Sir Matt Busby is a legend in football, an institution at Old Trafford, and, as the author argues, the ‘last great football man’. Written just two years before Busby’s death, Eamon Dunphy’s bestselling portrait of the great man was acclaimed as the best book of the year in its fi rst edition, and is now available with a new introduction.
Eamon Martin Dunphy is an Irish media personality, broadcaster, author, sports pundit and former professional footballer. Since retiring from the sport, he has become recognisable to Irish television audiences as a football analyst during coverage of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and international football on Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ).
Superb book that I sort of forgot about however it was mentioned during the Moyes time at Manchester United. Just really worth reading if you enjoy football.
A well researched and almost poetic telling of an era of football before my time. Though obviously flawed, I have come to appreciate Matt Busby for the football pioneer and leader he clearly was.
