He also used to be a passionate online gamer which prompted him to write the story of a man who joins an MMORPG game hoping to raise money for his daughter’s heart surgery. The first book of Mirror World was published In 2013. A somewhat transitional novel heavy on magic with very cool interludes and a great ending. Incognito in the capital Max has been working hard at gathering allies among the first born magical beings, but now the golden bruts started coming to life and demanding to associate with specific persons.
Unfortunately those are not who Max would have preferred and the association is fraught with dangers, so Max has to be there to help them whether they like it or not. And to complicate things, one of the new aurings to be is on trial for her life as her former patron went to the dark side and sent a shade to express her wishes, shade who murdered a few first born from Max entourage on the way...
While not yet in the open, the secret of Max's true parentage seems to be going where it was hinted and of course Carl, Chico, the dukes and the kings have their own plans, so the world is indeed hurling toward its breaking point.
Just great stuff and lots of fun and hopefully this one will get its audio release soon as that adds so much more to the enjoyment.

I feel swindled.
This is not a book. It is a small part of a book. It’s a slice of life novella at best. No conflict, climax, or closure. Just felt like a money grab that could have easily just waited and combined with the next one.
We will see if this irksome pattern continue.

Unfortunately the book was too short and longwinded to be really good. Most of the book was rather trivial and the plot gpot only interesting cowards the last 10% of the book..

Lost 2 stars for NOT writing a Recap.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

yet another weak setup book full of unnecessary information, povs that drown out the plot and just increase the word count. the book feels like a webnovel that just dragged on and on without any substance. overall if you want to speed read the book just read the first and last 2 chapters, you wouldn't miss anything important.
worst thing of all is that it ends on a cliffhanger the book has just one big fight and that's about it. the editing wasn't that good and i found a few typos that broke the immersion. the last 2 or 3 books in this series are building up to a big fight and it hasn't finished yet, it seems! really disappointing.

Maximillan , Margrave de Valier is requested to attend King Carl in Herouxville, Carl doesn't know that Max has been there for some considerable time and not as everyone thinks in the "Shadow" as he increases his powers and those of his comrades , Carl still isn't sure if he can trust Max so the meeting is going to be fraught with intrigue and danger. The ending is brilliant , not quite a cliffhanger but sets the next book up nicely.

The winter demons are plotting and now they know there’s resistance in the capital capable of smiting the unwary, every king on the continent is about to enter into a war for dominance, and of course the nobles are plotting. Max has outwit, outmaneuver, and outlast all these plots if he wants to stop the apocalypse that’s slowly being created but it looks like help may be on the way…..great read with lots of set up fir the next book. Which I can’t wait to get!

it is required
Like the majority of these books I’m of two minds. the story is an interesting one with well thought out characters in a cohesive world . I’ve been reading till this point because of such . Unfortunately there are some issues , it feels to me that this story is being purposely slowed down by adding unnecessary details , for almost 10$ a book I feel we should at least have a full story in each book.

Did not enjoy this one. Can't even remember much of what happened after I finished reading it...except the last four chapters were good. Felt like another filler book where nothing much happened. In fact the last two books have felt like someone packing a bag for travelling but never going on the trip.
I hope the crystal situation doesn't turn this book into a harem situation. I hate harem books.

Amazing Series!! 10/10
Bought every single 1 when it releases! Well worth it. The story is very captivating and the world building, magic system, and history stands out from the rest of the genre. The progression for each book raises the stakes on the world level. The political intrigue and game of thrones really adds another layer to the story!

too short
Alexey,
Is one of my favorite authors, and I’m happy to pay for his books. That said, this one was a little disappointing. It just started to get interesting in the last 15% of the book. It really felt incomplete.

The book seems so short because there are hardly any action scenes. Most of it about various characters contemplating for a really long time. I really like the series in general but I hope the next book is better.

at this point this feel like a cashgrab, 30% of the book (if you can call it that) was a fight without even action just two different perspective, i dont see how came, the same problem it has the previous book, just word count filled book.

Max is at it again
I really enjoy this series, I wish they were a bit longer in length for the price we pay. I sincerely wish for the author to take this into account.

Excellent
Great read with the traditional cliffhanger. Max is truly the Fox incarnate dodging enemies while growing in power. Excellent politics, which are a deadly game.
