New Adult contemporary romance set in the heart of country music. . .Nashville.
In Lila Bellamy, country music star Thomas Franklin has found the love of his life. He never imagined that he could have the kind of relationship his two best friends and co-stars, CeCe and Holden, have. But he does. And he intends to be deserving of it, to do whatever it takes to hold onto Lila and their daughter Lexie.
A delayed honeymoon to Anguilla is a slice of heaven on earth for Thomas and Lila. White sand, the beautiful blue green sea and time to plan their future, Lila’s hopeful career as a singer-songwriter and Thomas’s career with Barefoot Outlook, independent of their former label.
He has never felt more in control of his life and happiness. When Lila shares her fear that what they have is almost too good to be true, Thomas reassures her that they’ve both waited a long time to be together and that she will never have to worry about losing him. But neither of them have any way of knowing that isn’t the hand fate has planned for them at all. Will Lila be right? Is it too much to hope that they might have a long life of love ahead of them? Is it really all just too good to be true?
Virginia author Inglath Cooper fell in love with reading as a little girl, devouring most of the books in her elementary school library. At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I didn’t have to turn the last page.”
“Romance fiction has always appealed to me because it deals with so many of the relationships in a woman’s life. Not only the love of her life, but often her relationship with her mother, sister or best friend. Romance authors have so much room to explore many of the meaningful moments and transitions in women’s lives. And who doesn’t love a good love story?”
Inglath most often writes stories about love and life that are set in small Virginia towns like the one where she grew up. “I like to think the flavor of my hometown shows up in my books both in their setting and through the characters who people it.”
When aspiring writers ask her how to be an author, she says, “Everything I know about writing books I learned from reading books.”
Inglath has been chosen as a RITA® Award winner for best long contemporary romance novel given out each year by Romance Writers of America. Her books are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, itunes.com, and Kobobooks.com.
Outside of writing, Inglath is actively involved in dog rescue, working with The Franklin County Humane Society to place dogs and cats in need of rehoming. She volunteers her time in every capacity possible: serving on the Board of Directors, fundraising, photographing dogs and cats available for adoption and serving as a foster home. “Helping an abused or neglected dog go on to have a wonderful life with a family who loves them is more rewarding than I can possibly say.”
Commit: Nashville Book 7 is by Ingath Cooper. Lila and Thomas are finally married. Lexie is in good health and loves her new school and her new Aunt CeCe and Uncle Holden. Brownie has settled into being their loving dog and loves playing with Hank Junior and Patsy when they visit. Things have settled down and they are in between gigs so Thomas decides it is time to take Lila on a honeymoon. Although she is anxious about leaving Lexie for ten days, she accepts Thomas’s invitation. They set out for Anguilla and the white sand beaches. The resort is a five-star resort and Lila is overwhelmed but with Thomas’s help manages to adapt. The resort lives up to any expectation she might have had. The only problem was one insistent fan who felt rebuffed when Thomas only wanted to spend time with Lila. While they were on a hike around a small deserted island, a storm came up. The group they were with packed up and left. The next morning, the boat came back with another load of tourists. No one had missed the two of them because the fan had done the counting for the captain and deliberately told him all were there. Although they had no intention of suing the resort, they were given several additional amenities which they thought were interesting. It just made Thomas realize keeping the fans happy was part of his new existence. Once back home, they have to settle in to a new life with Lexie at the center.
The major themes in this book are love, forgiveness, redemption and salvation. I understand that my last review of this author’s book in this series left little to the imagination, and so I’m erring to the side of discretion by revealing far less in this one. Still loving the main characters and their relationships, and the way they’re all there for each other in times of need. Some drama in this one, but no violence. The dramatic tension in this one was centered on serious health issues. I’ll leave it at that. I enjoyed this book very much.
Part Seven of the Nashville series - Commit. I feel my commitment to this book starting to wane at this point. I've been doing more skimming and less reading. I'm ready for this to end and yet I want to finish the series.
I have loved every book in this series. Ms. Cooper knows how to create likeable, believable characters. I'm so invested in their lives now that I cried as I read the entire last third of this book. I'm just happy to know that there is a book 8.
So very touching, and inspiring, love is the most amazing thing we have and we should learn to show it to everyone, this series is very touching and I enjoyed all so far,I recommend to readers ,enjoy.
This installment had me nervous and brought tears to my eyes more than a couple of times. I feel like it all ended the way it needed to for them. Love these characters!
I’m so hooked on this series of books I can’t wait to find time to read them. I dread finishing them. Love the Lila character. I recommend this book to all who love true romance. They are real and portray emotions, ups and downs in a wonderful way. Thank you to Inglath Cooper for becoming one of my favorite authors.
OMG! This book was gut wrenching and heart breaking, I read the last 40% of this book with tears streaming down my face. I read this book in one sitting and never put it down. Thomas and Lila are married and go on their honeymoon, he goes on tour when they get back. While he goes on tour Lila ends up in the hospital and it isn't good news. I don't want to do spoilers but this book will have you crying like a baby, Inglath rips out your heart with this book and all the emotions you feel. I especially loved the story of the patchwork quilt of memories and how special the little things are like seeing your child walk, watch her throw a frisbee for her dog, etc. You will not put this book down.
Thomas and Lila's story continues. He takes her on a romantic honeymoon and are enjoying their married life together. Lila starts to feel sick, dizzy out of breathe. When Thomas is out on the road she passes out and needs to be hospitalized, they find out that her heart is failing. Just when things are going great their world comes crashing down. They need a miracle for a heart transplant. But time is running out or Lila, will an unlikely hero save her? Glad it ended on a happy note, kind of predicated that was going to happen. Again, I do really like these characters, but Im not feeling the butterflies for one another. Maybe I'm partial to Holden and CeCe, not sure. I like this series, just found out another book is out. I hope the series wraps up soon.
Lila and Thomas are married and have an amazing relationship. One that Thomas had always wished and hoped for but not everyone lives happily ever after. Lila hasn't Vern herself lately and falls ill while Thomas is on the road and decides not to tell him but this isn't something that she can hide forever.
While I'm really tired of the separate parts of this series, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is truly amazing. This book especially really had me roped in. My heart broke for Lila and Thomas and what they went through and what an amazing ending. It wasn't one that I saw coming.
Wow that was I don't even know. Right as it about half way I just knew it was going to go the way it did and I'm so glad it did. I didn't even know this author and series and just came a crossed it. I'm glad I did and love how I can read all the parts back to back without waiting. I see there is a part 8 I'm hoping its out now so I don't have to wait. Going to check it right now!! Wow
I'm such a sap for this series, I love Thomas and Lila's story and that we still get to hear about CeCe and Holden and the band- Barefoot Outlook. Thomas and Lila have the good and the bad with getting married and their honeymoon. Romantic, tear-jerker can't wait for book 8.
Holy cow the tears kept coming no matter how the story ended I couldn't stop crying. If you are reading this series this is a must read inglath Cooper knocked another one out of the park! Can't wait to see what's next
Inglath Cooper has given readers another emotion-filled installment of her Nashville series ~ one that I was unable to put down until I read the last word. And now . . . I'm ready for the next.
