Aurora, the middle, is the peacemaker. Vivi Ann, the youngest, is the undisputed star of the family. Everything comes easily to Vivi Ann, her father's love most of all. But when Vivi Ann makes a fateful decision to follow her heart, rather than take the route of a dutiful daughter, events are set in motion that will test the love and loyalties of the Grey sisters. They will be pitted against each other in ways none could have imagined. Secrets will be revealed, and a terrible, shocking crime will shatter both the family and their beloved town. All good books

Fly Away _ This book is about a friendship we dream about. Not perfect, but true and never ending. It also drives home that you shouldn't judge someone unless you have walked a mile in their shoes. We all have our stories. Great book.

I listened to this on Audible. It's book one of a two-part series. After listening to *The Women* by this author and adoring it, I knew I needed to try more of her work.

I find Kristen Hannah's work engrossing and brilliant to listen to. Her books are quite a commitment to read, always being a bulk of 500+ pages, but when listening to them, I never notice how long they are because I'm simply lost within the words. This book is around 14+ hours but so worth it.

I have watched the TV series and found it interesting how it differs from the book. For me, both were very enjoyable, although I definitely prefer the book's events.

This isn't my usual genre: contemporary, chick lit, historical fiction, romance, and friendship. However, I thoroughly savored it from start to finish. This author is extremely talented in creating in-depth tales that become an odyssey.

This is a story of Kate Mularkey and Tully Hart. Two teenage girls who meet by chance in 1974. They may be like chalk and cheese in some ways, but they build an irrevocable bond. They become TullyandKate -The Firefly Lane girls. This story spans over more than three decades, with some true historical moments explored and all the while focusing on the colorful, powerful, and poignant story of friendship.

This story crafts two main characters that you cannot help but love. It's a story in which you become engrossed by the characters, which in turn draws out every emotion possible. The character development was so strong it felt like a real-life soul-stirring journey, in which I could visualize intensely. I felt like they were very relatable, and this makes me connect to a story even more.

Although this story is uplifting in so many ways, the undertones are very tragic. Hannah delves into some extremely tragic and harrowing events. This story made my heart warm but also ache until the tears were pooling. It's a touching story that is certainly memorable.

Kristen Hannah is becoming an autobuy for me, despite the flip in my usual thriller genre, I simply cannot get enough. I'm looking forward to getting book two now. I'd highly recommend you give this a a go you may find yourself pleasantly suprised.

This series is absolutely addicting, especially for those who identify with Generation X. Definitely took me back to an idealized image of my formative years, so was a great holiday season escape. While I appreciate the chronology and enjoyed the mention of the music they loved (David Cassidy, Jackson Five, a must!) and major news events they lived through, I also felt the author missed some opportunities to tell more about young women navigating rapidly changing times while growing up in middle class (very white) suburbia in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Like myself, Kate was raised in a traditional Christian home, and also like me, knew at least one Tully. Considering their interest in journalism, there was little to no awareness of the civil rights movement, the sexual revolution, feminism, sexism in the workplace, Rock and Roll, Disco, or the sexual revolution--things that most girls of that generation struggled with and were formed by. These omissions often made the two main characters seem shallow and ignorant, especially Tully. Kate and her family, traditional Catholics, seem relatively free of the kinds of conflicts I recall going through as a modern girl during those times. Still, I would recommend the Firefly Lane series as an engaging and emotionally compelling exploration of female friendship.

I enjoy Kristen Hannah's work and had read several of her books twice. Until I read Firefly Lane my favorite book of hers was THE HREAT ALONE. But the adventures of Tully and Kate are now far and away my favorite. Hannah knows how to tell a story and I love the way she drew this out as she created the story. Characters like Cloud,Mrs. M and Mara are real and the way they are woven together is masterful.

KH Never Disappoints

Three full novels and I cried at some point of each book. KH has away with words, the story flows effortlessly, it's easy to get lost in the story. I've read several of her novels and have found a way to connect to a character in every one. I will re-read these books again.🤩

Excellent vacation reading. Not stressful. Relatively light. It will make you want to call your girlfriends :) I actually read all three books in the series, but for some reason, Goodreads doesn't have the 2nd or 3rd available to add or review.

Family and friends

These are well-written stories of girls, sisters mothers , daughters and friends and their relationships. The stories are also about how love is expressed in families and friendships.

👯‍♀️Firefly Lane is a historical fiction novel.
The story follows the friendship and bond of Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey throughout the years. Like any strong relationship, Kate and Tully experience highs and lows — Joy, jealousy, resentment and forgiveness are all at play. After weathering several hurdles over many decades, one poor decision threatens to end their friendship for once and for all.

👯‍♀️This was my third Kristin Hannah book after The The Great Alone and The Nightingale remain my favorite.
This is a fabulous book, it will center you and remind you of what is most important once you strip everything back ……. Love, family and laughter.
👯‍♀️Briefly, I enjoyed listening to the audiobook, which I recommend.

A must read

I was torn between wanting to read continually and not wanting the story to end. So much drama. An emotional rollercoaster. I'll be reading more books by this author.
