In all honesty I wanted to enjoy this book. The problem however was the writing didn't match the tone it was trying to convey. Many of the jokes fell flat as the world itself was not well visualized. ...more

When Shalini's adopted uncle disappears, she discovers that she inherited a warehouse in an industrial area not far from her Kensington home. There she discovers a strange clock which won't be removed from the wall, and a newspaper, The Mythical Weekly, aimed at supernaturals. Quickly accepting that this isn't a hoax and that supernatural creatures do exist, she decides that vampires and other mythical creatures must have just as much trouble

I will start this review by saying that I received an online copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange of a honest review.

The Lost Souls Dating Agency sounded like a cute and silly little book to read when I looked for something easy to distract myself and relax. It promised to be a New Adult book - a category I don't read much - but I thought that with the right dosage of fun, fantasy and romance it would be nice.
It started quite well with a small mystery that got my attention. It also he

This is such a fun book. Written in a really chatty first person style, Shalini’s foray into the business of matchmaking is a quick, easy, thoroughly enjoyable tale mixing paranormal with the mundane, and poking plenty of fun at traditional stories and tropes.

Much as I enjoyed this book, I have to admit the premise is pretty shaky. Firstly, where does Shalini’s business acumen come from? She refers to it once or twice when she’s deciding what to do with the warehouse, but it comes out of nowhere

Book Review- The Lost Souls Dating Agency by Suneeti Rekhari

Shalini Gupta’s uncle disappears and leaves her an abandoned warehouse in Melbourne, Australia. She decides to use it instead of sell it. She comes up with the most unique idea of starting a dating service for the supernatural. She believes that with so many similar stories in the past that they have to be real.
With the help of the Mythical Creatures Weekly and her two friends, she opens the agency. Her first client is a vampire and her

I was quite intrigued to find out what this new author would do with her paranormal dating service as I have read a series with a similar theme. The idea of a dating service for the supernatural community is an hilarious one and indeed the author does use a light hearted approach with characters that are very appealing. There are still quite a lot of things to be revealed I think as at the end of this book I was left with questions but this is an interesting beginning .
The heroine Shalini has a

I received a free copy of this title from NetGalley.

I feel like this book has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it;s not living up to any of that potential at the moment. Based on the NetGalley blurb, I was expecting this book to be a sort of supernatural matchmaker meets a Veronica Mars-style character. The individual pieces of a great book are all there, it's just the execution that's lacking.

I think even if Shalini had a few breadcrumbs from her uncle prior to inheriting the warehouse, i

This book was a really interesting take on YA paranormal romance. It manages to throw a college girl into the supernatural world in a completely unique way.

Shalini grew up in India and was happy being raised by her adoptive dad until college time rolled around. She decided to spread her wings and go to Australia. Everything appears to be going well until her dad misses their weekly call. Shalini finds herself the recipient of an inh

Shalini has moved to Australia, from India, to attend a university and experience life. Things are on track when she receives word that her uncle has disappeared and left her a mysterious, run-down warehouse. After much consideration, she decides to fix-up the warehouse and open a dating agency. She decides she wants her business to stand out from the rest so when a newspaper that talks of supernatural beings is delivered to her office, her business adventure goes from normal to paranormal.

* I received this copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank You Netgalley and Escape Publishing for letting me review this book.**

I saw the title of this book and just knew I wanted to read it. I love supernatural-paranormal books and this seem like a cool twist on that genre. I went in not knowing a lot and excited to read a new book. The first thing that really annoyed me was the writing style, it just seem so...blah. It seem like she was explaining everything and there was n

Well this could have been a great story but the author decided to make it more of a very long teaser with a cliffhanger ending.

Not too much to say since the story meanders around, introduces us to the supernatural world of the authors making (which was interesting) and then leads us through many pages of "a day in the life" and ends up with a cliff hanger just when it was getting really good, almost nothing has been solved, I detest this kind of blackmail by authors and try not to to support it.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

THE LOST SOULS DATING AGENCY was such a fun book to read. The characters and story line where very well-developed. Have you ever thought about " Where do supernaturals go to find a date or their soul mate?" When you have tried everything available to you and you just cannot find that special someone. Well with THE LOST SOULS DATING AGENCY you will be matched with the perfect soul mate for you. When Shalini inherits a warehouse fro

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review through Netgally and Escape Publishing.

This is an easy paranormal teen read that grabs your imagination instantly. I'm pretty sure writing about a 'supernatural dating agency' run by a human girl is unique. It read well and I liked the main characters although the cliff hanging end was quite abrupt. If definitely read the sequel as my interest is piqued.

2.5 stars

I found this book to be a quick, easy and entertaining read until the last few chapters. The main character irritated me during the last parts of the book and I found myself yelling 'Are you stupid?!' at my Kindle several times.
This book was half way there for me, hence the half way marks.
