I hate to say this because the first one was so amazing, but this one I didn't enjoy as much as. Which is so disappointing because I was really looking forward to the second book in this series! I think it might have been the fact that I couldn't connect with Arabella. She came off as someone who was just too stuck up and standoffish and made it hard to connect with her on a personal level and really feel empathic towards her. The story was also massively too long and the jumping back and forth into the past and present was just difficult for me to keep up with. I am really hoping that the next one is a better read for me!

I love these characters! They’re such an eclectic cast, making the story so much more interesting.

A Grave Mistake is a fun, paranormal romance filled with haughtiness, humour and vampire lore. Arabella and Gideon’s second-chance, enemies-to-lovers dynamic is entertaining, and the much loved, meddling book club adds a quirky charm.
Steffanie's writing is so easy to follow and I read this quickly. Can't wait to keep getting to know more of the book club...and find the killer!

This book was entirely too long and the pacing was terrible. Most of this book is her nosy, selfish, boundary crossing friend group inserting themselves into her life. I don’t recall them being this annoying in Fangs for Nothing. I could get past it if I actually thought they were trying to be helpful, but a lot of it is them coercing her into doing things that benefit them. Even after she’s turned them down they resort to guilt-tripping her. And Isis constantly barraging her with questions got old real fast.
It took Gideon way too long to give Arabella a proper apology, and switching back and forth to their past wasn’t interesting or insightful to the story. I was looking forward to this one for a while, but ended up being disappointed.

So, I didn't realize that this book was part of a series when I started it, but I discovered it very quickly, and because I had an advantage copy on Net Galley I powered through. Despite my mistake, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. I feel i didn't lose too much having not read the first, it's probably going to affect reading the first more (but im still gonna do it 😆). I could not help but love Gideon and spent the whole book wanting Arabella to hurry up and forgive him already! It was a very cute and cozy story for a Vampire Mystery, I love it!

This second read in The Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven was really good. It continued with the elements that I loved about book one - the humour and lighthearted, sometimes ridiculous, situations, a strong focus on friendship and found family, well-developed romantic interest and spice, and the well-written mystery around who the killer is.
A Grave Mistake had a lot to offer that engaged me in the story until the end. I loved both Gideon and Arabella, and their story that was told from their past meeting 150 years prior and in the present time. The flashbacks weren't out of place or just done because they could be. They showcased a lot of depth to the hurt, rage, love, and loss both main protagonists felt presently towards the other. It was poignant and cathartic for the reader, and for the characters, to revisit these moments from their clandestine love affair that set the path of destruction and subsequent rebuild that led them to the vampires they are now. It was a satisfactory second-chance romance, and the chemistry between them both felt well-developed and real because of the solid work Holmes did in setting the scene and their character trajectory.
However, and this is a continuing issue that I had from book 1 too, I do feel these books have a lot of unnecessary elements that make it drag out. Sometimes, it made it feel like I wasn't making much progress with the overall storyline because there was this overfluffing of the storyline. This is a minor critique, and didn't lessen my enjoyment of Gideon and Arabella's story any. I just struggled to feel productive with my reading sessions, and it took me far longer to get through it as a result.
I'm looking forward to returning to this world a third time, so we can discover who the killer is that is still at large, and find what else the Nevermore book coven will have to help solve. I highly recommend this story to paranormal romance lovers and readers who enjoy cosy mysteries full of bite, pun intended.

Grave Mistake is one of those books that’s just… easy to enjoy. It blends cosy paranormal vibes, second-chance romance, and a light murder mystery into a story that feels comforting even when vampires and old grudges are involved.
Arabella Lestrange is an unapologetic feminist icon. She’s powerful, sharp-witted, and deeply self-assured, the kind of heroine who knows her worth and has zero interest in making herself smaller for anyone else. One particular line sums her up perfectly: “My mother taught me that if you give a man a fish, he’ll have a full belly for a day. But if you push that same man into a volcano, the gods will ensure a bountiful harvest for the whole season.”.
One of the biggest joys of this book is the found-family energy. The Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven bring warmth, humour, and plenty of meddling, making the story feel cosy and lived-in. There’s a real sense that these characters care about each other, and that makes the quieter moments just as enjoyable as the mystery elements.
The plot itself moves along nicely, though the mystery feels more like a slow burn setup than a full resolution, and the romantic push-and-pull can be a bit repetitive at times. That said, the snark, charm, and emotional undercurrent kept me turning pages, and I genuinely enjoyed spending time in this world.

I’ve been looking forward to reading A Grave Mistake from the moment I saw that the FMC is Arabella Lestrange, and it didn’t disappoint!
After reading Fangs for Nothing, it was exciting stepping back into this world, and enjoying another fun and spicy vampire romance, by Steffanie Holmes.
Arabella is one of my favourite characters from this series. She’s tough, untrusting and makes a habit of keeping her past hidden. However, that all has to change when Gideon turns back up in her life, a man she’d thought to be dead more than 100 years ago.
I loved seeing Arabella remain stubborn throughout the story, even as she came to realise that revealing parts of herself was actually okay.
As far as Gideon goes, he made my heart melt, and was such a perfect MMC for Arabella.
By the end of A Grave Mistake, we still don’t know who the husker (killer) is, but it still tied up nicely. Arabella had a satisfying character arc without sacrificing any of the parts of her that I came to love, and of course, there was a happy spicy ending to this quirky second chance romance.

I am honestly so obsessed with the world that Steffanie Holmes has created with the Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven. A Grave Mistake is the newest release in the series and sequel to Fangs for Nothing. While Arabella and Gideon are our main characters, for me the story is really elevated by the entire cast of characters. They are unique and diverse, not to mention utterly hilarious...where does someone sign up to join this book club?
Arabella and Gideon have a long history, 150 years in fact. Arabella is the most notorious dancer in Paris' underground vampire cabaret and she crosses paths with the human Gideon Blake. Their attraction is instantenous but fleeting after Gideon betrays her. Arabella flees Paris and changes her identity but she doesn't expect to cross paths with Gideon 150 years later and discover he is now a vampire too.
I absolutely loved the attraction between Arabella and Gideon. Their interactions were heated and electric, but filled with so much yearning. Arabella was so stubborn throughout the story but slowly she starts to peel back layers of herself and trust her friends with her secrets.
The main mystery in this book is one that carries over from the Fangs for Nothing. While we don't get a full reveal in A Grave Mistake, the build has me really intrigued. While we have the larger mystery of the series unresolved, the story does work its way through its own mystery which provides some nice misdirects.
For cosy vibes, humour and a little bit of spicy paranormal this is a series I highly recommend. The more I read this series, the more I want to go back and read the Nevermore Bookshop Mysteries series.

I loved this book so much more than the first one. Arabella and Gideon’s banter was so cute, and I connected with them more than Winnie and Alaric. Their love and chemistry just made more sense to me and felt more real.
I really liked that everything wasn’t revealed all at once. The dual timeline worked so well as it allows the reader to see the couple’s progress in the present while also uncovering how everything went wrong in the past.
As always, the book club was one of my favourite aspects of the story. I loved that we got to see more of each character, their challenges and explore them in greater depth.

I really enjoyed this second instalment in this series, with this crazy bunch of characters and their murder solving coven/book club.
Arabella is hard to like at times but you can appreciate how much she's been through and how hard she's worked to get where she is. I can't help but love Gideon, especially when he starts cracking his terrible puns.
I'm looking forward to seeing what will come next and I have a feeling that when the mystery is revealed, it will be one I didn't see coming.

3.5 rounded up. Did I enjoy this as much as Fangs for Nothing? No. Will I read the next books in the series- 100% yes.
Arabella was hard to like, but by the end of the story she had come around a bit. I was just about driven madness hearing about her dancing OVER AND OVER.

I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this! Thank you so so much was literally the best day ever.
I absolutely loved it! It felt very different from fangs for nothing. Arabella and Gideons vibes were very different from Winnie and Alaric’s but they were a great follow up (nothing will ever beat Winnie and Alaric they are the best fictional couple I will be taking no criticisms or complaints)
The story flowed really well and while I could see where certain things were going it didn’t feel boring, it was still exciting to see if I was right or if I was wrong.

I fell in love with Fangs For Nothing and the characters of this cozy town, so I was very excited for Grave Mistake to come out and let me tell you it was amazing! The characters are still their loveable, meddlesome selves and the relationship between not only the main couple (so good) but the coven was beautiful to read.
The plot goes from past to present which I am usually not always a fan of but this was done really well. There is a lot of angst, tension, and of course simmering chemistry between them. Their story was so heartbreaking and tragic yet held an abundance of love and connection.
There is a mysterious killer on the loose from book one that interweaves itself into the plot, creating a sense of urgency and mistrust among the citizens of the village. I loved seeing this plot further developed in this book and the coven coming together to solve the crime and read smutty books of course.
Once again the vampire lore was really well written, I am always a sucker for vampire romances (pun intended). One part I really loved reading was the character's appreciation for art and the endurance of art over time. In the present, Arabella and Gideon are butting heads with a load of tension while also trying to solve the murder that occurred in book 1.
Gideon Blake is now going onto my list of top book boyfriends because that man can yearn.

Dear god what a wild ride this book took me on! Give Steffanie Holmes her crown for creating such a thorough, intricate and meticulous world that contains the most loveable and enchanting characters ever!!!!
In a world where humans and vampires seem to co-exist, there seems to be an unspoken rule that if you are privy to the existence of vampires, you keep it hush hush. Alaric & Winnie are the perfect example of a vampire-human relationship that flourishes (much to the Conclave’s dismay) within vampire society. There are three courts who make up the Conclave – Nightshade (excel in warfare), Midnight Court (Entertainment) and Dusk Court (Secret court of magicians). Those who are not a part of a court are termed “uncourted” which is where Gideon Blake comes in.
Gideon is the owner and founder of Sanctus Estate, a refuge for uncourted vampires who wish to live free of the Conclaves rules. The story behind Gideon creating Sanctus is just so heartwarming, and its reveal is truly a key emotional moment in the story (like the bar he created?!!!?? are we serious!!!!) Gideon is characterised as someone who is arrogant in a charming way that still makes you want to slap him… multiple times. He consistently infuriates Arabella to NO END and takes extreme satisfaction in riling her up. I mean, the man thought she was dead, mourned her for 150 years, and then she mysteriously landed in his lap. Can we blame him for getting a little bothersome? Well, I’m sure Arabella can.
Arabella Lestrange is the leading vampire investment consultant in the community. She trades old treasure and generates monetary profit for her customers. Arabella has a personality that is a mix of strength, conviction & a hidden vulnerability that stops her from revealing her true self to those she loves. Arabella often believes showing doubt or vulnerability could weaken her ability to protect others or stay true to her principles, so she keeps it hidden. In saying this, Arabella’s personality can be a little off putting at times. And I’m all for a strong independent woman, but the constant mentions of designer brands and this luxurious persona was just a lot…
Gideon & Arabella as a pairing just work! I absolutely LOVED their dynamic. The back-and-forth banter constantly between them kept me GLUED TO THE PAGE! Both of them don’t let the other off the hook so easy, and that magnetic pull between them is exemplified through every interaction. For majority of the book, Arabella is constantly internally warring with her emotions related to Gideon, and Gideon is doing everything (and I mean EVERYTHING like building horrendous sculptures that make Arabella infuriated) to get Arabella back. Gideon is completely and utterly enraptured by Arabella. Always. At all times. Without a singular miss. He folds for her every single time. The man is in a constant state of awe around her saying cute shit like “she is poetry” END ME.
The author wrote A Grave Mistake in such a captivating way. The story is interesting and immersive. I like how it shifts from newspaper clippings, to group chats, to different POVs, and to flashback chapters. The chapters set in the past are especially intriguing and enthralling to read, the little snippets of past Gideon & Arabella are my absolute favourite in this story. The present chapters are just abit too “modern” and Gen Z coded. A minor irk I had in this story is the similes. As an English teacher I’m all about figurative language but comparing Gideon exuding “beautiful danger” to a Valentino sample sale is crazy to me!!! And it wasn’t just ONE simile, it was a constant occurrence throughout the novel. Another favourite is “make my heart pound like my human friends at a black Friday book sale” TAKE ME OUT PLS!
Overall, this book was a fun, quirky and unique read. I could go on and on but I think I’ve rambled enough. OH and thank you Simon and Schuster for sending me an ARC of this book!

Straight away, I'm calling it. This is my favourite Steffanie Holmes book to date. The story she's woven between these two characters is beautiful, heart-rending, hilarious and deeply, deeply satisfying. Add in the mystery element, and you've got a book that devours you as you devour it.
My main source of joy from this book was the extensive exploration of the characters' histories, and how they came to be in their current predicaments. The experience of their backstory added so much depth to them and to the story as a whole, and pulled my heart into the pages without remorse. The dual timeline was brilliantly handled, with both periods running seamlessly alongside one another; there was not a single instance where the jump back or forward was uncomfortable or confusing, and indeed it made various moments of tension between Gideon and Arabella hit that much harder. I honestly feel that I connected more with these two while reading than I have with any other characters for a long while, precisely because we get to know not just them, but what drives them and why their relationship is as it is.
In terms of the characters themselves, Gideon really puts me in mind of Reginald from 'My Vampire Plus One' and Zav from 'Loving a Vampire is Total Chaos', which of course means I adore him! Sunshine-y vampires FTW! The billionaire playboy love interest trope really works for him, but equally it's so understated - if it weren't for the mentions of his vault of vampire treasure, his Lamborghini and his business, he could be any 'normal' person. Arabella is harder to get a handle on, but that so absolutely fits her character that it only serves to pull you in further. Their banter is brilliant, their chemistry explosive, and the glimpses of their yearning for eachother is just incredible.
The plot is multi-layered, with the romance interspersed with (as you'd expect in Argleton) a murd3r or two to solve, issues with the vampire courts, and yet more secrets being uncovered. And, as is the norm for a Nevermore book, the main characters from both the previous book in this series and Mina and her fictional husbands from the Nevermore Bookshop, plus the rest of the Book Club, play pivotal roles. In fact, I'd say this book is a proper crossover edition, and if Argleton wasn’t already ingrained in my mind as a 'real' place before, it certainly is now! The inclusion of all these familiar faces allows you to feel comfortable in the story from page one, and I love the continuing expansion of the world!
I'm not just saying this because it is directly referenced in the book, but the historical elemt has a real 'Moulin Rouge' feel to it, and so it was very hard not to initally picture Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor as the MCs. Of course, that couldn't be more wrong, especially in Arabella's case; I adored her representation of both a strong, independent Black FMC in both historic and modern settings, and a s3x worker. And when I read the description of her buzzed hairstyle, the image in my mind shifted to that of Danai Gurira in 'Black Panther' - strong, sexy, graceful and gorgeous. Once I had the right visual, it made everything else about her and the worls she inhabits so much more vivid. It also helped me with Gideon; his devil-may-care attitude seemed to work so much better as a foil to Arabella's temperament and a bit of comedic relief when I was picturing her as a warrior queen.
There is so much to love in this book, and I'll definitely be buying a physical copy for my trophy shelf when it comes out!

I recently read Fangs for Nothing (The Nevermore Murder Club & Smutty Book Coven #1) and I absolutely adored it, so I was beyond excited to be given the opportunity to review an ARC of Book - A Grave Mistake.
This is a spicy, cosy, small-town paranormal romance, complete with a meddling book club that I would 100% join in real life.
Arabella Lestrange is a strong-willed, witty, snarky, confident, independent vampire who was once the owner - and pole dancer - at Le Petite Mort, a notorious underground vampire cabaret in Paris. She falls for a human, Gideon Blake, against her better judgement… and he does something unforgivable.
Fast forward 150 years and they run into each other again in the small town of Argleton (Gideon is now a Vampire too). While Arabella wants nothing more than revenge, Gideon is determined to win her back.
Gideon isn’t my usual type of MMC — he loves a suit, wears an Armani watch, and is blonde — but he won me over. He’s funny, charming, protective, and completely wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to Arabella. Their banter is also top-tier.
Their second-chance romance unfolds alongside a murder mystery, with someone in the village husking (draining the blood of) unsuspecting victims - while someone else from Arabella’s past appears to be targeting her.
I really loved the dual timeline between present-day events and what happened in Paris 150 years ago. The world building is easy to follow, and the cast of characters are all likeable and interesting. I am really hoping Book 3 gives us Celeste’s story.
Special mention to The Nevermore Murder Club and the Smutty Book Coven - friendship and women supporting women goals. They made me laugh out loud so many times throughout the book.
This book is cosy, warm, funny, intriguing, and kept me captivated throughout. I did enjoy Book 1 slightly more, but I would still absolutely recommend this.

This was such a fun read. Clever, self-aware, and very comfortable breaking the fourth wall, this book knows exactly what it’s doing and fully commits to the bit.
“I like seizing the night, witnessing the sweeping changes of history, and never getting wrinkles.”
Arabella Lestrange is infiltrating Sanctus Estate to investigate a string of vampire murders, armed with sharp instincts, sharper wit, and absolutely no patience for Gideon Blake. Former lover. Former human. Current problem. Now also a vampire.
“My revenge on Gideon was supposed to be outliving him, remaking myself into a ravishing, successful creature while he became ashes and dust.”
Their history is messy, emotional, and loaded with resentment, which makes the enemies-to-lovers tension delicious. Arabella is determined to make him pay for ruining her afterlife, while Gideon remains annoyingly charming, rich, and far too likeable for his own good.
“I’ve been in love with a vampire since 1879, and I didn’t even know it.”
The dual POV works brilliantly, and the added killer chapters give the mystery real momentum without tipping the tone too dark. The humour is constant - dry, clever, and often wink-at-the-reader funny - balanced by cosy vibes, endless cups of tea, and a genuinely compelling whodunnit.
“The problem with curiosity is that some people don’t realise they’re the cat.”
This is paranormal romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still delivers on character, chemistry, and plot. Arabella and Gideon’s dynamic is dramatic, petty, charged, and honestly? Ridiculously fun.
“I thought we’d been through the foreplay. I stole from you. You tried to have me killed. Ours is a romance written in the stars.”
And just when the snark threatens to outweigh the heart, Gideon drops something like this:
“You never needed jewels or fine dresses… you shine so brightly you make the moon jealous.”
Tell me that’s not vampire perfection.

Having absolutely adored the first book in this series, Fangs for Nothing, my excitement for the second book was supremely high! When it was released, with those edges?! *swoon*
However, I cannot be fooled by pretty sprayed edges. I still want an entertaining, funny and engaging read. I got all of that in the last 40% of the book … that first 60% was, *grimaces* long. The FMC Arabella is arrogant, conceited, opinionated, and I found it difficult to like her. I still didn’t like her by the end of the book, but I understood her. The MMC Gideon has golden retriever energy, and for the most part, I was cheering for him to find someone nicer than Arabella for himself (sorry not sorry). Also, he is hilarious! The puns whilst they were playing games and then he was trying to seduce her with them - gold! Unfortunately though, this particular couple didn’t have the chemistry and tension of Winnie and Alaric from book 1.
This is a second-chance romance with dual POVs (and dual narrators), and the reader must get through all of the flashbacks to the first chance at their love story before it gets interesting. There’s a lot of telling and descriptions, and I found it lacked substance. But, BUT, once we hit that last 40%, Holmes was back baby! The witty banter, the suspense, and the Nevermore Coven finally appeared *insert excited squee here for the surprise character reveal!*
This story is unapologetically strong on consent, feminine rage and girls doing it for themselves. The underlying storyline of the husker continues in this story, but only towards the end. I would have appreciated more of it throughout the story. I was left with so many questions at the end. Bring on the next instalment!

This book could have been 10x longer and I still would have eaten it up, because it's Arabella and Gideon!!!
'A Grave Mistake' is just as quirky and charming as 'Fangs for Nothing', with the return of all of my favourite outlandish and charismatic characters in the Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven with even more tension and mystery. The lover to enemies to lovers relationship between Arabella and Gideon was absolutely addictive, I love a second chance romance and this one delivered!! I could have done with a bit less miscommunication (so many things could have been cleared up if they just spoke about it sooner - but I did love the tension!!). Arabella being treated like a goddess is what she deserves 💅 The high stakes (hehe) of the Sanctus potentially closing was so compelling for me, it was great to see Gideon's passion about the safety of vampires (and his yearning for Arabella ahhhhhh).
This book had me laughing out loud frequently when we got to see the Nevermore Coven trying to solve the mystery and those ladies just keep surprising me!! I look forward to finding out more of their secrets as the series progresses. I want them to please adopt me into their group, I am not too sure what I can provide but I would do my best. The ongoing murder mystery plot is so much fun as well, and the plot twists had my jaw on the floor in shock, I need the third book as soon as physically possible!!

This book could have been 10x longer and I still would have eaten it up, because it's Arabella and Gideon!!!
'A Grave Mistake' is just as quirky and charming as 'Fangs for Nothing', with the return of all of my favourite outlandish and charismatic characters in the Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven with even more tension and mystery. The lover to enemies to lovers relationship between Arabella and Gideon was absolutely addictive, I love a second chance romance and this one delivered!! I could have done with a bit less miscommunication (so many things could have been cleared up if they just spoke about it sooner - but I did love the tension!!). Arabella being treated like a goddess is what she deserves 💅 The high stakes (hehe) of the Sanctus potentially closing was so compelling for me, it was great to see Gideon's passion about the safety of vampires (and his yearning for Arabella ahhhhhh).
This book had me laughing out loud frequently when we got to see the Nevermore Coven trying to solve the mystery and those ladies just keep surprising me!! I look forward to finding out more of their secrets as the series progresses. I want them to please adopt me into their group, I am not too sure what I can provide but I would do my best. The ongoing murder mystery plot is so much fun as well, and the plot twists had my jaw on the floor in shock, I need the third book as soon as physically possible!!

This man knew how to yearn for her as well as grovel to her. My heart ached for him for everything he was feeling towards her. For 150 years! 😯 He held onto every piece of her memory. I loved that he was respectful towards her past life and would immediately threaten anyone who slightly offended her. This was even when she wasn't with him. Ah, it was so good! 😫😍 And, Arabella....she was such a strong, independent, beautiful and a vengeful Queen. I loved it! I wanted to be her 😍 I loved them together. Their chemistry was everything I was looking for and more.
Also, let's talk about the side characters - the women in these books, as they called themselves the smutty coven, were such an important presence in Arabella. I loved that someone as strong and independent as Arabella was, even she needed friends. I loved their friendship, how they're always there for each other and some of their men too helping them with their endeavours. It was everything. This series is more than just a cozy mystery/romance.
Second chance romance trope is usually a hit or miss for me....and this was a hit! ❤ The author has done such a great job making us feel all the emotions that the characters were displaying. Other tropes in this were - cozy murder mystery vibes, amateur sleuths, strong female side characters, small town setting and more. They're interconnected standalones, but there is an over arching plot that's going to carry onto the next books. So, they have to be read chronologically. I wonder whose book it's going to be next - maybe, Celeste or Maisie? 🤔

I absolutely loved Fangs for Nothing, so I went into A Grave Mistake ridiculously excited—and when I realised this was Arabella and Gideon’s story, I was even more thrilled. I’m happy to report this book did not disappoint.
The Nevermore Murder Club and the Smutty Book Coven return in full force, bringing their trademark meddling, sharp banter, and cosy chaos (fuelled by endless cups of tea). Stefanie’s writing is effortless to sink into, weaving together rich historical detail, a compelling murder mystery, and genuinely laugh-out-loud moments that never feel forced.
This book leans heavily into flashbacks, which can sometimes feel confusing if not done well—but that’s absolutely not the case here. They’re completely fangtastic (yes, I went there). The glimpses into Arabella and Gideon’s past beautifully set up their enemies-to-lovers dynamic, adding layers to their relationship without ever pulling you out of the story. At times, I genuinely felt transported straight to 1870s Paris, which is the magic of truly immersive writing.
A Grave Mistake is a cosy paranormal romance with bite. It’s the perfect read if you love second-chance love stories, meddling side characters, characters who refuse to let go of a grudge (even after 150 years) and a vampire tale that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

This story was such a fun, sharp take on a second-chance paranormal romance. Arabella Lestrange is exactly the kind of heroine I love — fierce, dramatic, immortal, and absolutely committed to holding a grudge for eternity. Her history with Gideon is messy, emotional, and deliciously complicated, and I loved how the book plays with the idea that heartbreak doesn’t fade just because a century passes.
The dynamic between Arabella and Gideon is full of bite — literally and emotionally. There’s humour, bitterness, lingering attraction, and that constant push-and-pull of I hate you / why do I still want you. Gideon’s cheeky, devil-may-care personality clashes perfectly with Arabella’s darker, more guarded nature, and their interactions were one of my favourite parts of the story.
I also really enjoyed the cozy elements layered into the paranormal setting. The meddling book-club friends added warmth, humour, and a found-family feel that balanced out the angst and revenge vibes beautifully. It gave the story heart without taking away Arabella’s independence or strength.
Overall, this was a cozy paranormal romance with teeth — funny, emotional, and full of second-chance tension. If you love immortal grudges, vampire drama, reluctant reunions, and the question of whether love is worth risking your heart again, this one is such a good time.
