She thought sorrow was her only companion. Fate had something else in mind.
Tragedy shattered her family, and Bébhinn O’Faolain is still gathering the pieces. At nearly twenty‑one, the youngest child of the Byrne sisters is suffocating under love, loss, and relentless protection. Desperate for independence, she sets out alone on a ten‑day trek through the rugged mountains of Wales, hoping the solitude will quiet her grief.
But the trail has other plans. Shadows move when she isn’t looking. Her belongings vanish and reappear. And when a storm drives her into an abandoned bothy, Bébhinn’s uneasy solitude is broken by Dagr Griffiths—a striking, brooding stranger with Nordic features and secrets as deep as the valleys surrounding them.
Drawn together by isolation and danger, Bébhinn and Dagr ignite a connection neither expects. But what follows her from the Welsh peaks refuses to stay behind. The shadows that stalked her have found their way home to Ireland—and they know her name.
Irish Goodbye balances grief, humor, and blazing chemistry, weaving a story of self‑discovery, family, and fated love. Between Dublin, London, and the wilds of Wales, Bébhinn and Dagr will defy families, distance, and even fate itself… if the darkness doesn’t claim them first.
Anne Gregor has a Master of Arts in History with an emphasis on the Civil War. For her thesis, she focused on Irish immigrants working the transcontinental railroad across America, specifically those who settled in Oklahoma amongst Native Americans. A love for research turned into a love for fictional writing, and soon, every old document Anne ever studied became the premise for a novel. Anne Gregor has been writing book reviews for several years and is a freelance proofreader. Oklahoma is near and dear to her heart as she lives on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. Anne is the author of three contemporary romance series: The Irish Wolves Trilogy, The Scottish Lions, and Irish Wolves Legacy.
Heartbreak, Mystery, and Romance This review touches on a major emotional development that connects to a previous series, so if you prefer to go in completely unspoiled, you may want to skip it. One thing I wasn’t prepared for was how much this book leans into loss. A significant character from an earlier story is gone, and for readers who grow deeply attached to recurring characters—as I do—that hits hard. It doesn’t make this a bad book, but it does change the emotional experience. For me, it took what might have been a swoony, immersive romance and layered it with genuine grief, and that isn’t something I always want when I pick up a romance. If you tend to form strong bonds with characters and expect some emotional safety from a series, it’s something you’ll want to be aware of. As for the rest of the story, Bébhinn is still reeling from her father’s death, determined to honor him by pushing herself into the wilds of Wales. What begins as a solitary trek quickly turns strange: her belongings vanish and reappear, shadows seem to move when she isn’t looking, and a storm forces her into a cave that changes everything. That’s where she meets Dagr—brooding, mysterious, and carrying secrets of his own. As the two are drawn together, both the danger around them and the truths between them begin to surface. If you enjoy romance threaded with mystery, hidden identities, and a touch of the uncanny, this story delivers all of that… just be prepared for a heartbreak at the very beginning, especially if you’ve read the Irish Wolves books.
Bébhinn and Dagr met when she was starting to feel like she was healing. A hike that helped to honor her deceased father and help heal her heart gave her a gift in the form of Dagr. Dagr went on a hike to check the trail and get a break from life. Meeting each other sparked a moment neither could forget. As things unfold between them some truths are revealed and dangers uncovered before they get their well deserved HEA. I loved this series the Bryne sisters to the Scottish Lions now with this next generation I cannot wait to see what happens next.

This book broke my heart then slowly put it back together. Its the next generation's turn and im ready to gobble up all of their stories. I enjoyed this journey with these two fantastic characters. The spice was perfect. I was gripped by the suspense and got the mystery completely wrong! I can't wait for the next book.

It was very slow start and difficult to . The story was over detailed with family relations. Mother's brother sisters cousin on your dad's side lol after reading the blurb I was hoping for more of a romance I was disappointed. I tried to scroll through but it just did not hold my interest so I quit.
