An incredible and heartbreaking ending to a series I fell in love with. It stretched my mind, broke my heart, and pissed me off. Just when you think you know someone!!!! READ IT!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ IT!!!
QUOTE: 'I am not proud. you should know that. I don't think I could be more fucked than this. And tell me... What wouldn't you do for the Crown?' - Daryan.
THOUGHTS: I hate it when things don't go my way. I hate that it didn't end how I wanted it and for that I absolutely would give this 1 star technicalities be damned. But I'm not that petty and this .... This book was absolutely amazing and it deserves all five stars. (Im gonna go sulk on a corner)
Let me just word vomit a lot about Omaar though. Like how he was absolutely perfect for her, how he was the representation of all the people who get into a relationship with someone who has only known toxic love. Reeva hurts him so much, uses him, manipulates him and all the time he takes it because this guy would worship at her alter, and he proved it from the very start, and she couldnt see past her obsession with the "cockroach." I devoured this entire book in 2 days because of his relationship with her. Hoping he would get her in the end... Even when the information was given halfway through that would have made it questionable (I don't care, it doesn't count!) their bond felt the most natural and I shall pretend in my head he only waits one lifetime before she returns home to him (yes I too am a dreamer!) I'm glad that scene of raw desperation with the dust didn't play out between them and they were interrupted... I think it would have been cruel to add it to their story and painted him as something he wasn't.
I love that he is the one who breaks that toxic cycle for her.
This book goes into the reincarnation idea with more depth, it takes us on a mission of intel gathering and while doing so we see through the eyes of Reeva, Daryan, Omaar and Mori. With this book showing more of Omaar's voice this time. Which since he was my favourite I absolutely devoured. His voice is unique and very fitting for his romantic ways. He was a man who wanted the best for Reeva no matter what it took.
In Daryan's POV we actually get to see him evolve and how he rules. I actually believe he would have been best with Anoshee. And though I still absolutely hated him and his sleazy ways I liked once he was rid of Reeva how he grew in his role.
Mori... I actually lost interest in him in book 2 and still feel his chapters in this book were mostly unnecessary I genuinely didn't give a plop about him and his relationship with Gigi and I actually skipped a few of his chapters because they just seemed irrelevant. And doing so didn't make me lose any vital information to plot. I suspect the only reason his voice was kept is due to the way it ends. As without his voice he really wouldn't have been in the story much at all since he spent much of his time away, this giving the reader no reason to support him.
As for Reeva I dunno really if I liked her or not. She acted selfishly most of the time, and was very toxic in her personality. But having read her past it is understandable why she was like that. I hated how she would treat Omaar when he tried to care for her. Acting one minute like a friend and then the next slapping him or shouting at him. Much in the same way she treated mori in the previous books too. I felt she was the one who didn't have much growth in maturity until near the end when she felt a bit more stable. Making her hard to empathise with but also cheering her on when she was bold enough to take risks.
Lux and Ymir were both well written characters.
I was worried that it would tilt heavy into time travelling (something I'm really not fond of) but it only skims it which worked out in my favour because it did have the potential to take that route.
This is the last book in the trilogy, the writing throughout the books vastly improves and this one has incredible and beautiful artwork in it too. Set unlike Soul Dealer, correctly at the end or beginning of chapters.
The story was well written and I enjoyed every damn moment. With all the yearning of the second book gone this one flows at a much quicker pace and with way more interesting plot and development of characters.
I usually donate self published books to charity or library for them to be read and discovered by others.... But I don't want to part with this trilogy so it shall remain on my shelf as trophies until I am willing to let them go.
I will follow I. Mazyar wherever she goes! She gave us another absolutely incredible book in a series that I will love forever. Thank you so much for this.
She writes in such a way that I am absolutely in this world along with these characters and so connected. When they hurt I hurt, when they are hopeful I am hopeful when they are sassy I too feel sassy.
Such a beautifully tragic end and my wishful thinking is there are some nuggets to continue the story because believing it is over is something I cannot imagine.
In this final book we feel all of the emotions and the story continues to unravel, there are moments of shock, moments you want to reach in and smack the characters, give them a hug and just mourn along with them.
If you have not yet picked up this series I absolutely recommend you do. It is dystopian, romance, enemies, lovers, psychos, forbidden love, obsession, and we get 4 different POVs.
It has taken me a minute to figure out how to put what I wanted to say into words. I read Mask Dealer and instantly fell in love with the writing style, the dystopian genre, AND the characters of the book. I went right into reading Soul Dealer and as more of the story unfolded, I wasn’t sure what to think. By the end of Soul Dealer, I was left speechless. Then I had the pleasure of reading End Deal, and Let. Me. Tell. You…I was left feeling every emotion there was. I don’t think I have EVER had so many WTF moments while reading one page in my whole life. Then came the tears. By the end, I felt like I had been chewed up and spit out. This book was so well written that I really hope there is more to the story. Hold on to your britches, because you are in for a wild ride with this book!!
This book was so much more than I expected... it was too much, but still not enough. I will miss this series because it made me feel on a totally new level, it spoke directly to my soul. Beautiful, addictive, exceptional...
End Deal was the conclusion I needed, the devastating finale of this heartbreaking love story. I was obsessed with every page of this book... and this series...
I have been dying to get this book in my hands !! And finally did so I was so happy !! It is the last book of the series and it’s been bittersweet. So many twists!! So so good I didn’t want it to end. 10/10 recommend!
