She's playing hard to get…to win the MMA fighter of her ultimate fantasies in a sultry new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster

Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she's not above playing a little dirty. She's wanted Stack "The Wolf" Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously well—until Stack's past steps out of the shadows.

Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with sexy, forthright Vanity, he's the one always left wanting more. Then his troublemaking family comes back into the picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity included. Suddenly he realizes they're much more than friends with benefits. He's ready to go to the mat for her…but will it be in time to protect the woman who's tamed him for good?

For weeks now she’d been tormenting him, kissing him when he least expected it, while also encouraging him to continue his bachelor ways. She’d deliberately confused him with her insistence that he see other women, that it should be “business as usual” for both of them.-Vanity

Okay so this one is going to be a quickie because I have been waiting to get to Armie's story and I don't wanna waste hours writing a review when I could be reading about Armie and Rissy. Okay so I liked this book a little more than Cannon and Yvette's book, but not as much as Denver and Cherry's book. I didn't care for the start of their relationship (Vanity asked Stack to Cannon and Yvette's wedding which was months away and told him that they would sleep together after their wedding date, but til then she told him he could date and have sex with whoever), so I was glad when Stack told Vanity that he hadn't been with anyone since making their date plans because he wanted her. It helped me accept their relationship a little more.

“Me wanting you. So much so that, since we struck our deal, I haven’t looked at other women, much less slept with them.” Finally she turned those big vivid-blue eyes on him. Surprise replaced every other emotion. “You’ve been celibate?” She said that with a lot of skepticism. “If it sounds unbelievable from your view, you should try it from mine. I can tell you, it sucks.” He brushed his thumb over her knuckles, then released her hand to park the car beneath a security lamp. “Celibate,” she breathed. “Wow.”-Stack and Vanity

Vanity I liked although at time I felt she was a little too perfect. Stack was just okay for me. At times I thought he was a jerk. He wanted Vanity but would hold her at arm's length. He was afraid of commitment but there was never really a reason I could see for why he was so scared to commit. It didn't make sense and it annoyed me. There were times while reading this book I would ask myself why in the hell Vanity even wasted her time wanting Stack. There really wasn't nothing special about him and add in his jerk attitude, and his commitment issues and he doesn't sound like a winner to me but hey to each his or her own. I loved that Rissy and Armie kissed in this book, now if he can just not fuck it up I will be a happy lady. This book may not be my favorite of the series but it held my attention and entertained me. Now I am on to Armie's book!!! YAY.

Tough Love is a third book in Ultimate series, but can be easily read as a standalone. I haven't read previous books and was completely ok with the story. It was a bit long, but a good reading nonetheless.

We meet Vanity Baker, who's had a crush on Stack "The Wolf" Hannigan for a long time. He is all muscled, strong, sexy and hot MMA fighter. He is also commitment-phobe, so Vanity comes up with a plan and propositions him - just sex. She thinks that as long as she can keep her feelings hidden and make it looking casual, she can have him. Just sex, just friends, no feelings involved, that's what she offers to lure Stack. Stack is more than willing to agree and so their friends with benefits type of relationship begins.

Like that ever works.... Stack soon realizes that one night with Vanity is not even near enough for him and that he wants more. Her charming personality, honesty and good heart, it all gets to him. When they fell into easy relationship, outside problems appear, threatening them. Stack is determined to keep Vanity safe, while she fights for what she wants to have with him.

I loved Stack, you can see that underneath all that muscle, there is warm, sweet, caring and very protective man. Vanity was just fabulous heroine. I loved how she knew what she wanted and was not afraid to go after it.

"I met you and fell hard. Almost from the day I met you, I knew I wanted you. Within a few weeks, I was in love. But you never paid any attention to me, so I decided to proposition you."

Overall, if you are into fighters books where friends to lovers trope is a bonus, and you like strong alpha heros and good natured, smart and independent heroines, I recommend this one. You can also count on some steamy scorching sex scene, which is always welcomed in romances, right?

4 She Came, She Saw, She Conquered Stars * * * *

So, as my title for this review mentioned, Vanity had an agenda... She came to town, she met her friend's group of MMA fighters, she saw Stack and decidedly came up with a plan to hopefully to breakdown his walls and make him hers.

The lure was to dangle the promise of one commitment free sexual encounter in order to have him take her to the friend's wedding. Vanity knew what she wanted; was willing to present a win-win for both of them and pray it might lead to the outcome she dreamed of... them actually becoming more.

This was a fun read for many reasons... it was another part of this series of MMA fighters and the women who capture their hearts. With the understanding that is the goal...there is lots of lust, macho utterings and a bit of conflict ending in a very sexy HEA... what's not to like... If the reader goes into it with this understanding, the ride will be an enjoyable one.

There were hiccups along the way postponing the intended hooking up but through it all, our gal never lost the eye on the ultimate prize- Stack.

And what about Stack??? Well, figure on a hunky, sex machine with a rep of the highest order... would be kind but no commitment. Not for him... Coming from a family so complicated.. there wouldn't be room for a relationship even if he wanted one.

But did I mention, Ms. Vanity and her plans... and determination and wait... Over all goodness??? Yes, you would think someone scheming to get her "clutches" on our guy would be ick... but nope. Our gal is terrific; smart, caring and sometimes, just one of the guys with all of the other MMA fighters. So this delight of a woman kinda grows on Stack in a way he wasn't use to...and during all of it... Vanity hopes and prays he is coming around to seeing the writing on the wall... that he is meant for her and she is meant for him....

There is the usual drama of the fella realizing the impact this gal is having on him. Also a subplot of a brother in law who is no good. All of the factors add up to a sexy time with very little angst.

So the title of this review mentioned she came, she saw and she conquered...let's not forget this is a Lori Foster read... meaning they both came....a lot.

We are at the end of the summer and soon the heat will be a memory; at least, though, you'll have all the heat from Vanity and Stack to hold you through the cooler times.

Oh, and I almost forgot... another entry is coming... and it looks to be so good...So Ms. Foster, please keep writing these books, cause they are just like "those potato chips", ya know, you can't just have one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will be reviewing soon-
Just so ya know.... Delicious Lori Foster Alpha Men, a bit of conflict and a wonderful Woman who went and got her man...Yum!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Strong woman who has a scheme to make a certain MMA fighter notice her.....
Twist is he already has....
Their initial goal....Hot, scream for it sex....
Seems like there might be more to their relationship than "just that"....

I have always been a sucker for a good “fighter” and Stack “the Wolf” Hannigan fits the perfect profile for alpha hotness! His success in the MMA make him an easy target so he keeps his emotions tight and his libido free to the easy attention. When a sassy, smart, and very independent Vanity Baker falls for this sexy muscle she uses the best strategy she can to get to him…sex! Keeping her true feelings at bay she offers Stack an opportunity of a lifetime in hopes to get closer to him.

Well done Miss Vanity! The infamous commitment-phobe known as Stack is all in for some horizontal game play. He had no idea that a “no pressure” relationship would get to him. Vanity’s open communication, her good hearted nature, and her cool/calm demeanor appeals to Stack more than ever. Just sex?

Perhaps the foundation is being laid for MORE as Stack and Vanity soon find that one night of promised passion is not nearly enough. Just when the reader falls into a comfortable rhythm with Stack and Vanity, outside threats to a HEA step out from past shadows. Can Stack keep Vanity safe from the chaos his family brings? Will Vanity be able to hold only Stack when he realizes how deep she really feels?

I admit that I missed the first book in this series, but I met the gang in book 2. If you are fan of big, strong alpha men who hold their friends as close as family then you will love this series. Each fighter has a heart of gold and eyes for their women only. Stack is no different. Even though Vanity was just a “friend with a benefit” Stack went out of his way to care for her and he was attentive and oh so giving! Predictable in the friends to lovers theme, but completely enjoyable.

Overall I really enjoyed this series. Yes, I appreciated the hot muscle and scorching sex, but to be honest, I fell hard for Vanity Baker. I loved that she came from wealth yet at the same time, noting at all. I love that she was a consummate giver and a good heart. Mostly I loved her independence and the way she went all in to get what she wanted. I would recommend this read 1000x over!!!

4 Fighting for Love Stars!!

Tough Love starts off at Cannon and Yvette's (No Limits) wedding. Stack is a sexy MMA fighter and Vanity is a beautiful, confident woman, who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. It starts with a proposition no man could resist “one night of no strings sex”. Naturally one night is not enough to quench either Stack or Vanity's hunger, plus there were a couple of interruptions that cut their night short.

Stack and Vanity’s chemistry is off the charts hot and their story kept me wanting more. I love the connection between the main characters, and the friendships and bonds they have with the secondary characters, I really like the group of men and the women that make up this series, and the cameos of former favorite characters from other series. The loyalty they have for each other, and the way they look after each other is great. It's also amusing to watch when the whole jealousy thing comes into play.

 photo PicsArt_1440330873840_zpsccnubgz_edit_1440330928732_zpsfq51lhtw.jpg

Vanity is quite wealthy, very independent, and yes she's beautiful, she goes for what she wants...which is Stack, but she gets more than she bargained for. Soon she is caught up in Stack's family drama which becomes her own, and she happily and gladly accepts that sudden responsibility. Because of a tragedy in her life she doesn't have any family of her own, other than the the family she's made for herself with the gang from the rec center.

I am really looking forward to the next book and more of Armie and Rissy but I have to say I need Leese's book!! I loooooove his character, hopefully (fingers crossed) he'll get a book.

Overall, this story was a fun fast paced read and makes for a great lead into Fighting Dirty Armie & Rissy's book, which I'm anxiously awaiting!! Lori Foster did not disappoint with Stack and Vanity's book!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you ever read Lori Foster in the past then you’ll probably understand why I picked Tough Love in the first place.

I mean, MMA fighter hero? Great characters chemistry? Playful banter? Steamy romance? Action packed story?
These are the things coming in mind when I think about her books.

Tough Love is the third book in the Ultimate series and tells the story of Vanity and stack. This series focuses on younger heroes than usual but if you read her SBC fighters books you’ll be in known territory as many of the older characters are making an appearance here.

Vanity Barker always loved Stack—The Wolf— Hannigan. Since she first came live in Warfield she fell in love with him despite Stack apparent lack of interest for her.

Deciding her friend Yvette’s wedding would be the perfect excuse to make an offer Stack won’t refuse, she bargains a night of sex in exchange of his company for the wedding.

Vanity is in for the long ride and desperately hopes Stack will fall in her subterfuge of a promise, only little did she know The Wolf had his sights set on her for a long time…

Throw in a overwhelming family, smartass hot fighter friends, and a jealous ex girlfriend and you got yourself an entertaining read!

I must say both characters appeared to be immature to me, given they are both young, but I couldn’t help myself to observe their contradictions throughout the story.
I enjoyed Stack alpha number, he had the talk, the attitude but I thought that’s what it was… Just a performance. I didn’t really find in him all the things I usually love a Lori Foster’s hero to be.

As for Vanity, sure she was a nice young woman but was constantly trying to connect with her. One minute she was nice and sweet, the other she wanted to show her bad-ass attitude… It was a little disconcerting but given her backstory I understand why she was such a complex character.

Overall I enjoyed this book, I was sucked in right at the beginning, Vanity and Stack chasing after each other, the promised night delayed by issue after issue being thrown their way. While at first it was entertaining and serving the sexual tension to grow between these two, the constant interruptions quickly annoyed me. The story lost a bit interest in the middle, maybe due to the slow pace and lack of action.

The chemistry between them was burning hot and playful and I truly enjoyed the sexy times and the romance.

I can’t wait to read the next book as Lori Foster gave us plenty of Merissa and Armie in this one!

We all remember, how in the last book, Vanity asked Stack to be her date to Cannon & Yvette's wedding.
A date including sex!
She's been in love with the fighter ever since she came to town, but Stack is not after something serious.

Let the fight begin...because Vanity is playing dirty (verrry teasingly and erotically dirty!). She wants her man and she'll get him! And not just for one night!

description

But Stack hates lies - and Vanity's whole proposition was kind of a lie - because she didn't admit to having feelings already....

Stack's commitment-phobia is not the only thing standing in the way of their Happy Ever After...
Lots of family-problems and lies and half-truths and dogs and f'ing brothers-in-law ☺☺☺

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO VANITY & STACK???
WILL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEIR HEA???
WILL THERE BE A CLIFFHANGER??

description

I'm not telling you that of course ☺

PERFECT!!

Finally the next book in Lori's fighter series - only it's not really a fighter-fighter series - there's not much fighting going on. At least not much fighting between guys in a cage ☺

Another very sexy and funny romance!!!
I loved every moment - especially the scenes featuring Armie and all the other guys! Grrrrr can't wait to read Armie & Marissa's book!!! ☺

Vanity is sooo amazing - the way she takes care of the dogs and Stack's family. Just adorable.

And the big bad fighter with his soft heart for family and those cute dogs.

Lots of sexy scenes!!!!

description

I just love this series!
It's sooo adorable to see all those big bad fighters falling for their girls one after the other ☺

TOUGH LOVE was an amazingly beautiful & sexy & suspensy Romance! You'll love it!!!!!

I WOULD SOOO LOVE IT if someone would make a movie/tv-series out of this book - just so we could stare and fangirl at Cannon all day long!!!!

description

Now I can't wait for Armie's book - he already changed his hair to it's natural color for Marissa ;)

This is book #3 of the Ultimate series, and so far this has been my least favorite. I just didn't feel much connection with the main couple. Add to the fact that I have been dying for Armie's book since the beginning of this series...it just made it so that I was eager to finish this one...as I know Armie's book is next!! LOL

Vanity moved from LA to be with her friend who is married to one of the Ultimate fighters. She has embraced all of the new friendships she has made with the fighters and their women, and also has fallen in love with one the fighters named Stack. The thing with Stack is that he is not into any kind of commitment; but Vanity wants him badly. She concocts a scheme to propostition him into a one night stand, and secretly hopes that she will be able to convince him to want to be in a relationship with her. She does it on the down low, but the whole time she begins to worry what will happen when Stack finds out her plan. He makes it very clear that he hates game playing and liars. Stack has a bad past when it comes to women who scheme and lie...will he ever forgive Vanity if and when he finds out the truth? Will Vanity come clean? They become a couple very quickly but there are so many roadblocks that put this couple to the test..

I found Stack to be very distrustful...mind you...he had good reason to be...but his lack of trust made it so that he became over the top possessive and controlling. Most people know that I love a hard core Alpha male; but honestly Stack was not the type of Alpha that I adore. I found him to be somewhat disrespectful at times...don't get me wrong...he wasn't mean, he just was too controlling for my taste. Also, I just felt that this couple spent more time in tedious drama than developing a bond towards one another. It almost felt superficial to me.

This book wasn't bad; but it for sure was my least favorite of the series. I am very happy to be moving on to Armie and Merissa's book. This is a guy who is honorable...but he has fought his attraction for Merissa for far too long. I just know his book is going to be hot!!! I just want to begin immediately!!! So....moving on!!!

I think Stack and Vanity were even hotter than I expected.

This one starts off at Cannon and Yvette's wedding and is go from word one. I was afraid for a while there that another obstacle was going to get thrown in their way. No worries, they finally hook up, and boy was it hot. We get to see all the old gang plus little peeks into Armie and Rissy. I know she wrote that Armie's is going to the last but I think there needs to be one more with Lesee.

My biggest complaint is that the last 25% was a Buckhorn novella, and it was one I've already read.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Vanity has had her eye on Stack ever since she met him but with a reputation for avoiding commitment, she decides a little subterfuge is needed. She invites him to be her date to a wedding, with the promise of things ending in the bedroom but the caveat is that they aren't going to do anything until then and they can still see other people. This doesn't stop Vanity from teasing Stack to distraction, though. When their big night comes, fate intervenes with problematic issue over problematic issue. Vanity is a caring person and wants to help Stack but also give him his space while Stack is developing real feelings for Vanity but isn't sure right now is the time to let her in. Life is crazy but is giving each other a chance, just as crazy?

Third in the Ultimate series, Tough Love, focuses on Vanity (Yvette from No Limits' friend) and Stack. In the previous book, Holding Strong, Vanity made the deal with Stack for being her date at Yvette and Cannon's wedding but we start off here the night of the wedding and really the beginning of their story; don't worry if you haven't read the previous books. Vanity and Stack are already hot for each other, due to Vanity's teasing for weeks but with a night filled with car accidents and emergency room visits, there is a lot of starting and stopping for our couple. The beginning was a mixture of comical sexual vexation, heat, and frustration for me as the reader as it became a little too overdone in regards to instances keeping our couple apart.

Vanity was a bit of an uneven character for me. She lost all her family members in a plane crash so was supposedly afraid to put her heart out there but I never saw that. From the beginning she seems to love Stack and making plans to lure him in, she doesn't want him to feel pressured or smothered but constantly integrates herself into his family's issues. She also had a few Mother Teresa moments with "I have all this money and just want to help!" and buying into Stack's brother-in-law's lies. Stack was cardboard alpha for a lot of the book. He supposedly hangs around his MMA brothers because they are all that are good in the world and he trusts no one like he does these guys but it is repeatedly a problem when Vanity hangs around the guys because it makes him growly jealous that they might be hitting on her. Does he think these are good guys or not, can he trust them or not?

I liked these two together but with the unnecessary drama with Stack's ex-girlfriend and the three ring circus surrounding the who and why of the hired men to beat, no wait kill!, Stack, we don't get to see them together a whole lot. The ending with the Big Misunderstanding knocked a star off the rating for me also. Stack was extremely rude to Vanity, blew something way out of proportion, and then was dummy dumbfounded when she thought he broke up with her. The whole instance made Stack look extremely stupid, not a good look for a hero.

If you have been following along with this series, you'll know that all the stories feature overly good, angels on earth people and is probably why I'm chomping at the bit to get Armie's story. He has been popping in and out of all the books and while he is a good person, he seems to have some jagged edges to him. Here we got to see him break a bit in regards to owning up to wanting Merissa, Cannon's sister. Armie's book is next and I can't wait.

A blistering dynamo in the ring, a cuddly bear outside, Stack is the Ultimate man for Vanity, but his fear of commitment and a dark past could be too hot to handle without getting burned. No shrinking violet, Vanity makes Stack a deal he cannot refuse, and he falls into her web and under her spell, just as she planned it! Staying just out of reach, Vanity downplays her feelings to keep Stack from running for the hills, all while appearing to be a good friend with great benefits.

You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall and Stack is no exception to the rule. As he battles his inner angels and demons, his turmoil over commitment is soon to be decided, as Vanity secretly reels him in to fulfill her greatest dream. But Stack’s family and his past has started coming out of the woodwork like a case of termite infestation and their delicate house of sticks may be in danger of crushing them both.

Tough Love by Lori Foster is like getting cotton candy and hot buffalo wings, sweet and warm, then hot and oh so spicy as they sizzle! Settle in for the beginning, as the groundwork is laid and the characters fumble through those early stage jitters, because once they get over that strangeness, they are simply amazing together. Not into alpha, knuckle-dragging males with some sexist ideas? Trust me, Vanity will set the record straight an these two will raise the heat factor to boiling as one lust-filled male finds a strong female to bring him to the mat, leaving him spellbound. Great detail, great dialogue, amazing characters and tension as taut as a bungee cord, Lori Foster pitches another winner!

Tough Love by Lori Foster is a 2015 HQN publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This third book in the Ultimate fighter series is focused on Vanity and Stack. If you read the previous installment you will remember Vanity made Stack an offer he couldn't refuse in order to get him to be her date for their friends, Cannon and Yvette, wedding.

Well, the time has come for Vanity to make good on the deal and hopefully she will win big on the gamble of a lifetime. Will the notorious commitment shy, Stack, gamble on the roulette wheel of love or will he cash in his chips once Vanity makes good on her promise?

Immediately, the author whips us up into a frenzy then slowly takes her foot off the petal leaving readers cooling their heels for awhile. But, the suspense was just getting started because it didn't take me long to figure out what Vanity had in mind for Stack. I was on pins and needles because it seemed like he fell into her web just a little to easily and was a bit too happy to have been ensnared. It was like watching a ticking time bomb and I wanted to cover my eyes before the thing detonated.

But, if that set up weren't enough, it seems Stack's family life is complicated and Vanity starts to become emotionally invested in their lives, befriending his mother and sister, to the point of making a grave error.

While Stack was the usual alpha male MMA fighter, and he was over the top macho, occasionally crossing over into being a borderline sexist, his character wasn't quite a bad as some of the guys preceding him in the series. Being alpha is one thing, sexism is another and the latter really turns me off. He still has preconceived notions about women, still tries to control not only Vanity, but his mother and sister too, even though he has their best interest at heart and feels protective of the women in his life.
You have all encountered, in one way or another, a woman like Stack's sister, and while terribly frustrating for Stack, he does try to help her and keep her from making the same mistakes over and over, which is what family does, no matter how badly we wish we could get that person to wake up and smell the coffee. I thought this was a very thought provoking story line and hopefully one that made a difference for people on both sides of the spectrum.

Vanity has her own money, is free and independent, clever and goes for what she wants... which is Stack, but surprisingly she gets more than she bargained for by meeting Stack's family which by extension, became her own, especially in light of the fact she didn't have a family of her own, which gave this story an edge depth wise , over the last two books in the series.

Overall, this story was my favorite one in the series to date, and makes for a great lead in to the one we have all been breathlessly awaiting. Overall this one gets 4 stars

4.5 captivating, sexy, and hot stars for Tough Love. From the first paragraph I was all fucking in. The story starts off with a bang and keeps the punches rolling until the last word which is fabulous. I have read Lori Foster for years so I knew I would at least like this story because she's never let me down before. I liked liked this story quite a bit.

Vanity is by far one of my favorite heroines. She goes after what she wants and uses the tactics she has to in order to obtain the man she's dying to have. She teases him, makes him feel as though no commitment is involved, and offers sex as a reward for being her date to a wedding they both must attend. Vanity is refreshing, charming, and a damn good character.

Stack is the stereotypical fighter in that he's quite the player and an alpha male through and through. He's stereotypical until you start to see the real man he keeps hidden underneath all that muscle. He's sweet, gentle, caring, and passionate. He holds those close to him tightly and will protect them with all he has.

Vanity and Stack burn for each other and become addicted physically and attached emotionally. It takes for some ironing out of feelings, words, and thoughts but they end up happy and together. I do love me a happy ending with a sweet on the inside and tough on the inside kind of guy. The read was intriguing and sexy.

In Tough Love, the third book in the Ultimate series we have Stack’s story. Both Stack and Vanity have powerful chemistry to each other but haven’t acted out on it until Vanity takes control . Vanity has always been fond of Stack and wants more with him. She cares deeply for Stack, but she knows how afraid he is of commitment. So she wants to slowly ease him into a relationship because she knows what they have is explosive and worth the wait. So at first, we see the physical relationship between them grow. But there is drama with Stack’s family, his mother getting sick and his sister and her husband having troubles. Stack hates his brother in law, cheats on his wife and is a drug dealer and refuses to get a job. In Tough Love we see how Vanity cares about Stack…willing to do whatever it takes to get to know his family and do what needs to be done. Vanity lost all of her family, and even though they left her a inheritance that she would never have to worry about financial worries….she craves family and the bond that Stack has with his mother and sister. But there is some danger that will test Stack and Vanity.

WOWZERS!!! That is all I can say about Tough Love. I couldn’t get enough of this book and I loved these two together and also seeing more of the MMA crew. This group is hilarious, rambunctious, fights for each other and always has each other’s backs. And they included the women and I loved the way that they treat Vanity. They welcome her into their group easily and right away. I had so much fun seeing this story unravel and I loved the mystery and suspense element. I even got a kick out of the drama that gets revealed with Stack’s family. I loved his mother…she was so sweet. And his sister was very interesting and added a unique element to the story. But their bantering was hilarioius….typical siblings!! :) The romance is explosive and dramatic. It was so fun seeing them work through their issues and the misunderstandings that occur. Overall a quick and engaging story!! STIMULATING!

Vanity was so great in this one! I loved how she kept Stack off kilter from the start with her proposition. I found myself laughing at all the things that went wrong as Stack and Vanity kept trying to find a bed.

Vanity seemed to insinuate herself within all aspects of Stack's life, the fighters seemed to view her as a little sister, while his blood family included her like one of their own. Vanity needed that extra from Stack's family as hers was gone.

I loved to see how Stack got jealous of everyone, family and fighters if they spent too much time with Vanity. You could tell that Stack was going to mess up, I just didn't expect Stack to be so brutal with his words. I loved that everyone took Vanity's side and gave Stack hell. I was glad that Stack finally got his head out of his butt and corrected his earlier actions.

4.5 Stars - Loved it!

Tough Love by Lori Foster is the 3rd book in the Ultimate series. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this MMA series and this one is no exception. Tough Love focuses on Stack and Vanity. I have been looking forward to their story since the tension ramped up between them in the last book. In Tough Love we see that tension come to fruition.

Vanity propositioned Stack in, Holding Strong, getting his attention and his agreement to be her date to Cannon & Yvette’s wedding, with the promise of no strings sex afterwards. This is all a ploy on her part to get him interested in her since she’s wanted him from the moment she met him and not just for sex, she has happily ever after in mind.

Tough Love starts off with a sizzle and captured my heart from the very first page. I loved Stack and Vanity together. Their romance was a perfect combination of sexy, endearing and sweet. This one takes a step back from the MMA scene and focuses more on family and personal connections with a touch of danger mixed in.

Vanity is a character who on the surface has it all but what she truly longs for is love, acceptance and family. She’s a wonderful heroine who’s not afraid to go after what she wants with everything in her arsenal. I really liked her and admired her determination. She’s warmhearted, independent and strong. Stack didn’t stand a chance once she set her sights on him. Not that he really wanted to resist.

Stack is a great hero, one that endeared me from the very first page. He’s an Alpha male that manages to be sweet, protective and endearing. Vanity snuck up under his defenses and burrowed her way into his heart as he did to hers. Their romance is a wonderful tale from beginning to end. It’s steamy, romantic and funny. I loved it and I look forward to the next book.

Holding Strong and the Ultimate series is highly recommended to fans of contemporary romance. For the best enjoyment I would advise reading this series in order, starting with the first book, No Limits.

I have to admit I sorta fell into this series. I do love fighter novels so back when book one of this series was offered on Netgalley I did a request and received the novel. I read it and thought it was ok so when I saw the same thing for book 2 I requested it and got it and liked it even more than book one. Now I have to say I was new to Lori Foster's writing and wasn't sure quite what to expect and I had been reading really gritty edgy fighting novels prior so I think that these novels seemed lighter by comparison. So when I saw this novel on both Edelwiess and Netgally I thought it was a sign so have to thank the publisher for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review. I totally found myself lost in this novel.

I think because I had a connection with the mc' since I had met them in the previous books I had real buy in to them getting a HEA. I enjoyed Vanity very much in the previous novel and was anxious to learn more about her since she did have some mystery surrounding her. Stack I though was a bit of a jerk but was giving him the benefit of the doubt cause after all a lot of our heroes tend to be jerky until they meet their lady love. I admit Stack did grow on my and I found him quite funny at times but other times I did want to smack him upside his head, that boy had some maturing to do.

I don't want to get to much in to the story but trust me when I say we have some intrigue and not all is easy for this couple. I think what I am beginning to really appreciate about Lori Foster's MMA fighter novels is that I enjoy the camaraderie of her character's group of friends and I love how the love stories turn into a sweet connection between the two characters. Yes they have their rough times etc but beneath it all you know all involved are good people and that they have a true connection to each other.

I'm definitely going to keep reading this series and I suggest if you like a dose of sugar with your MMA fighters and a hint of intrigue just to keep your blood boiling than this is definitely a series you don't want to miss. I'm giving this novel a 4 star rating and a recommendation ...A great fast read for a warm summer day!

Caffeinated Dates with Tough Love

First Date: Vanity has a thing for Stack but knows he has commitment phobia and our heroine is very clever. She plays dirty but in the most delicious way. In the previous book, the two make an arrangement of sorts. He will be her date at the wedding of their friends and she will give him one night of bliss with no strings attached. Ooo-la-la you clever, clever girl. The novel opens at the wedding and we get a little flashback of what has been happening since they made the arrangement. They have not even hooked up yet and Stack is plotting for more time.
Second date: Things get hot and smexy, but interruptions caused by a family emergency and commitments keep these two from doing the tango. Foster has a way with her characters, and I found myself drawn in and curious about his family and their problems. We continue to learn more about Vanity and the more I get to know her the more I want to be her bestie. The chemistry, banter and dance between Stack and Vanity is off the charts and I so want them to get an HEA. We get updates about other characters, and witness some changes in Armie. A suspenseful thread involving Stack adds tension and a little mystery. I enjoyed this added element.
Third date: Secrets, threats and growth make the last date intense. Vanity has been in love with Stack since she met him, but watching Stack fall is nothing short of sweet. Danger and misunderstandings made this final date a little bumpy but Foster creates just enough tension without overdoing the drama. I really do not want this date to end.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tough Love. I've been really looking forward to the story of Vanity and Stack after the previous book, and this one did not disappoint. They are both great characters, and I loved how Vanity was so sure of her feelings for Stack and acted on them. Stack was commitment shy, but was wonderfully protective of Vanity. The two had great chemistry together, and I loved reading their story.

Vanity made a deal with Stack to spend a night with him in return for accompanying her to the wedding of friends. Although the two are very attracted to one another, their plans for a steamy night are interrupted. As Stack''s family has issues that arise and interfere, Vanity is sweet and steps up to help in any manner possible. Stack isn't looking for a relationship, but is very drawn to Vanity. Another complication emerges when it becomes apparent that they are in danger, and Stack is determined to keep Vanity safe.

This was a great addition to the series, and I really enjoyed seeing all of the familiar characters. Stack and Vanity were both very likable in this one and I loved reading their story. The chemistry between Stack and Vanity was great, and the storyline kept me interested from start to finish. I can't wait for the next book! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Action packed, sexy and funny, Tough Love is the best yet in the Ultimate Series! I have been reading Lori Foster's books for years and have never been disappointed, I highly recommend any of her books to anyone who hasn't read her yet. Vanity has been in love with Stack since she first laid eyes on him, he's ripped, sexy, funny and an all around sweet guy. In an effort to claim him as hers forever, Vanity devises a plan to snag and keep his attention; be her date for her best friends wedding and he won't have to worry about finding a hook up, she'd be his hook up for a night that'll burn the house down. Stack hasn't been able to focus on his MMA training ever since he agreed with Vanity's plan and after the wedding he wants nothing more than to forget that stupid agreement and go wherever this is taking them. When Stack gets attacked by thugs, it is discovered that someone wants Stack dead and Vanity might also be in danger. I love all of Lori Foster's books and this is one of my favorites in the series so far, I can't wait to read Armie and Merissa's story next, which will probably become my new favorite in the series :)! **I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

Containing hilarious cock-blocking, interrupted best laid plans, shady characters and a few overreactions, Tough Love has you rolling with the punches. I loved watching the feelings between Stack and Vanity grow while trying to unravel the potential danger that lurked around the corner. Don’t worry, lots of sex is also had. ;)

Vanity throws it all on the line to get at least one night with Stack – she’s been in love with him since pretty much the second that she saw him, but she’s willing to play the game and hook him slowly…especially since he’s made it pretty clear in the past that he’s only good for one night.

So Vanity makes The Plan: proposition Stack – check; engage in verbal foreplay for weeks – check; be so goddamn awesome he’ll never want to leave – CHECK. When Stack’s family drama ratchets out of control, Vanity takes the lead. She’s calming, soothing, a bit quirky, but is mostly just awesome.

From the beginning it’s clear that Vanity isn’t like other women. She’s cool under pressure, she’s logical to a fault, and she’s incredibly giving and kind. She bulldozes her way into Stack’s life, leaving Stack shaking his head in wonder. The build of their relationship was sweet and pretty damn sexy.

Stack is a strong man, holding family (both biological and chosen) in the highest regard. When he’s in full on alpha mode, he’s adorable. He doesn’t know why he feels these things for Vanity all of a sudden – he just knows that he does. It’s pretty damn cute watching a big man go all mushy when he realizes he’s in love. GAH, I die every time.

Of course, he’s also sort of a possessive guy, and once he realizes that he wants much more out of Vanity than she’s claiming she’s offering (OH! The Plan is working!) he blatantly begins to mark his territory. Honestly, it was a little ridiculous that he was less than accepting that Vanity has *shhhhh* male friends, but no worries, Vanity quickly fixes that disillusionment. Because she’s awesome.

I am such a complete sucker for MMA fighter books, but you don’t get that much fighting (in the ring) or gym time in this book. Sadface. However, there is so much going on, that you won’t even remember that you’re not watching the sweat roll down their bodies while they spar in the cage. SORRY FOR THE MENTAL IMAGE (not really sorry).

As with all of Lori’s books, I absolutely enjoyed her writing style and characters. I was easily swept into the story, cheering for (or against) the characters, and smiling at the ending. An alpha male + a quirky and strong heroine had me loving this book immediately. The plot kept me on my toes and the heat kept me needing more. Great read! 4.25 stars!

Wow I really love this series so far. This is only the third book, but each one seems to be getting progressively better and with Armie's book being next, it's just going to be amazing!

This one was about Stack and Vanity. Vanity is having strong feelings towards Stack but she also knows that Stack will just shy away from anything remotely smelling of a relationship so she decides to change it up. She approaches him with a deal, attend the wedding of some friends with her and in exchange he gets one whole night with her. But no contact between each other can happen until the night of the wedding. Nothing can go wrong with that scheme... can it?

I think Foster really outdid herself with these two. The sexual chemistry was through the roof and what made it even better was the anticipation of what was to come. So many things kept getting in the way of Vanity and Stack's relationship and yet it still brought them closer together.

I loved seeing the relationship between all the fighters and how much like a family they are. Whenever one of the brothers needs something they are all there. I also really loved how they all came to Vanity's side and helped her throughout the book.

I can't wait for Armie's book, I think it's going to be a doozy!

Welcome to the world of mixed martial arts fighting, where the guy play hard & love harder. Foster develops the plot of her tale intricately & intimately, taking readers for one heck of a ride. I loved the variety of different aspects of life, love & loss that Foster brings into play. Suspense & chemistry, danger & raw lust kept me glued to the pages.

I love the way that Foster develops her characters. It feels so personal, like we’re truly being introduced. The main characters’ viewpoints are so apparent throughout. I love how Foster gives us each of their points of view without breaking the story into ‘his’ and ‘hers’ sections. I got a kick out of Vanity & Stack’s relationship. They were so much fun. They truly complemented and contrasted with each other perfectly.

Once again Foster has created a one of a kind novel that brings real life to play in unforgettable ways. It’s a story that I’d recommend to any who enjoy a great story.

I love all of the ultimate books be it Cannon, Denver, Stack or Armie. This is Stack’s book and my second fav only edged out by Armie’s story.
I love the love story between Stack and Vanity, the love and friendship between the whole group. I know I’ll always have a fun time when I crack open an ultimate book. This was no exception and even more where we got to know more about Stack and his eccentric sister and mother plus two rambunctious dogs thrown into the mix. If you want a nice read on a cold winter night with just a tad bit of angst pick this book up along with the other three in the series you will not regret it.

I loved Vanity even if the girl has bad timing, "tipping her head, she smiled at him. “You only recently started calling me darlin’. Is it because we’re finally going to have sex?” Behind them, a cop coughed." Stack isn't the bit modest, “I’m not sweet, I’m horny.” He cupped her face. “So what’s the verdict?” jealousy looks interesting on Stack, “butts?” Disbelief lightened his scowl. “You’re telling me you moon over guy’s a**es?” I loved Stack I haven't met a guy in this series that I haven't loved yet and I'm really excited about Armie's story he can't get here fast enough.

The third book in the Ultimate series by Lori Foster. Vanity Baker wants Stack Hannigan and makes a no strings deal with him if he escorts her to her friend's wedding. Only Stack wants more and so does Vanity but she doesn't want to "scare" him off. But family issues interrupt.

Another fun, entertaining addition to the series. We get to revisit many of the previous couple/characters and follow future heroes/heroines around. Ms. Foster writes in a style that I like and I will continue to seek out her books.
