Spell's Angels #15

Crone of Thorns

Rate this book
Scout Randall is ready for the return of one enemy. What she gets is two for the price of one.
Bonnie Jenkins returns in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night, and in the middle of a very weird pack of dogs. They’re not wolf shifters, but they’re determined to keep Bonnie separate from Scout.
Bonnie’s escape weighs heavily on Scout, but the dogs are a problem, especially when the truth about the arrival becomes clear.
The kishi don’t belong in Michigan. They’re from another world.
Their motivations are hidden.
Their allegiances are unknown.
Their goal is the only thing that is clear.
They want Scout’s magic. They’ll settle for Bonnie’s magic, too. With that will come total domination.
Scout has zero intention of letting them win. She’s outnumbered but not outgunned thanks to her merry band of misfits.
It’s all hands on deck for another crazy Hawthorne Hollow adventure. What happens when three enemies collide? Who will come out alive?

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

As an avid reader of Amanda M Lee’s books, it hurts my heart to give this one a measly 2⭐️ because the plot itself was 😘 chefs kiss! The last third of the book was 5⭐️ all the way. The first half of the book could have been completely erased and done the entire book a solid.

I don’t understand how Amanda’s previous book was so spectacular and then this one was all the way over the top with the never ending bitching, whining, complaining and over the top stupidity. Yes, we all know Scout’s issues with her parents. The horse is dead, been dead, please for the love of gods, stop beating the f-ing thing! Get over it! Move on!

Scout has become a cliche of narcissistic martyrdom. The way she harps on the other characters is pathetic and gross. I hate it when Amanda takes a strong female character and makes her into a fool.

Such an extreme amount of potential tossed in the toilet and flushed.

Excellent as always

Scout and her crew are wonderful people. Poet kade and their group showing up just make the book that much better. Amanda M Lee is an amazing writer and storyteller. I love this series and hope it never ends. Someday there will be kids and hopefully the parents will keep on fighting evil as the kids learn how. Great story Amanda great series. This is a great series for everyone to read.

Closer to the final battle

Scout and the gang have one of the worst crime scenes yet. As they try to figure out what happened, Cennerous makes an appearance and Bonnie returns. Another great story!

Always fun when Scout and Poet get together. Definitely a couple of twists and turns. Can’t wait for the next story

I enjoy the series BUT

I'm so tired that every book has a stupid scene with Marrisa covered in guts and nothing else, either she needs to change or drop her character. She only adds annoyance.

Scout still one of my all time fav characters. Along with shifter fiancé Gunner, his dad sheriff and her one day father in law and the magical and hilarious Winchesters that hinder, ummmm, help out along with Rooster and Spell’s Angels crew, no one writes cozy mystery and snark as whippingly wittily.

Scout is ready for the battle with Bonnie, once a friend and now the magic stealing apex lamia wannabe (Bonnie can’t handle her stolen powers so she is a train wreccccck), and now some new players attempting a power grab and some locals are dead and it’s badddd. So bad, and Scout and Gunner and Spell’s Angels have to clean up the mess and take down the villain - but no one else makes it as fun a read.

Scout’s snarky hilarious pouty personality shines as well along with her friends on the assembled team, plus some crossover pals from another series, which is always soooooo fun and another bestie series pop it with a high energy finish so it’s an absolutely worthwhile read

The end is in sight

I am torn between impatience over the seemingly interminable build-up to this final battle, and being fairly certain that once it happens and 'happily ever after' starts the series will end. I am consoled that Lee will include guest appearances in spin off books, but dislike the premise that readers won't support a book where a, the protagonists are married, and b, the heroine isn't constantly getting power upgrades until she is one of the forces of the universe. I'm also sick of final epic battles. Oh, well.
I was pleased to see Winnie getting more respect, an Marissa seeming to grow up a bit.

Another good one!

As with all of Amanda's books, this one was edge of your seat good! We all know, "The BIG One" is coming, we just don't know when. With this teaser, it sounds like sooner rather than later. The key people are getting into place but with two gods on the scene, will they place a blocker into the mix? I'm with Scott on thinking they are up to something. I only hope it is for good rather than bad. If you haven't read any of Amanda's works, do yourself a favor and start them.

A Step Forward

I read all in the related series & they are all excellent reads. I wish they was more lesbian representation which would not seem out of place esp with so many powerful women. What I liked about thus story is that Gunner and Graham showed some of their power. When you align yourself with a mate they should make you stronger. All our heroines have a supposedly powerful significant other but they almost never flex; not Kade, Aric, Landon, etc. If attached to our girls use them as more than whinny emotional support.

Thorny

There is nothing wrong exactly, but... This book does not really fit in the overall timeline if you read the previous Winchester book And people who have will know why. It's not really a deal breaker though just irritating. And all the pouting Scout is doing lately is getting old. Where is the Scout that complains about what the enemy is wearing to a fight? Bring her back, I miss her. Just get Bonnie dead and move on to new adventures.

Great Book!

Scout has always worked to be the strongest she could be. When in doubt throw some attitude and keep moving. When a mass murder happens in town, no one knows who it could be. To make it worse the townspeople are scared and ready to start carrying guns everywhere.
When Bonnie arrives, the weight of the prophecy falls hard on Scout but a new enemy is present too.

Is this the big end? Is it time call in her team to beat the Lamia apex and fulfill her destiny?

Fabulous Read

This book was so engaging I would of read it all in one setting but I needed to sleep. I recommend you either start reading this prior to bedtime or go without sleep. This was a page turner with friends from three other series dropping in to work with the main characters in this book. I loved this book and can't wait until the next one.

I Love the Snark

I read all of Ms. Lee's books. As stated, I love her characters snark. I like the HEA and the paranormal, but I think the quick wit and the attitude are what keep me coming back. I hope these help everyone else in the times we are living through to smile at least once a day! Please keep them coming!

Changes

Who knew hyena shifters existed? Not me and they could change the out come of Scout and Bonnies big battle. I was a little sad they didn't bring in Stormy for this throw down. Are we gonna go to the carnival at the school? I guess we will find out in the next book. On to the next adventure!💙💚😉

Battle of the Hyena's

Awesome fast paced read with lots of snarky fun. Hyena's are taking over in Hawthorne and innocent people are dying, Scout and friends have to sort out the mystery before the battle of prophecy happens.

There are so many words to describe how much I love Scout and her series. It’s even better when the Winchesters and Poets group are involved. I can’t wait for the next one.

Well, you did another wonderful job of writing this book. I love when you do crossover books. I was so happy that I got to read about Gunner and Scout. Getting to read about Cade and Poet and the rest of the team Nellie.

Fun story

You can feel the suspense building, the big battle is coming soon! The plot lines were a small diversion from the main thread. The characters are great, familiar and interesting.
