They call it erotica but I think it is closer to steamy romance because I wasn't confronted with hardcore sexual romps with the turn of every page. First and foremost, this was a mystery and the banter between the lovely investigator Traci Steele and cowboy Scott McCord was down to earth and interesting. Author Adriana Kraft weaved a compelling tale that would attract any reader. She kept me guessing right up to the very end.

Book Description....

"Hot-shot Chicago prosecuting attorney Traci Steele works tirelessly keeping rapists off the street to prevent other women from suffering the hell she’s endured, so she resists her friends’ insistence that she take a two month R&R in their California Live Oak condo—until they persuade her to help their rancher friend as a private investigator.

This is Traci Steele's story. Cassie plays matchmaker to get Traci fixed with Scott McCord. She sends Traci out to California on a vacation and to help Scott discover who is harming the horses he has certified as being ready to race.

I enjoyed this story. I liked Traci vulnerability when it comes to romance and men because of her past. It is a contrast to her no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners attitude as a prosecuting attorney and investigator. I loved watching her outline the case and her inst

This is such a great story. Traci Steele is an amazing woman and a wonderful attorney. Tragedy struck her as a teenager and has stolen a part of herself, something she never believes she will get back. Traci needed some relaxation so she heads to a resort for some down time and at the request of her good friend Cassie she is going to help Scott McCord. He is one sexy cowboy, with his hat and his mustache. She shuts her feelings down and both decide to try to work together to figure what's happen ...more

Book four in the Riders Up series. Traci & Scott's story.

Mildly romantic, mostly suspense filled. Troubled & sad city girl helps the California cowboy try to uncover the reason he seems to be having more than just plain ol' bad luck with the racehorses he rehabs. Scott is at risk of losing his stellar reputation and clients, which will impact the Live Oak Resort equestrian center. During her stay at Live Oak,Chicago prosecut

Riveting Mystery and love story in one great book
This may be the fourth book in the Riders Up Series but it is still a self-contained story. Some of the characters bleed through to each book. This story tells up about Traci Steele who is a prosecuting attorney who needs to get away after her father death. And about Scott McCord who keeps having horse mishaps at the Live Oaks stables and his gut feeling is it’s not just accidents. Traci is sent by Cassie Travers to see if she can help find out wh
