I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book explains the stages of grief that one's spouse experiences after a parent's passing. More importantly, it explains how one should help the grieving spouse. It gives insightful communication tips making it a great resource. Although it is written by professional counselors, it isn't riddled with doctor speak. It is concise, simple and easy to follow.
I wish this book had been around when my mother passed away, as my husband could have benefitted from it. And, likewise, I wish I'd had it when my father-in-law passed away. Perhaps we wouldn't have felt so helpless if we'd been able to read this guide during those sad times. If the author were to write a book for grieving widows or widowers, I'd buy it immediately.
