A record-breaking weather system has stalled over Oklahoma, tearing through the same stretch of land again and again. Supercells keep firing, rivers breach their banks. Tornadoes touch down by the hour and no one knows when it will stop.
Enter STORMFRONT, a team of scientists who've spent the last five years developing experimental tech that just might stall out a storm, and the data this outbreak provides could change their world.
For Nova Landry, a storm chaser and atmospheric scientist still haunted by the day Katrina nearly swallowed her whole, it’s the kind of pattern she’s spent her life preparing for.
For Waylon Brooks, a fifth generation rancher bound to his father’s dying wish and a piece of land that won't let him leave that his family can’t afford to lose, it’s a nightmare he can’t outrun.
She’s here for data. He’s here to hold the line. But when the roads wash out and the sirens blare, they’re forced to shelter together.
Trapped in the eye of a system that won’t let up, the line between science and survival blurs, taking with it both of their carefully constructed walls, whether they're ready for it or not.
When the winds finally do die down, nothing in their path will be left the same.

-small country town -storm chasing romance -all female storm chasing team + a hippie dude -grumpy/sunshine -lovers in denial -a rescue dog -found family
ohhh shut the fuck uppppp this was SO PERFECTTTT!! at the beginning the authors wrote that this duet will be a love letter to survivors of natural disasters, & while i completely understand how fortunate i am to not be able to image being in that scenario...i definitely have a sense of understanding now after reading these! 🥺🥺
“They call it a hook echo, that tight curve on the radar that means something’s coming. Not might. Not maybe. Coming. You see it, and you know you're about to get wrecked if you’re not underground fast, and that’s what Nova Landry feels like. That curl in my chest, right behind the ribs, twisting me up like a vine. The warning sign I should run from, but I don’t. God help me, I lean in. I chase it. Because some storms don’t just destroy, some drag you back to life, too.”
Hook Echo by T.C. Kraven is a whirlwind blend of adrenaline-soaked storm chasing, groundbreaking science, and slow-burn Southern romance. At the heart of the story is a fierce, capable female protagonist who, alongside her close-knit team of storm chasers, has developed S.I.L.O.—a revolutionary technology with the power not only to interpret storm data but to alter a storm’s very path. The ethical stakes are sky-high, but so is the tension brewing on a much more intimate front. During a rare night off with her crew, she meets Waylon—a cowboy who redefines the term Southern gentleman. Waylon is rugged but deeply respectful, offering one unforgettable night under the stars with no expectations attached. Their chemistry is undeniable, but fate isn’t done with them yet. When their paths collide again in the heart of tornado country, the chaos of nature forces them into close quarters, seeking shelter in a storm cellar as both the weather and their emotions intensify.
Along the way, they rescue a stray puppy—aptly nicknamed Killer Toto—whose presence adds charm and heart amidst the danger. With every chase and close call, Kraven balances raw atmospheric suspense with magnetic romantic tension. The heroine’s strength and independence shine, made all the more compelling by Waylon’s steady, unwavering support. Rather than overshadow her, he amplifies her.
Hook Echo is the perfect storm for readers who love high-stakes action, a heroine who can command the skies, and a cowboy who proves that gentleness can be its own kind of strength. Thrilling, tender, and fiercely original, this book delivers both gale-force drama and a romance that rumbles like distant thunder—inevitable and unforgettable.

Just finished book 1 of a Stormfront duet Hook Echo by T.C Kraven. This is my 1st book from her and it was really good! It sucked me in like a tornado (little bit of word play lol) this book follows Nova a member of the all female Storm chasers. When she was a kid she was in the midst of a hurricane that destroyed her home and community. Fast forward she got her doctorate and joined forces with other women around the states to hunt down the forces of Mother Nature. As well as creating a device to get a faster alarm to save people and even to redirect the tornadoes to save people and cause as little damage as possible. She heads to a small farmer town to track a tornado and meets a loner rancher Waylon. Waylon is tied to his farm since his father passed. He 1st meets Nova at a bar and after a one night stand with her he finds her trespassing on his property. After spending a few days with each other on his ranch facing the elements they fall for each other. But with Novas nature to run towards the storm and Waylon expecting her to leave him and never come back. How will their story end?
Thunder Rock This paints such a vivid image. Beautifully written. Tornadoes and hurricanes. Such vivid imagery. Like a ghost on the moors in Wuthering Heights... Phrases jumped out at me while reading. I knew to pay attention for later on. TC Kraven is a master at weaving details throughout the story. The motifs and surroundings add even more depth to the stories. They are so intricate on many levels. Nova, such a beautiful name. I love the respect Nova shows Delilah! Nova doesn't try to force how she perceives affection to be shown. The whole group of ‘girls’ are a great support system for one another. We love to see women supporting women! I love the duality of Waylon. He wants to protect his family legacy, he wants a career. He doesn't want anyone else to have to bare the burden he does, he wants Nova to stay with him. He wants to honor his father, he wants his brother to have a free life. The pain. The agony. The fear. I love the back and forth between Waylon and Nova. Nice bold build. You rarely see men letting go and being unashamed for it. The undercurrents with these characters added layers to the story. I loved their connection. I love these side characters so much. I want to know all of their stories. They are all so integral to this world. I absolutely adore Gerry! The way he jumps to women’s defense, chefs kiss. Makes it even better that the man can cook. 😉 He quickly became my favorite side character. Second only to Toto though. I can literally envision whole scenes playing out. I love it! LOL Raise hell, and praise Dale! Cow tipping. 🤣 I loved the whole atmosphere of the book. I can see it. I can smell it. I can hear it. TC Kraven has definitely done her research and due diligence. It helps things flow and really shows how much the author cares about the stories she weaves. You can hear and feel the depth from the author who lived through it all and was in the heart of it. Fear to anger. Showing comfort. I love that TC never yucks someone else's yum, and she doesn’t allow any of her characters to either. We are all different and that's special, never wrong. Protect your people, protect your love. I love that the author stayed true to the accent. It makes hearing their voices as you read so much easier. They way she has intertwined movement throughout this book is literally moving. Staying or going. The movement of the weather and the people around them. So much movement, but so still at the same time. The movement of casting. Genius! TC, can we please get a tumbler with “Titty Twisters” on it?! ‘Girl Power’ and ‘Sass Monster’ stickers would be great too! Maybe with some glimmer dust?! And a Landmassian temporary tattoo. Hurricane Katrina. I am really looking forward to others reviews and hearing the experiences of others. Everyone will have a story to tell. I love how TC always portrays the effects of trauma in characters. How it effects the mind, body, and connections. It is humanizing. Gut wrenching. My heart broke. Beautiful goodbye. I was literally cheering out loud at parts of the book! The playlist for this book is badass too! I feel like a lot of people will be able to resonate and relate to this book. We have all had parts of our life where we are figuring out what is next and doing what we have to just to get by. You have to read this book and then immediately read Crosswinds. They are tied together. You get all of your questions answered only if you read them both. The cast of characters is amazing and you want to know every single detail possible.
Suggested reading order to date: 1. Hook Echo by TC Kraven 2. Crosswinds by Brittany Ann
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If TC writes it, I’m sure as heck going to read it. I hadn’t read many cowboy tales until this month, and she sure does know how to write one.
This one has SO much emotional depth, and while the voice feels different from her Dark Fates series it is still quintessentially TC. Expect to get some deep feelings stirred up, especially if you’ve survived or had major impact from a natural disaster. Check your triggers here, bebes and take care of yourselves.
Well researched, science-y, and smart, this book brought it all. And the spice was (of course) delicious. Can’t wait to continue this series! What a lovely found family this group has created.

This was such a fun read. If you like any of the twister movies but wanted more romance this is for you.
We follow the Stormfront team as they track storms in Oklahoma. Nova and Waylon weren’t meant to be anything special, just a one night stand. One and done. But the storms/tornados coming have other plans for them and soon they’re hunkering down together on Waylon’s family ranch, sharing about their pasts and getting under each others skin.
I devoured this book in one sitting, and I’m immediately diving into the second part of this duet.
This was the first book I'd read from this author and I liked it!
The group of women (& Gerry!) were awesome together. The tornado chasing was really interesting. I have no clue how any of that works but it was fun learning a little about it.
The romance was sweet! Nova's one night stand with a gruff cowboy who turned out to be the owner of the land she trespassed on when chasing a tornado? The push/pull and denial of feelings was frustrating me! They were adorable together and we all knew it.
Good lord right out of chapter one I was already crying! The entire book is one big emotional ride. Both Nova and Waylon are broken with tragic pasts and their trauma still haunting them everyday. Oh but be prepared for your heart to pound hard when they’re caught in the middle of a tornado outbreak. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this definitely blew all my expectations away. I definitely need so much more from this series and want everyone to have their own books.
One night stand turned … meet cute? 🤭 I’m obsessed with Nova & Waylon. I loved the storyline & if you loved Twisters - this duet is absolutely for YOUUUU. Nova & Waylon both have a bit of a dark past, and I absolutely cried at the end when Nova (with the help of Gerry) helped get Waylon out of *that* situation.
I honestly think the knowledge about tornados and storms and how Katrina destroyed areas that the news didn’t talk about was fascinating, it gave us a look at reality with a bit of romance thrown in.
I loved Nova and Waylon’s story and the writing was fantastic!
I will definitely e picking up a few more of this author’s books!
This is my first book by T.C Kraven and I absolutely enjoyed it. The paranormal/urban fantasy side of the storyline is unlike books I usually read but I enjoyed it along with the romance. The fact the story is also based on tornados which the authors themselves experience, I never have, made me ache for what they go through.
I absolutely adored this book, the storyline and the characters were just *chefs kiss*. This book was well written and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t read any books based on storm chasers so this was a new for me and I went in blind. This is the first book in the stormfront duet. This is my first book I’ve read by this author so I will be definitely checking out others 🩶
This is a small town romance but it does talk about hurricane damage and Katrina. I love the way this book had me from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down.
T.C. is an auto-read auto-buy author for me, and this was no exception.
Nova is a storm chaser, Waylon is a rancher. They meet at a bar in Oklahoma, where Waylon lives, when Nova and her team are in town due to some intense storm signs, and looking to gather data for the project they need funding for. They have one hot evening together, expecting to never see each other again...
... until they do. As Nova is chasing a storm along Waylon's property line, she almost gets herself shot, and gets caught in the storm. Waylon and Nova are forced to shelter together and confront their pasts as well as their growing feelings for one another.
A love letter to survivors of disasters, T.C. has woven an irresistible story of trauma, facing the past and everything they thought they knew about themselves, and the present storms facing them. I am so privileged to not have been through a situation like this, but T.C. made this beautiful story so raw and real. It brought tears to my eyes and an ache to my heart, and knowing this is a reality for many people has left an imprint on my heart.
T.C. is a master of storytelling, and this is one you won't want to miss.
Thank you to T.C. for the eARC! My opinions are my own.
I will be adding to the "re-read for comfort" shelf! this captivating and emotional tale takes us on a wild adventure with Nova and her incredible team to change the fate of small towns in Oklahoma. As the settle in town and get prepped for the job, Nova meets Waylon at the town whole-in-the-wall. Thinking they'd seen the last of each other, a wild turn of events has them stuck in a force proximity with Tornado Alley do her THANG. ✨️✨️ This novel is filled with passion, pain, grief, and the everyday miracles of people who genuinely LOVE each other! The team is something that makes you feel like you have a seat at the table with my own bowl of chili; Gerry made of course! I cant wait to meet the rest of the team and follow them in this wild journey! ✨️ now onto Crosswinds!
This book reads like a movie playing in your head, vividly devastating with a side of hometown humor. Clear your schedule, because it’s hard to put down.
