A night of screams, shadows, and sacrifice. You don’t attend the circus. You become it.
Neve Gray isn’t afraid of monsters. She’s spent her life chasing them — in scare mazes, serial killer documentaries, and the dark corners of her fantasies where fear and lust share a bed. Nothing gets under her skin anymore.
So when The Midnight Den manages to get her a ticket to the most elusive Halloween attraction on earth — a supernatural circus that rises from the mist for one night only, drenched in rumour and blood — she doesn’t hesitate.
But Cirque Nocturne doesn’t perform for audiences. It devours them.
Each tent holds a new act. A new monster. A new way to be touched, ruined, and horrified.
Every monster leaves a mark. Every act pulls her deeper into the spotlight. Until Neve stops asking who’s in control… and starts wondering what she’s becoming.
Fear is the ticket. Pleasure is the trap. The curtain’s rising — and she’s the finale.
**********
All Midnight Den books are short stories — unapologetically 100% smut and 0% plot. BUT THIS HALLOWEEN SPECIAL is waaaay longer than usual and has reached a full-length book. That's a whole lotta deranged smut! Each book is a standalone and can be read in any order. They are not love stories with HEAs — they are one night of filthy fun. Usually no romance, aftercare, or emotional resolution. Not for the faint of heart. You’ll need a fire extinguisher for your e-reader, a lawyer for your depravity, and exorcising in a bucket of holy water for your warped soul by the time you’re done with the series.
Graphic, explicit content for adult readers only. Will be highly offensive to some readers! PLEASE CHECK THE CONTENT WARNINGS.
There’s a Midnight Den in almost every city. Monster ‘Fudging’ is big business. Others rarely mix with humans in romantic relationships—we're beneath them, the lowest rung on the evolutionary ladder. But within each species, there are always those willing to take our money for a night of pure, feral debauchery.
From midnight to six a.m., every carnal desire is yours to claim. Tentacles, claws, and otherworldly 'members' will plunder you to nirvana. Whether you want your monster to deliver degradation, worship, restraint, or pure ruin, nothing is forbidden. Everything is encouraged.
Welcome to the Midnight Den. Time to unleash your beast.
Ebony Saint is the author of extremely explicit short erotica stories.
Her Midnight Den series features graphic kinky encounters with monsters/paranormal creatures. Contact the church in advance - you'll be needing an exorcism to cleanse your soul after reading them all. So filthy these books should come with a fire extinguisher, a bucket of holy water, and a lawyer.
Monsters not your thing? Ebony is also working on a contemporary kink series. Keep an eye out!

This book took me quite some time to actually get through and finish. It had to do with how heavy the book was, but also I went into a slump around the same time that I started the book. I’m going to go through each act in the book by character and give my thoughts if I have any HAHA Overall, I rate this book 4 stars - I feel as though the resolution towards the end, gave the story more meaning than just Neve wanting to be scared & them sleeping with her to do so
☆ Act One - Veil For a first chapter, I think this really eased into the story we would be reading as well as wasn’t completely harsh straight out of the door. I definitely plan to reread the first chapter because by the time I finished the book, it has been a while, but I did enjoy just knowing that she was fucked by a ghost a.k.a. poltergeist. ☆ What was left behind - ice blue eye
☆ Act Two - Thatch This is the chapter that I started just before my slump. It was a very long chapter to get through because there was a lot of running through the field scenes. As well as interactions with Raze. I enjoyed how gentle the scarecrow was in the beginning and seeing how quickly his character shifted to become more brutal was tough to see but understandable. Definitely didn’t take away from the story itself, just added more depth ☆ What was left behind - straw under her face
☆ Act Three - Jack I can’t not laugh at the thought of pumpkin head plus monster penis. It’s just hilarious to remember. Definitely a fun chapter to read & think about. I don’t really remember anything super insane happening aside from him, ejaculating pumpkin seeds into her and saying that she was gonna have his pumpkin baby. ☆ What was left behind - vines around her wrist
☆ Act Four - Pyre & Blade I feel like this was another shorter chapter. Especially for having two characters. I was a little confused for a minute on why there was an audience - like I know they’re at a circus but and I’m curious if they’re frozen in time while she is going through the different acts of the night. The plot behind neither of them wanting to let her finish, but then Pyre getting off blade was crazy because I did not expect it to happen You go, Glen Coco HAHA ☆ What was left behind - their names carved into her sides
☆ Act Five - Jinx I definitely looked forward to this act the most because clowns are a favorite of mine. It was a little hard to get behind the daddy comments because it’s definitely not something in my forte of enjoyment. HOWEVER, I do think it was a fun chapter for Neve and we got to know more about her on a deeper level through confession. As well as getting to see her begin to bond with one of the characters who wasn’t completely rough and brutal. ☆ What was left behind - Laugh Box
☆ Act Six - Raze I was a little bit letdown with how short this chapter was especially since Raze was a reoccurring character through the entire beginning of the book. It made sense for who his character was, and the story that is told by his character, I suppose. But going from his chapter being so short, and then knowing how long some of the others were was a little disappointing. ☆ What was left behind - bite mark
☆ Act Seven - Nightmare Very nice to have a bit of character pace change. Going from the brutality and how rough the night was to have someone then be more gentle with her physically versus mentally. I really liked the explanation of a lot of the story through this character. And even when brutality resumes, this character stays very gentle This chapter definitely added a lot more to the story and pushed us into the final act ALSO are we gonna talk about her actually birthing a pumpkin!!? ☆ What was left behind - black line down the center of her chest
☆ Act Eight - Riven Mine mine mine MINE - I really enjoyed that they introduced each act to the audience, reminding us characters and what they did. I ate this part UP! I also really enjoyed how each of the characters showed love to Neve in their own quirky way. In the end, obviously she chose to stay with them and be theirs forever. ☆ What was left behind - his name carved in her hand
The ending wrapped a lot up for me and definitely added to the story so I was very thankful for that. And having that understanding made it a four star read for me.

This truly surprised me. I wasn’t expecting it to be so well written. There were some things that were repeated but overall this was a great ending to my spooky season reads. If you like dark, depraved scenes mixed with lots of sex…this is for you.
Neve gets a ticket to a circus that appears only on Halloween night. She heard rumors of the circus and learned everything she could. Then went to an exclusive club that grants you whatever you want, for a price. She wants to be scared. She is lead to each act by Riven, the ringmaster. She is left to experience each by herself. At first she thinks it’s all a show but soon discovers everything she sees and experiences is very real. Each act is different entity. Veil, Thatch, Jack, Pyre, Blade, Jinx, Raze, Nightmare and ultimately Riven.
I don’t want to say too much. Go into it blind. Unless you must check trigger warnings (spoilers).
Wow. I loved this book. The writing was well done, you could feel the atmosphere, characters, and settings like you were actually there. Not too little nor too much detail.
FMC goes through a series of tents/fields/etc. with one monster in each (one had two, another multiple but no MM) so it felt MF but overall RH. This book is about as black horror erotica as you can get, triggers galore! Nightmare’s tent with Blade’s part (iykyk) tip toed on my one (and only - I love me some dark/black books) trigger but stayed just on this side so no pages skipped. The one thing that kept pinging in the back of my mind was good lord, give that woman a couple water breaks, dehydration is a thing!
Step Right Up for Madness, Mayhem, and a Whole Lot of Spice
Deliciously demented. Sinfully depraved. And I ate up every twisted second of it. This book was a full-blown carnival of chaos, and I couldn’t look away. I devoured it in one sitting—no regrets, only obsession. I’ve never been a “why choose” girl, but this is the second author making me question all my convictions. My first taste of Ebony Saint, and let’s just say… it won’t be my last. 🔥🖤
Just wow! Trigger warnings are a must for this one. I would not recommend this for someone new to the darker side of books.
This was mostly spice, but was done well and still told a story. I recommend this for people who do like darker stories and that can handle the warnings listed.
Check your trigger warnings. This is a dark circus story. It brings delicious characters to life that will haunt your daydreams. Do you have a fear? Or is it a kink. This book is like no other but it is horribly dark in the best of ways.
