Can the bad boy of Copper Ridge, Oregon, make good—and win the rodeo girl of his dreams?

Kate Garrett keeps life simple—working hard, riding her beloved horses, playing cards with her brothers. Lately, though, she feels a bit restless, especially when family friend Jack Monaghan is around. Sexy and shameless, Jack is the kind of trouble you don't tangle with unless you

I'm a huge sucker for this type of story: heroine falls for her older brothers' best friend. It's also set in a small town, which is another plus. Unfortunately, this was just okay for me. I should rate it lower but I loved Jack, so I'm giving it a generous three.

In this book, we have Kate who's the baby of the family. She's got two older brothers, Connor and Eli. Both of them are in a settled relationship with their significant others. Kate is feeling left behind. She doesn't really know what

Do you know this feeling when a character just rubs you the wrong way? And when a certain writing style gives you a lot of time in the head of that person, it simply chafes?

I enjoyed the previous two books in this series very much, and although it's been a while, I wanted to carry on.

Now, Bad News Cowboy - again - is not a bad book. Jack Monaghan is a yummy hero. The secondary characters, mainly the ones from the previous two books, are engaging and supportive of the story. But Kate

Kate and Jack’s story took me completely by surprise. For some reason, there was a part of me that expected not to love them as much as the other couples. In the previous books, she was the annoying little sister and he was the best friend that slept around. Turns out there was so much more to both of them. It was their undeniable chemistry, their silly banter and their strong sense of family that made me fall for them.

"You make it sound like women only want to listen to me because of
This one was definitely my favorite. I've loved Kate and Jack in all of the other books, so I was thrilled to get their story.

Kate and Jack both have some issues and their banter has always been fantastic. I enjoyed seeing them open up to each other and figure things out. Their story was mostly fluffy and adorable. The slight bit of angst didn't last too long and I really loved that we had to wait for things to get worked out.

Loved seeing Eli and Sadie and Connor and Liss. It was satisfying to

This link will go live on the 27th Got Fiction?

This is Kate's story, little sister to Eli and Connor (Part Time Cowboy and Brokedown Cowboy), and the super cool coolest thing of all? The prequel Shoulda Been a Cowboy is included at the end of the book!! (it's also free for kindle right now)

So in Kate's book, we see that she's tired of being treated like a kid. She's 23, ready to turn pro in barrel racing, and so sick of everyone thinking of her as Eli and Connor's little sister. Most especially

She knew without a doubt there were more chapters of Jack to read. And she wanted to read them. To devour them. The craving for that knowledge was so strong she ached with it.

Oh this was delicious and sweet for so many reasons. Jack Monaghan I WANT TO MARRY YOU! Lawd Moses I can't tell you how much I adored this character. He's sex on a stick and his backstory makes you want to hug him and never evah let him go. I don't even
Maisey Yates is one of my favorite authors and she has hardly ever disappointed me with her books.

We have Kate, a strong, independent heroine who was pretty much brought up by her two protective brothers. Jack, her brother's best friend has been a constant in her life also. Jack's childhood wasn't a happy one, with a missing mother and he never knew who his Father was.

We begin the story with Kate becoming more "aware" of Jack, viewing him in a knew light and realizing that something was

Life, love, and rodeo come to life in this fantastic tale by Maisey Yates. She brings Copper Ridge to life in a big way, allowing readers an inside peek at what goes on deep inside the lives and minds of her characters. Building on what’s come before it in the series, she continues to develop her characters in such a manner that they pull at your heart and become part of your life, while at the same time, creating something magical.

Kate & Jack’s individual struggles with their pasts and

My Review

This is the second book I have read by Maisey Yates. I loved the first one to pieces so having won this series in a contest I couldn't wait to start it. While looking at the 3 books I found that book 3 had one of my favorite romance tropes sister in love with brother's best friend. So I just had to read book 3 first. I know some people see reading a series out of order as blaspheme(Mom yes I am talking about you)but if it's a romance series that doesn't have a plot line running throw

The book was easy to get into as I met these characters (which many already know if you read the previous books in the series, which I didn’t). But while we meet all these others it’s definitely focused on Kate and Jack (funny story, the show I’ve been watching has Kate and Jack as the main characters- I was reading this and then quit and started watching that show and was like whoa, that’s weird!).
Kate is 23 but she’s the youngest and the only girl. She’s not experienced with boys and has never

Gah! So many feelings! This book just about ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it a few times. But it was so, so good.

I am so totally in love with Jack Monaghan. The fears he has, when trying to decide what to do about his physical attraction to Kate, in regards to his best friends, are heartrending. To grow up the black sheep of the entire community and have only these great guys as family has to be tough. Then to make a decision that could cause that friendship to fracture is

It has been a long, long time since I've read two books in a series back to back because my TBR pile is so big. So the fact that I had to grab this one right after finishing the next one says everything. A sexy, fun romance with one of my favorite tropes: little sister of hero's best friend. :)

First Impression: Well-written, fast-paced, and beautifully characterized. All the earmarks of a fantastic and engrossing read.

Maisey Yates is one of my all time favorite romance authors. Her ability to tell a deep, enriching love story combined with her extraordinary talent for in-depth characterization has made her an auto-buy author for me for years. Because she’s proven time and time again, with both her category romances

I’d like to thank author Maisey Yates for giving me the opportunity to read her third book in the Copper Ridge series,Bad News Cowboy,in exchange for a honest review.

Bad News Cowboycontinues the story of the Garrett siblings, this time featuring the youngest, Kate Garrett. Kate is happy working with her brothers on their ranch and practicing rodeo tricks with her horses. She’d like to go pro one day but feels that she’s not ready. She’s keyed up and ready for change especially now that both of

4 1/2 stars!! As with every other book in the Copper Ridge series, I found myself crying halfway through this book. The author has an undeniable ability to draw her readers into the stories and make them part of those stories, invested in those stories, and feeling right along with those characters in the stories. In all of the Copper Ridge books, the author creates complex characters and significant emotional situations, and this book is no different. We had met both Jack and Kate in previous ...more

After reading Eli's and Connor's stories, I was pretty excited to read the story of the last Garrett sibling. The set-up is promising: Jack is the bad boy womanizer who never wanted to settle down. He is the best friend of Eli and Connor, and in that sense he knows Kate since she was practically a child. Meanwhile, Kate, being brought up by two brothers, is the tomboy. She is feisty, strong-headed, and definitely not the 'feminine' kind. I wonder how it would turn out -- how Jack

Just as with ‘Brokedown Cowboy’, I was hooked to ‘Bad News Cowboy’ from the very beginning. I just love books about cowboys, country life and falling in love, and this book was all that. This book is about the Garett brothers’ little sister Kate. Kate is in her twenties and has always been protected and cared for by her two big brothers and their best friend Jack. Now Kate is trying to figure out what she wants with her life, but change is really hard for her.

Kate is definitely not your average

Bad News Cowboy by Maisey Yates is the third book in this series but the first that I have read both in this series and by the author. The cover is beautiful and eye catching and it was this that first attracted me towards this book. The blurb again is interesting and had me wanting to read the book.

Although, this one is the third book in a series but still it can be read as a standalone.

The author's writing style is engaging and she managed to hook me in the story. The characters are believable

I finished the last page of Bad News Cowboy last night before giving up the ghost and falling asleep thinking I would rate it a 4.5-5 stars. Maybe it’s the sleep deprivation but this morning I’m thinking more 3.5-4.0. I truly enjoyed this series and am sad to be done with it but I think I liked Part Time Cowboy the first book the best if I had to choose one. Here’s why I downgraded this book a little after thinking more about it. This book, the sequel to Broke Down Cowboy could have just as ...more
I read Brokedown Cowboy a couple of months back, and that was the first book I read from this series. Like all books that came before, Bad News Cowboy is also read as a standalone. Although, if you've read the previous books, you will definitely have more background on the secondary characters and how this little family came together.

Bad News Cowboy has the best friend's little sister trope. We've already met Jack, and we know that he's the player between the three men. Eli was the good sheriff,
CJ - It's only a Paper Moon
I never realized how bitchy and unpleasant Kate is and I found it extremely hard to root for her or give too many fucks about her struggles. I read this for Jack. He was the better character and frankly I thought he deserved a hell of a lot better than Kate.

For most of the book.

I still think he deserves better but Kate slowly becomes someone you can see with Jack. I won't say you suddenly love her and want to be her best friend but she is a lot less irritating and asshole-ish than the first
