I won a copy on Goodreads Firstreads.

Two girls are raised by their grandmother after their mother is apparently killed by their father. Their father also ended up in a coma so no one has ever been able to prove what really happened. Now the girls are grown and are finding out that the truth of what happened may just be stranger than they ever imagined.

I am not exactly sure how to label this book. I guess it is most closely called a modern day fable. It could also be called a fantasy romance. Bot

The Pennington Christmas Curse by Gina Dickerson.
The story centres around Iysobel and Ziema, sisters who are always there for each other no matter how much they bicker throughout their lives! We begin with the loss of both their parents when they are still babies so they are subsequently raised by their Grandmother. On and off throughout their younger years they have freak occurrences of unexplainable events but once it's over it's almost swept under the rug and forgotten about.

Five Frosty Snow Covered Stars.

I was very kindly provided with a copy of The Pennington Christmas Curse for an honest review.

After having read Kaelia Awakening and instantly falling in love with Gina Dickerson's magical style of weaving a spellbinding storyline I was in no doubt that this one would be no exception. What I wasn't expecting was to be absolutely floored by it, it is an absolutely enchanting book that left me sat up until the early hours for just one more chapter. And another...

I really enjoy Gina's style of writing so when I got the chance to review The Pennington Christmas Curse I jumped at it, her stories are like modern fairy tales taking a pinch of the stories from your childhood and giving them an awesome modern twist!

The Pennington sisters have been brought up by their grandmother following the death of their mother at the suspected hands of their father who is now in a coma, they feel that their family is different and at many stages of their youth they experie

I love Gina Dickerson's style of mixing real life solid with fantasy. So much more believable than "in another time, on another planet" or "let's pretend" to the point where I get a headache.
This, I think is a stand alone story and worth the read. The characters are believable and the scenario quite within the bounds of tabloid newspaper headlines. Without giving away the plot, I loved it but wished we could find more words for "snow" ... if that is the only criticism I can find, and I am a ver

Let’s kick this thing off, I love Gina Dickerson. I am totally addicted to her delicious stories. The Pennington Christmas Curse was no disappointment. I am a total addict to Gina’s work and can’t wait to jump right into the next one! So keep writing tales for me to enjoy!
Here’s an excerpt from the book to give you a look at what has me so captivated.

The beginning of the book pulled me right in with the mysterious murder of the main characters parents. Described as a snow-tornado, it consumed th

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Jenny for letting me take part in this tour. I have previously read 2 of Gina's books and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. I would like to thank Neverland Book Tours and the author for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

At the beginning of the book we are told the background of Iysobel and Ziema story. Their mother is brutally murdered and their father who was left in a coma is the prime suspect. As the reader we find out more than Iysobel and Ziema know, there are mystical forces at work and all may not be as it seems.

The girls are brought up by their grandmother and each as dif

The Pennington Christmas Curse is a modern day magic tale with a twist of romance. Two sisters Iysobel and Ziema have both parents taken from them as babies by a wicked greedy Queen of Ice named Ezreya . They were raised by their "gran", the mother of their father who is in an apparent coma. Iysobel realizes she possesses a certain kind of magic and goes on the search to find out more about it. She then discovers her mother was the Snow Queen which was killed by Ezreya. Her sister Ziema was conj ...more

It was cool to read a story about fairy tale come true curses. I liked that the story started back with the parents being killed and slowly moved up. It gave you a real background to work with. The only th
