Hot for Teacher

Rate this book
Chase Adler goes with the flow. An only child of disinterested parents and the only beta in his friend group, he’s used to not making waves. Which is fine by Chase—he’ll leave the drama to his alpha besties. But when a missed exam leads to Chase getting up close and personal with his alpha professor’s pheromones, Chase can’t help fixating on the imposing man. Then fixation leads to contact, and contact leads to Chase in Professor Burke’s bed.

So much for not making waves.

Professor Killian Burke doesn’t fraternize with students. Terrify them? Occasionally. Overpower them with his pheromones? Often. But he doesn’t cross the line, and he’s never been tempted to do so. But when a certain polite, pretty beta starts following Killian with his gaze—and then following Killian to his favorite bar—Killian’s self-control is tested for the first time. Chase Adler is beautiful and obedient and has a mouth made for filthy daydreams.

What else is Killian to do besides put him on his knees?

⭐️ 4.5/5 — An Alpha who looks like he eats barbed wire for breakfast... reduced to a full-blown, heavy-breathing SIMP?? 📉🫠 I didn’t just eat, I FEASTED. 🍽️ Watching his stoic composure crumble was my cardio. 🏃‍♀️💨

🌶 3.5/5 — We got rut delirium, an Alpha building a nest (my ovaries?! 🥚💥), and straight-up dick scenting. 🍆👃 Excuse me?! Did someone spike my water?? 😳

💭 My Rambling 💭

Okay listen… Book one gave me Noah—the ultimate green-flag, golden-retriever alpha, sunshine-wrapped-in-muscles kinda man, and I was already losing my mind. But THEN this book strolls in with Killian, the big, intimidating, “I-grade-your-exams-and-also-your-life-choices” alpha professor?? And girl… GIRL… I ate that shit up. 🍽️😋

Grae Bryan has officially entered my TOP AUTHORS WHO UNDERSTAND THE ASSIGNMENT list. Because she does NOT play around when it comes to writing alphas who are absolutely DOWN HORRENDOUS for their pairing. Like… strong, stoic, terrifying MMC who turns into a fumbling, thirsty, love-drunk disaster the moment their person walks in? I’m sorry but THAT is my Roman Empire. THAT is my emotional support trope. THAT is my religion. 🙏🤣

There is NOTHING—and I mean fucking NOTHING—more delicious than watching a big scary alpha/top get reduced to a pathetic, feral mess because their pairing breathed in their direction. I was giggling, kicking my feet, and going “Yes king crumble for him 😌👑.”

📚🤓📉 THE PROFESSOR’S DOWNFALL: A STUDY IN OBSESSION 💘❤️‍🔥💀

Quote:
Chase: “Take me home. Please, Sir.”
Burke: “This will be one time only.”

💭 BABE. PLEASE. 😒😂
Killian really opened this scene like a man who thinks he’s in control — spoiler: he is NOT.
“One time only”?? BOY, SHUT YO LYING ASS UP 😭🙄
Chase blinked in his direction and Killian’s whole internal WiFi disconnected.
This wasn’t “one time only,” this was the prequel, the pilot episode, the franchise launch, the opening ceremony 💥📺🔥😩
Sir, you’re already cooked, seasoned, and plated — sit DOWN. 🍽️🫠💘

Quote (Killian):
He was going to text Chase.
Fuck. No. No, I’m not.
He was.

💭 This right here?? This is PEAK "I hate how obsessed I am" energy 😭❤️‍🔥
My man went through the five stages of grief over sending ONE TEXT. The mental battle??? The denial??? The collapse??? 😳🙂‍↔️🙅🏻‍♀️🙂‍↕️🫠
He's out here arguing with himself like two feral raccoons in a trash can. 🦝💥🗑
Meanwhile Chase is just existing somewhere being cute. 🤭
DOWN. BAD. PROFESSOR. 😭🫠👀💘🤣

Quote (Killian):
“I’m going to get tested, and you’re going to get tested, and we’re not going to fuck anyone else until this thing between us has run its course. Say yes if you agree.”

💭 HELPPPP 😭🔥💍
This is not "casual." This is not “Let’s see how it goes.”
This is MONOGAMY CONTRACT energy 📝💦
Killian’s out here drawing up rules like Chase is an employee at his company:
❌️ No side dick
❌️ No side ass
❌️ No extracurricular activities
✅️ HR will follow up
BABY THAT’S A RELATIONSHIP 💀💞

Quote (Killian):
“I’d like to see you more often. Fridays will be ours, like we said. But would you be opposed to other nights? Or staying longer some Saturdays? Perhaps Sunday afternoons?”

💭 Translation: "I have cancelled all my future plans, cleared my entire calendar, and I am now accepting applications for BETA-SHAPED OCCUPANCY IN MY PERSONAL SPACE, 24/7. Please confirm immediately." 📢 He went from "one time" to trying to secure visitation rights like a divorced dad fighting for custody of the best thing in his life. 😭 The progression is truly chef's kiss. 🤌🏻💋✨️

🐺🍆🍑 RUT SEX: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC FOR HORNY PEOPLE. 💀💦🥵

Quote (Killian’s POV):
The first time Killian had taken Chase bare, he thought he’d been transported directly into heaven. He’d spent what felt like hours afterward fingering the boy, pushing his cum back inside and watching it trickle out, coaxing another and then another orgasm from the weeping beta. It had soothed some feral alpha piece of Killian, breeding him like that.

Quote (Chase’s POV):
Occasionally Killian seemed hungry for something else, and then he sucked Chase’s cock with feral intensity, and once he spit Chase’s cum back into Chase’s mouth, watching carefully until Chase swallowed it all. And then he smiled, both tender and wolfish, and stroked Chase’s cheek. “Pretty,” he crooned, and Chase blushed like a brand-new fucking virgin.

💭 Killian went from PROFESSOR to DEMONIC ORAL GOD in 0.2 seconds. 👨🏻‍🏫😈👅
Sir, are you okay?? Blink twice if the rut took your soul 👁👄👁
THE SPIT-IN-MOUTH SCENE???? 😳
I lost consciousness for THREE BUSINESS DAYS. 3️⃣😵
My spirit went: “Nope. I’m out. Good luck, bitch.”
Killian said ‘Pretty’ and I folded like a weak-ass lawn chair in a hurricane. 🌪️🪑⛈️🌀

🤨😤 WHO THE HELL DECIDED TO PUT THE IMPORTANT SHIT OFF-PAGE 😡💢

EXPLAIN TO ME WHY a book that’s over 250 FUCKING PAGES looked at TWO of the most pivotal moments and went:

“Hmm… let’s just… vaguely mention it… in passing.”

I LOST IT. 😡
I sat there like: 🙃
“Wait. Wait. WAIT. You’re telling me I read TWO-HUNDRED-FIFTY-PLUS PAGES and you’re gonna shove the key scenes like first bare sex and CLAIMING BITE into the off-page dumpster like they’re leftovers??” 🤬

I want answers! A full investigation!!
Because this shit made ZERO sense and I’m still pacing about it!!! 😤😡💩

💭 FINAL THOUGHTS: WHY I WAS HERE (AND WHY I’D DO IT AGAIN) 💭

Look… is this book full of other stuff?? YES.
BUT, I picked this shit up for TWO reasons only:
👉🏻 TO WATCH PROFESSOR KILLIAN BURKE FALL ON HIS KNEES FOR CHASE LIKE A COLLAPSING SKYSCRAPER. 🧎🏻‍♂️
👉🏻 RUT SEX 💀

So yeah… if you want big intimidating alpha energy turning into a lovesick idiot who’d rearrange his entire Google Calendar for one omega? 💘🗓
This is your book. 😌
THIS IS THE STUDY OF A MAN’S DOWNFALL. 🤭

Quotes: ⚠️ Spoilers ⛔️

Except Killian didn’t get angry. Annoyed, sometimes. Angry, almost never. He didn’t find most things worth the energy it required. He supposed there was some irony there, seeing as how the student review sites always commented on how frightening he was. But Killian never raised his voice, never lost his temper.
He simply had heavy pheromones and a resting asshole face.
-
He was almost surprised to find he was still hard. He’d thought maybe his nerves would kill his boner, but if anything, they just seemed to … enhance it. Was that a thing? Boner-enhancing anxiety?
-
“You’ll come again, or I’ll stuff my knot into you right now.” Chase let out another low moan, and Killian almost laughed. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? So eager to please, you’d take an alpha’s knot without any prep.”
Here Killian had told himself he wasn’t naturally chatty, and he couldn’t stop. Fucking. Talking.
-
“Oh, look at you,” Killian crooned. “Listening so well. If you manage to come before me, you’ll get another kiss.”
Killian promised it lightly, as if he weren’t dying to give Chase exactly that. Their kiss earlier had been deadly—the way Chase had melted into it, open and sweet and unbelievably perfect.
Fuck. Maybe Killian shouldn’t kiss him again after all. What he needed was to get off, to get out of this lustful, worshipful headspace he was in.
-
Killian lay down beside him and tugged Chase into his arms, sweeping his hands up and down Chase’s sides.
“D-Didn’t take you for a cuddler,” Chase muttered eventually.
Killian pinched him lightly. “I don’t shirk aftercare, sweet boy.”
Chase let out a soft, weary laugh that tugged on something strange in Killian’s chest. “How long does it last?”
All fucking night. “However long you need.”
“What if I need a long time?”
“Then that’s what you get.”
“For being—being such a good boy?” The way Chase said it, so shy, like he was trying out the words for the very first time, tugged again on that place inside Killian, deep and tender.
“Even if you were a very naughty boy, I’d still give you what you need afterward.” Killian pressed a kiss to Chase’s nose—what the fuck was that? He cleared his throat. “But yes, Chase Adler. You were a very, very good boy for me.”
-
“I’m about to do something stupid,” Killian announced
“How stupid are we talking here?”
“Potentially-blowing-up-my-life kind of stupid.”
“… Go for it.”
Killian resisted the urge to kick at his car. “Son of a bitch.”
Prince cackled brightly on the other end. “You had to have known.”
-
And then Chase was scrambling up to straddle Killian’s lap, his arms tight around Killian’s neck, his body racked with forceful sobs.
Killian wrapped his arms around Chase’s back, holding him just as tightly in return.
He’d already known there was pain in Chase Adler, something deep and raw and possibly unexamined. The few comments Chase had made over their time together pointed in the direction of his family. And weren’t familial wounds almost always the case?

“There we go,” Killian soothed, rubbing his palms up and down Chase’s trembling muscles. “Let it out, baby boy. Let it all out.”
“You have a lot of pain hiding in there, don’t you, sweet boy?”
-
Killian stroked a firm hand down Chase’s spine. “Thank you for giving it to me. Your pain.”
-
He liked feeding Chase, and he liked reading with Chase under his arm. He preferred when Chase reeked of him and nothing else.
-
Chase drew back, startled by whatever he saw in Killian’s face. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You just told me you were a child completely devoid of parental affection. How should I be looking?”
“No, no.” Chase shook his head. “You’ve got the wrong idea. It’s not that bad. Like, he doesn’t talk about it, but Spencer grew up really struggling with money, and his mother is, like, mean.” Chase’s leg was bouncing now. Killian had never seen him so jittery. “That’s hard, you know? That’s real.”
Meaning his own struggles weren’t.
Killian wasn’t equipped for this. He was used to comforting with actions, not words. But words were necessary here, and he needed to step the fuck up. “Suffering is relative, Chase,” he said, trying to keep his tone as neutral as possible. “There’s always going to be someone who has it worse. That doesn’t mean you can’t hurt.”
-
Killian was selfish with everyone but Chase; he liked Chase exactly as he was, and he had absolutely no desire to fuck another non-Chase person for as long as he lived.
-
“You did so well for me, Chase Adler,” Killian murmured, and he knew he’d hit the mark when Chase took a deep breath, almost a gasp, his pretty green eyes softening. “You were a perfect fucking beta for me, weren’t you? You took my knot over and over. I’ve never been so satisfied during a rut. Not once in my life.”
-
Maybe Killian could talk him into staying a few more days for sleep and care.
Or just never let him leave.
Fuck.
Killian had really thought that maybe after his rut, some of the possessiveness that had been building inside him would wane, but if anything, it was the opposite. Killian couldn’t crush this feeling that they’d crossed some line that made Chase his. Permanently. Irrevocably.
Killian wanted to keep this man. Needed to keep him.
-
“This is the pervert alpha professor. I’m afraid you’ve interrupted our evening together. You’ll have to call back another time. Preferably when you’ve cooled down and gotten your head out of your ass.” His gaze darted toward Chase, his steely blue eyes softening the slightest bit. “You have a wonderful son. I wish you deserved him.”
-
So Killian didn’t text Chase demanding an update. Didn’t ask, How did you sleep? Or, Are you in love with me yet?
-
Chase set his bag down in the entryway and straightened, looking to the couch. “Can we sit?”
They could do whatever the fuck Chase wanted—stand on their heads and have an upside-down tea party—as long as it meant Chase stayed the night.
-
Chase took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. “I’m sorry I didn’t text,” he said afterward. “Not just tonight. This whole week.”
“I told you to take your time.”
Chase cocked his head. His green eyes were unbearably soft. “That was hard for you, wasn’t it?”
It had been excruciating. Killian cleared his throat. “I wanted you to be sure.”
-
Chase’s fingers clenched at the soft material of his pants, then released. “It wasn’t about being sure. It was about … wanting something so badly and having to say it out loud. Having to ask for it and trust that you would—that you would care.” His cheeks had gone pink, the color traveling down his neck. “That you would care enough to give it to me.”
Killian clenched his own hands into the couch cushions, holding himself back from lunging forward. “I want to give you everything you want.”
-
“You are good,” Killian said gruffly. “You’re perfect.”
Chase shook his head with another of those soft, lovely laughs. “I’m not perfect.”
Killian would beg to fucking differ, but he didn’t push the point. “I’m not either,” he said instead. “I’m pushy. Demanding. Greedy.”
Chase grinned, a flash of white teeth that took Killian’s breath away. “Yes.”
“You don’t mind.”
“I like that about you. I think I need it. I need you to want me so badly that you make it painfully obvious.”
-
He couldn’t stop kissing Chase’s neck. Had he said kissing was enough? It wasn’t enough. Nothing was enough.
-
“You’re kind of obsessed with me, aren’t you?”
“Obsessed doesn’t begin to cover it. You have me by the balls, sweet boy.”
-
And now—a ring on his finger and a bite on his neck—Chase was Killian’s, even more than he had been before. And Killian belonged to him in turn. By bond and by marriage.
-
The most important person of all was already at Killian’s side. Loved, coveted, and protected.
Killian grinned, bright and fierce and proud, as Chase leaned into him, trusting Killian to guide them where they needed to go.
Secure in Killian’s arms.
Just as he would be for the rest of the night.
Just as he would be for the rest of their lives.

He fell first and he fell harder is such a good trope 😮‍💨

And while I did enjoy the setup here, my reading experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. Loving their first meeting (the tension was so THICCCKKK 🫦), then getting a bit bored by their dynamic and too much repetitive sex in the first half (also: Chase was just so... bland… in the beginning), to getting invested again once I got to know Chase a bit more.

I think my problem was that we see them connect sexually in every (kinky) way shape or form, but weren’t shown a lot of scenes outside of sex of them getting to know one another until quite late in the book.

On the other hand I really did love reading about the grumpy alpha only being soft and beyond infatuated with his polite, sweet, hurting beta. And then there’s scent marking GALORE, possessiveness, growling, jealousy, the sweetest protectiveness - and let‘s be real, that is what I’m here for 🫠

So yeah, despite some struggles I still really enjoyed myself, not least thanks to the friendships between the three roommates and between Killian and his two besties - those really stood out for me here 🥹

I expected to enjoy this but I liked it even more than I thought I would, in spite of having lost count of the amount of sex scenes the author managed to cram into this relatively short book. Sex and intimacy was a big part of how Chase and Killian got together and their relationship, both because of the Dom/sub dynamic and from it starting as something casual that turned into more. The spice added to the characters and the relationship development, which definitely made it easier for me to enjoy. Tons of spice just for the sake of spice is rarely something I love, so when I find a book with great sex scenes that also add something to the story, I’m a very happy camper.

On top of that, the main conflict also made sense, the characters didn't act out of character, and the ‘drama’ wasn't contrived (in my opinion, anyway). I thought it was well done and actually necessary for the story and romance.

Watching Killian go from cold and sort of muted, saying he would just sleep with Chase once (famous last words) to being unapologetically obsessed with him was a treat. Love a down bad older MC so much. This man had absolutely zero chill once he realized there was no fighting their chemistry.

Definitely recommend, especially if you're in the mood for high heat.

PS: big fan of the many forced orgasms. Much fun.

He leaned back, setting his chin on his hand. “You have a beautiful body.” Chase’s cheeks warmed, and this time he did respond. “Thank you, Alpha.” “You haven’t touched yourself.” It was a statement, not a question, but Chase still shook his head. “I didn’t think I was supposed to.” Burke hummed his approval. “How right you are. What good instincts you have, sweet boy. A natural.”

“And how quickly can you go again? On average?” “I—I don’t know.” The thumb tracing Chase’s taint like a promise stilled. “No one’s made you come more than once in one go?” “No, Alpha.” Burke let out a low rumble of a laugh. “Oh fuck, this is going to be fun. You poor, poor thing.”

Growing up, the few—very few—times Chase had acted out, he’d only ever been ignored all the more, brushed off to be sequestered with the nanny for days on end. He’d learned quickly that rebellion didn’t lead to anything good. At least if he’d behaved, his parents had sometimes remembered to shoot him some sort of acknowledgment.

“Why are you so nice to me?”
“It’s the easiest thing in the world, being nice to you.”

“What a good fucking boy you are, Chase Adler.”

This book probably isn’t objectively bad but for me it was pretty much a bust. Mostly because Chase was bland as a cardboard box and I was not even remotely interested in his doings or inner musings. It seems like he’s hiding some parental pain there but I was just too bored to stick around to find out what that was about.

What saved this story somewhat for me was Burke. Killian Burke, the stern alpha professor. And his two very entertaining best friends Prince and Devon. They were a hoot.

I thought the kind of forbidden student/teacher storyline with a bit of a D/s dynamic between the two MCs would do it for me, especially because I really was a fan of the first book in the series.

I will probably return for Spencer’s story. That alpha is a handful. That’s why he’s getting even two boyfriends. *lol

Are you looking for the best omegaverse this year? Because you've just found it!

Hot For Teacher is DELICIOUS. All the scenting. All the submission. All the forbidden professor/student relationship. I am literally never going to get over Chase and Killian!

Killian is the stoic, steely Alpha professor who everyone is afraid of - except Chase, who is ready to drop to his knees and be called a good boy whenever Killian looks at him. Killian doesn't do repeats - they have one night to get it out of their systems. But it turns out one night is not enough and pretty soon we have a professor absolutely feral for his beta.

That's right! This is an alpha x beta romance! Chase has no pheromones of his own, doesn't produce slick or have a knot. It's so rare to find an omegaverse romance with a beta in and I'm totally hooked!

You are not ready for how amazing the spice is in this book. Killian loves to overwhelm Chase with pleasure and force him through multiple Os, and Chase is right there for it. The bedroom talk is sublime, Killian has a filthy mouth on him and I adored it! But no scene is meaningless, and each time they meet up we get to see more of them as people, more emotion, and more of their relationship flourishing.

I'm not going to pretend these two always do a lot of talking - they're a bit busy and they speak mostly through being very tactile and taking care of each other in big ways and small - but watching them open up to each other, Killian breaking down Chase's walls, and falling deeper in love with each new thing they learn about each other was so sweet and their relationship made them both healthier, better people.

You can expect adorable found family, hurt/comfort galore, and two people absolutely obsessed with each other (even if Chase is afraid to admit it). Honestly this is probably my favourite omegaverse book I've ever read.

This is book two in the series but you can absolutely read it as a standalone!

I absolutely adored Hot for Teacher and I cannot wait to get it on my shelves.

I received an advanced review copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Delightful omegaverse romance.

This series is light and fun. There are some minor challenges to overcome but there's no heavy drama, no miscommunication and no third act breakup.

What to expect from this book:
-Age gap (alpha professor Killian, beta student Chase) and insta attraction, lots of sex.
-Very light D/s kink (thankfully, because I'm not a fan of D/s).
-Lots of possessiveness, scent marking, aftercare and praise (and I ate it up!).

This second installment started a bit weaker than the first, because Chase was shown as a rather bland character, without much depth. It got better, though. Slowly we got to know Chase, learned alongside Killian why Chase held so much of himself back.
Killian was perfect for Chase, reassuring him, cherishing him, loving him at a time when Chase thought this thing between them was only about sex. How the author wrote Killian's rut was awesome. Loved it. How he was lost to his instincts but still always needed to be gentle with Chase as to not overwhelm him. Killian was truly special.

This one was a lot cuter than I expected. The age gap and kink side of things I could take or leave, but the way Burke supported Chase through his shitty relationship with his parents melted my heart. I'm really enjoying this series overall and am excited to read the next one!

Noncon: no
OM/OW: no
Breakup: no, but there is a brief separation/break/time to think
Mild power imbalance (the professor isn’t teaching to the beta anymore, so no direct power imbalance)
Cold and distant parents (MC)
Secret relationship (at the beginning)

😤 LITTLE RANT (possible spoilers):

I’m kinda mad we didn’t get to see the full rut that Killian spent with Chase. Like we got the first scene and then mostly Chase telling us all the juicy things that happened. And THEN rut is OVER? I’M NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT 😭 I wanted a rut scene in Killian’s pov sooooo bad 😭

AND we didn’t get to see the claiming bite scene on page 😭😭😭😭

* Fyi about 🌶️ levels: I rate spice on a combination of quantity, quality, length, intensity and explicitness of the scenes. Kınks are listed separately and generally do not directly affect the steam level to keep it fair for non kınky books.

You know that worry you always have when you start a second book in a series?
That fear that the hype of the first one was a fluke and the second one is going to feel like a watered-down version ?
Yeah — none of that happened here.

I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It didn’t feel like a step down at all. The same addictive blend of heat + romance was there, and the characters absolutely carried the story.

🥃Killian is domineering, emotionally controlled, intimidating in that “yes sir, whatever you want sir” kind of way.
He’s always been about cold hookups and discipline and routine — and then this sweet boy walks in, looks at him with wide green eyes, and Killian’s entire life derails. Horribly. Beautifully.

From the start, he knows Chase has a crush on him. The boy stares at him in class like it’s his full-time job.
And Killian? He pretends he’s unaffected… but this alpha has zero self-control around him. Zero. None.

Chase — my sweet closed-off boy

Chase absolutely broke my heart.
He’s emotionally shut down not because he wants to be, but because his parents raised him with financial support and zero love. He grew up existing quietly in the background — unseen, unheard, unimportant.

🔥 The Bar Scene — and the First Night

When Killian sees Chase at the bar (yes, Chase is low-key stalking his professor, and honestly I respect him for it), all the rules go out the window.

Course finished? Grades done?
Technically not student–professor anymore?
Barely counts.

Chase whispers one little line —
“Take me home.”
— and Killian does. Immediately.

The night is hot, intense, and shockingly tender. Killian gives him full aftercare — holding him, scenting him, grounding him — but Chase sneaks out before morning because they agreed it was a “one-time thing.”

Killian is PISSED. Like absolutely affronted.
Sir wanted to make him breakfast!!!
I loved loved their dynamic!!!

The Not-Relationship That Absolutely Is a Relationship

Chase turning up in Killian’s office is hilarious. He doesn’t say anything, doesn’t ask for anything… just appears. And their one-time thing becomes twice and then:

- every Friday

Killian scents him like it’s his new religion.
Chase pretends it’s casual.
Killian is already halfway in love.

And the best part?
Killian knows if he simply said, “We’re dating,” “move in with me” Chase would follow. But he refuses that shortcut — because his sweet boy deserves to choose things for himself.

🫠 The Rut

Killian asking Chase to stay with him during his rut is HUGE.
It’s intimate.
It’s vulnerable.
It’s dangerous.

Chase isn’t even an omega — he doesn’t have the instincts meant for this — but he still says yes. And the scenes? Yeah. Heat. Fire. A furnace. Enough said.

Everything is going perfectly, except:
Chase’s insecurities start whispering old lies again… and he pulls away.
And the funniest twist is — you expect the beta to be shattered, but it’s the alpha who falls apart.

Killian drunk, dramatic, friends hiding his keys… 10/10 entertainment.

💔➡️💗 The Reunion

Chase comes back after a week, and that boy walks in with more emotional growth than he’s ever shown in his life.

I’m sorry I didn’t text,” he said afterward. “Not just tonight. This whole week.”

“That was hard for you, wasn’t it?”

It had been excruciating. Killian cleared his throat. “I wanted you to be sure.”

“It wasn’t about being sure,” Chase said, fingers clenching at his pants. “It was about wanting something so badly and having to say it out loud. Having to ask for it and trust that you would—that you would care. That you would care enough to give it to me.” His cheeks went pink.

Killian’s hands curled into the couch cushions. “I want to give you everything you want.”

“I know.” Chase placed a knee on the couch, then the other, straddling Killian’s lap. His hands cupped Killian’s face, calm expression burning bright. “And I do want it. I want it all. I want to be your boyfriend. I want to live here one day… I want to wake up every morning and have you make me breakfast. I want you to break me down and put me back together. I want to be clingy and needy and I want you to handle it. I want you to tell me I’m good, and I want you to mean it.”

“You are good,” Killian said gruffly. “You’re perfect.”

“I’m not perfect.”
“I’m not either. I’m pushy. Demanding. Greedy.”
“Yes,” Chase said, smiling. “I like that. I need it. I need you to want me so badly that you make it painfully obvious. I crave it. I wake up every day craving you. So let’s do the whole thing. Because that’s what I want. All of it.”

He kissed Killian, all tongue and heat and desperation. Killian grabbed his throat, his shoulders, unable to stop. When he finally broke the kiss, he burrowed into Chase’s neck, scenting him fiercely.

“I’m surprised you held off this long,” Chase murmured.
“I was trying to be considerate,” Killian muttered against his skin.

“My family—” Chase began.
“I’m your fucking family.” Killian’s voice came out loud, rough, almost a growl. He pulled back, breathing hard. “I could be. If you’ll let me.”

Chase kissed him again, sweet and sure, sucking on his tongue until neither of them could think.

That’s it. That’s the whole romance.
Chase finally realizes he’s loved — not for a role, not for being an alpha or an omega or something “special” — but for him.
Just

What I loved:

✨ Scenting scenes that could set fire to carpets
✨ Emotional payoff that actually felt earned
✨ A soft, insecure boy getting the love he always deserved
✨ A terrifyingly controlled alpha reduced to mush

It had that perfect “feels + kink + heart” balance, and the second-book hype was absolutely justified.

I loved it. Truly.
No step down. Not even a stumble.

Rating: 4.5

Love seeing the big, strong, stoic, intimidating Alpha who only does one night stands become immediately infatuated with his former Beta student once he lets himself be seduced. He was down so bad for Chase. And Chase was for Killian as well but not as overtly. These two were HOT together and this book was exactly the kind of "all smut, no plot" easy to read, good-time book I needed last night.

Loved this one! I’ve been excitedly waiting for Chase and Killian to get their story, and it was so good! I loved seeing an omegaverse with a Alpha and Beta couple, and these two were perfect together. Grae Bryan has quickly become an auto buy author for me, and I’m so excited already for the next book!

I cannot believe I am giving a somewhat rare five star rating to an omegaverse romance. Called Hot for Teacher. And yet here I am, doing exactly that.

Apparently I still have a light dusting of pretentiousness in me, because I seriously considered giving four stars purely on principle. I mean — omegaverse. Hot for Teacher. Come on.

But when a book makes me feel giddy?
When I realize halfway through that I’m lying on the couch looking at my kindle with an embarrassingly derpy smile on my face? When I already know I’m going to reread it (my ultimate five-star criteria)?

Yeah. Let them laugh. This book earned it.

There was just so much to love.
Low angst. High steam. Possessiveness off the charts.

And about that steam — it checked all my boxes and scratched all my itches. Enough said, it worked. Very well.

Killian and his alpha friends are members of a sex club, but Killian himself isn’t into hardcore BDSM. He likes D/s, appreciates a necessary spanking, but isn’t big on impact play. Sir was already speaking directly to my soul.

Then came the dirty talk. The mild humiliation kink (is that the right term? Who knows — I loved it).

I discovered my weakness for older dominant men calling their less experienced lovers “baby boy” and “sweet boy” when I read Chasing Riddick, and I honestly didn’t think I’d find that magic again.

Reader. I found it again. Jackpot. And the rutting scene was chef’s kiss.

But what really sealed this as a five-star read was the love story.

It wasn’t slow burn ; they hook up physically pretty early, but they fall in love over time in a way that was pure show, not tell. Watching Killian gently help Chase heal from years of parental neglect absolutely got to me.

And I adored Killian’s baby alpha friends; the found family vibes were perfect.

This is the first book in the series that I’ve read, and I already can’t wait to dive into the rest.

So yes, go ahead and judge my five-star rating for an omegaverse book called Hot for Teacher.

I promise you: it was very, very well-earned

This. Freaking. Book. I literally don’t know how to put into words how much I LOVED this book. I loved Killian and Chase both in equal measures, but together they made quite the pair. And all of their friends have a special place in my heart. I thought I loved the last book, but this one has totally taken the lead.

I knew I was going to love this book when this author said it had the trope of the beta falls first, but the alpha falls harder. And bro she was not wrong. Killian was absolutely OBSESSED with chase. And I was totally here for it. Chase had more of a fascination with Killian, his staring at Killian all the time in class is what lead to them hooking up. But Killian? That man would’ve licked the bottom of Chase’s shoes. I literally don’t know how this author is going to top this book.

There was so much sex and scent marking in this thing. Killian literally couldn’t stand when Chase didn’t smell like Killian’s pheromones. He was always drenching Chase in them, and I’m just kicking my feet and giggling every step of the way. Amazing.

Love love love this book. I loved how obsessive and protective Killian was of Chase. I love the supportive friends on both sides. I love the sex. I love the humor. I love the sweetness. I love the love these two have. 10/10 gold stars from me. I hope this series never ends.

I love everything that Grae Bryan writes! Do I put this at the start of every review? YES! Because it’s so true… there’s just something about her writing that draws me in and I adore it.

I’m not a huge omegaverse reader, but Grae’s foray into the genre has me absolutely hooked. This alpha x beta romance was so freaking good - older alpha professor and younger beta student, some light dom/sub dynamics, a whole lotta smut and a whole lotta heart. Plus cameos from Noah & Eli from book 1 and from Spencer, who is gonna be the star of book 3!

The vibes of this were incredibly chill - the pair of them give into their feelings fairly quickly and the only angst is in the form of Chase’s terrible parents and his trauma from that. Otherwise, the angst was low and the smut was high - plus we get so much scent marking, growling, possessiveness and an alpha rut, oh myyyy!

I am so excited for book 3 in the series!

Read Hot For Teacher for:
✨ Omegaverse, Alpha x Beta
✨ Age gap (early twenties x late thirties)
✨ Professor x student (university)
✨ Low angst, high spice
✨ Dom/Sub dynamics
✨ Alpha rut
✨ Scent marking, growling, possessiveness
✨ Learning to love yourself as you are
✨ Amazing found family of friends

Tropes: age gap, teacher/student, Alpha / beta, hurt/comfort, found family
Feels: 3/5
Steam*: 3/5
Kinks: praise, Dom/sub, forced orgasms, spanking
Angst: low-medium
HEA: HEA
Pairing: MM
Triggers/potential icks/content warnings/representation: neglectful parents
Cheating between MCs: No
Any cheating: No
Other person drama: Killian had a pretty active sex life before getting with Chase, and he seemed like a bit of a selfish ass at first but then he fell really hard for Chase. Once Chase hits on Killian and they start their thing, neither of them are interested in anyone else.

4 stars

Killian is almost 40, an alpha, and he is a college professor. Chase is 21 or 22, he's a beta, and he's a college student. He just finished a class with Killian, and he's been crushing on him. Chase shows up at a bar Killian frequents and propositions him. Killian is intrigued by Chase's submissiveness, because he's a Dom, so he agrees but says it will just be one night. But after one night, Killian wants another night to squeeze in the things that he missed, and then he wants another night. Quickly, he wants to marry Chase and lock him down. But they don't really talk about their feelings until the third act, particularly because Chase is a flight risk because he grew up with neglectful parents and doesn't know how to open himself up in a relationship. They have a secret relationship for a while, and then slowly try to transition into boyfriends more publicly.

This was a good book. The dynamic between Chase and Killian was really enjoyable. Killian folded so hard for Chase, Chase just had to look at him without saying any words and Killian was breaking his own rules trying to get more of Chase. I loved that even when their relationship was supposed to be just about sex, there was always feelings creeping in, they were making excuses to platonically touch and spend more time together to get their fixes. Killian took good care of Chase. He knew what he needed and tried to be kind and sensitive about giving it to him.

I liked their friend groups. It was nice that they had support, even when their friends were giving them s*** lol. The book was a good mix of smut, feelings, and humour.

Some notable moments:

I love how Killian folded without Chase even having to say a word. "“Are you looking for a repeat? After I explicitly told you once would have to be enough?” Chase’s brow furrowed, but he didn’t respond. Somehow he didn’t even seem stubborn about it, just … calm. Infuriatingly calm. Spiced tea. Ocean air. Unacceptable. Killian grabbed a pen from his desk. Placed it back. Grabbed another. “You will wait for my text tonight. You may drive yourself to my home, but you will not be leaving until the morning, when I can be assured that you’re returning home in an appropriate state.”"

"“I’ll just tell him it’s over.” Killian blanched. “Excuse me?” “My dad. I mean, they’re never around, and it’s not like we’re out in public very often.” Chase shrugged. “Seeing Mr. Hansen was a fluke. If it really pisses him off that much, I’ll tell him I ended it and that will be that. They’ll forget.” “No.” Killian’s refusal sounded calm enough, but there was a finality to it that even Chase, in his slightly numb state, could hear."

"Chase smelled like baby alphas, not even an ounce of Killian’s pheromones to be found, but for once Killian didn’t mind, because he was here. On Killian’s doorstep. Chase’s expression was smooth and placid, without a hint of what he might be thinking underneath. “Sorry I didn’t text first.” “Come in.” Killian tried to make it sound like a request, but it came out like a desperate, barking command instead. Chase’s lips quirked up at the corners the slightest bit, and then he stepped inside. Killian made room and then closed the door, locking it behind them. He was doing his best not to give off the feral energy of an alpha about to kidnap his beta and force him to stay forever. He was no doubt unsuccessful."

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

“I’m pushy. Demanding. Greedy.”
“Yes.”
“You don’t mind.”
“I like that about you. I think I need it. I need you to want me so badly that you make it painfully obvious.”

Mini-blurb: Chase, a beta student has been a little obsessed with Killian, an alpha teacher at his university for a couple of years. Despite trying to stay away from each other, they cannot resist the pull bringing them together.

This book is like if Grae Bryan did a scan of my brain to analyze everything I want to read about in a sex scene and then gave it to me, one by one, until she fulfilled the entire list. This was just THE perfect book for me and I don’t know how else to describe it.

The entire premise of this book revolves around the age old question: what would you do if you meet the perfect person for you but you cannot be with them because of life circumstances? And then answers it by making the characters be absolutely obsessed with each other and unable to stay away from each other even if they know they should. And that was just so good to read about and I could not get enough of it. There was so much jealousy and possessiveness laced into this book and I adored all of it.

I just adored the dynamic between these two. Killian was the older cold and controlling alpha and Chase was the younger and eager beta that just wanted to belong to someone and loved having a steady presence in his life that wanted to be present in every aspects of his life. I just thought they matched so well and it was so fun to read all of their interactions.

Also, I got so invested in these guys I kept crying any time anything happened to make them the littlest bit upset, and that just made my reading experience so much better.

Re-read #2 on 1/5/26 - just needed some omegaverse D/s smut

4.5 stars

I liked the first book in this series. It was solid. THIS one though, this one I fucking loved. The tropes just work so much better for me here. Plus, I'm not super into the student/teacher thing and that element was way less of an issue in this one.

I loved both MCs and their D/s dynamic was really hot. Lots of my favs were involved: kneeling, spanking, forced orgasms/orgasm control/oversensitivity, sub space, aftercare, etc. And even without an omega, there were still lots of omegaverse elements I loved: scentmarking, rut, knotting, and even pheromones - Killian's are quite strong (lots of people are put off by them) but Chase finds them soothing and since he doesn't have his own (as a beta) Killian is able to scentmark the shit out of him so that he smells only of him.

Most of this is smut but the little plot we got was good enough for me! I thought they were actually pretty cute as a couple and fit together really well. Loved that Chase was mature and solid and really, really just needed to be praised and cared for and it fit Killian's nature to want to provide and care for him while also owning him a bit (which Chase didn't mind). I am always a fan of a broody/intimidating alpha man going possessive and feral for a sweet boy. I love when a Mr. One Night Only becomes a Mr. Why Do Other People Even Exist?

This was hot and sweet and I'd totally re-read on a day when I just want to enjoy myself a little low angst D/s with a good boy and an Alpha.

Pet names: sweet boy, good boy, baby, sir, Alpha

“I enjoy when my partners submit to me. I think you’d be very good at that, Chase Adler.”

It had to be one night only—goddamn had to—because Killian had a feeling that if he fucked Chase Adler more than once, he was never going to get him out from under his skin.

“Would you like a taste, sweet boy?” Chase nodded without thought. He wanted it. Maybe needed it. He’d never been particularly cock-hungry before, but now he was pretty sure he’d die if he didn’t get Burke’s cock in his mouth in the next thirty seconds.

“Because as inscrutable as you are out in the world, in here, with my hands on you, you’re an open fucking book. I don’t need your pheromones, Chase Adler. This pretty face and this responsive fucking body of yours tell me everything I need to know.”

He didn’t want Chase convincing himself this was only a matter of sex. Maybe it had started that way, but it sure as fuck wasn’t ending that way. It was ending with a ring on Chase’s finger, if Killian had anything to say about it.

“How do you do it, Spence? Put your feelings out there over and over?” It wasn’t like Spencer was proclaiming his love to random hookups over and over, but he was still … open. With his friends. With almost anyone. He never hid how he was feeling, good or bad, even when people wanted him to. Spencer shrugged. “Dunno. Only way I know how to be.” “Doesn’t it hurt?” “Oh yeah.” Spencer nodded. “But feelings get hurt either way, don’t they? Whether you bottle them up or not.”

I loved this just as much as the first one.

I loved Chase; he just seems so adorably soft-spoken and kind. I love that he took back his control from his parents, and the way Killian shot them down in the epilogue was brilliant.

Killian wanted to be this tough, intimidating guy, but in the end, he melted like butter whenever Chase was around, which was so lush! Chase deserves to be worshipped.

Honestly, really enjoyable; nothing too hard to read because we know Killian isn’t going to stand around and watch Chase get hurt, so the parents don’t get much chance. The storyline is simple but very engaging and I couldn’t put it down to be honest.

I love Spencer so I’m really excited to get his story next and I’m intrigued about Professor Thomas and the mystery alpha.

Really good!

New to me author, contemporary omegaverse. Beta college student falling in lust with his alpha professor, who falls first and harder, and it's a lot more adorable than one would think from the blurb. It's a lot of fun to see the alpha older dominant go all biological imperative protective for the contained calm beta. Really good emotional communication also, and the pair just had fantastic chemistry, sex and emotional. I loved the roommates also, and it was one of those times, I finished this book and went at once to get the rest of the series (which sadly, so far, is just the previous book).

3.5 ish

After reading and absolutely loving the first book in the series I was super excited to read this one. But sadly i didn’t love it like I thought I would. It might be because I was comparing it to how much I loved the first one.

I knew from about the second or third chapter that this book wouldn’t particularly be for me. Once it was mentioned that Killian frequented a kink club I quickly lost interest. And then for him to say “he hasn’t been in a while because he’s already had all the omegas there,” yeah well that solidified it for me. And this is just my personal preference. I’ve read enough books with kink clubs to know it’s just not my jam. My problem with it is that what Killian and Chase do sexually doesn’t seem special. The scenes they do are the same scenes Killian has done with so many other omegas even though they never do anything at the club and only in Killians home I couldn’t help but thinking about how Killian does this all the time. He even makes Chase call him what ALL the other omegas call him after Chase tries to call him something else. Again, it didn’t feel special to me.

This book was about 80% sex scenes and 20% other stuff. We see all of the sex scenes but are only told of the scenes where they get to know each other. I feel like this should have been more of a balance.

Killians character grew on me. I wasn’t the biggest fan at first but he ended up being super obsessed with Chase and I loved that for them. Chases character on the other hand is hard to pin point. I did like him because he’s just so damn sweet. But his character was very meh to me. He had no personality, I felt like he was just so very passive about every single thing that went on. I wanted to see some character development from him but we only got a lack luster scene of him tell his mom off, rightfully, but it was toward the end and he just didn’t grow as a character in my opinion.

I’m super confused as to why Killian would introduce himself to Chases dad’s friend as “professor Killian Burke.” These two are hiding their relationship and when they run into someone looking all lovey dovey Killian decides to introduce himself this way. Instead of Chases bf or idk how about just Killian. I get this was the catalyst to Chases parents finding out his dating a professor but it was done in such an obvious way.

Wasn’t a fan of the forced third act conflict. It’s a weak separation that shouldn’t have even happened. It was thrown in there for the sake of being thrown in there. It wasn’t needed and it didn’t make any sense. Killian basically tells Chase he wants him forever and Chase is all like um I need some space. Like hello? Isn’t this what Chase has wanted all along? And he’s finally getting it but decides to run away instead and not speak for a week. The angst for the sake of angst was unnecessary.

Also if I have to read that Killian smells like leather and cherry ONE MORE DAMN TIME!!!! Like we get it, he smells like leather and cherry. I don’t need to hear about this 27 damn times!!! (Yes I looked up how many times) Once or twice would have sufficed.

While I loved Spencer so much and would love to read his book, he’s the biggest manwhore and his is a MMM so I fear this is where I say goodbye to this series. I am interested in the little tidbit about the omega professor and the inked up alpha but we will see.

SAFETY:

No cheating. No op drama. One week separation but not broken up. Age gap (we don’t know exact ages but would say 21/39. Around there) Dom/sub relationship. HEA (married)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I dove directly from the first book in the series into this one and I still want more! Very hurt-comforty. What was supposed to never happened, turned into just a one night thing, turned into an obsession. Killian and Chase have both kept others as arms length. Killian is a grumbly, intimidating alpha. Chase is a reserved, dutiful beta. We get to watch all their walls crumble as they turn a one night stand into an all out, unapologetic romance.

✨✨ vibes✨✨
Hurt comfort🥰
Older alpha/younger beta
Professor/student
Dom/sub
Praise - lots of “good boy” and “sweet boy”🥺🥺
Found family
Forced orgasms 🫣🫣
Rutting/scent marking/growly growly

This was just a perfect read for me. I said it before - but thank goodness Grae decided to publish her omegaverse books because they are just a perfect hit for me and everything I could ask for in a contemporary omegaverse book. Both of these books I would highly, highly recommend for mm omegaverse reads.

I really love that there is no harsh, oppressive society that sometimes comes along with omegas and the setting, and that's something I think is much needed right now. There isn't toxic masculinity or alpha-holes as I have seen other series call it lol.

And in this one - Chase! I just want to wrap him up in a blanket and give the guy a hug. What a sweet man, and totally undeserving of the parents he had. I also love that he is a beta - something we don't see enough of in mm omegaverse either!

There are some of my favorite tropes of all in this book - age gap, grumpy/sunshine, found family (I adore the baby alphas group lol and OMG Spencer! I cannot wait for his book!), and it's sweet and steamy, has all the things I love (scent-marking, ruts, heats in the first book) and the dynamics between Chase and Killian are just perfect. I adore this couple so much.

Definitely recommend reading the first one too, since they do appear several times in this book and it's such a strong friend group between the 3 MCs. I can't wait for the next one!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Automatically started this after book 1 and this one definitely didn't disappoint at all.

I love how fast paced these books are but also don't feel like your missing out on anything. Chase was just so freaking cute, and I love the Dom/sub/Aplha/beta dynamic they had as well.

Can't wait to read wait from this author!
