This book is pretty cool. There are objects separated by color, then by shape, then it has, opposites, pairs and sizes. It's pretty great because it goes beyond the typical counting or ABC book which really only teaches one thing and this book teaches a whole variety of things. I really like the pictures because they are crisp and brightly colored photographs. Every page is really eye-grabbing and will keep the attention of a toddler or very young child. I like it because it has things that are not what is in every one of these books, but this is also a drawback. It has some things in it that I think are a little beyond what a very small child will understand, like quiche for as an example of the diamond shape. It might be a little confusing for a parent to try to explain what some of the things are, but in general, they are things a toddler will understand.

These are one of those photograph books designed to help toddlers learn vocabulary and build reading skills. The reason I like this one so much is that it goes a step further and also introduces many needed Kindergarten skills such as opposites and 3D objects. Great addition to any children's library.
