This Is Not About Love is not your typical romance. This is the story of three vastly different women who seem to have only one obvious connection: Michael Sinclair. First, there is Violet Cromwell, a soft-spoken librarian, who is Michael's childhood sweetheart. Then there is Penelope Pinkerton, Michael's fiancé and sometimes dream girl. Last but not least, is Lexi, the wi ...more

First there’s Penelope, the materialistic snob—the perfectionist. Then there’s Violet, the soft-spoken librarian who tends to be a little naïve at best. And Lexi, the explosive wild-child with addictive tendencies. Now, what do these three women have in common?

Two words. Michael. Sinclair.

All three women have their sights—and hearts—set on Michael. They each share some kind of connection with him, which is why not one of them is willing to back down.

If there has ever been a book that has fully justified its title, then it is this one.

Why, you ask?

It’s because this book isn't one of your everyday reads where the entire story revolves around the thirst for love. The kind of love that a man and a woman desire from each other. No, this book on the other hand is a curious little bundle of surprises. All you need to do is imagine a lengthy line of domino chips just waiting to be tipped over, where a surprise gets unveiled upon the collapse of e

First of all, as the name of the book says, this is not your regular love story, and I absolutely loved it!!! This is a story told from the point of view of three different women and what they all have in common is the man, Michael Sinclair, whom they all loved at some point in their life: Violet, a successful writer, had the biggest teenage crush on him, Penelope, whose husband died several years ago, opened her heart for the second time for Michael and accepted his proposal thinking that he’d ...more

Interesting theme - the power of friendship and support shared between woman when the element of competition is removed. In this story the woman compete for the love of one man but the message can be related to numerous other situations including career progression. While clearly pro-women it is not an anti-man book. It is more of a mature broader look at women and the different types of love felt towards friends and children that make up a whole person and the importance of acceptance and self- ...more

I thought this was a Great & Sweet Story. It's different then I thought it would be, but I did love the ending. I don't want to give anything away. I'll just say there is 3 women and 1 man and in the end I was very surprised by who got their HEA. I was given an ARC of this story to read. I was not compensated in any way for this review. ...more

An interesting story about realistic characters. These three women are not your typical romance characters. I knew there would be realism within the plot from when the character, Violet, over imbibes in alcohol and declarers her love for a man. He seemed quite happy with the situation and does not do the so called 'decent thing' of not perusing a relationship while a woman is intoxicated, and thank goodness for that as that would be how those unrealistic romances are written.

I'm not usually a romance fan, but like the title says, this book is not about love. Three different women, all with different lifestyles have one thing in common. Michael Sinclair. Now normally, I'd expect a novel about an ex-wife, a fiance, and a mistress to be full of cat-fighting, plotting, and manipulation, but this book is definitely an exception to that. Lynch's conclusion is one of the most optimistic and positive views of women I have seen in a long time, but it doesn't feel trite or cl ...more

Fun read!

Ms. Lynch has taken the old standard of the love triangle and given it a new twist. All of the females vying for the love and attention of one man are so likable that you aren't sure for whom to be rooting. Michael is the typical snake in the grass, but at times, the reader almost feels sorry for the corner he has painted himself into, almost. This is a first time novel that is fun to read and makes one look forward to seeing what new author, Carissa Lunch will come up with next. I'm ho

An emotionally investing story of three women who lives are entangled with one man. Smooth flow and strong character development that left me loving, disliking even hating each at times. It’s a story of the very human decisions we make - good, bad, right, wrong, stupid, regretful, forgiving, and empowering. It’s very much “about love” of the self over finding someone to do it for us. Great girlfriend and daughter story to share. Tissues required.

This is the second of Carissa Lynch's books I've read and once again loved it! I thought this book was all about love and the crazy and irrational things that love makes you do. It has a good mix of characters, each with stories of their own and the author does a great job of bringing it all together. Not the ending I would have hoped for, but an excellent read anyway.

This was a hard story to read at first. A woman cheating on her husband, however absent he was , and a man cheating on his fiance. The deeper the story got, the more intrigued I became. Fabulous read!

This is not about love is one of the most apt titles in the history of books. Rather than the traditional love story, Author Lynch takes us on a very different journey, concentrating predominantly on three characters—Penelope, Violet and Lexi, who all have one thing in common: Michael Sinclair.
With two of the three actively involved with Sinclair, unbeknown to one another, and the other a former partner, we soon learn that he is something of a philanderer, and we get a sense of what will happe

This Is Not About Love by Carissa Ann Lynch

Ok, so all the other reviews are correct: this book is perfectly titled. Because this is not about love, not romantic love, anyway. Sure, we get our HEA, but not as expected. These three women, who all share a connection to Michael, learned to love each other, themselves, their children, and in Violet's case, their destiny. This one was fun to read, once you get over the whole cheating thing, and worth it if you keep going. The ending was wonderful.

What a great book. This is not what I'm used to reading by this author but I should of known she can write a great book in any genre. This book is about 3 women and 1 man. Your probably thinking cat fights and which one gets him. Nooooooo it is not about that at all. This book covers a lot happiness, love, trust, pain, self doubt, faith and growth. To me it's about women finding them selves.. I would recommend this book to anyone as a must read. It was a great well written book.

This is not the normal book by this author that we have all come to love. It was the first book by this author that is getting republished.

The story of Michael Sinclair and his women Penelope, Lexi, and Violet is witty and entertaining.

You can relate to everyone on different levels and it was hard to put down.

The title says it all! This is no romance story but better. All three women don't have anything in common but for one thing. That's a man named Michael. The way this story develops is incredible. Things happen that wasn't expected. I was crying by the end of it but I loved it all! This was my first book that I've read by Carissa and I hope it won't be my last!

I enjoyed this story because it is not just about love but so much more like family, friendship and finding yourself. When I flipped to the last page, I was left with an "aww" feeling. Author Lynch is and will continue to be one of my favorite "one-click" authors.

Besides my family, my greatest love in life is books. Reading them, writing them, holding them, smelling them…well, you get the idea. I’ve always loved to read, and some of my earliest childhood memories are me, tucked away in my room, lost in a good book. I received a five dollar allowance each week, and I always — always — spent it on books. My love affair with writing started early, but it most ...more
