I liked this book because I like bugs that battle. I also liked this book because I liked it when the birds battled the hornets.

So much fun to read with my 9 year old!

Quick read, simple story, yet it contains a lot of action and adventure. Probably a good book for kids just learning to read chapter books.

Things to discuss: use of crude anatomical term (pg 4); discussion of Captain Moroni and not being happy to hurt others (contrast to "That's what you get!" on pg 97)

Read this to my 6-year old over several nights. He absolutely loved it. It's very fast-paced and engaging for kids and the language is perfect for bug-enthusiasts. Purchased the rest of the series.
