The Hungarian Language
Hungarian is spoken in Hungary and by the Hungarian minorities in 7 neighboring countries. The Hungarian name for the language is Magyar. Pimsleur's Hungarian teaches the "standard" Hungarian, which is based on the North-Eastern dialect spoken throughout Hungary.

I have been through this audio course a few times in the last five years. It is one of the very few resources out there for actually learning how to speak/listen/think in the Hungarian language. I am going to go through the more advanced courses now. I will warn you that if you have NO exposure to Hungarian that it may take you a few times to get through one 30-minute lesson. It is not like trying to learn Spanish - Hungarian words are not similar to those in ANY other language. However, it is a rewarding and beautiful journey especially once you start getting the hang of it.
