What do you think?

I was there to catch a story, instead, I caught the Pres’ eye…
Isabelle
He’s ten years older than me. An MC pres with dark secrets. By all accounts, a dangerous man… and I’m creeping around his clubhouse trying to break the story of the year.
Nothing much happens in Hade Harbor, and with Senior year looming, I’m running out of time to catch my big break, and get the experience I need to land my dream job. Because if I don’t make a name for myself at the college paper before graduation, I know exactly what is waiting for me; the marriage of convenience and country-club life my parents want for me.
I cannot afford to fail.
But blending in at the clubhouse isn’t easy and nothing gets past Cole Bailey. His eyes are on me from the moment I walk in, and they never stray.
He knows I’m lying. He knows I’m looking for something. My cover story only makes him smirk. He calls my bluff at every turn.
He sees right through my lies, even the ones I’ve told myself.
But as I dig deeper, I start to understand that Hade Harbor isn’t the simple small town I always thought it was, and now, I’m in too deep, with a target on my back and only one man capable of protecting me…
The one I came to expose
Good girl meets bad boy in this small town, age gap MC romance.

December 16, 2025The way I am already so obsessed with Cole because of how much of a big brother he was to Marcus. Somebody take my money and give me this book asap

I loved Cole and Isabelle's story. It has the rich girl and wrong sides of the track boy vibes. Their differences spark that initial attraction that continued to unfurl as the story went along. I loved Cole as an MC president. He was dangerou, but protective with good instincts that make him a strong leader. I loved his chemistry with Isabelle. They could banter in a way that had me smiling with them. I liked the plot and the various hurdles they faced. The only thing that caught me off guard was the spicy scenes were so good but finished a tad abruptly. Mila's storytelling ability is so strong though that I couldnt stop reading

This book was so unlike previous Mila Kane books.
I was reading and could not stop - which is always with her books - but this wasn't as dark as HHU books.
Good and fast read, decent plot and smut and MCs.
5/5.

Kicking my feet giddy! Like, giddy, GIDDY! I legit can’t stop smiling.
I also can’t describe the feeling of euphoria and utter satisfaction of having read Cole Bailey’s story after anxiously waiting for it ever since he was introduced in the Hellions of Hade Harbor series. (I’m sorry, Marcus. This Bailey brother has my heart).
It hit the mark. The premise had me excited to see his world, but the storyline enveloped me. I was in it. I was invested. I was (and still am) crushing on Cole. HAAAARD.
Kane wrote him with so much appeal that his character bled through. All eyes, all attention were on him and for very justifiable reasons.
Fellow MC romance readers need to add this to their immediate TBR. Put it at the top of the heap because Cole Bailey, his MC brothers, and this entire gripping story is pure literary escapism on a heavenly level.
Kane’s writing is addictive no matter what romance sub-genre she writes under. She’s written books under Mafia romance and Sports (hockey) romance, and now she’s expanded into MC romance. Yet all of high quality storytelling.
It’s not required to read the Hellions of Hade Harbor series, but I highly recommend doing so. Cole is introduced in those books, and it gives a fuller insight into his backstory and familial dynamic with his younger brother. It also introduces Isabelle and her connections with some of the secondary characters that appear in this book.
✔ Academia meets MC world
✔ Opposite sides of the tracks
✔ Age gap
✔ Forbidden romance
✔ Small Town
✔ She falls/ He falls harder
✔ Hidden truths
✔ Half nice/ Half spice
✔ Action and suspense
This book has it all. It checked all the boxes I was hoping to see in a MC romance read. The plot was plotting. It had complexity, some unpredictability, and substantial developments. Genuine, solid friendships that came across as realistic, relatable, and long-standing. A romantic relationship between its lead characters that gradually evolved over time from piqued interest to deep-rooted love. It has nice and all things spice. Cole’s and Isabelle’s chemistry is just the starter. You’ll devour the rest, guaranteed. *waggles brows*
The dark MC elements are present throughout. There’s no mistaking the dangerous world Isabelle steps into. Cole, his club, and the risky lives they live added the suspense and ominous atmosphere.
As this does have dark themes, readers need to be cautious going into this book. It contains sensitive subject matters that some may find disturbing and/or triggering such as domestic/familial abuse, alcohol dependency, coercion, attempted SA, violence, and death. It’s intended for readers of age.
I like that this story had both light and shade, and switched back and forth effortlessly. When the moments were light, it was smile-inducing, fun, flirty, and totally swoony. The dark settings were anxiety-ridden, hold-your-breath kind of moments that were as equally thrilling as Cole’s and Isabelle’s playful interactions.
This is the first book in this series and it could not have been a more epic introduction to the Harbor Hounds MC. I’m already itching to read the next book and see which one of Cole’s best friends from his club will be the next story.
The only reason why I hadn’t rated this one full ratings is because there were a couple of minor details that I felt were either forgotten about, added no real significance in the end, or was left unanswered altogether. It left me wondering about them.
But that said, this was very well-paced, told from dual POVs, and transports you into a vivid and captivating backdrop. Once you settle into the story and get hooked into these characters’ lives, it becomes pretty unputdownable. It’s hard to fault either MC. I adore both, and I love the entire opposites attract aspect of their relationship. The age-gap between the two was also quite appealing. Despite Cole being older, he never once displayed dominance or used Isabelle’s youth or lack of real world experience to his advantage. He has morals. He’s protective, caring, loyal, and can be playful when the mood calls for it. Isabelle’s youth shines through, but not in an immature way. She’s sharp and passionate, and despite having been raised in upper-class circles, she’s down-to-earth, hardworking, and warm-hearted. Their dynamic is relatively well-balanced, in my opinion. The good with the bad. She’s the positive influence whilst he brings out the risk-taker out of her.
The found family element was another layer the elevated their story. The close-knit friendships doubled as familial bonds. These secondary characters provided comedic relief, a sounding board, and overall support system for both Cole and Isabelle whenever needed. The interactions were just as gripping, and the ongoing secondary plot surrounding them is something I’m excited to see play out further as the series grows.
Kane has fast become an auto-read author for me, and this book again solidified why. The writing is easy to follow yet so immersive. The characters are relatable and lovable. They go through difficult life experiences and make tough decisions that I, and many others could resonate and sympathise with. Putting aside the romance element, I connected with the life lessons Cole and Isabelle learn, in particular with taking chances and opening yourself up to change.
With the perfect level of spice, thrills and spills thrown in, and one hell of an introduction to a new addition set within the world of Hade Harbor, this is my type of MC romance comfort read that I will undoubtedly read again and again. I was left reeling, and I’m still not over it.
This is a worthy book hangover waiting to happen.

Im such a full blown, die hard fan of Mila’s books, and let me tell you that COLE AND ISABELLE ARE PERFECTION! Mila always writes her men obsessed and possessive, and they are also always loyal to a fault. And it’s just so hot!
Just like his brother Marcus, Cole knew exactly the moment he became obsessed with his woman, which was the moment he laid his eyes on her. And from that moment on she was safe, and HIS.
I had been waiting for Cole’s story for what feels like forever. Every time he showed up in the Hellions of Hade Harbour books, I loved him that little bit more, so getting inside his head and finally seeing this man get his own happy ending (multiple times *wink wink*) had me in all my feels, before I’d even properly started. He deserved this book. He deserved Isabelle. And he deserved to finally have someone looking after his heart for a change.
Cole was EVERYTHING I wanted him to be. He has spent so much of his life protecting everyone around him, especially Marcus, and taking on responsibilities that were never really his to begin with. He is intimidating, dangerous and very much the man you do not want to fuck with, but the way he looked after Isabelle absolutely melted me. This man notices EVERYTHING when it comes to her. Her safety, what she needs, what she wants, whether she’s eaten, whether she’s okay. Even when he was fighting what was happening between them, he was still taking care of her. That protective Papa Bear side of Cole had me weak.
And Isabelle!!! I loved her backbone. She might come from this wealthy, sheltered world where everyone seems to have already decided what her life should look like, but she has opinions, dreams and absolutely no intention of quietly doing what she’s told. Watching her walk into Cole’s world chasing a story and then proceed to give this scary MC President a run for his money was so good. She challenged him, called him out and stood beside him when it mattered. Cole could be terrifying to everyone else, meanwhile Isabelle was basically like… okay, and? *hand on hip*
Their relationship was top tier. Cole genuinely wanted Isabelle to have everything she dreamed of. He never wanted to be another person deciding her future for her. And Isabelle saw past the MC President, the reputation and all the shit Cole had convinced himself made him wrong for her. She saw him. I loved watching Cole slowly realise that maybe his entire life didn’t have to be about surviving and sacrificing himself for everyone else. Maybe he was allowed to want something for himself too.
And yes, getting everyone from the Hellions of Hade Harbour series popping up again made me ridiculously happy. I love this whole group so much, so every familiar face felt like a little bonus. Marcus especially, because knowing how fiercely Cole has always protected him makes finally seeing Cole find his own person even more special. And now Mila has me eyeballing Gage and Maddox because I NEED to know what is coming for those two.
I already loved Cole before this book, but somehow I came out loving him even more. The grumpy MC President with the giant protective streak, a filthy mouth and a heart he keeps buried under about seventeen layers of armour was always going to get me. Isabelle was exactly the woman I wanted for him too, strong enough to stand beside him, stubborn enough to challenge him and loving enough to make him realise he was worth choosing.
Cole finally got his happy ending and I am so happy for my Papa Bear. This was worth the wait!

We’ve seen Cole throughout different series, but we finally get his own story. The only thing we knew about him was that he was Marcus’s older brother and president of his motorcycle club the Harbor Hounds. Another thing we know about him is that he would do anything it takes to keep his brother away from the MC life. He’s there when anyone needs him. He’s actually helped Marcus‘s friends before. This time, however he is shocked to see a woman who clearly doesn’t belong at his bar. He thinks she’s one of his brothers friends, but he’s not certain so he gives her the benefit of the doubt however, the minute he sees her, he knows she’s up to something and when it comes to his club, he protects it with everything. When he catches her, she seduces him, and they have an intimate moment between them and now he wants her. He know she’s up to something, but he doesn’t care. He’ll do whatever it takes to make her his.
Isabelle is working on a story that is gonna take her to new heights in journalism. She knows that the Harbor Hounds are up to their necks in illegal stuff, but she doesn’t know how to prove it. She decides to go to their bar and see if she can talk to one of the guys and that is when she meets Cole. She knows who he is. She’s attracted to him right away, but she knows that if he finds out, she’s there to expose him, he won’t stop until he gets rids of her. When she is caught, she has no choice but to flirt with Marcus, which ends up in a steamy encounter. However, now Cole wants her and she wants him. This makes it difficult to write her story when she starts to get to know him and sees that there’s more to him than what people think. He’s actually kind and very protective of his club and his brother. He’s also not a player like people assume. When they start something due to their intense chemistry, it’s only a matter of time before he finds out. What will happen then will he oughta explain will he care or will he throw her out?
Mila Kane had me on the edge of my seat. I liked him since I met him. He was always worried about his club and he would do whatever in order to protect himself and his club. I liked Isabel. She wasn’t scared of him and kept trying to write her story but at the same time she didn’t want to hurt him. Their chemistry was so hot that all of their friends could see it. I love how protective he was of her no matter what she did. I love that no matter what was expected of her she still wanted to be with him. Despite what she was doing, she tried to figure out a way to be together. I loved all the side characters and seeing familiar faces. This was definitely an action packed rollercoaster. It was filled with drama, humor, danger, heat, secrets, chemistry, action, and shocking twists.

A MC romance with good girl × bad boy, small town, and age gap? I’M SO IN!
I knew I was going to love this book ever since that spicy scene between Cole and Isabelle in Wicked Ends. The chemistry and connection between this couple is incredible; it hooks you from the very first second and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book. I started it yesterday and couldn't put it down until I finished it at 3 AM!!
I met Cole in Marcus's book, and I knew he’d make a great MMC when his turn came—and I wasn't wrong. Such an intriguing man, hardened by everything he’s been through, yet fiercely loyal and protective of his own (Yes, he’s definitely Papa Bear ❤️🔥). You really empathize with him once you understand the heavy burden he’s carried on his shoulders since he was young, and you feel his drive to keep standing at all costs for everyone depending on him. What makes you respect him even more is that, despite how unfair life was to him, he held no bitterness—he accepted it right from the start: "𝑀𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒. 𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑."
If there's one thing the Bailey boys know how to do, it's how to love and make their women feel special. I loved that from the moment he realized she was the one for him, he didn't run away or second-guess it. The way he protected and cared for her like no one else ever had completely melted me: “[...] 𝑰 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒂 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓.” [...] “𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒂 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆.”
Isabelle is such a smart, strong, loyal, and hilariously stubborn FMC. A woman with immense courage and grit who never backed down in front of anyone or anything. Determined, she fought for her dreams, to carve out her own path, and to avoid ending up with a life like her parents.
I loved that they were able to find middle ground to balance their lives and dreams. They didn't give things up; instead, they bet on a future together: “𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆, 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆… 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆… 𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕. 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖.”
Both share a completely loyal, protective, and devoted love for each other:
“𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒐𝒇.” — Isabelle
“𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓.“ - Cole
Mila Kane never fails to deliver with her books and characters. The wait for this story is 100% worth it, and I can't wait to see what else this universe has in store for us!
“𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰’𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒐’𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆. 𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒆. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆.” 𝑰 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔. “𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚’𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒅.”

ARC review — Thank you to the author for the early copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. ❤️
We’ve already gotten to know Cole through Marcus’s POV, but getting the insight into what Cole actually thinks and believes was something I really loved. He isn’t the stereotypical MC, and I really liked that. He didn’t necessarily choose this life for himself—circumstances made him who he is—and I think that shows in the way he handles things. It was a refreshing change.
There were little moments that showed me what kind of person Cole was, but this one especially stood out to me:
“I wasn’t asking about what you had to do to feel safe. I was asking about what he did that made you feel unsafe.”
And Cole in general? 🥵 I was absolutely eating it up. His confidence, how open and flirty he was, and the fact that he knew what he wanted without being the typical MC who sleeps around just because he can… yeah, he definitely made me swoon. 😂
Their chemistry was SO good. The banter, the physical tension, the way they interacted with each other—I loved all of it. And underneath that, they also had the emotional depth when the story needed it, which made their relationship even better for me.
Now, the FMC… 😅 She definitely wasn’t my favourite. She rubbed me the wrong way pretty early on, especially with her determination to dig for information about the club when there was a real possibility that people could get hurt in the process. At times, it felt like getting her break and the story she wanted mattered more than the consequences for everyone else, and that really frustrated me.
Her snooping also gave me SO much secondhand embarrassment. 😂 Watching her get caught had me stressing, although Cole catching on and realizing he needed to be cautious around her was definitely one of the better things to come from it.
I was really happy to see her finally stand up to her parents, and when everything hit the fan, I loved seeing her be there and make the right choices. There were definitely moments where I was thinking, “Okay, she finally has some sense!” only to immediately think… “Never mind.” 😂
Despite my frustrations with her, I really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh, smile and, thanks to Cole, swoon more than once. The happy ending also left me completely satisfied.
This probably isn’t my favourite Mila Kane book that I’ve read so far, but I still really enjoyed it. Cole’s character was definitely the standout for me, and I loved that his story deviated from some of the usual MC romance clichés. I’m definitely curious to see what Mila Kane has in store for us next. ❤️

I swear, Mila Kane just has this way of pulling you in from page one, making you completely addicted to every single page until suddenly you’ve devoured the entire book in just a few hours! Give me a dark MC romance with the sweet good girl and the sexy bad boy with my favorite age gap, ALL the emotion, AND hot-as-fire spice, and I am absolutely THERE for it every single time! ❤️🔥
We met Cole in the past books, he’s Marcus’ older brother. The GORGEOUS, intimidating, grumpy, in control, president of the Harbor Hounds MC and his whole goal has always been to protect his brother from this MC life. Cole is the ultimate “Papa Bear”. Hardened by a lifetime of carrying responsibilities that were never supposed to be his, he’s protective, loyal, and willing to put everything on the line for the people he loves, even his own life. But underneath that tough man is a man who has spent his entire life believing he has to endure it all instead of actually living and this man deserves so much freaking love!
Isabelle. I absolutely adored her. She’s smart, stubborn, determined, and has so much fight in her. She is freaking hysterical, I loved her humor! She refuses to let anyone dictate her future, especially when it comes to the life her wealthy family expects her to have. Her heart’s desire is to be a journalist. And she decides to go “undercover” to investigate the Hounds MC for her big break story.
These two are truly the definition of opposites attract. I loved that neither one had to sacrifice their dreams for the other. They found a way to choose each other AND the futures they wanted. This man, they we he becomes so protective of her, the way he slowly realizes he DOES deserve her and to be happy, his “Goldilocks”, it was everything! The chemistry between Cole and Isabelle is from the very beginning, I mean it is pure hot fire. The way this man becomes so obsessed with her, with her pleasure, yesssss pleaseeee!❤️🔥
I loved getting to see everyone from the Hellions Of Hade Harbor Hockey series and love their group friends. And I am so intrigued with Gage and Maddox and I HOPE they are the next books with the two sisters,?!?!?!?
The Hellions Hockey series is one of my most favorite dark hockey series ever. But there was something about this book. It just hit every emotion, every feeling, it hit down deep. These two were inevitable and you could feel it right away. You need to add this book now! I can’t wait for the next one!

Isabelle has dreams of becoming an investigative journalist, but all the campus paper ever asks her to do is write a gossip column. Wanting to be taken more seriously, she decides to go undercover to The Clutch, the local biker bar to learn more about the Harbor Hounds MC and their secrets. The club President notices her right away, and when someone comes in guns blazing, he puts his life on the line to protect her. Almost dying isn’t enough to keep her away from her story though, but when she gets caught snooping around a few days later she pretends she’s there for him. This leads her to do the complete opposite of what her country club parents have asked of her, and soon enough she’s findine every excuse to see him and hoping to escape the arranged marriage her father has planned.
Cole never wanted to live his life in the MC, and always planned to get out, but when his father is thrown in jail and reveals the extent of his debt, Cole finds himself with no choice but to take over in hopes of keeping his family safe. From the moment Isabelle walks into The Clutch, he knows she’s different, and while he doesn’t trust her motives for being there, he can’t force himself to stay away. Cole believes that he could never be good enough for Isabelle, but he finds himself wanting to be better, and even when chaos keeps finding him time and time again, he knows she’s worth every bit of pain.
I received an early copy of this book from @Booksprout and I absolutely loved it! As much as I loved the Hellions Hockey series, there was just something about this one that hit differently. Cole and Isabelle are the definition of opposites attract but there’s just something about them that fits perfectly. Both of them have been forced into their current positions by their fathers, and while Isabelle’s father’s businesses may have been above board, it doesn’t make him a good person. I love the way Cole shows up for her, even when he’s mad, wanting to ensure her safety at all cost, and Isabelle stands up for him every chance she gets, even making it clear to her family where her loyalties lie. With people conspiring against them both, and wanting to keep them apart, they are a perfect example that sometimes all Goldilocks needs is her Papa Bear to find her perfect fit.

Mila Kane, you've done it again and created another amazing story! I absolutely loved this story from start to finish! I've read it twice just because I truly love the world of Hade Harbor and the characters just call to me. I remember reading Marcus's book and the intrigue that started with the small moments with Cole had me foaming at the mouth when she finally announced Cole was getting his own story.
Like Marcus, Cole was hiding so much more than what he was willing to share with anyone. He was slightly forced into the MC life and had accepted the debt from his father simply because he wanted those around him to live their lives and not be weighed down. I loved that cared that much about those around him, he was loyal and fierce in his dedication. The more that was shared with his relationship with Finn, the harder I fell for this man. I loved his gruff exterior and need to keep the world at arm's length. It was the only way he could carry the debt of his father without resenting everything and hating what his life had become.
It made it so much sweeter when he falls for Isabelle and her snooping ways. I loved how their relationship began and developed. They had such a fun chemistry as they kept pushing each other thinking the other would break and not knowing how much they balanced each other. I was feral for the slow build between these two and I found myself waiting as hard as both of them.
I loved Isabelle and her need to follow her reporter instincts. I did appreciate that her instincts were a bit rusty and not quite refined. It made for a more interesting story and setup. But I love that when she follows her truth, she goes all in and realizes what really matters when writing stories. I adored that aspect and the growth that Isabelle goes through. I loved her big moment with her parents and dropping her keys. I was so excited to see her become so much more.
But really, I just love this world. I loved all the cameos from previous characters and the small nod to HHU Hockey. Hade Harbor has been such a great world to enter, and this story was a great addition. I'm beyond ready for Marcus and Gage as it's clear they're both feral for someone who is supposed to be off limits. I'm ready to learn how another MMC falls for their FMC and becomes obsessed.

Cole by Mila Kane is the first title in the new Harbor Hounds MC series and from the first page I was hooked.
Having discovered Mila Kane's books last year and devoured the Hellions of Hade Harbor series, the wait for a story centred on Cole Bailey, president of the local MC and the older brother to Marcus from Wicked Ends, has been well worth it.
The return to the Hade Harbor universe was completely captivating as it follows Cole and Isabelle (Issy), a Hade Harbour University student and member of the friend group around the hockey players. It was well written and expertly crafted with many elements woven together for a thoroughly entertaining read.
Cole and Issy as the main characters were amazing. Cole was slowly revealed as more than just the intimidating MC prez. He is fiercely loyal, and protective to those he cares about, tough, sharp witted and intelligent running the MC and their businesses and keeping the brothers safe whilst as the attraction and relationship that develops with Issy, a softer, intense and deeper side of him, shows that he wants more than just the life of a biker.
Issy, intelligent, determined, genuine and loving was a surprising but perfect match for Cole as the initial simmering attraction blossomed into desire and a meaningful connection that made each of them better and strive for something better for the other.
The plot and storyline consisted of many layers as it progressed, seemingly effortlessly, which easily kept me turning the pages with the intrigue, drama, action, spice, romance and the amazing cast of supporting characters that really contributed to the feeling of investment I had for this story and it's characters. As it hurtled towards its conclusion I was thoroughly satisfied by how the author tied things together as well as intrigued by the hints or possibilities as to how the series could be continued with further books. I hope Cole's best friends get stories?
I am both happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to read this ARC and I really look forward to the next Mila Kane book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

After reading about Cole in his brother Marcus’ book, I most definitely needed this man’s story in my life. And he did NOT disappoint. 🫠
Cole and Marcus’ father was the leader of the Harbor Hounds MC. While he did everything he could to keep Marcus away from that life, he basically forced Cole into it. Then their father gets locked up, leaving Cole stuck running the club whether he wants to or not.
Enter Isabelle.
Isabelle writes a gossip column at her college, but she wants to be taken seriously as a journalist. The school editor hates her, so she knows she needs a BIG story to prove herself.
Her brilliant idea? Investigate the Harbor Hounds.
She heads straight to The Clutch, the bar they own, looking for information. She already knows exactly who Cole is since she’s friends with Marcus, but Cole has no idea what this young, rich college girl is doing alone in his grungy biker bar.
He’s definitely taken with her from the first time he sees her, but he’s also immediately suspicious. He knows she’s hiding something, and he’s determined to figure out exactly what it is.
Meanwhile, Isabelle’s home life is pretty miserable. Her family has money, but they’re cold and completely unsupportive of her wanting to become a journalist. Her father would much rather control her life and marry her off to a much older man. 🙄
I really loved the suspense in this one! There were some twists and little details I genuinely wasn’t expecting, which kept me hooked.
But COLE. 🫠🫠🫠
This man was so freaking swoony. He fell HARD for Isabelle, and I loved how sweet he was with her. She goes into this story thinking he’s this awful, dangerous biker she can expose, only to slowly realize that the man underneath everything she assumed about him is actually a really good man. 🥹
And I loved watching her perception of him completely change as she got to know the real Cole.
I loved this book! After meeting more of Cole’s friends, I’m already excited to see whose story we get next. 👀

I’ve been waiting for these two for what feels like forever. Ever since I peeped that they were going to be together and since then I’ve been so hyped and this book absolutely exceeded my expectations I loved it so much and the pacing of the book was so good and every time we got to uncover some hidden truths I was at the edge of my seat.
Isabelle is just my girl, I love her down bad she’s such a good fmc and feels so much especially when it comes to her family issues, my heart did break for her cause she just serves the world. Isabelle is a reporter and wanting to be an journalist and she loves some edgy stuff but she’s of course sheltered when it comes to certain stuff
Isabelle is helping someone uncover some truths and the mc intentions with certain things so she spies on them which doesn’t lasts long cause Cole figure her out right away and knows she’s familiar but can’t place it until he do. Cole and Isa are freaking everything, I love them so much and seeing how they come together (pun intended) and start to trust each other is amazing
Cole my man, my man, my mannn. I just love the hot older brother so when he was introduced in Marcus book I was already in love with him, he’s just so freaking hot. Cole is the president of his mc club and is trying to change it around for the better but someone is in his way trying to take him down.
Cole and Isabelle are just so amazing together, I just couldn’t get enough of them. This book was such a great start to this new series and I’m already so hyped for so many possible couples!. The plot in this book was written so well I loved every second of it, I can read like 10 more books on Isabelle and Cole I just love them.
Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc💖

Cole is the first book in the Harbor Hounds MC series, and it's dangerous and hot but emotional, too. This book follows Cole (duh) and Isabelle as they meet and then find they've got this instant pull toward each other despite being such opposites. He's the president of his MC, and she's his younger brother's friend and an aspiring journalist. I won't give away too much, but the first night literally goes off with a bang while she's at his bar trying to sneakily get some information. They're an unlikely pair given that they come from such different backgrounds, but there's an undeniable pull between them Although, with so much working against them, can they ever find their HEA?
I love Cole as the MMC. He's a man that's bogged down with so much responsibility for his MC and his family, but even though he's into some not so legal things he's got a great heart and (mostly) good intentions. Like many of Kane's characters, Cole is morally gray and complicated, which is what genuinely endears me to him. And then there's Isabelle who at first seems sort of naive and cute but turns out to be really quite smart and so loving and understanding with Cole. The way these two see who the other is deep down is swoony and helps to create this passion that brings them together.
Also, the plot of Cole is phenomenal, and I was instantly invested in what was happening. There's mystery, suspense, and the sense that not everyone is exactly who they say they are. Little by little, truths are revealed and a foundation for Cole and Isabelle's romance is built. Everything going on between them and around them is what helps create their connection, and I just couldn't get enough of their story.
So, if you love morally gray characters as much as I do and plots that will have you guessing how it'll all pan out, then you need to read Cole. This book had me feeling all the things, and I'm so excited to see who gets their story told next.

I honestly thoroughly enjoyed this, and that’s saying a lot because i’ve been in such a bad slump! I mean i stayed up until 5am to finish it because I couldn’t put it down.
I read a couple reviews regarding the book and the main characters that made me iffy about reads it because USUALLY I get second hand embarrassment when the main character is caught snooping/downright idiotic but it was tolerable here. I enjoyed how sweet but stern Cole was, and I can’t lie I enjoyed Belle too, even if she sometimes did stupid things. I will say I would’ve appreciated more from the ending but I also get it’s an interconnected standalone, and also she was young but it’s just my preference to have more to a book ending.
I don’t want to spoil to much but basically Belle is an aspiring college journalist trying to get her big break and her friend Marcus has a brother who runs an MC due to their father, called the Harbor Hounds and wants to get intel on the biker club by going “undercover” to get information whether that were through other bikers or the MC president himself. (All i’m going to spill, highly recommend for a decent plot and romance!)
Safety:
Experience: Non-virgin experienced heroine (finally) and Non-manwhore hero (THANKFULLY)
Celibacy: Been a while for both, couple months to a year at least.
Spice: Protection, no protection, bc not mentioned. no kinks either tbh (tad boring).
OW/OM drama: Not really, a woman named kiki who slept with half the club is interested but Cole shuts her down. As for Isabelle, mentions of brief hookup internally that’s all, flirting from noob MC’s nothing serious.
Trigger: Murder mentioned, guns, drugging, and attempted SA!! (Not by MMC) very lightly touched on but still there.
(Also which they did more about this! felt to overlooked in my opinion.)

I received an ARC from the very talented author, and now I will attempt to write a spoiler free review.
I was so excited to get my hands on this ARC. Mila is my favorite author when it comes to mafia romance, so when I heard she was writing a motorcycle club series I was beyond ecstatic. The one thing I was worried about while going into this was the fact that I haven't read any of her Hellion's of Hade Harbor series and I was unsure if I needed to before reading this. In case you are wondering, you don't. The characters in that other series do make an appearance but you don't have to read those books first. Now onto this story with the age gap, opposites attract, good girl/bad boy vibes....
I loved it. The characters and the world building sucked me right in. This story was unexpected in that it wasn't as hard as her mafia books, but it is as the cover portrays it being as, a small town MC romance. It does have some hard elements don't get me wrong, but not as hard as her mafia. I did not put this book down until the very end and I finished it in a day as a result. I'm just sad that it's over now.
I loved Cole. Loved Papa Bear. There's just something about a taciturn, loyal man that gets to me. He cared deeply about the people in his orbit while at the same time being a man that no one should mess with.
Isabelle, aka Goldilocks, was also a great character. I could feel her hunger to make a break as a journalist and the naivete of her age. Her heart, her humor, and sad home life makes her relatable.
The plot with it's twists and turns kept me enmeshed in the story. The action was nail biting. The spice? Yes please. I loved seeing their journey and the direction these books will go in. I can't wait for book 2.

First off I loved Cole!! He was great! I loved that he was this bad boy MC pres but underneath all that hardness and bad boy persona he is actual a really great guy with a good heart who wants to protect his “found family”. I also loved that Isabella is a strong FMC how doesn’t back down and gives it right back, especially verbally. Their banter and scenes together were sooo good, funny and hot. You could feel the sexual tension in waves.
I could honestly feel this like soulmate chemistry/ energy between them, and even though it happened fast, for me it didn’t feel forced like so many other books I have read. It is so obvious that he falls first for her and hard, and she makes him want to be a better man, and actually have a life away from the bad stuff he is kinda forced to do.
I love when they stick up/ by each other. Their longing for each other when they are not around is ❤️❤️. Even though they are two different people who live two different types of lives, and there is an age gap, they still connect and sometimes opposites do attract and are actually meant for each other.
I was excited for Cole’s story, I was very happy with the outcome of his character and their love story, bc I knew the bad boy was going to be a teddy bear for his girl. I am really looking forward to Maddox and Gage’s books bc I definitely loved those guys. Also is was so nice to get cameos so some of my favorite hellions and Selena’s lines are still the best haha.

I loved this story so much.
Once I started reading I just couldn’t stop.
Both Cole and Isabelle were characters that were so endearing and had me so invested in them.
Cole was everything I’d imagined him would be.
Sacrificing his life and dreams for his brother Marcus.
A caring and responsible MC president to his members.
And a man that ever fell in love with a woman it would his own and only.
Isabelle was an absolute darling. She has an innocence about her. But she’s not naive.
She’s smart and daring. She has sass and she doesn’t let fear stop her.
Her and Cole are dynamic together. Their encounters are always filled with intensity.
Their sexual chemistry is just as consuming. The lust and passion between is hot and spicy.
They are absolutely explosive and delicious together.
Getting to see the emotional and mental changes in them as individuals was so gratifying.
I loved getting to see the changes they go through. The way they start seeing each other.
Isabelle learning about the man Cole is. Not just the president of an MC. But the actual man behind the cut.
And Cole seeing not just the rich girl. Not just his brother’s friend. But the woman.
The most heartwarming of all was how they changed each other for the better.
She gave him hope for a future. And he gave her courage to be heard.
Along with what’s taken place with Cole and Isabelle there is upheaval in the club.
Things are getting more dangerous and something is seriously wrong.
And Cole needs to figure out what’s going on before it’s too late.
This books has it all, suspense, drama, spice and characters that you can help but love and cheer for.

Mila Kane really does know how to write a man who is completely, unapologetically down bad, and Cole absolutely delivered on that front.
I loved finally getting his story and seeing more of the actual MC side of this world. Cole has spent so much of his life protecting everyone around him, so watching him find someone who saw beyond his tough MC president exterior and became his person was incredibly satisfying. Isabelle was such a good match for him, too. She had enough backbone to challenge him while still understanding the weight he carries.
One of my favorite parts was the found family aspect for both of them. Neither Cole nor Isabelle necessarily fit into the lives their fathers had planned for them, and I loved watching them find a place where they could fully belong. And the side characters?? Mila definitely dropped just enough little breadcrumbs to have me already wondering what and who is coming next.
My only real complaint is that there were a few moments I wanted to experience more fully. Some of the action or bigger emotional beats felt like they were glossed over when I would have happily spent more time right in the middle of them.
Overall, though, this was exactly the kind of possessive, protective, completely obsessed MMC I expect from Mila Kane, wrapped up in an MC romance with heart, found family, and plenty of setup to keep me invested in this world.
4 stars! 🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
I received an ARC of Cole by Mila Kane, and having read quite a few of Ms. Kane’s stories, I’m already familiar with some of the characters and the world she’s created. What I really enjoyed about this one was seeing her switch things up a bit and take a side character and make him the main character. I thought that was a fun change and gave the story a fresh feel.
I don’t typically read MC romances, but Ms. Kane did a great job incorporating some of the traditional elements associated with the genre without making them quite as descriptive or overwhelming as they can be in other MC books. It felt like a nice balance for someone who doesn’t normally gravitate toward that genre.
I really enjoyed the opposites-attract dynamic between Cole and the FMC. And Cole’s whole “touch her and die” attitude? Absolutely here for it. 😏 Their chemistry and his protective side were definitely some of my favorite parts of the story.
The plot was a little predictable in places, but honestly, that didn’t take away from my enjoyment. It was a fast, easy read with characters I enjoyed and just enough drama and romance to keep me turning the pages.
Overall, a solid 4-star read and another enjoyable story from Mila Kane. I’ll definitely be picking up more from her!.

Isabelle & Cole’s story ❤️🔥
Mila is one of my favorite authors and she definitely didn’t disappoint with this one!
I usually don’t read MC books, but I decided to give this one a chance and I have no regrets. I really enjoyed the storyline and the twists were something I didn’t expect.
Isabelle was such a great FMC. She was fearless, strong and mature for her age, but still had moments when she was unsure of herself, which made her feel more real.
And Cole… those tattoos and that scary MC look definitely didn’t tell the whole story. 😂 He was protective, caring and actually really sweet underneath it all.
The chemistry between them was like fire. I loved how they both knew that having a future together was almost impossible, but they still couldn’t stop being drawn to each other. You could really feel the attraction and tension between them.
I would have liked to see a little more of Isabelle’s struggle after the attack by her father’s friend. I think that could have added even more emotion to her story. But at the same time, Isabelle was such a strong character that I can understand why she handled it the way she did.
Overall, this had everything I’m looking for in a romance. Great chemistry, tension, emotions, suspense, unexpected twists, a strong FMC and a protective MMC.
Definitely glad I gave MC romance a chance with this one! ❤️.

FARK ME! This is everything I expected from Cole and somehow the man still managed to exceed expectations. I have been waiting for his book and GOOD LORD. He is possessive, dangerous, completely fucking unhinged and has absolutely no interest in pretending otherwise. Basically, Mila Kane took everything I love in a morally questionable MMC, shoved it into one man and said here you go. Thank you very fucking much.
And Cole with Isabelle? Yep. Ate that shit up. The obsession, the possessiveness, the tension, the chemistry... all of it. Once Cole decides she's his, that's pretty much it and honestly, I expected nothing less from that psycho. I also loved Isabelle though because she gives him plenty back and never felt like she disappeared underneath his massive personality. And the spice? Wellllll... I had expectations and they were definitely met.
I absolutely flew through this. It was dark, violent, filthy, completely addictive and exactly the kind of chaos I wanted from this book. But I also really loved getting more of Cole and Marcus and seeing their relationship because there is so much history and loyalty between those two. This was easily one of my favourite parts outside of Cole and Isabelle and I loved seeing that different side of Cole come through with him. Was Cole worth the wait? Absofuckinglutely.

I was so excited to read this book, the teaser from Marcus's book was just not enough. I knew they were not going to dissapoint me.
Let's start with him. I love that he was tough and cold towards everyone except her. He had a soft spot for her, and we ALL could tell. He was sweet and protective. He let her know his intentions since the beginning.
The slow burn until he decided to give in was just so much fun. To see how he was all worked up and jealous, but at the same time he was looking at her and only her. Crazy!
Now, the FMC was well written. She knew what she was going into, and she didn't care at all. She was all in from the start. I love how she stood up for herself, not letting anyone tear that confidence from her. Also, she was very mature and decisive as well, This made the whole story better, because we did not have to deal with childish behavior or unnecessary drama.
At first, she just wanted to reveal all the dirt from the club. Well, she tried... 😂😂
A good story, very well paced and not too long, the perfect amount of everything!
I loved how their relationship developed, it wasn't hurried and we were able to enjoy both parts of the story, Cole's and Isabella's.
It did not disappoint at all ❤️

I absolutely loved this book! It was such a huge page-turner that I completely devoured it in one night — once I started, I just couldn't put it down!
Cole really gets an amazing character reveal compared to what we previously knew about him, and I loved seeing more of his personality come through. The way he's always caring for everyone else, combined with that possessive side of him, just makes him extra yummy! 😍
Issy was funny, realistic and so determined. She was such a great FMC, and I genuinely really enjoyed reading about her and watching her journey unfold.
This book had all the ups and downs and took me through every emotion — I laughed, cried and felt everything in between! I absolutely loved the development of the romance between Cole and Issy, especially how honest and transparent Cole was throughout.
This book also seemed to jump into a more mature, adult-style genre, which I absolutely loved! It felt like a really exciting step for the series.
Would 100% recommend this to all my friends, and I'll definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for more books about the Hade Harbor MC because I'm not ready to say goodbye to them yet! 🤞📚.

Mila brings us back to Hade Harbor with a look at the older Bailey brother and his MC.
Isabelle: journalist, rich kid, controlling parents, college student, good girl
Cole: MC president, legacy MC member, bad boy, older brother to Ice God Marcus, working off his father’s debt
These two have sparks from the moment they see each other in Cole’s bar. Their chemistry is perfection! I think I didn’t more time yelling at my kindle when Isabelle made dumb decisions which is unusual, I’m usually yelling at an MMC. I’m not usually a fan of the journalist looking for a big scoop but finding a love interest song the way trope, but Mila writes it so well! Maybe I’m just too big a fan of the morally grey MMC type and I hate the thought that something might happen to them. But without giving spoilers I will say that it took a turn I didn’t see coming and the way they handled it was a relief to read.
You can absolutely read this as a standalone, though starting with the Made in Mayhem duet (Dark mafia) and the Hellions of Hade Harbor (bully hockey) books will set up the world building and introduce key characters and relationships. Whether you’re returning to Mila’s world or just starting this is an amazing book and will not disappoint!

*Dual-1st-PoV
*MC Romance
*Age Gap Romance
*Good Girl / Bad Boy
*Obsessive MMC

The characters in this book are 👌👌
Isabelle, is of the wealthy elite whose father has planned out her whole life and expects her to do as he says, yet she has other ideas! She’s pretty wilful and knows her own mind, she just wants someone to see her for her and support her dreams of being an investigative journalist. Her pursuit for a big story brings her into Coles orbit, he’s the MC President who carries the weight of the club on his shoulders and very rarely feels seen! They come from polar worlds yet share an undeniable connection that neither of them appear able to walk away from…despite her desire for a story and his belief he’s not right for her 🥰
She very much becomes his safe space and he becomes the protective papa bear ❤️
The focus is very much on their relationship development and connection, there’s little “outside” drama, but there’s still plenty of angst and tension surrounding the flow going. There’s a good balance between their emotional connection and the chemistry which when they allow it to happen is 🔥🔥
Will definitely be coming back to read the rest of this series after this starting couple 😁

I was very much ready for this next endeavor and so happy it didn't disappoint - Mila Kane once again knocks it out of the park! Two characters on the track for a future built off family expectations, only to see the potential in each other to rewrite their storyline.
Isabelle (MFC) is exactly what I look for in a leading lady; one who has a troubled past, but she's feisty enough to fight for more. And Cole (MMC), well I admired him immensely from the other books because of his strength to stand up for his little brother's future. Her optimism and his mischievousness. These two together made an unlikely yet necessary pair.
It was a quickly capturing read and I was so excited to continue into the next realm. The great thing about Mila Kane books, they intertwine characters, but she only mentions them quickly. It's almost like a nod to the previous stories, which is so refreshing, because other authors tend to drag whole chapters into explaining the web of stories and it takes me out of the plot. But Mila's referencing, along with expertly shifting the narrative to another plot twist, as well as not over-describing scenarios/inner-dialogue, makes this another engaging read that I finished the first day it was available in KU. I can't wait for the next ride!

Cole completely exceeded the hype! 🖤 Mila Kane delivered the ultimate unhinged, dangerous, and possessive MMC, and I am utterly obsessed.
What to expect:
🔥 Off-the-charts chemistry & high spice
☠️ A chaotic, dark, and violent storyline
👑 A strong heroine (Isabelle) who stands her ground
🤝 Loyalty and brotherhood (loved the Cole & Marcus dynamic!)
The dynamic between Cole and Isabelle was incredible. The obsession, possessiveness, tension, and chemistry were off the charts. Once Cole decides she belongs to him, there is no turning back, which is exactly what I wanted from his character. I also loved Isabelle; she matches his energy perfectly and never gets overshadowed by his massive personality. As for the spice? It completely met my high expectations.
I flew through this book. It was dark, violent, thrilling, and incredibly addictive. Beyond the main romance, getting to see the deep history, loyalty, and unique bond between Cole and Marcus was a major highlight. Seeing that different side of Cole added so much depth to the story. Was Cole worth the wait? Absolutely. If you love morally gray heroes who go completely feral for their girl, run to read this!

I have been waiting for Cole — Harbor Hounds, and it did not disappoint!
This book gives you everything you want in a biker romance: a possessive, overprotective, jealous, hot-as-hell bad boy biker who becomes completely obsessed with the shy, sweet girl who was never supposed to turn his world upside down.
Mila truly brought these characters to life. I was completely pulled into Isabelle and Cole’s story from the beginning.
Isabelle is a shy, quiet journalism student who has spent her life staying in line and trying to please her mother and father. She’s used to doing what’s expected of her… until she meets Cole.
Cole is the president of the Harbor Hounds MC. He lives day by day, focused on protecting his club and keeping his brothers safe. The last thing he expects is for a sweet, shy college girl to walk into his life and become the woman he never knew he was waiting for.
The chemistry, the obsession, the jealousy, the protectiveness—🔥🔥🔥
Cole may not have been looking for his destiny, but destiny definitely found him.
Mila, this one was worth the wait! 🖤🏍️
