3.5 Figuring It All Out Stars * * * 1/2

A surprising look at how experiences of our families and early loves can set the path for life... and how important it is to understand the only person you need to make feel proud is You. A story about how people pleasing is not the answer.

This had many layers; young love lost, heart and characters we were interested in... another book is in the works which promises to be equally strong if not more. Worth the read.

I was a bit disappointed with this book. On one hand, it was an entertaining read, but on the other I found the characters very annoying, to the point where I really didn't want to read the book anymore.

The bulk of my problems with the characters rested with Cassie. She held on to the past entirely too long, but Sam was also guilty of that. Cassie came across as trying entirely too hard and being somewhat impulsive because of it. She didn't use her head, and that lead to a lot of overly manufact

I love the house flipping details in Ines Saint's Spinning Hills series, however; I'd love to see a female character I could relate to a little more. In my opinion these first two are a little too over the top with their "quirkyness".

3.5 stars. I’m a little torn about this book, because on the one hand I love Spinning Hills, I love Sam, I love the three old women at the café, I love Sam’s brothers, I adore his little boy, I loved the old houses and the way the town comes together to promote them, not to mention the tensions running through everything between the new people and the old. And then there’s Cassie. I tried to like her, I really did, but somehow… I just didn’t.

She seems nice enough. She’s hardworking and passionat

This was a perfectly uninteresting romance story but wait, that changes. (Read on to find out why.) The only things that kept me reading were a) I don't like to give up; and b) there was a mildly interesting secret yet to be revealed. We knew part of it, but there was still a piece missing.

Neither Cassie nor Sam were characters I really loved, although both had admirable qualities. I think the stubbornness that each had turned me off a little. Part of me didn't want to see them get together, or

I received the book from NetGalley.

Needs a Little TLC is a charming romance. I mean that in the best way. This is a contemporary romance, about Cassie and Sam. They were childhood sweethearts, but had a bitter breakup and Cassie left their small town. Now she's returned as a realtor, wanting to market the thirty or so houses he's been renovating. It's a lucrative opportunity for both them, if they can work together.

One of the best things about this book is the down-to-earth reality of their live

I loved this one, and I don't usually like stories about first loves getting back together because many times they don't address why people grew apart or broke up in the first place, and they also usually frame the years they've been apart as if they don't count and as if their whole lives were leading up to getting back together. I also don't usually like stories where there's cheating, but truly I don't feel Sam cheated on Cassie 10 years ago! That's part of what I like, there's Cassie's persp ...more

If possible, I loved this installment of Spinning Hills even better than the first. The biggest reason: CONFLICT.
The conflict in Needs a Little TLC between Sam and Cassie was real, deep, and character shaping. There were several times there in the thick of it when I legitimately thought, "There is no way they are going to be able to get past this; it's too raw and painful." If I had a complaint about contemporary romance, it would be that sometimes the conflict can feel a little contrived, perha

I read the first book in this series Flipped, and this book continues the story of three brothers who are finding their way in a small town. Sam is the quiet one who takes care of everyone else's needs i his own way. He doesn't ask for help but after purchasing over 30 houses to renovate and sell he is going to need help from his brothers.

Cassie is trying to establish herself in the area with her Real Estate business asks for a meeting with Sam to represent his properties. They have history and

I loved this one! It's a wonderful second chance story set in a quaint small town filled with wonderfully quirky characters. It's very well written with a great pace to the story.

Childhood sweethearts, Cassidy Morgan and Sam Amador, are reunited when Cassie returns to Spinning Hills to represent Sam in the sale of historic homes he has renovated. The past we know never stays in the past so these two need to deal with it. The longer they are together it becomes clear neither has ever gotten over

This was cute! I feel like this series is going to be one that I want to like more than I actually do. But it's very cute.

A little bit about me: I was born in Zaragoza, Spain, though my parents are from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, I've moved more than twenty times. I went to school in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico and I'm bilingual and bicultural. I've spent the last thirteen years raising my fun, inspiring boys while working from home. My greatest joys are spending time with family and close fr ...more
