Morph: Demise of Knacc: The making of a perfect soldier forces the world’s spies into action

Rate this book
Dan Fletcher was never meant to exist. Now someone wants him dead.

Enhanced at birth without his knowledge, Dan is one of the MorphEns—a covert generation of genetically engineered humans, designed to be faster, stronger, and smarter than everyone else. He’s spent thirty years believing he’s normal. That illusion ends in a brutal ambush in the French Alps.

Hunted across Europe, Dan is forced on the run with his brother and sister as the Apfel—a ruthless organisation with unlimited reach—closes in. Assassins strike without warning. Safe houses burn. And the people chasing him know exactly what he is.

As MI6 fights to keep him alive, the CIA and FSB wage a silent war to seize control of the programme that created him. Trapped between rival agencies, betrayed at every turn, and pursued by enemies who never miss, Dan must rely on instinct, courage, and the few people he can still trust to survive.

No one can be trusted. Nowhere is safe.
And when evolution makes you a weapon, how do you outrun the people who built you?

BRILLIANT READ. Punchy, gritty, and confidently written from the first line. The narrative style is fantastic, you’re not just reading about the characters, you’re inside their heads. Each perspective feels authentic and sharp, and the pacing keeps the tension constantly alive. A truly immersive and impressive book

BRILLIANT BOOK ...... Punchy style right from the first line and gritty too. Loved the style of writing and really felt like I had dropped in to the mind of each character as they were portrayed.

If you like crime and thrillers and particularly if you like anything Jack Reacher or Jason Bourne then you'll love MORPH. The storyline is both interesting and intriguing with several serious twists that I neither saw coming nor was I prepared for (in a good way). It reminds me a bit (not the subject matter) of Game of Thrones in terms of the number of different characters and how they all end up knitted together.

I can not wait for book 2 of this trilogy and 100% can see this getting turned into a film.

BRILLIANT, JUST BRILLIANT.

Gripping storyline and left me wanting part 2 of the trilogy right now. Couldn't put it down, so much so I smashed through it in 3 days. Centred around a interesting character called Dan Fletcher, who is chased through Europe by a kill team - this isn't giving the story away, so don't panic. MI6, CIA and the FSB are all involved too, admittedly a big soft spot for me reading about the intelligence agencies, but Morph is gripping for other reasons too.

An intriguing and clever story draws you in and leaves you wanting more (I guess thats book 2 and 3), but each chapter gives an insight into the characters and puts you in the mind of one of them 0 its very clever and very enticing.

There is a big twist almost at the end that you don't see coming and then it culminates with an other surprise in the final chapter too. Spoiler alert. Would strongly recommend this, its a brilliant read.

The plot follows Dan Fletcher, running for his life across Europe, its a fast action packed blast with plenty of intrigue, more twists than you can imagine and with a great deal of grit too. The story is extremely convincing and the action very real, believable and graphic.

As Dan dashes from the French Alps several side stories commence, these sub-plots link nicely to the main story, a myriad of characters start to make sense as the story reaches its conclusion. By the end everything is clear, although this is book one of a trilogy and as much as Demise of Knacc is a complete story, you're left hanging for what is clearly coming next too. Thats the 2nd book in the. Morph trilogy and its been cleverly put together. This is a cracking read from a debut author.

A couple of very likeable 'baddies' add to the highly entertaining plot and two horrible (in a good way) twists shatter your perspective of how, why and what is coming next. Strong recommend.

Punchy, fast paced and incredibly interesting. I honestly barely put it down, read it almost entirely in 3 shifts. I loved the characters, of which there are many and the way they interact with each other. In parts its a gritty realistic book, describing the action realistically and in part there is a humour and a warmth.
Really well written and with several killer twists that I did not see coming. I can see this making an excellent film too. Without ruining the story, the plot follows a guy called Dan, on the run from assassins, whilst competing nation states via their intelligence / spy agencies fight for the IP technology that Dan and his siblings possess. Except the interesting, in fact scary part being they don't know they possess this technology.

Its book 1 of a trilogy and has a super ending to this story whilst leaving you wanting to know whats next in the Morph series. An utterly compelling read. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a Bourne fan.

A super read, this got me hooked from the very first chapter, a super-easy writing style that draws the reader in. Detailed, yet concise and punchy, the story is fast flowing and without giving the plot away, the first big twist was genuinely out of the blue' and very clever.

The central character (Dan Fletcher) is very alluring, but equally the protagonists to Dan have an appeal too. I loved the entire storyline and how the characters , of which there are many, end up connected. Demise of Knacc is part 1 of the trilogy and now I am busting to read part 2 when its released.

I'd highly reccommend this to all crime and thriller lovers.

FABULOUS READ with a super concept. Demise of Knacc is a clever crime-come-thriller, intertwining a storyline involving the intelligence agencies of the US, Russia and Britain alongside a criminal organisation. The chapters come thick and fast, introducing some fascinating characters at a breath taking pace. Its super-easy to read, entertaining and enthralling.

The plot thickens as the story plays out, several twists keep you guessing, one of which would be a real spoiler alert to say here as its a killer part of the book. Cleverly written and neatly succinct too.

I will 100% be getting Part 2 when its released. Strong recommend from me.

SPELLBINDING. Read it on a whim having seen a review "liking it to a Tom Clancy" and was hooked from the get-go. Story was great, interesting and clever, but the best part was it twisted savagely a couple of times.
The clever part was intricate weaving of the storylines and characters as the plot unfolded.

The writing style is quite bullish (which I liked), no-nonsense language and very realistic fight / action scenes. Would make an excellent film.

FANTASTIC read. Not heard of this author before, think its a debut novel, nonetheless this is a belter of a book. A gripping spy novel, a bit brutal at times, graphic action scenes playout constantly from chapter to chapter.

LOVED the myriad of characters, particularly the main hero and heroine - although I say this, there are several other strong characters I also liked that may well be the main character? I look forward to the second in this series.

FANTASTIC READ ...... gripped from chapter 1, the style is clever too. You get dropped into the mind of many of the characters as they navigate through the plot and sub-plots.

The various sub-plots all weave together to form the complete story of Morph: Demise of Knacc. I very much liked this book and look forward to the next in the series. SUPER BOOK IF YOU LIKE CRIME & ESPIONAGE.

Awesome book, read it and you won't be disappointed. I was hooked from chapter 1 and literally smashed through chapter after chapter in quick time.

My favourite genre is crime and espionage so admittedly this is 'my perfect book', but even so this was right out of the Jason Bourne type storyline and told with great aplomb. Its a series (I think) so I will 100% be reading the next one.

Loved this book! Gripping from start to finish, and finish I mean I hope that there is another book coming. Similar to Jack Reacher type books but with a completely different concept and something I have never come across before.

Enticing from the start very much like the reacher series with a genetic engineering backdrop, a thoroughly good read that’s fast paced enough to keep you hooked yet easy to read, with just enough plot twists to keep you guessing

A MUST READ book.

A super debut from an unknown author but the storyline is both strong and clever. An interesting concept too and its full of compelling characters. The first of a trilogy and I look forward to part 2.

Strongly recommend.

Espionage/ spy books aren't usually my thing but this was great. It's fast paced, very well written and is more of a thriller with an espionage tilt. Great plot and great characters make it a fantastic read. Highly recommended

Stunning story, cleverly written in an enticing style. If you can only read 10 books in 2026 make sure this is one of them!
