Jill Shalvis is a NYT, USA Today, and Amazon Top 100 bestselling author of small-town romance and romcoms, known for big feels, found family, and plenty of shenanigans.

If you love small-town chaos, meddling friends and neighbors, sizzling chemistry, and heroes who fall hard for the one woman they absolutely did not plan on, you’re in the right place. Jill’s books blend laugh-out-loud moments with emotional gut punches, slow-burn tension, and deeply earned happily ever afters.

She writes the stories she loves to read: small-town romance and romantic comedies packed with heart, heat, second chances, grumpy/sunshine sparks, and the kind of found-family vibes that make you want to move right into the pages. Many of her series are perfect for binge-reading, and a number of her books are available in Kindle Unlimited and at major retailers.

When I started reading Superb and Sexy by Jill Shalvis, I knew I was in for a very sexy, fun and fast-paced reading adventure. There is nothing I love better than snappy dialog and steamy chemistry between the main characters that heat up the pages throughout the story. This book easily delivered everything I love about reading romance and more!

Maddie Stone knows she is in trouble. Uprooting her life to help her twin sister, she has left her job that she loved, friends that she cared for, and Brody, the one man who disturbs her well balanced world. Not only is he one of the partners in the airline she works for, he is the man she has secretly desired. Smart, stubborn and sexy as heck, she can’t seem to get him off of her mind.

Hiding out with her sister in a secluded cabin, Maddie is more than surprised when Brody arrives on her doorstep to whisk her back to the life she once cherished so much. Not able to come with him without putting her sister into danger, she refuses his request to come home and for his help. She knows she must push Brody away because of her past, and the lies she has had to tell. Also, there are secrets she must keep from him to protect him from the danger that is following her and her sister.

Brody West has every intention of bringing Maddie back home. Using the excuse that the airline doesn’t run as well without her, he is more than a little surprised to discover that she has a twin sister. He quickly comes to the conclusion that Maddie and her sister are in some kind of trouble. Although Maddie tries to brush him off, Brody becomes determined to help her. He leaches himself onto her problems and insists on helping her, despite her many protests. When Maddie’s sister takes off without warning, Maddie finds herself relying on Brody more than she intended, and soon starts to open up to him about she and her sister’s scandalous past.

I really liked that pretty early on in the book Brody and Maddie decide to work as a “unit”. Even with Maddie’s protest that she can handle the situation by herself, she soon starts relying on Brody on a physical as well as in a very emotional level. I loved how Brody and Maddie’s relationship continued to grow throughout the book. The chemistry between them was fantastic! Between the sizzling attraction for one another and the obvious affection they have for one another, they were a very interesting, compelling couple to read about. There were many laugh out loud moments for me throughout reading Superb and Sexy. But, it is not all fun and games. There are some very serious moments as well as some suspense in this book as well.

Superb and Sexy is the third book in the Sky High Air series. The first two books written for the Sky High Air series are: Strong and Sexy and Smart and Sexy. In my opinion, this story can be read as a stand alone book. It is not necessary to read the previous two books written in this series to understand what is going on. But, I would suggest reading all of them because they are quick, sexy and fun books and will give readers several hours of enjoyment.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book! With a feel happy ending that Brody and Maddie deserve Superb and Sexy has found a place on my keeper shelf.

He wanted her more than he’d ever wanted a woman. Hell, more than he’d ever wanted a plane, and that was saying something.

I love grumpy heroes and the gruff and broody Brody is definitely my kind of guy. He doesn’t say much, loves flying and planes and his loyalty to his friends and business partners Shayne and Noah made me love him even more. He grew up dirt poor which made him just work that much harder and I loved that he appreciated what he had, that he didn’t take it for granted. I also loved how Maddie made him lose his unruffled and stern composure like no one else, it was hilarious and wonderful.

Because he was her air. She’d die before admitting it, but fact was fact. In a world gone a little mad, he was her axis.
If she was being honest, he’d always been.

I adored the wild and feisty Maddie, how tough she was but also how warm and loyal she was to those she cared about. She’s used to fighting her own battles and I could understand her wanting to keep Brody out of her troubles.

The sparks between these two has been pretty spectacular since the first book, both lusting after the other but neither making a move and I loved the sometimes hostile and other times playful banter between them. And seeing how determined Brody was to keep Maddie safe, to help her with whatever trouble she was in no matter how hard she tried to push him away, made me love their romance even more. I loved how neither could keep their hands off each other and seeing them finally give into their attraction was well worth the wait.

Jill Shalvis definitely kept the best of this series for last and I loved it!

A fairly quick, but still enjoyable read.
"Superb and Sexy" is the third and final in Jill Shalvis' 'Sexy' series. The series follows three bad boy aviators as they find the woman for them. The books are all BRAVA imprints from Kensington so they are sexier than your average romance without crossing the erotica line.

I was really looking forward to this final book as the hero and heroine have been dancing around their attraction throughout the series. Brody is the brooding bad boy with a questionable past. Maddie is the perfect woman for him, but she has kept her past a blank slate. In "Superb and Sexy" we find out just why and it's a doozy.

If you're looking for light-hearted, sexy reads, then this series should definately fit the bill.

Cute story about two people who were bound to end up tangled together either in drama or bed sheets. Working together leads to many things including Maddy getting shot and taking an extended leave of absence. Little does Noah know sweet spoiled Maddy has some hidden skeletons in her closet. Noah refuses to let Maddy deal alone and together they end up on a world wind romance leading them to the Bahamas and it's not all fun in the sun. Read the precious two of the series awhile ago and have been meaning to get back to this story and I'm glad I did.

Superb and Sexy is a fabulous conclusion to Jill Shalvis Sky High Air Trilogy.

Finally we get Maddie & Brody’s story – she’s been my favorite character in this series and after the hot clinch between her and Brody in the previous book, I was eager to see where their hot chemistry would take them to.

Wow, this is such a funny and quirky OTT ride !!!!!

Mobsters, jewel thieves, lost sisters, kidnappings….couldn’t keep up …LA , some island in the Caribbean, New Orleans….boats, planes, cars…wewwww….. I was absolutely amazed how much people can do in one day, be in so many places so quickly…oh yes, I forgot – Brody has his own plane – after all he does own an airline, so I guess that makes it possible!!! And yes, this is fiction, it’s fantasy – and did I enjoy the ride!!!!!

The sexy, beautiful, feisty, totally independent and beyond capable concierge at Sky High Air, has a super crush on Brody, the so gorgeous and sexy Sky High Air pilot sure have to go through a hell of a lot of running, flying, escaping around before finally getting their breaths back and going off into the sunset to have their, naturally, HAPPY EVER AFTER!!!

Okay, this book will not win any Pulitzer prize but it will leave you with a smile on your face, after having so many laughing moments as you turn page after page. The dialogue is really terrific and one of the things I enjoyed.

At times, both Maddie & Brody were a bit irritating with all their squabbling – and the times Maddie “ran” off, leaving Brody stranded, because she didn’t want him to be in danger from the nasties in her past!! Logical it ain”t. Come on, give the guy a break – he’s an alpha-male and they take care of us woman, right!!! And Brody, does it think having sex will solve all their problems??? Allright, a bit harsh here but damn every second chance was like…okay let’s make love!!!!

This is a fast-paced adventure filled with romance suspense, sexual tension and the some really wacky characters thrown in.

Here’s the book synopsis:

It was clear while reading Strong and Sexy that Brody and Maddie had some serious chemistry, and I was eager to see them together. So I decided to pick up book three in the Sky High Air series by Jill Shalvis. Superb and Sexy was okay for me. It didn't wow me, but I certainly didn't dislike it either.

Superb and Sexy takes place shortly after the events of Strong and Sexy. Maddie, who is the concierge at Sky High Air, was severely injured at the end of the previous book. She's been recuperating for months, but decides not to come back to Sky High Air. Maddie is fantastic at her job, and the three owners try to convince her to come back. Brody goes out to try to convince her, but soon realizes there are other things going on in Maddie's life. As he tries to help Maddie out, of course their feelings grow for each other.

My feelings for this book are really just right in the middle. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other, to be honest, so this is going to be a rather short review. While I liked Maddie and Brody, I was never really in love with them. Sometimes they would both do things that would annoy me. That said, I was happy when they were able to work out their issues and get together.

There is a romantic suspense element to this one, and I definitely found it to be mediocre. I guess what I'm saying is, Superb and Sexy by Jill Shalvis is an okay novel. But she has many other novels that are just fantastic, and I would recommend those over this one any day. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

18/6 - I immediately got the feeling that the book is telling me "You should have read the first two books first. You've been warned." They keep talking about past events and stuff I would've known if I'd read books one and two. I wish publishers would put series number/position on the publishers page or the 'other books by this author' page, it would be really useful to us readers who like to read a series in order.

Unless I go to the library with a plan of a book to borrow, not usually something I can do unless I've already put the book on hold beforehand, I have no idea what I'm going to borrow, it's just impulse and whatever strikes my fancy in that minute. Occasionally you get lucky and the first book in the series is right there waiting for you, but not often, and when I risk it I usually end up with a mid-series book (like with this book, I'd just picked up a Lucky Harbour book and thought I'd check out something else by Shalvis not in the same series). To be continued...

19/6 - In the end I liked him, but not so much her. I didn't understand her continued reticence towards a more long-term relationship with Brody, no proper explanation was given for why Maddie was more comfortable with a no-strings kind of thing, just that she was. He on the other hand was much more loveable, the alpha male who falls hard and says "I love you" first - always makes my heart melt when that happens.

I thought the 'danger' from uncle Rick was negligible, I didn't feel any tension or fear from any of the characters when they were discussing or interacting with him, or any of his goons. We're told they're the bad guys, but they felt so cardboardy that if I hadn't been told that he was a bad guy, I would never have known. Rick's compared to Tony Soprano and cement shoes are brought up, but it was a bit of a joke. If Tony ever met Rick he'd knock him out with one punch, tie him up in the basement (no need to worry about Rick's men, they'd take one look at a real 'dangerous man' and be on the first boat off the island) and teach him a thing or two about how to intimidate people. Thinking about Rick and his intimidation tactics makes me want to start singing "That Don't Impress Me Much" to his face.

I was in the mood for some Jill Shalvis but had read everything new she had put out in recent years. So I decided to go back and revist her Sky High series with SUPERB AND SEXY. This series is a little bit different from what Shalvis writes now. It has a little bit of a mystery subplot to go along with the romance. While this series has been enjoyable to read, I definitely think Shalvis has become more of a polished wrier with her books now.

In SUPERB AND SEXY, Brody tries to weasel his way into Maddie’s life despite her best efforts to get rid of him. It involves a little hassling, some breaking and entering but at least it’s all made with good intentions, right?

Maddie has his own set of problems that she desires to keep away from her hot employer but she should know by now that Brody doesn’t take well to rejection. The little suspense plot is a nice little touch to this book. However, I think the real magic happens when Brody and Maddie are together, just being themselves. Shalvis’ writing has definitely improved with the years, but you can still see the talent in this series. She’s so good at creating humor and chemistry that it feels authentic to the story and definitely had me smiling throughout.

Having finished this series off, I only have Shalvis’ baseball series and a couple more of the firefighter ones to read until I can say I’ve devoured her entire backlist, but until then, I’ll have to get my grubby hands on more Shalvis! I can’t seem to get enough of her!

I liked it. But I knew I would. The storyline wasn't typical, so it took some stretching to relate. But the emotions were still all there. Brody, one of the owners, goes after Maddie, the office manager, when she mysteriously quits and takes off. He manages to track her down and ends up in the middle of fierce family issue involving international jewelry design fraud. Weird. Anyway, they end up on the winning end of that battle and fall in love to boot.

I liked Maddie. She was quite the badass. Would love to have a even a little of that. But that's why I read! Great HEA. Just wish I had more time to read, like the rest of the world right now.

Are pilots sexy? Turns out hell yes they are really freaking insanely hot. Damn. I'm definitely on board where Brody is concerned. The man would make any book totally worth the time. Superb and Sexy was an easy read with a surprise or two along the way and even though I had a couple things that didn't quite work for me it was still an enjoyable read.

Now, don't get me wrong. There's humor and lightness and it's a sexy read like you'd expect from Shalvis but for some reason I'm just not clicking with this series like I do with everything else Shalvis writes. And I think it has some to do with the heroines and the suspense aspect...

Superb and Sexy it picks up a little after the last book with the hero Brody hunting down their airport concierge that's gone AWOL and is pretty much ignoring all the guys at Sky High Air after she was injured on the job. And things with her are...not quite right. She's got some major family drama unfolding that's put her in danger and in come Brody trying like hell to help.

I did like the two together. The sexy times are sexy and a little different. She's got some issues and always wants things hard and fast and poor Brody wants to savor this woman he's completely smitten with....
"Do we really have time before we fly back to Sky High?" Her hands came around his sides, his ribs, sliding up his chest, bringing his shirt with them. "I know how you are about time." When she got the hem of his shirt up past his pecs, she leaned in and pressed her lips over his heart.

Killing him..

"Brody?"

"When getting naked with the woman of your dreams is on the table, there's always time."

Her breath huffed against his skin. "I'm the woman of your dreams?"

"Dreams. Nightmares. Pick one."

Yeah I was all twisted and tied up in Brody. The man is fine and has a nice little devious edge to him. He's not adverse to a little B&E and I loved that about him. He's got an interesting past too. And the man totally nailed it where Maddie's concerned.... dreams...nightmares...pick one.

My kinda sorta issue was indeed with Maddie. I liked her some of the time. And she has her heart in the right place with everything she does but just doesn't think things through. She's got too big of a "I can handle this on my own--back off" thing going which annoys me. She'd rather throw herself into danger and run from the people who love her than accept their help. It just. It got old fast and I just got tired of her constant running and tstl moments. Yeah I know, I'm a little hard on my heroines but I expect more of them I guess.

If you can bite back belief now and again where the suspense storyline comes into play (like her suddenly being able to craft designer jewelry to get out of a jam) Superb and Sexy really is a fun read. I had an issue or two but the good bits far outweigh the eye twitchy ones. If you're looking for a light, easy read to jump into on a hot summer day give it a go.

What a fun trilogy this turned out to be. I enjoyed all three books immensely, and I’ve been looking forward to Brody and Maddie’s story after all their bantering and longing for each other throughout the previous two books. Ms. Shalvis did not let me down in this final installment of the series. It’s light and fun with a hint of darkness, wonderful characters both old and new, an interesting storyline, and a romance worthy of the two main characters.

After six weeks of screw-ups at Sky High Air, Brody West has finally tracked Maddie Stone down to get her to come back to her job and save them all from the madness that’s taken over during her recuperation after being shot on the job, which we read about in the previous book. He’ll beg if he has to, drag her back if he has to. Whatever it takes. They need her. What he doesn’t expect and stops him dead in his tracks is the fear and vulnerability he now sees in his Maddie. He’s also seeing two of her. She never mentioned she has a twin sister, and the more closed-mouthed she gets and tries to get rid of him, the higher his bullshit meter rises.

Maddie tries to keep Brody at bay when it comes to the life she never told him about. She thought she’d left all the fear and manipulation behind, but she got only ten years of freedom before pulled back into that life again. But she can’t turn her back this time. Her twin sister is asking for her help to finally leave the tropical island where they grew up and where their uncle used them for his own purposes. But Brody is having none of her excuses, her tricks to scare him off. Giving in for now, she’ll find another way later to keep him safe.

Maddie learns, however, there’s more to Brodie than she thought and he sticks to her side, especially after a couple of her failed attempts to send him a wild goose chase to keep him far away from her and her familial danger. Each of them eventually come the realization that it’s not just lust between them anymore, they’d give their life for the other and that sentiment comes close to happening when it comes to Maddie’s Uncle Rick and his criminal ways. I loved how each of them looked at their growing albeit unrealized love for each other, Maddie wanting to keep Brody safe by making him stay away and Brodie doing the same by not leaving her alone to her own devices. And things do go much more smoothly when they finally work together.

I’m sorry to see this series end. But that just means I’ll be scouring around the house pulling out all of my other Jill Shalvis books. I’ve become a huge fan of hers and look forward to reading anything by her I can get my hands on.

This was probably my favorite entry, mostly because I loved Maddie's kick ass attitude and the fact that she didn't take crap from anyone, especially Brody. And Brody, well, he's all kinds of hot and secretly sweet and I love that. Unlike the second entry, there is some in-air time and travel, which makes sense, given that Brody is the primary pilot for Sky High, with Shayne as backup/running the business and Noah doing adventure trips. They added a pilot, Jason, which made me wonder - will he get a story? And given the ending of #2, that made sense. It helped, however, to make it so that Brody could help Maddie.

Loved that Maddie had a twin - I'd call it a spoiler, but, uh, it's written in the summary above, so...but it was great; especially when they tried to fool Brody. He knows Maddie too well, however. One of the best scenes in the whole series is Brody acting as if he thinks Maddie is Leena (her twin) and pretending like he just wants to make out with the sister to see if she's like Maddie. LOL. Loved. It. You could practically see the steam coming out of Maddie's ears. So jealous.

Also great? Maddie thinking she knows Leena, when in truth, she didn't know her as well as she thought; Ben was more alpha and kick ass than I bet Maddie expected for her sister. A mini love story within the love story. And then, of course, there was the whole bit with Leena actually going to Ben instead of going back to Stone Cay.

It was fun going into this knowing that Brody and Maddie already had a thing for each other which was the elephant in the room. She kissed him in #2 saying, basically, "You think I'm hot for Shayne now? Huh? Didn't think so." What was the nice surprise was that they brought so much more to the table for each other than just the hot sex.

Which was steaming, by the way. You can tell these two are the rebels, because, with Noah and Bailey, it was "Oops, we forgot a condom. Oh well, we're both clean and protected by the pill, so we're all good" and then Shanyne and Dani were "I've got condoms. Oh, you do, too, just the right size for me. Yay!" and then with Brody and Maddie? "What condoms? What questions about STD testing? Or if you're on the pill? Who cares? We just want the hot sex!" Yep, fit the characters to a tee. What do you want to guess if Jason ever gets a story we find out that Brody and Maddie are the first two with kids? Hehe.

Overall, a great entry to the series. I'd welcome more stories - Sky High Air is growing, so why can't the pilot roster grow with it? Huh, Jill? Maybe when you've exhausted Sunshine and Lucky Harbor, you can go back to Sky High? I'd read that.

It was okay. I liked Brody's character better than Maddie's pov. This might be the first novel I read where I really didn't wanted to read from the heroines' pov since Brody's pov was very well writtern. I really didn't like Maddie that much. She just didn't seem like the heroine I want to read about. I understand she had a tought time but so did Brody and look at him. I thought his personality was much better than Maddie's. I wish her character was stronger and I didn't like her always thinking that she is better off by herself when she clearly loved Brody. So I really didn't like all that drama but what kept me reading this novel was their attraction to each other. It was cute and a little hot. Overall, I just wish Maddie's character was different that would have made me like this book a little more because the concept and the hero were all good except for our heroine!

I do hope there are more books in this series. This sort of just ended and although Maddie and Broody have come to show one another their feelings, there is so much more to learn about them. This ending was way too abrupt. Thinking we need a story about Jason too!

Well, I have to say I’m glad I stuck with this series. Each of the books was an improvement on the one before. I think this one hooked me much more quickly because I was already invested in Maddie and Brody from the previous books. Especially after things that happened in Strong and Sexy between the two of them.

After all of the waiting for the two of them to get together, then waiting for them to admit their feelings for each other, the ending seemed a bit abrupt. It was good, but I wanted more. I can’t pinpoint exactly what that “more” is, but I wanted it nonetheless.

I would have also liked more of Ben. We don’t get to know him very well, but from the little we are told and get to see he was an intriguing character. Yet I wasn’t crazy about Leena. Even after she grew a backbone there was just something about her that irked me. Maybe I felt protective of Maddie and felt that Leena didn’t appreciate all her sister was willing to do for her…I’m not sure.

2.5 stars

The third and final book in this series and it was the least exciting.

All three of these have been action-packed, with the action being kind of confusing. Maddie has an identical twin sister who works for her jerk of an uncle. Leena, the twin sister, runs away, gets called to do a final job, and runs right to Maddie to drag her into the trouble. Well, Brody decides to check on Maddie after she is shot in the previous book and gets dragged into the trouble, too.

Leena runs away to make a confession to some guy (previous boyfriend?), and Maddie thinks she runs to the uncle. While I don't understand why neither one of them just stayed where they were, the uncle and his goons didn't seem that smart anyway, Maddie and Brody get very close. There's some stream, but it cooled off very quickly.

This is one of the earlier books that Jill Shalvis has written, and I know they get better. I was just really excited that tough girl Maddie finally got her romance, and it fell flat for me.

Twin sisters Leena and Maddie have a criminal uncle who wants them to do his dirty work for him in the Bahamas. Neither girl wants to go back there. Maddie’s job is for Brody’s company, and she has to pull out quickly to try to rescue her sister. Maddie and Brody end up pretending to be honeymooners for the trip.
I’m a little confused about where home base is. Is it California? Burbank Hills is mentioned. If it’s California, it sure is a heck of a trip to keep going back-and-forth to the Bahamas. The flight is sure to take more than a couple hours.

I just couldn't get into this book like the rest of hers. I had a couple of problems with the plot. 1. I think twin switching has to be done REALLY well to work, and these sisters were nothing alike and didn't know much about each other. 2. I hate the whole " father figure evil bad guy who wants too kill us but needs us for his crime spree" idea. 3. The main couple just didn't work for me. Feel free to disagree.

Brody
Maddie

Brody owns a luxury charter airline and has always been satisfied with his life and love of planes, until Maddie and a kiss. Maddie works for Brody and the other guys at Sky High as the concierge. She has tried to ignore the chemistry she feels with Brody. When her twin sister Leena shows up bringing back the past she has tried to escape Brody steps in to help. I liked both Brodie and Maddie. This was a fun fast read. I always enjoy A Jill Shalvis book.

An entire series of infuriatingly stupid heroines. Every single one of these idiots CHOSE to wear high-heeled boots when the KNEW they were going to be in deadly situations and chased. It’s too bad they all survived....and the heroes are just as dumb for pursuing relationships with these dipsticks.

dumb title but great book i was giggling and kicking my feet. and the suspense was perfect especially since we were finding a lot out as Brody did too. A bit predictable but a good twist on a romance. super quick read i finished it in like 2 hours and i think it will get me out of my slump
