Hoot is a very small owl and Holler a much bigger one. Every night they play together in the Great Wood. They love each other very much, but Hoot is too little to say so and Holler is just too shy. One night a great storm blows them to opposite ends of the wood. Hoot cannot find Holler and Holler cannot find Hoot. Wise Owl's advice gives them the courage to find each other and makes them realize how important it is to tell a friend just how you feel.
A brilliant book for my owl storytime! Apparently all the new cute picture books are coming from English writers, at least the ones about owls and cats. I loved this book! It was found for me by the children's librarians at my local library and it is so cute! It's about a big owl named Holler and a small owl named Hoot who love playing with each other but have never told the other owl that, until one day when Hoot is separated from Holler during a storm. Holler goes to the wise old owl for advice and he says Holler must be brave and call loudly for his friend. So he does and Hoot feels the same when they finally catch up with each other. Message of the story: important to tell others how you feel.

Hoot, a little owl, and Holler, a bigger owl, are best friends. They enjoy each other's company. They enjoy the same activities. But neither lets the other know how much that friendship means. One day they get separated and each fears that the other doesn't want to be friends anymore. Still they each look for the other. A wiser old owl gives the advice that friends need to let each other know how they feel. This is a touching story that emphasizes the importance of letting people know how important they are to you.
A story with the message that you should never be too shy to say what's important to your friends. My daughter thought that it was a little sad, but liked the ending. And the bats are cool!
A rather run-of-the-mill story of friendship between two owls who end up loosing each other after a storm. One must overcome his natural shyness to find his friends.
