I decided to read this book to let my curiosity have an end to its mean so that I realise what ending we are gonna get in the Cdrama Love In The Clouds.

starting of, this book is way different than the drama, and there were some moments that made me feel a bit more irritated? there were so many thoughts in this book that made me want to just skip through it.

moreover I do think that the drama suited me well than the book, because well yeah the concept and the plot was intriguing but the way it was put out didn't suit me like the romance.

man, this was soooo good... until it wasn't. great premise, great characters and a slow building relationship between all characters. i really enjoyed the dynamic of cat and mouse between the leads in the beginning and them working together in the latter half of the book and then #that chapter happens. it feels like an unnecessary wrench thrown into the mix. it made everything came after it feel like a chore to read and made me speed read to finish this book.
if not for that, i think this would've been worthy of a four-five star read.

beda banget sama dramanya dan menurut gue jauh lebih bagus dramanya yang diperanin sama neo hu dan lu yuxiao.
persamaannya antara novel dan dramanya cuma di nama pemerannya, selanjutnya semua sifat dan karakteristik pemerannya beda semua.
dalam novelnya Ji bozai diceritain sebagai cowok yang suka gonta-ganti perempuan, semua jenis perempuan apalagi di brothel itu pernah dia cicipin.
jadi awalnya Minyi deketin ji bo Zai itu untuk mendapatkan sesuatu, dia pura-pura jadi perempuan di brothel dan nempel ke zi bozai. Sampai akhirnya Ming Yi benar-benar suka sama ji bo Zai dan mengira kalau zi bozai juga mencintai dia, Ming yi juga udah tidur sama ji bozai.
JBZ nya benar-benar red Flag . Waktu sama Mingyi pun dia masih suka ke brothel. Ming itu pengen supaya dia dinikahi dengan pesta besar yang semua orang tahu, karena kalau nikah kan status dia buian simpenan lagi, tapi di sini JBZ nggak mau memberikan ke Ming yi dan JBZ katanya gak pernah mau menikah.
Sampai suatu hari Mingyi tau kalau JBZ udah menikah sama putri Yilun demi kekuasaan. Mingyi yg marah ninggalin JBZ.
Yg gw gak suka nya si MY ini lalu buka harem dan milih 30 laki2 buat harem nya. Kok jadi macam sluth gini sih.

Walau di kemudian di ceritain JBZ nya nikah sama Yilun cuma di atas kertas. Mingyi udah gak percaya Jbz.
Setelah di tinggal Mingyi si JBZ nyesal dan ngejar2 Mingyi.
lalu cerita nya berubah fokus, mingyi jd macam aktivis feminis dan merubah dunia supaya para wanita bisa setara sama pria.
Disini udah makin gak jelas cerita nya. Mingyi berhasil jd penguasa kota yg punya banyak harem entah di tidurin apa enggak gw gsk tau. tapi ada 1 harem favorit nya dan mereka tidur sekamar.
JBZ jg jd lelaki gak punya harga diri yg selalu ngejar Mingyi dan memohon2, sampe 10 thn baru Mingyi mau nikah sama dia setelah umur nya 30 thn.
Gak masuk akal si JBZ yg womanizer itu bisa selibat 10 thn tanpa wanita.
Sebener nya cerita awal nya menjanjikan sebelum di pertengahan cerita berubah jadi macam chicklit independent woman.
Banyak nyeritain ttg kesuksesan mingyi yg mengangkat derajat wanita sampai wanita jg bisa jd menteri di kerajaan dan JBZ support semua kata mingyi walau di tentang menteri2 nya.
So weird!!
Karena kan gak mungkin di zaman tiongkok kuno perempuan bs jd menteri.
Banyak gw skip2 jg saking aneh dan ngebosenin nya.
Kayaknya gw gak bakal baca novel2 lain dr pengarang ini.

Love in the Clouds, Captivating start, full of promise. But somewhere along the way, the heart went missing. The romance was brushed past, not lived in. By the end, their twists felt petty, childish...

The plot was cute with the set up, but honestly there’s too many filler chapters and side quests that are not related to the plot. The author took way too long to get to the point and once you think the story is done. Miscommunication arc that took forever for them to reconcile.

The book started out really good, it was sexy and intriguing, then after the tournament, it got boring and dragged on and on. What made the book interesting was the chemistry between two characters and after the romance died down, I lost interest, though I finished the book to see if it gotten better. It just went downhill, from there on.
