Adam Burke thought he had the right man, but he made a costly mistake. Now he’s looking for payback.
After misidentifying a traitor—an error that crippled his best friend and burned millions in government assets—he unravels the conspiracy, and his plan becomes somewhat muddled. Somehow. Someway. Justice will be done.
The only problem is, will justice get in the way of retribution?
The twists and turns, the near captures and escapes, then the takedown, keeps the reader right there. Your mind wants to ride along and keep up with Adam. This was a solo kind of mission, in which a new, quick team, is made to take down the bad person. Oh the lure of "easy money."
I didn’t enjoy this one. Not all the team was on it and there wasn’t any intrigue, nothing for my mind to work out. I’m hopeful the next one brings the team, perhaps a certain injured bartender and more intrigue.
This book does a good job of wrapping up the unexpected twist from the previous book. However it does not really explain the why of things. Perhaps we will never know.
