These books continue to be as addicting as ever! Flew through this one. I think having Charlie questioning everything does raise the suspense but sometimes it gets to be annoying. I also really don’t trust Raegan anymore; I think she’s too secretive. Romance is still as hot as ever and slightly explicit. And the ending had me laughing – it makes a nice set up for the next one. I just wish that the murder section would come in because it was in the prologue. When will that happen?

This is the second part of this story. With just over a hundred pages it's a quick read. Things are building up and getting interesting. It's hard to review without spoilers so I'm saying nothing about the story.
Great twists and turns had me gripped. Oh and what an ending!! Looking forward to reading more of this story.

Wow, Shade is the second book in the Snapped series and the mystery is driving me crazy. This book allows the reader more insights into the characters and we start to see the cracks forming. Charlie and Slade appear to be the perfect couple and so in love. Their friends seem to really care about them and only want good things for them. But someone and maybe more than one person is doing what they can to destroy it.

Charlie's a great woman and she's trying to deal with everything. She loves Slade with her whole heart and she's trying to make their life together. There's a lot against them. Slade's being away for games and all the practices, the media, and people trying to sully their lives.

Reagan's the character I believe is causing the most problems. She's my number one suspect but sadly I have seen other characters showing their true colors. She comes across as a sweet person that just wants to be friends with Charlie. But behind the scenes she does so many things for Slade's attention.

Slade's the start Quarterback and just seems so great and in love with Charlie. He says that he's very supportive of Charlie and her dreams. But when it comes to what he wants, he does what he can to get what he wants. He thinks Reagan is harmless and feels bad for her and doesn't see what she's really doing. Charlie and he get into a fight because someone is doing what they can to tarnish Charlie's views in the media. And he said "don't discount my instincts. It's school, Char. We're talking about my life. Your problems on the playground can be dealt with by not fucking around. We're talking about my future. My image. And you're deliberately putting it in question." His jealousy, showing moments of being a control freak, discounting Charlie's feelings and life, and thinking Reagan is a great girl.

Lara is Charlie's best friend. She moves to the city with Charlie. She's always been so different from Charlie. She loves to dress sexy and enjoys the limelight. She has feelings for Nate and really wants him. But she starts to see how Nate feels for Charlie and she thinks she sees Charlie's feelings for him back. She sees some things with Reagan but doesn't think it's much and she also a little jealous of Charlie.

Ready to find out more about this mystery.

Shade is the second book in the Snapped serial. Now, if you read my review of Snapped, you’ll already know how fast I fell in love with this series and how invested I am in the characters after only one book. After the hair pulling, nail biting cliffhanger from the first book, I was more than ready to slide right into Shade. The drama and intrigue from the first book continued right into this second installment, the tangled web becoming more convoluted with each turn of the page. I had wondered if the intensity would flow the same as Snapped and was happy that I wasn’t disappointed. Each chapter was a revelation, another piece of the puzzle unfolding.

Charlotte Miller is a girl in love. After following the love of her life, Slade to NYC to be with him as he pursues his dream of playing professional football; she is more than willing to slip into her new life as a law student and prove to the world that she is the right match for Slade. But as tensions rise and new enemies are discovered, will the bond that she and Slade be able to survive? Is the press right, is she nothing but a mistake? What I liked about this, was no matter how much negativity was thrown their way, Slade continued to prove himself and his love for Char. Despite the pressures, he never wavered and that made me love his character more and more.

What kept my interest in this second book was the further development of Reagan and Nate’s characters. As Reagan’s true colours begin to show, the further strain it puts on their blooming friendship, and causes strain on Charlotte and Slade. Trust is a fragile thing, and once those strings are snapped - they are very difficult to be reattached. Nate is a complex man, criminal lawyer by day - hard core rocker by night. The more time he spends with Char tutoring her, the more complicated things become. Is there an attraction between them? Or is it simply a one-sided crush?

Fame. Lies, betrayal, lust. Is love enough to survive the pressures to succeed? Or will it be devastating enough to cost someone their life? Find out more in the next heart-stopping installment of the Snapped series. Shade will blow your mind and leave you begging for more.

***** This is part two of a serial, there is no ending per se. Also this is a mystery serial, I can't say much without spoiling, so I'm not going to say anything about the story.*****

Part two of the serial has cracks at the relationship between characters starting to show, and a cloud of discord appears. Literally everyone has been thrown under the bus, and they are all appearing to be quite the little devils. Not even Charlie is without any blame.

This book continues on the weeks prior to the crime, building up motives so each and everyone might have reason to SNAP!

I have truly enjoyed how the author makes me doubt everybody. Also, every time I believe I know something, Ms. Allison has proven me wrong, which I love!

My one complain here would be that Charlie's personality is starting to annoy me some. She is to passive, and she has a tendency to hide behind the truth. Worst, she is the type that lets others goes into attack-mode when she is clearly in her right to question things. Wake up, Charlie! Grow some balls!

Now the worst of it all... I have finish book two and I still don't have book three to read. I'm ready to cry now, because book two have an amazing ending. You know, the type that makes you pull out your hair wanting to know more!

You may read this book because you have read book one of the series; you should read this book because book one has left you curious enough; but you MUST read this book if you enjoy creatively-written mystery books!

I reviewed this at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley!

Shelley: It's hard for me to write about Shade without being spoilerific so I'll just give you a rundown of some of my general thoughts:

Shel: THERE IS SOME FUCKERY GOING ON. <-- and that about sums it up. For real. Who do I trust? I already felt suspicious of the way 3 of the 4 characters were acting in Snapped and this book just solidified it for me. Friends not being very friendly, deception, and discomfort--these are all ways I'd describe what I was feeling as I read. Court: Boy, if we had friends like these, why would we ever need enemies?? But yes. There is some wicked fuckery going on...and even though that is going to make me have to seriously edit the fuck out of my review just to get it to post on Amazon...that is about all I've got.

Shel: I'm eager to get to Sin to see if we begin to get answers. I have so many questions about who these characters are and what the hell they think they're doing. Court: We're like...this happened, and this happened, and oh, can't tell you that. FECK!

Shel: Also? I want to shout at Char to freakin trust her instincts. TRUST THEM. Court: She isn't. She's doubting herself, and that is why I think I want her to find her inner badass early! I need it!

Shel: And also? I want people to quit assuming crap and USE THEIR WORDS and not just allude to things. This is painful--in the best way because I'm totally engaged. Court: IT IS SO HARD! Because guess what folks, in a short month, the honeymoon phase is over, and we FINALLY have some real life, bad ass, hard shit going on between these people. Adult like things, that ouch, they hurt when we have to go through growing pains like that...but the writing is spectacular for me, and I feel like we're really hitting a stride with this story and these characters and I am so engaged and enthralled with this story. I am pimping it out left and right, and YOU will be next!

Again, I had the same problem. IT ENDED TOO FAST.

More trouble is brewing in the lovers’ paradise.

Charlie’s life gets really complicated in SHADE from all directions. Be it the strange messages the love of her life is getting, the weird vibe Reagan is giving, the sudden news with Lara and finally, a seemingly-normal study session with Nate turns out to be trouble.

Though this time round, I am pretty sure I’m starting to feel murderous for all the characters except for Lara. In SNAPPED, the first book, Reagan gets on my nerves a lot but this time, she just got herself an upgrade to being the most unlikeable character ever.

I get it, even normal couples gets into fights, and much less a couple where being the girlfriend has to deal with her boyfriend’s rising fame. Sometimes I wonder what Charlie is thinking. She seems be understandable with people’s action but…I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY SHE CAN BE UNDERSTANDABLE.

The way her boyfriend is treating her, and not to forget the way she is treating her boyfriend, like there are flaws on both sides. Oooh, let’s not forget NATE. Yes, let’s never forget him AND his sister, Reagan too.

Lara though, seems to be the only grounded one right now. Her senses are probably the most accurate out of everyone in this giant mess right now. So yes, this makes her awesome really. Or more accurate, Charlie is lucky to have her as her friend.

Okay, enough character-ranting. SHADE is really a good novella since well, it allows me to have so much feelings on the characters. The story development is fast and awesome!

Highly recommended for Ketley Allison and her SNAPPED series readers and of course, those would like to read a novel filled with so much drama!

Shade is the second installment of The Snapped series. This is the part where things are building up, problems and dramas popping out, trust issues and more and more you question the intention of the people surrounding Charlie. Just like Snapped, Shade is only over a hundred pages and I really can’t divulge much from it because most of the events that happened here are quite big moments of the story.

I’m quite frustrated with Charlie’s character because of some decisions that she made in this installment and how passive she can get. There were instances in the story wherein it’s an opening for her to question things already but then she doesn’t grab it. She always takes what she has been given and leaves things at that. I want her to take charge of the situation instead of being overpowered by it and by the people surrounding her.

Ha! Someone’s really trying to mess up with Charlie and Slade’s relationship. It was that obvious. As to who, I have a guess on who that is. I want to rant about that character here but then it would be really spoilery. Ughhh! I really hate that person! I hope Slade could see that before it’s too late…

Anyways, I’m really excited for the next part – SIN. I.NEED.IT.IN.MY.LIFE.RIGHT.NOW. I need to know what happens next to Charlie, especially with how Shade ended. Cliffhanger. Though, I’m sure that everything will be messier in the next one.

**I received an ebook ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review**

Shade continues right where Snapped left off. Now, because this is a series, I don't want to put much about the plot itself in here. So, no details from here on out with my reviews, but I will say that the plot flowed smoothly between the first book and this one, and Allison did a good job of making sure the details were seamless.

Allison kept me guessing throughout this portion. I had a few ideas for who the deceased mentioned in the prologue of the initial book might be, and a few ideas of who might be responsible for the crime that was committed, but by the time I got to the end of Shade, all my ideas were out the window and I was back to the drawing board.

Slade's attitude really started to bother me as I read this book. He seemed so ... nonchalant about the concerns Charlie brought to him. It felt like he just expected her to make a bunch of adjustments to her life but he didn't have to may any adjustments to his.

Reagan still kept creeping me out. In fact, her behavior and personality got even more creepy in this book. Part of me wanted to think she was just naive, but another part—a much bigger part—is firmly convinced she's standing in the deep end of the crazy pool.

Allison gave us more build up in this book, more details, and even more drama and suspense to digest.

Oh, and we got more of Nate too, and quite frankly I adore him. Of course men with tattoos always tug at my heart. ;)

Shade opens at Week 3 and covers three weeks. Lara is now working for Nate in the family bar and clams up when Charlie asks how things are going. Why all the mystery?

I appreciate Charlie’s self-deprecation. Here’s a girl who attracted and still holds the attention of a hot-looking football player who could easily have any girl he wants but she’s full of insecurities. She can’t pull off sexy texting and gets squirmy when football groupies hang on Slade. It’s kind of nice to see a golden girl who isn’t sure she belongs where she is rather than the self-absorbed girl in love with herself that Charlie could have been. Still, Slade truly loves her. Doesn’t he?

And then the connections among the five friends begin to crumble, just a little. Cracks in the foundation, hints of betrayal, and it all touches Charlie. Suddenly, loyalties come into question and the one person who’s the most enigmatic, Nate, suddenly has much more of a presence in Charlie’s life. At the same time, there’s a side to Slade that’s new to Charlie.

The tension ratchets up in this second novella in the series and the distrust that begins to creep in is palpable. At the end of this three week period, I have no clue where this is all heading or what’s going to happen to these five people. I’m sure I’m beginning to dislike Slade and perhaps Reagan but…I could be wrong. Guess I’ll have to wait for the third novella, Sin, due out in December.

Normally I don't like novellas. I'm a fast reader and blaze through them quicker than you can say the title. But with the first two books of the snapped series that changed. Sure I read them fast but it wasn't because it was a short read it was because I couldn't put the Damn things down. And trust me i tried. I have a life you know. Between the complete mystery starting from the first pages and the hints being thrown at you it keeps you engaged throughout the entire story. That's what I love about them the most is I'm constantly engaged trying to look for clues. My time isn't wasted reading idly I'm actually doing something calculating what the mystery could be. I love it. There'd only two things I don't like. Charlie ha a tendency to be whiny and that's one my pet peeves. And the second thing I wasn't a fan of...I DON'T HAVE THE NEXT ONE TO READ! But that's an easy fix. I could spend my time explaining these dynamic characters to you but I would be taking precious tune away that you could be using reading these novellas. So go one click these bad boys you will not regret it.  To me this is a five star read and I can't wait to read the next part of the story

This Snapped series may cause me to SNAP!!! Good Gracious, I just need some damn answers!!! Who the hell did what?? At this point I am accusing everyone, everybody seems guilty to me, right now. Except maybe Nate, because I am totally falling for him ;)

So, Shade picks up right where Snapped left off, thank goodness. In Shade we are told more of Charlie and Slade’s story. But still not enough!!! And I have come to despise Raegan!! And to be honest, I am a little suspicious of Slade and Lara, too. See, I told ya, they all seem guilty to me.

And as far as Charlie, she needs to get her life together. She is letting everyone push her around and it is making me start to dislike her a little. She needs to grow a back bone and tell some people off.

This series is packed full of frustration!!! And it will make you absolutely crazy waiting on the questionable secrets to come out. At this point, I feel like everyone has secrets and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, with hopes that I will finally get some answers!!!

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off. We are getting to know the characters more. We are beginning to see flaws in each other. The story is building more and more as to who is dead and who did it?

Shade and Charlie seem to be having issues come between. If it is not a strange text on Shade’s phone then it is a simple touch from Nate when he is helping Charlie study. But it is causing Shade and Charlie to doubt each other.

Then throw in Reagan who is showing more of herself. She seems to have a little more than a crush on Shade. But he seems to feel like she just needs a friend. Charlie is not happy about this.

Lara wants to pursue Nate. But Nate acts as thought there is something going on between him and Charlie.

It seems as thought there is doubt everywhere we look. Can Charlie and Slade continue on in their loving relationship with Reagan and Nate being a part of their lives?

After reading book 2, my mind is reeling as to who died? And who is the real killer? I can not wait to dive into book 3 and finally get some answers.

In this part we get some character development and again it is strange. Ketley does a great job of making you think everyone is up to something. The plot really thickens now with odd actions and comments here and there. Slade and Charlie are beginning to suffer due to the press and fans always in their face and questioning their relationship. It doesn't help that there are random texts and odd interactions with Slade and friends and not to mention the tension with Nate and Charlie. Slade and Charlie are together , Lara wants Nate , Nate wants Charlie , Reagan wants Slade !! I wonder who gets who and who the heck gets killed !! As some seem to be getting what they want Charlie is becoming super jealous , suspicious and crazed due to Reagan's weird behavior and everyones lack of concern over it. Add in a couple confrontations and WOW you have a crazy end to this part !! What will come next , oh PLEASE I need more !!

Again this is filled with drama , heartache , hot guys , great sex and suspense !!

this picks up where the first book ends but the intrigue and drama ratchets up. Trusts issues arise with Charlie and her boyfriend over things that normally wouldn’t effect them. Laura starts to act odd and falls in love and begins to question charlie and her intentions with others. Regan shows her true self and it gets Charlie questioning her and her motives. Meanwhile Nate helps Charlie and it gets her boyfriend wondering about her.

All this leads to a fight that has Charlie reeling and wondering if things are okay in her world.

A book that begins to build the emotions and questions of what happened to lead up to murder. that shows chinks in the armor of Charlie’s life and begins to get the mind more and more fascinated and coming up with scenarios that led up to murder.

A great buildup to lead you to conclusions on your own and helps you stay wanting to know more of what leads up to the murder of we don’t know yet but am dying to know.

SHADE by Ketley Allison is the second book in her Snapped series. reviews are going to get more and more difficult to wriute in order to remain spoiler free but let me tell you... Things are starting to crack. Trust is becoming a valued commodity that is in short supply, lust is taking over lives, betrayal, doubt... you name it.

Beginning in week 3 prior to the murder and ending in week 5 we are teased with pieces of the back story and begin to start forming our own guesses on what's going on. I only know that I don't have a clue yet and keep second guessing myself on each theory.

Very excited for the next book in this series

Okay, so the first one might have been slow, but this was.. oh, shitstorm! And there are even more parts to go before this really blows up. Dying to know what else Ketley Allison has thought up before it comes to the murder!

As in the review:
Now, things really got into motion. Charlie's first suspicions about Raegan's true motives, her attraction to Nate despite her love for Slade. My suspicion for Lara held, because she was in the spotlight next to Slade although Char should've been. Instead, Charlie embarrassed herself in front of the cameras, and her friendship with Nate got her into the scandal column. All that is a lot of pressure and good grounds for a very conpirational story like this.

So shade starts where snapped finishes off, which means no time overlap or missing key time points in the story.

Truthful I still I little unsure about this series. The story is gripping enough to keep reading but nothing major is really standing out. The story at this point is moving along nicely, if however I little slow for my liking.

The characters are interesting enough and are starting to show their true colours. Some of them were a bit of a surprise at what they say and do and others not so surprising.

All said and done I will be reading the next book because the need to know what happens next is just to great to give up now.

Oh the revelations! Just when I thought I knew what was going on, this series got even better. Things are topsy-turvey, but I'm not happy with where things are going with Charlie. It seems all is not well in paradise. Charlie is facing battles from all sides; school, friends, her boyfriend, and it's no longer clear who is showing their true face. Once again I was anxious about what I saw developing between all the characters. And I once again read this installment in an hour. I'm really starting to doubt everyone's motivations but Charlie's.

Alrighty, Shade, book 2 in this series has definitely drawn me in more so than Snapped. In this book, the plot begins to thicken and I am questioning the actions/motives of every character for 1 reason or another!
In this book, Charlie seems to be learning that, trust is a 2 way street and she needs to burn some of the bridges. I kind of feel sprry for her, because she is having troubles with many if not all of the people in her life. What should she do? Who should she trust? Will she fail when it comes to her studies? Is her identity/independence at risk? I guess, I need to keep reading.

After the first book, I was curious, but this one stepped up and brought some more action, intrigue, and a crazy psycho ginger. I liked getting to know all the characters better, even though it was a quick read, the author did a great job of packing all the details needed in.

Can't wait for the next one!

This second installment continues on from the first.

It seems to speed up in this book and there is alot more going on, with more twists and turns.

I feel like there is a guessing game here and you think its one person only to change your mind as you read on.

I cannot wait to read the next book to see what happens next.
