This book covers application of Visual Basic 2008 and 2010 in a SCADA application. The Visual Basic starts at a very primary level moving through to communication with industrial equipment. The use of RS232 communication, animated displays, bespoke User Controls, exporting data to external applications such as Excel and program publishing are all covered. This book is intended for engineers who are familiar with PLC’s are other industrial equipment, but not necessarily Visual Basic. Knowledge of proprietary SCADA systems would be an advantage, but not necessary. By the end of the book, the reader should be competent is basic SCADA principles and applications, as well as the ability to generate their own User Controls.
