Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised three children as a divorced mother, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.

Adrienne currently resides in Arkansas in her newly empty nest. Formerly an RN, she now writes and publishes her stories full time. She is also a motivational speaker.

This was an easy, quick, and enjoyable read. At times, I was laughing very hard at some of the drama in the book and the exchange of dialogue. Anytime you have romance, love, a biological clock ticking, a drop dead gorgeous Brazilian male masseuse, and money. The story begins to write itself.

Alexandria Weaver was looking for a family. The fantasy husband, two kids, and a perfect marriage. She learns thru Victor Castro, the masseuse, that life is not planned. It is meant to be lived and enjoyed. From her eight years with Quincy Wright waiting for a marriage to materialize and thru the hurt and jealous of her younger sister, Farrah. Alexandria finds not only love and romance. But, more than she has put on contract. Enjoy!!!!

Quote:

" A man is hard to come by - especially one with a job. He ain't got no kids and he's got his own place. I don't know what else you could want, Alex."

He kissed me slowly on the lips. "It is as real as we make it. And remember, there's business and there's pleasure. Taking vows was business, making love to you is always a pleasure for me."

I love when a book has everything I'm looking for and more. This one hit the spot! It was a page-turner with an engaging/creative plot. It never got boring and was exceptionally well-written in terms of semantics and word arrangement. A bonus is how connected I felt to the main character and her experiences. I felt sad for Alex at times and also happy for her at times. This book is a job well done. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an engaging fiction read.

Great read Alert! Adrienne Thompson is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style.

I thoroughly enjoyed “Ain't Nobody” for the flow and the non-stop drama. Alexandria Weaver was in an eight-year relationship with Quincy, who clearly was not ready for marriage. Enter Mr. Casanova - Victor! Alexandria met Victor during her trip to Brazil and he makes her forget her self-esteem issues.

This is a story that will keep you turning the pages, for even the secondary characters were interesting. A story about love, forgiveness, and redemption. Great job, Adrienne!

Love this story- BRAB ONLINE BOOK CLUB

I had no idea what to expect when I started this story but I was certainly not disappointed. The author brought the drama and it was so intense, there was not a dull moment.

When Alexandria's biological clock started ticking, she wanted to be married to her fiance; but his reluctance led to her taking charge of her life. When she encountered his betrayal, she was done.

Taking matters into her hands, she embarked on a journey of self fulfillment which led to a twisted series of events. I love the characters, even though they were flawed. I didn't know what to expect from one moment to the next, which resulted in a page turner.

TO BAZIL WITH LOVE--A REVIEW OF AIN'T NOBODY, by ADRIENNE THOMPSON

As is her style, Adrienne Thompson, takes your heart on a roller coaster ride with one shocking event after the other.

Ain't Nobody is a story about Alexandria Weaver and her journey of self discovery. Alex, as she's called, has been in a relationship with Quincy Wright for the past 8 years. At 37, she reaccesses where the relationship is going and decides that she's on a train to nowhereville. When she decides to take a trip to Brazil, by herself, mind you, Alex finds that there are not enough miles in the world to make her forget the wrong that has been done to her. With all of her smarts--she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University with degree in Business Management; she was a former VP for a beauty cosmetics company, rubbing elbows with Houston's elite; she is a successful novelist whose books are about to be turned into a TV mini-series--she couldn't see the far-reaching effects that a business proposition from a very unlikely source would have on her life. The business proposition set the wheels in motion, and the tone, for everything that would happen afterward.

Just when you think Alex has finally come to grips with her life, another secret reveals itself. From her sister to her mother to her best friend, Alex is finding out things that are unsettling and hair-raising. It's a story as much about love and redemption as it is about forgiveness. This book was masterfully crafted. The scenes ebbed and flowed seamlessly, which are the makings of a true page-turner. Kudos, Ms. Thompson, for another dynamic read! I recomnend this book.

I have had the pleasure of receiving an advanced copy of "Ain't Nobody" and once again Adrienne Thompson put her soul into her writing! Alexandria is a women that we can all relate too, her story will have you sitting back and reflecting on your own life story. What is real love? Is there even a such thing as real love? Do you know what your self worth is? All these questions will flash through your mind as you are reading this book. A definite page turner and of course Adrienne does not disappoint with the male characters!!! WHEW!... is all I can say!

Ain't Nobody

I know Adrienne Thompson is a good writer and I thought When You've Been Blessed was my favorite book by her, but Ain't Nobody just took it place as my favorite. I wish I could fully express how powerful and amazing this story is, but all I will say is get you a copy and find a quiet place to read and you will not be disappointed. I love this story.

(Alex)andria is engaged to be married and has been for the past five years. She's ready to make it official so she can start having babies because the BIG 4-0 is fast approaching. Her fiance Quincy has lots of excuses why he's not ready. But her clock is ticking and once Alex discovers Quincy's secret, she has finally had enough.

So she jets off to Rio for a solo honeymoon and promptly decides that she is going to get her groove back. Victor (her masseuse) helps her to stop dwelling on the mess waiting for her back home. He offers her a crazy proposition that she can't even seriously consider ... can she? Is Victor the one? Will Alex realize her dreams of motherhood?

I had planned to rate this book higher but I decided that there's no way she'd be clueless for eight years -- no way. Plus, there are two major reveals that happen and I couldn't wrap my brain around either one of them. One is so shockingly heinous and the other is laughably ridiculous. Wouldn't Quincy have accomplished this ultimate mission by

I love Adrienne's writing style and her book covers so I will continue to read her work.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! Lawd hammercy! Adrienne made me stay up all night, I couldn't put this book down! This book had me from the first page, and I could not put it down!

This is an awesome read, and a beautiful story. To me it's more than a romance, Alex went on a journey, though a wild one, but she discovered her self and learned that she was beautiful and worthy of love. You have to read this!

I’ve enjoyed reading the works of Adrienne Thompson. In this latest novel, “Ain’t Nobody,” Thompson steps out of her comfort zone and creates a main character who stretches the boundaries of Thompson’s previous main characters. Alex is the opposite of characters we’re usually familiar with by Thompson, she’s hostile, edgy, and very bold. Alex is determined to get married and have a family at any cost- literally! After her boyfriend Quincy of eight years committed an unforgivable sin, Alex is fed up! She packs her bags and head to Rio on a quest for love. She brings back her lover boy, and a surprise for all of her family and friends. But, will Alex be satisfied with her new family and new marriage? What happens when everyone finds out the truth? This is a fast-paced read that I finished in one day. The drama was non-stop. This is a story that will keep you turning the pages and begging for more.

This author is the master of writing about issues that can save you or break you. Alexandria after being in an eight year relationship and still not married decided to cut her never husband off only to find out he has been creeping all along. She then decides to go on her honeymoon alone and meet Victor. Let me just say her relationship with Victor was suppose to be strictly business but the heart wants what it want. This is a story of healing, forgiveness and finding self and your happily ever after. I love this author and the tales that she always brings to paper. Great Job and highly recommended.

APB Perspective Review :

This was my first time reading this author and it will certainly not be my last , sometimes you find love when you think it's not there and in this book Alex and Victor find it. This was nothing I expected from Christian fiction and everything I would want it to be . There are real people, who do make mistakes and have real relationships that include sex even if it's not written in detail. The author does not brow beat you with the message, but she shows you and tells you in a way that you accept and appreciate . This is a good story and I will surely be reading more books by this author.

While I liked the story the drama was a little too much. Alexandria hears her biological clock ticking loud and clear. She has spent 8 years in a relationship only to have it end in a fireball. She finds her guy in bed with another woman, the other woman is her sister. Alex kicks him to the curb and jets of on her own to her "honeymoon" in Brazil. There she finds Victor, her new love. Unfortunately, he is a gigolo. Craziness runs amuck when the two marry...untrustworthy friends, disloyal family, secrets revealed, greed, pregnancy, amnesia, stupid decisions that lead to more predictably stupid decisions.

The book is fine, just not great.

Adrienne does it again!

Since I've started reading Adrienne's books, I have not been disappointed. She writes stories that draw you in & they help you relate to your own life with the Christian aspect of the story. I read this book in a couple of hours one night because I could not put it down. The heroine in this story is Alexandria & we start out with her leaving an 8 year relationship. Throughout this book we get to see her hardships & watch her grow. There are some surprises throughout the book & I loved the ending.

This was a freakinfantastic read that was chock full of delicious drama, captivating elements, and swoon worthy romance without the pornalicious scenes that often find themselves enmeshed within the pages of ambitious IR Romance novels...

Giving this one: 4.5 stars...

Scandalous! That's the one word I would use to describe this story. There was no end to the family drama. I thought I was going to have to smack somebody. That's how real it seemed at times. This was my first read from this author and I am looking forward to another read.

Nice story. I was cheering for Victor and Alex the whole time. The strangest things sometimes bring people together and they overcame their obstacles while, at the same time, healing broken family relationships. Another page turner, Ms. Thompson. Of course, I didn't expect anything less. Kudos!

Amazing

I felt so many emotions reading this story. I loved Victor and he was so good with loving a woman. I read the prequel first so I understood why he was so good at seducing a woman. Alexandria was a fire cracker! She was wildly successful in the literary world but felt like she was behind the game in love, marriage, and kids goals. Quincy really played her and her sister hurt her to the core. Watching the love story unfold was everything. I felt compelled to pray when Alex prayed and I felt the need to forgive when she had to forgive. Just amazing!

Muddled conclusion

Christian ending. Active Christians, might find it offensive. Includes sexual overtones. Confusing novel. The ending takes the reader in many different directions.

Adrienne Thompson just keeps getting better and better! I’m behind on reading her books, and since I had a 3+ hour flight to get through and it was Sunday, I decided to read this book (for whatever crazy reason, I always read her books on Sunday). This book was outstanding! There were soooo many funny lines that seriously had me laughing out loud in the airport, and on the plane (my sister, who I was traveling with, was not amused). This review contains what may be considered spoilers, so proceed with caution.

I loved Alex. When she got involved with Victor I was like ‘girl, don’t do it’, then ‘why him, he’s kinda sketchy, isn’t he’, but I couldn’t blame her. I guess I’m gon’ learn to stop doubting Ms. Thompson and these characters that she creates, cause she clearly knows what she is doing. Alex was a mess with that hot temper! She would get mad and all hell would break loose, LOL. I could definitely understand her confusion about Quincy and Victor. Quincy knew what to say, and when and how to say it to get to her. I almost fell for his lies at one point. And Victor was so convincing when telling her not love him. And the staying out late, and not coming home definitely didn’t help. I wasn’t sure who she was going to end up with, but Ms. Thompson is a master at creating crazy, unforeseen events that take her characters through the fire, and then remind that that God can bring you through ANYthing! And when life gets rough, don’t we all need that reminder from time to time? It’s amazing how she does this in a way that isn’t preachy or over the top, but just…right. She gives me something to think about and be thankful for every time I read one of her books.

So many complicated side characters in this one. Even though we found out why Farrah acted the way she did, I still didn’t like her. She and Quincy were despicable. And Gwin and Mama weren’t much better, although I understood Mama a little better after her confession. I guess. I really need to work on my ability to forgive, because I would have kicked that whole bunch to the curb. What a nest of vipers!

Anyway, read this book. It’s good! Keep doing your thing, Ms. Thompson!

Wooh! That was more drama than I can read lol!! The way Quincy played Alexandria for 8yrs,and her sister being a major player in the game too. Wow that's enough for anybody to have anger issues. Idc what your problems are if you deliberately want to cause me pain you getting your ass whipped. You made a conscious decision to interfere in my life, and I ain't turning the other cheek! Now, Victor's character was an anomaly lol. This gorgeous foreign guy falls in love with the black southern gal love at first sight hmmm... I wouldn't have thought he was sincere either, even though I knew he was a whore from jump. He was more closeted with his feelings and emotions than a homosexual not out yet. But, Gwin was right they were in love from the start. It took a good beatin to make them both realize there priorities. This was wonderful, and 4 kids Lawd!!

I dug the book overall, and I didn't dislike it, but I can't say I LOVED it...there were definitely elements of it that I enjoyed, such as how Alex wasn't the typical perfect-bodied lead character...that was refreshing. It was a humorous read at times, which I always appreciate.
However, there were more than a few times I found Alex just annoying more than anything. And it's hard to pinpoint exactly why...she just irked me. And Victor...no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't picture him. Whenever I read I tend to picture the characters in my mind and for whatever reason, I couldn't picture Victor. And the way he spoke was...I don't know. I couldn't take to it.
This is my first time reading anything from this author and I look forward to checking out more from her.

This is the first book I've actually read by this author. I have "Home" on standby and plan on reading it after having read this book. I think the author touched on issues that go on with a lot of women. A successful woman who wants to be loved and not used, wants a family and all that goes with it. I am glad i read this. It was very entertaining and I could see myself being "Alex." I liked the way the story wove all the characters together, and I'm glad there was a happy ending. I look forward to reading more of Adrienne Thompson. Also, I need a Victor in my life!
