Perfect for fans of fairy tales and Studio Ghibli, this gorgeous fantasy graphic novel adapted from the hit WEBTOON comic tells the story of a girl on an epic quest to rescue her grandmother in a world populated by fairy tale characters.
Wen lives with her grandmother in a land of fairy tales. She has never seen the world outside her home and the magical barrier that protects them.
One day, a mysterious prince collapses just beyond the barrier and Wen crosses over it to help him. In the confusion, a strange boy and his flock of ravens descend and abduct Wen’s grandmother. Wen decides to travel with her newfound friend, Prince Corliss, and his trusty companion Theo the swallow, on a quest to save her grandmother.
Along the way, she discovers that the outside world isn’t as magical as she once thought, and danger lurks around every corner. But with the help of her friends, she is determined to unravel the mystery of the boy with the ravens, and more importantly, the mystery of her own past.
Continuing their search for the Morning Star, Wen, Prince Corliss, and Theo discover that not everyone is who they appear to be after Hamelin’s betrayal puts the group in grave danger.
With her trust now broken, Wen struggles with whether she is truly ready to take on the real world. Things begin to look up as their journey finally leads them to the castle of The Lady of the Sun, though her fixation on Corliss grows concerning…

Wen and Corliss are literally so precious 🥰 The snowball fight was adorable and I’m so excited that this series is in physical print now! Everything is starting to get mysterious and new characters are entering the plot, so I’m looking forward to read the third book releases…next year! 😭
Main Content-
Magic-
This fairytale setting does have magic in it with magic users being hunted down by the villain and his minion & the villain stealing their magic and turning the person into stone (which are all seen on-page with the villain sucking the soul (also called their “life force”) out of someone and turning the winged-girl into stone); Attempted abductions are also shown on-page; Mentions of this happening and those being taken; Our main characters are on the hunt for answers in this volume as to why this has happened, where their loved ones are, and tracking down others who can help them.
Corliss and Theo are both under a curse (including Corliss being told to do something and being compelled to do it; He tells Wen to activate the curse in order to protect her, but she does not due to knowing that it hurts him); *Spoilers* ; Someone is able to see that Corliss and Theo are under a strong curse & says it’s common to lose memories through curses; *Spoilers* .
*Major Spoilers, but a character has a new ability* .
Wen’s grandmother was a magic user as well and there’s a illustration of her hand being feathered.
Wen recalls her grandmother telling her a story about the “Lady of the Sun” who takes care of the sun by making sure it rises every morning and makes it go home every night; This character is also seen on-page and interacted with (not just a bedtime story which is what Wen thought it was), & the main characters witness her pulling the sun down for the night with a magical rope (from her own magic); The “Lady of the Sun” has “fire spirits” helping her in her castle (like maids and are very cute); The “Lady of the Sun” has a magic telescope that can see anything under the sun and you can find what you are looking for by thinking of it; The “Lady of the Sun”s name is Helia and she is able to alter her appearance to appear younger and says that she doesn’t have a set “look” because she’s very powerful; *Spoilers about the “Lady of the Sun”* .
A new character is a raven can talk to Wen in her mind (only she can hear him because of a bond) and says he is a “familiar” to someone (at least, he thinks so).
Both Wen and Corliss have dreams where they are able to talk to someone (whose face is covered and her identity is a secret); Wen recalls her grandmother saying that dreams have meanings.
Negative Content-
No language stronger than ‘idiot’ being used once.
Wen lies to keep Corliss from feeling bad and worrying about her.
Fighting & Blood (not detailed and not heavily shown (2-3 pages/images); Wen feels strange when thinking about how she harmed another (in self-defense) as she’s never hurt someone before physically); Being chased & Falling down a mountain.
A nightmare of being surrounded by ravens (which are under the villain’s orders).
Wen feels hurt after a betrayal in Volume 1 (which greatly bothers her that it happened and could happen again; She tells Corliss that in books, it was simple “The bad people were bad. The good people were good.” but it’s not like that in the world; Corliss says that that they can either cower and hide or learn from it & adds that the world is beautiful even with all the imperfections and there are good people out there, you just have to be brave enough to find them).
A maid says she belongs to a villain and shows the man’s mark (like a tattoo) on her arm.
Mentions of fighting, injuries, & blood/bleeding.
Romance/Sexual-
The “Lady of the Sun”/Helia has a corset-like dress that emphasizes her chest, but no skin up there is shown besides her shoulders; Her dress also has a high slit in it up her hip (not overly sexual).
The “Lady of the Sun”/Helia fawns over Corliss (since he is a boy) and has hearts around her when first seeing him, tugs his arm to her chest when walking close to him, touches his arm and shoulders often, blushes around him, and ignores Wen and Theo; Theo comments that Helia’s only interest seems to be men (which seems to be true as she fawns over Corliss, comments about wishing that another man would visit, and has statues of men around her castle).
Wen is given a dress that is shorter than she’s ever worn before (some drawings make it seem like it’s barely covering her bum; Her legs cover her when she’s sitting down).
Corliss is shocked to wake up after an injury knocked him unconscious to find that he is only wearing his boxers (the caption on the page says “naked”) but it was only due to his injuries (he quickly puts on his shirt and pants); The young woman helping him trips and ends up landing on him on the bed, which looks questionable when others see the end of it happening (it’s awkward for everyone and Wen goes to protect Corliss, but the girl is actually just clumsy).
A villain’s henchman is a large man wearing no shirt and having a six-pack (not meant to be sexual).
Wen and Corliss share multiple blushes; They also embrace when he is partially shirtless (when she’s bandaging his wound) & embrace again later twice (which makes Corliss note later than Wen fit perfectly in his arms, but stops that train of thought due to being promised to someone); When Theo says the three of them should share a bedroom (due to being in a suspicious place), Wen comments that she thought he said boys and girls shouldn’t (Volume 1) and Theo says it’s best for them to stick together for that night (Wen sleeps on the sofa because Corliss is too tall for it, thus he sleeps in the bed); After a scary encounter, Wen asks to sleep holding Corliss’ hand and they fall asleep doing that.
Theo tells Wen not to fall for Corliss, but she says he is her friend; Theo also asks Corliss if he is falling for Wen, but Corliss denies it and says they are friends.
Another girl blushes often over how cute Wen and her actions are (not implied to be a crush, but because of how sweet and kind Wen is) & also blushes when seeing how cute Wen and Corliss are together.

I'm glad that I decided to try the second volume of this series, as the first volume wasn't all that stellar to me, because this volume picked it up a notch or two.
My favorite part of the book, which was in the first volume as well, still has to be the expressions on the faces of the bird characters. The Prince was being SUPER SMOOTH(tm) with the MC h and the birds were SO unimpressed, lol. I legit lol'd when I came to that sequence.
The story is rather dark, with souls being taken without consent by Bad Guys to fuel their powers. It is shown, both the process and the aftermath, which isn't very nice, so I would say this is definitely for older more mature middle grade and higher.
3, the story is picking up and hopefully we get some answers soon, stars.
My thanks to Wattpad WEBTOON Unscrolled for an eARC of this book to read and review.

This volume was such a joy to read. I loved how the cast continues to expand, and the growing sense of found family really stood out to me.
The character dynamics are easily one of the best parts, especially Wen and Corliss. They’re genuinely so sweet together, and their interactions add a lot of warmth to the story. And Theo is still my fav obv. 🤭
The story keeps that soft, cutesy charm while slowly building more depth, which makes it such an easy and comforting read. It gives very Disney and Ghibli vibes, and I loved every second of that.
Overall, a really magical and wholesome continuation that I had a great time reading.

The Raven Saga continues in volume 2! I really enjoy this lighthearted fantasy graphic novel series. It is perfect for fairytale lovers. This volume had some great twists. I was also glad we were given more information on the character’s backstories. Friendships and relationships are beginning to blossom. I love the introduction of fairytale characters and I hope to see more of them in future volumes. My only complaint is similar to what I had about the first volume. This volume also ends rather abruptly and almost randomly. Almost as if it was in the middle of a scene. I would almost prefer a cliffhanger to this. Nevertheless, I’m excited for the volumes to come and hopefully more expansion on the world and characters!

I really enjoyed this second volume. I think it was much better than the first as the plot seemed to move a bit faster. This story was a great example of a cozy story that still has a fairly quick moving plot.
The characters are so lovable and adorable. While reading I was really interested in what they were up to and what their fates may be moving forward. I think the characters really shine and make it to where you want to see what happens to them next.
The art, of course, is stunning. I wanted to screenshot like half the book because it was so gorgeous.
I highly recommend giving this story a try! I might have to finish it on Webtoon because I don't think I can wait til the next volume comes out!

After Wen and Corliss were betrayed they are saved right after - they head out and proceed to do what they can to accomplish their goal, they encounter dangers and a new face who they soon warm up to and let tag along since they all share a common goal, to save someone dear to them. With new information and closer to their destination they are determined to save them all, together.
I swear Raven saga has become another FAVORITE, since volume 1 I been waiting for this one and was hoping for the best for this little team. I’m a 27 year old but I feel like I’m healing my inner child when I read this. Volume 2 had progressed a bit much but brings so much to the table!
Thank you net galley and wattpad webtoon book group for this e-Copy 🤍

A super cute fairytale retelling, perfect for fans of Once Upon a Time!
Continuing where we left off in the first volume, Wen, Corliss, and Theo are searching for the Morning Star, who may be able to help them save Wen's grandmother. Reading Vol. 1 first is a must.
The artwork is beautiful, and Theo and a new raven companion are hilarious. We also meet Snow White, who is Autistic coded and honestly hilariously takes the "clumsy heroine" trope to a whole new level. I hope we continue to see more of her.
Like the first volume, it did end rather abruptly but I enjoyed it overall. I recommend it to fans of low stress/cozy fantasy and fairytales.

We pick up where we left off with our protags, escaping the danger they found themselves in at the end of volume one. Along the way, they find themselves in the home of a magic woman who controls the sun, and run into Snow White, an apple grower from Corliss's kingdom. The plot deepens as more magic wielders are taken, and seem to have their souls consumed. And the raven guy returns looking for magic then leaves again? What's attracting him?
Super engaged in this story and all it's twists and turns. There were a bunch of interesting revelations in this one, and I absolutely can't wait for what happens next. So very curious. Our protags are great, watching Wen explore the world is interesting, even her reactions to snow are so sweet. I love her.

5 stars!!!!! I enjoyed it so much! You’re in for a wild ride of intrigue, mystery, magic, some romance 💘, and just heartwarming events in this wonderful fairy tale twist!
Wen and Corliss are so sweet together :) In this volume, we meet Snow; her character is based off of Snow White. She is searching for her sister, and she joins Wen’s circle of friends. The plot has enough action, and it’s just a super cute and sweet story.
The author has done an excellent job in keeping the plot interesting. I’m excited to read the next volume!

This was a great sequel it has more humor than the first and the characters are enjoyable we meet new ones, and they bring twist and turns in the story making it unpredictable. There’s a bit of romance going on within the main characters that may develop more in the future. The story was light and fun you get pulled into it there was no space for boredom in this story every page was entertaining and the characters made it more. I highly recommend this manga and to give it a try.

We continue the adventures with Corliss, Wen, and Theo from the first book to find Corliss's childhood friend and Wen's grandmother. Its a fun charming adventure where Wen gets to meet those she only heard stories about before. It's a fun read and I can't wait to go further on their journey with them as the series continues!

The art style is SO cute! And I really like the characters and the fairy-tale vibes. The plot is interesting enough, but not super original so far. However it is still well done and I enjoy the tropes.

It's been fun to see the integration of common fairytale characters, as well as some unique ones. I can't wait to see how this story will progress.
