Included throughout the book are more than 100 newspaper articles and interviews, some facsimile and some transcribed, which give a first-hand flavour of Beatlemania including the fascinating facsimile of the newspaper that Lennon was reading when he wrote the iconic 'A Day in the Life' (I read the news today oh boy...). It includes more than 200 pieces of rare memorabilia are reproduced in original form throughout, giving a flavour of the 1960s.

Okey Day!
The pictures in this were AMAZING! There were a lot that even I haven't seen before, which is really saying something!

Then why only 4 stars you ask?

Because the information on the sides was faulty in some places.....

Example 1- It said something about the song "She Said She Said" and said it was included on the Sgt. Pepper album, but it's actually on the Revolver album.

Example 2- It said that Bob Dylan introduced the lads to marijuana after he thought it said "I get high" instead of "I can't hide" in "Ticket to Ride".... there's not a line that says "I can't hide" in "Ticket to Ride"... that's "I Want to Hold Your Hand"....

Cada foto viene con una explicación del momento en que fue tomada y donde se refleja algo de la historia de los cuatro de Liverpool pero que queda en lo que más o menos uno sabe sobre una de la más grande banda de la historia. Fabulous photos, some of which are iconic, and a fair amount of lesser-known archival photos from The Daily Mail charting the Beatles' trajectory from Liverpool to superstardom. There are a fair amount of photos of the Fab Four post-breakup. There is a noticeable lack of personal photos as these mostly represent photo calls, premieres/concerts and publicity events, so there is little intimacy, but a lot of glamour.

Some of the photo captions and descriptions are rote recitations of known Beatles tidbits, and there is an error here or there. I did learn a few facts I didn't know, but for the most part it's standard fare and nothing revealing or deeply researched.

Gets 4-stars for the pictures but be aware that Tim Hill is packaging these same pics under several titles and covers. Same as "Unseen Archives" for example. Pictures are great the different books are nicely packaged, but how many copies of the same ones do you want even at 'remainder' prices?

Also, some of the info/captioning is faulty.

Images of The Beatles is another small hardback mini-coffee table book from the UK Daily Mail. It's similar to The Beatles Unseen Archive and there is some cross-over with the photo material. In this book however, the photos are bigger and generally only one pic per page. Only a modest amount of text and some after the Beatles pics finish it off nicely. Worth considering.

This is a great little book.

It's basically black and white photos of the Beatles, their families, performances, special and candid moments from 1960 through 2004. The photos are fantastic! Any Beatles fan would love this book. It's a treasure for me.

This collection of photos of the Beatles spans the time from when they were just another boy band through their rocket flight to stardom to the breakup and beyond. Their ability to create music and take it new directions was astonishing in their early years. They toured live, went into the studio and recorded full albums in a matter of days and then went back on tour.
One major point of emphasis is the incredible songwriting capability of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, particularly McCartney. One time he composed a song so quickly that he went around playing it and asking others if they had ever heard it before. He thought that he was somehow plagiarizing another song.
Fans of the Beatles will love this volume, those with a passing or historical interest in the group only a little bit less so.

This collection of photographs and information is from the Daily Mail. One thing I was struck by, in reading this book, is the fact that the Beatles were at the dawn of marketing and merchandising. They lost millions through poor business decisions and ignorance about how their images could be monetized.

This book is a pleasant walk back through a time when Beatlemania became a catch-phrase. I enjoyed it. The book outlined just how the Fab Four grew and then split apart.

This book isn't really heavy on the info (that's what biographies are for, I guess). It is just a really great collection of pictures. And my copy only cost $8. Whoa. When I grow up and have my own coffee table, this book will most definitely be going on it.
