Assigned to protect his best friend’s sister, a battle-hardened operative must break every rule in the book to keep her—and his heart—safe in this pulse-racing romantic suspense novel by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin.

Audrey Langston is done with love. After heartbreak, betrayal, and secrets that shattered her life, all she wants is peace—and to raise her son in safety. But when a violent home invasion rips that fragile calm apart, she’s thrust into a web of shadowy enemies, where someone is watching her. Hunting her. And the threat may be tied to a past she thought she’d escaped.

Alejandro Rodriguez doesn’t trust easily, not after the woman he once loved nearly killed him. Which is why protecting Audrey should be just another mission—the problem is, it’s personal. She’s not only his team leader’s newly discovered sister, but she’s also the woman he’s spent the last two months trying to resist.

As danger closes in and buried lies come to light, the lines they’ve drawn begin to blur. Passion ignites, trust is tested, and every step takes them deeper into a deadly game.

In a world where nothing is as it seems, their intense connection may be the only truth left…if it doesn’t destroy them first.

Can't believe I am doing this with a Brittney Sahin book but I am dnfing.

I don't like how the MFC after two failed marriages that ended terribly, one of them barely a year ago and she's already has her knickers twisted when it comes to her brother's best friend. She literally saw him for barely 2 weeks, 2 months ago, and she already fantasises about him, can't stop staring at him or act the fool in his presence.

She sounds like someone who needs constant attention, adamant on making bad decisions and cannot control her urges. Not my kind of MFC.

Not to mention that it was insta love for the MMC as well. This coming from a man who was betrayed by his ex wife whom he loved and almost died at her hand. He should be skeptic, hesitant, suspicious and distant. Instead, he is acting like a besotted fool.

And what is worse, the MMC needs to work side by side with the MFCs first ex while both are trying to mark their territory and her having inner thoughts like "great, they've both seen me naked!"... 🙄

After a spectacular first book in the series, this one leaves much to be desired.

If Romantic Suspense is your cup of tea, you won't want to miss this book!

The author kept me guessing with the twists and turns and bad guys that kept turning up like a bad penny.

The romance played upon the brothers best friend/ protector angle. However, it wasn't the usual complications that made you wonder if the main characters were going to work out. The characters were well developed, complete with prior relationship baggage. It all made the story feel real.

Normally, I say that Brittney Sahin books can be read as a stand alone. However, I do feel like this book you would benefit from reading Against All Odds first. You will just understand some of the other characters better.

Not the best!

This book was too long and boring. I have read many books by this author, awesome books, but this one fell extremely short. I gave it a 3 star rating but actually it is closer to a 2.5. Could have wrapped this one up minus 10 chapters - at least.

Can I give this 6 stars, please?? This is the book you wake up thinking about and spend all day wishing you could read instead of working! The characters were flawless, the plot was intriguing, and the pacing was perfect.
Aubrey and Alex are the couple everyone will root for—the perfect example of how sometimes the third time really is the charm! I love how Brittney keeps her books relevant to modern day with references to things like AI, while still keeping the grounding of an age-old love story. And the cameos! Brittney wove in past characters seamlessly; getting to visit them was such a treat and made my heart so happy.

Once again this author delivers a page turner and a read that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Alejandro, aka Alex, the man who was shot by his ex on their last mission, vows never to be vulnerable with another woman…until Audrey walks into his life. The sister of his best friend, a sister no one knew about and over the holidays got to know each member of his team and her newly found brother. A divorced mom who still has a great friendship with her son’s dad and a second marriage leaves her widowed, who is done with men…until Alex.
The two never stood a chance at the pull between each other and when Alex and his team are called in to protect Audrey after an attack that points to her dead husband’s shady past as a naval pilot, it’s not only Delta Shield that gets pulled in to assist as past and present characters work together to figure out who and why they are after Audrey.
WOWEEEEEEE!!!! Suspense, surprises, amazing characters, and just when you say AHA I GOT IT, another twist and then a turn to keep you guessing…..loved it! Descriptions were spot on, the story flowed beautifully with an intricate plot and both Alex and Audrey stole my heart.

This is the second book in the Delta Shield Security series but it can be read as a standalone. I do recommend reading them in order for a better understanding of some of the trauma being dealt with.

I loved Audrey and Alejandro together. Man they have both been through the ringer and kept getting hit with new stuff. The suspense and drama kept me on the edge of my seat. Everytime I thought I figured out what was going on, another twist happened. Occasionally I had to slow down reading to focus on what was happening because sometimes there was so much going on.

Even with all the trauma, new drama, and unknowns, Audrey and Alejandro were drawn to each other. They calmed each other in a way that no one else could. This is definitely a slow burn with the spicy scenes being short but perfect. They had great chemistry.

I know Brittney has started adding more "Faith" into her books and I absolutely love it. With that, you can tell she pulled back on the spice but you still get some. I think with the story it still works to get some spice and intimacy and not full fade to black.

I have really enjoyed the series and can not wait for Reed's book.

🌟 Single Mom
🌟 Military / Delta Force
🌟 Found Family
🌟 Slow Burn
🌟 Forced Proximity

Thank you, Brittney Sahin and Netgalley for the ARC.

The second book in the Delta Shield does not disappoint. From page one you are engaged. We meet Audrey at the end of book 1, learning Ryder is her brother. This story builds upon the brother/sister dynamic as well as the best friend/sister falling for each other. Both Audrey and Alex are whirling from what’s happened (and is still impacting) both their lives. They relate to each other and feel like they are both at the bottom of the ocean, in too deep, to break the past that haunts them both. When Audrey is being targeted, the Delta team comes in fighting, along with her ex-husband Trevor, a former Seal. With all the different clues and bombshells, no one knows who to trust but the team gets help from Hollis, Audrey’s best friend, Gwen and members of the Falcon team, including Gray’s dad, and Bravo and Echo teams to get to the bottom of all the misdirection and mind games. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages! Another great book from Brittney Sahin.

“I was losing track at this point. Whose side was who on?”

I had the same feeling for a good chunk of the book. Outside of the (intended) confusion, this was trademark Brittney Sahin. Lots of peril, a woman in danger, capable men.

Audrey and Alejandro’s path to safety and HEA was fraught. I also liked the relationship between Audrey and her ex-husband Trevor. My heart hurt for them so much, but love that they maintained their love and friendship.

Into The Deep by Brittney Sahin is the 2nd book of the Delta Shield Security series. This book was absolutely incredible! I didn't want to put it down but I had to, in order to sleep some :)

Audrey is attacked in her home by some unknown assailant. She then stays at her ex husband's (Veteran) family inn, along with their son so she can have protection until they figured out who attacked her and why.

Enter brothers best friend Alejandro (Veteran; currently working as an operative). He is sent to help guard her, per her brothers orders. The chemistry and connection these two share is something else.

Alex wants this to just be a regular assignment, protecting his team leaders sister. But being forced to be close to eachother, they are trying to resist the feelings and attraction that are there and growing.

I laughed, gasped, and kicked my feet a few times, especially when the cameos popped up!!! I loved it and I can't wait for the 3rd book!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Into the Deep is a gripping romantic suspense that pulled me in from the very first chapter and never let go. Brittney Sahin delivers a perfect balance of high-stakes danger, emotional depth, and undeniable chemistry.

Audrey is a strong, relatable heroine whose main focus is protecting her son and rebuilding her life after heartbreak and betrayal. Alejandro is intense, guarded, and fiercely protective—the kind of hero who carries scars from his past and tries desperately to keep his heart out of the mission. Their connection is layered with tension, history, and emotions neither of them is ready to face, making every interaction feel charged and meaningful.

The suspense is fast-paced and well-crafted, with constant tension and twists that kept me guessing. The threat feels real and personal, and the sense that someone is always watching adds an edge of unease throughout the story. I loved how the danger forced Audrey and Alejandro closer together, blurring lines and testing trust.

What truly stood out was how seamlessly the romance and action were woven together. Neither overshadowed the other, and both worked to strengthen the story. Themes of trust, healing, and confronting the past were handled beautifully.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with a protective hero, strong heroine, intense chemistry, and nonstop tension, Into the Deep is a must-read. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from Brittney Sahin.

This is the second book in the Delta Shields series and Aubrey and Alejandro''s story.

First off, I say this in everyone of Britney's books, I love that she brings back past characters. it is one of my favorite things that she does. Letting us catch up with long lost friends!

Romantic suspense and Brothers Best Friend... if this is your jam then this book is for you. Tons of action and mystery.

A love a book with strong heroines and Aubrey and Hollis are definitely those type of women. Aubrey has been and love twice and is afraid of getting hurt, but this book proves that sometimes the third time is the charm!

Alex has been in love with Aubrey pretty much since the first time he laid eyes on her but I like that their story unfolded slowly and they didn't just meet and fall madly in love, there was substance behind it.

I'm a huge fan of Brittney adding in more faith aspects in her books. Less graphic intimacy is more my thing these days, I'm old!

I have been a huge fan and ARC reader of Brittney's books for as long as I can remember and I swear they just get better and better. So, if you haven't checked her out yet, you definitely need to. She will keep you guessing and wanting more the entire time that you are reading!

Into The Deep-Delta Shield Security Book
This was the 2nd book for the Delta Shield Security Group. It’s Alex’s turn to find his love. Audrey is Ryders newly found sister that we just discovered was his sister at the end of the last book over Thanksgiving. Alex and Audrey had an instant connection. This new book has them falling for each other all along the way while navigating things like Ryder being her big brother and Alex having to deal with those emotions and worries. Also things like Audrey being in the middle of an operation and now having both Alex and Ryder having big feelings about her being involved in the opp. Audrey finds out that so many people on her life have lied to her over the years and she’s having a hard time adjusting. There are lots of plot twists in this book that take a minute to keep track of. This story unravels and brings in several of Brittney’s old teams that we’ve read about over the years, it’s nice to
Visit familiar faces of the past and remember those personalities. Overall I would of course recommend this book and all of Brittney’s books, but please read it in order.

INTO THE DEEP by BRITTNEY SAHIN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Into The Deep is the second (#2) book in the DELTA SHIELD SECURITY series. Release date: February 24th 2026.

Audrey Langston is trying to settle into a new life after lies, betrayal and deceit turned it upside down. All she wants now is to live quietly and keep her son safe and happy. She’s done with love, done with relationships, done with men.

When her home is invaded and she is attacked it appears that it wasn’t random break in, someone is watching her, so she feels she has no option but to call on her new found brother and his Delta Shield friends to protect her and her son.

Alejandro Rodriguez is still recovering from his ex wife’s betrayal, a betrayal that almost cost him his life, so despite his undoubted attraction to his teammate’s captivating sister he is determined to treat this as just another mission.

The pair grow closer whilst desperately trying to keep their relationship platonic, but as danger closes in and twisted, multilayered threats rise, Alejandro realises that he’ll put everything on the line to keep Audrey and her son safe…..

** Whilst this book is easily read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the first 5⭐️ book in the Delta Shield Security series AGAINST ALL ODDS as it will you a greater insight into the Delta Shield operators and their characters **

This highly anticipated second book in Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Brittney Sahin’s, Delta Shield series certainly didn’t disappoint! What a start to 2026!

I am constantly amazed at Brittney’s ability to weave highly complex yet easy to comprehend stories. She really is the queen of military romance!! I love a book that makes me THINK, and that’s exactly what this delicious read does. With plenty of threads, twists and turns, where every corner you turn another snake slithers out of the woodwork, Into The Deep is a pulse raising, edge of your seat, suspenseful military romance.

One of the things I particularly enjoyed about this book is that there isn’t TOO much spice. Yes, there are open door scenes, but they are tastefully done and used only to show the progression of the main characters relationship. Alex and Audrey’s relationship is a lovely slow burn, threaded throughout the action and suspense, which makes it relatable and believable. None of the spice is used for shock value and that was appreciated by this reader.

Alex and Audrey are a well matched couple, both kind, thoughtful and giving. Both always putting others first. Although there are a couple of misunderstandings between them, their willingness to be open and honest with each other means there isn’t too much angst which is good considering the trials they face throughout this book.

The storyline? WOW! That’s Pretty much all I can say. I love when authors challenge readers, make us think and try to work out the perpetrators. I literally couldn’t put this book down!

I Also really enjoyed seeing characters from previous series popping up and flexing their protector muscles !! You can’t help but get tingles when they are all working together.

There are also a plethora of delicious new side characters, and I can’t wait to learn more about Hollis,Trevor and maybe Eden. Hollis in particular is fascinating and I hope we learn more about her prior ‘adventures’.

I read an ebook copy of this book (and can’t wait for my physical copy to arrive squeeeeee) at just over 400 pages and with a gorgeous male cover I really can’t recommend it enough.

If military romance is your thing and you like edge of your seat action then I recommend you dive right in!

Find Brittney at: brittneysahin.com @brittneysahin for more books and all the delicious things!!

With grateful thanks to Brittney Sahin for an early read of this awesome book. All comments are my own honest, unbiased opinion.

Into the Deep is the second book in the Delta Shield Security series. The author masterfully blends pulse-pounding romantic suspense with intricate character development, creating a captivating narrative from the first pages. It is nuanced, fast paced, and a page-turner. The story centers on the unexpected discovery of love under unforeseen circumstances between Audrey Langston and Alejandro "Alex" Rodriguez. The author's engaging writing style and intricate plot, filled with surprising twists, kept me deeply invested in the characters' journey and fate. What I love the most is friends to lovers and slow burn scenarios between the hero and heroine, who are thrown together in a forced proximity, discovering surprises and dark secrets. Into the Deep is an addictive and intoxicating read and an unforgettable reading experience with banter, longing and tension, and plenty of suspenseful moments.

The cameos of the characters from previous series (whom I missed so much) only add to the storyline and enjoyment of the story.

Audrey Langston, a woman scarred by betrayal, heartbreak, and trust issues, has a clear resolve: to prioritize her son's safety and find peace by closing off her heart to romance and love entanglements. She doesn't want to feel vulnerable or weak ever again. Yet she is strong and resilient. Alejandro "Alex" Rodriguez has also endured his share of heartbreak. A devastating betrayal by his ex-wife has left him questioning his capacity for trust and love. He approaches relationships with a cautious cynicism, deep trust issues, and emotional guardedness. Once fun-loving and quick-witted, Alex is now more guarded. Assigned to protect Audrey—who is not only his best friend's and team leader's newly discovered sister but also a woman he can't stop thinking about—Alex finds his resolve tested. Their connection is immediate and undeniable, yet both fear opening their hearts again. This is a perfect slow-burning romance filled with emotional intensity. When strange occurrences start happening to Audrey, Alex rushes in to protect her. This brings them closer as they open up about their past secrets and become supportive of each other, especially because their mutual attraction becomes harder to ignore. The story focuses on the gradual realization of deeper feelings as the characters navigate their opposing personalities and circumstances. Alex and Audrey gravitate toward each other and grow closer, their feelings deepening. Alex becomes her beacon of stability, her safe place, with his unwavering presence and protective instincts. I love that this story is not just about a simple bodyguarding job and suspense; it's about Alex finding himself and his purpose after being haunted by his past, and Audrey learning to trust someone completely despite her vulnerability and past betrayals.

This book is an addictive read that will keep readers on their toes with its surprising twists and turns. It's a simple must-read.

Brittney Sahin does not ease you into this book. She shoves you. Into danger. Into tension. Into a marriage that isn’t real until it starts feeling a little too real. And at this point I don’t even pretend to brace myself. I open a Brittney Sahin book knowing full well she’s about to emotionally hijack me, and I willingly hand over the keys.

Audrey has already survived more than most women should have to. A broken marriage. A husband who died before their divorce was finalized. A life she’s trying to rebuild for her son. And then someone breaks into her home and shatters whatever fragile sense of safety she’s pieced together. Enter Alejandro. Brother’s best friend. Delta operative. Professional protector. Walking, breathing bad decision in a tailored suit. The second he stepped onto the page, I knew I was done for. Completely.

The fake marriage angle is chef’s kiss. The slow burn is exquisite torture. Alex fights his feelings like the disciplined operator he is, burying them under duty and loyalty, but every look, every restrained moment hums with tension. And the suspense? Relentless. Every time I thought I had it figured out, Brittney pivoted. Clean. Sharp. Effortless. I was side-eyeing everyone and loving every second of it. The cameos were woven in like little gifts for longtime readers, the kind that make you feel like you’re part of something bigger than just one book.

What makes me a die-hard Brittney Sahin reader, though, is the emotional depth. The grief. The faith. The guilt. The hope threaded through the danger. She doesn’t just write romantic suspense. She builds worlds where love and loyalty are tested in the harshest conditions and somehow still survive. Into the Deep is intense, layered, and impossible to put down. Brittney Sahin is, without question, a one-click author for me. No blurb needed. No hesitation. Just take my money and wreck me again.

Once again from the moment I started reading, Brittany Sahin has me hooked in this amazing world she has written. “Into the Deep” is an action packed, heartfelt and thrilling best friend’s little sister, military romantic suspense that was a nonstop story.

Audrey is done with relationships and love. She’s had more heartbreak and betrayal than one should go through. She didn’t realize how deep the betrayal went with her husband who had been killed until it threatened the safety of her son. Alejandro is also down with relationships when the woman he loved tried to kill him. So now that he’s been assigned to protect Audrey, it should only be a job. But the moment he sees Audrey, things are different. But the danger is still out there despite how they feel for each other and the lines start to blur.

Once again, Brittney Sahin delivers a story that I could not put down. From the moment I started, I was so happy to be back in the world she has created. Audrey is someone that I connected with from the beginning and I liked her right away. She’s caring, smart and is a great mom. Her love for her son shines throughout the story and she was willing to do whatever she needed to do to make sure he was safe. Alejandro has all the alpha energy and is protective of Audrey from the moment he meets her. He was all in from the moment he met her and the pull he had towards her. The burn was slow but worth the wait. Both were hesitant to even pursue anything due to the betrayal that they experienced from their previous relationships. I loved the appearances from previous characters and how they weaved into the story. The action was non stop and the plot twists had me reading nonstop as they unfolded. I loved the ending and I’m already counting down the days until the next book in the series.

Into the Deep can have so many meanings and is such an appropriate title for this book. Brittney Sahin is masterful at creating stories not only with great characters, plots and surprises, but she is also able to reach the reader on an emotional level with her writing that keeps you invested and coming back for more.

After the death of her second husband, Audrey and her son Chase move to Colorado to be closer to Chase's father, Trevor, who is an overprotective ex-SEAL. She’s done with love, done with relationships, done with men. When her home is invaded, and she is attacked, it appears that it wasn’t a random break-in. Trevor calls in her newfound brother, Ryder, and his Delta Shield team to help investigate and protect Audrey and Chase.

Alejandro (Alex) is still recovering from his ex-wife’s betrayal, a betrayal that almost cost him his life. He wonders if he will ever be able to love and trust another woman again. Then he meets Audrey, during Christmas at Ryder's house, and he feels an instant attraction to her, but she is off limits, not only because she is Ryder's sister but also because he is not sure he can open his heart to another woman.

This is a love story with slow-burning romance, suspense and plot twists that you don't see coming. The banter between the characters, the camaraderie and love they have for each other can be felt. Brittney also brings in familiar faces from the other books/series in her universe to lend an assist, and I love to see characters used outside their own series.

I cannot wait for book 3. I think Reed's book is going to have the best banter and humour out of the three books!!!

🎹 Into the deep - ARC Edition 🎹

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@brittneysahin did it again because Into the Deep absolutely wrecked me 😭 I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down. I’ve already read this book multiple times since I received it because I wanted my review to be as perfect and honest as possible and I already know I’ll be rereading it the second my paperback arrives ! 🤩

Audrey and Alex? I was DONE for 🫠 The slow burn was slow-burning in the best possible way. Forced proximity, friends-to-lovers tension, stolen looks, quiet moments that say everything without words. The longing was SO real. Audrey is strong, fiercely protective of her son, and so emotionally layered. And Alex? All that guarded, protective, alpha energy with a soft center he refuses to acknowledge. The way he becomes her safe place had me melting🫠

The romance hits hard, but the suspense? Next level. The twists had my brain spiraling 🤯 The danger feels real, the stakes are high, and the tension never lets up.

And can we talk about the cameos?! It's always my favorite part 🥰 Seeing familiar faces from other series felt like the biggest hug🥹 I love when Brittney’s worlds collide, it adds so much depth and makes everything feel bigger and more connected.

Beneath all the action, it’s about healing, trust, second chances, and learning how to open your heart again. Alex and Audrey’s journey felt earned, raw and I just absolutely loved it !

Once again, Brittney proves why she’s an auto-buy author for me. I’m already desperate for the next book. I am not ready for what’s coming next between Reed and Hollis👀

Thanks so much to @brittneysahin for having me on her ARC Team 🩷

OVERALL: 🌟🌟.5/5
•Storyline: ⭐️⭐️/5
•Spice Level: 🌶.5/ 5

•Trope: Military Romance, Workplace Romance. All the banter, He falls first, Opposites attract, Fake dating.

• THOUGHTS:
Okay... this may be a long one and I am terribly sorry.

Let's start with what I did love about this book.
I was hooked from the prologue, and to be very honest I was doing well with this story. I was enjoying the mystery unfolding. I was enjoying the tension building between Audrey and Alejandro. I liked getting to know the characters and understanding who they were. There was a lot of action going on. I was looking past some of the more cringy aspects of what happened. Then it went sideways.... again.
I don't even know what to say. I think maybe the shift happened around the 45% mark. I have enjoyed this author for so long. But her writing has shifted and I find her books extremely wordy, and unnecessarily long. I was planning on just being negative, infact I had it all written out with everything that I was struggling with, and let me tell you it was LONG. I have since changed my mind with how negative I am choosing to write this review, and instead I will say, Brittney Sahin's books are no longer books I have come to enjoy. I wish this author the very best and all the successes! She is truly a gem to interact with on SM.
This will be my last review for this author. As I have discovered my reviews and my opinions have become very negative and that isn't fair to the author. I wish this author all the luck.

I finished this book days ago, but have been sitting on my thoughts so I could put them together a little more clearly.

First, the amount of hurt and healing Alex and Audrey go through in this book gives hope to anyone who thinks love is just impossible. I know it's fiction, but that's what these stories are supposed to do... give us hope and let us see light in our own situations. To give us something that we can relate to, even in the worst of times. So, to know that they can overcome some terrible things, even Alex being shot by his ex-wife, is a comfort to know that there's design out there for us to find someone who makes our souls sing.

Second, the angst and slow burn of these two is very sweet. It's small things, little comments, and tender kisses that lead to a strong bond between Alex and Audrey.

Third, who doesn't love a forced proximity/fake marriage story? They always end with a greater appreciation between the characters. I'm totally here for it. Alex is obviously the first to finally admit his feelings. No back-and-forth, should I or should I not, but decisive and I prefer that over poor communication or no communication, misunderstandings, and the YA type writing. That's something I truly appreciate about Brittney's writing. Characters say what they mean and go for it.

Well... guess that's really just it. Brittney wrote another great couple in the series, gave us a few cameos from some of our favorites from the past, and let us just enjoy a great suspense story that ends with an HEA and two people finding true love after so much hurt.

I loved Alex, Audrey and everyone else!

Brittney is one of the best writer's at bringing together other characters into her latest book. And you don't really need to read previous stories to enjoy the current one, but you miss out on some great tales that she wove.
Audrey has not had luck with husbands, living or dead. Alejandro has only had one wife. She is still alive but she did shoot him so he was 'gone' for a couple minutes, so there is that. And Audrey and her son are trying to start a new life, in a new place with an old ex nearby.
Cue chaos. Audrey is attacked. Her newly found brother Ryder is riding to rescue and sending help when her ex husband Trevor sends out the bat signal! Reenter-Alex. Smokin' hot (but all Brittney's men are 💥 fire). And now we getting what we love with her stories! And we learn so many side characters who are old friends of ours or are not as they seem. And there are badass women in these books! Whether they realize it themselves or till they are forced to bring it forth
Characters from some of her other books weave in and around our current story. Brittney is so good at keeping some of our favorites popping in, sending aid, rescues, backup. They've got their 6. No big leaves this time but there is a reference to cutlery. 🍴 (Check out any books Carter is in including his own thick book.)
Disclaimer-this review was written late night, early morning after coming off the book buzz because it had to be finished tonight. So some rambling may occur. 🤷 I can't wait for the next one!!!!

It’s unbelievable how Brittney Sahin pulls strings of previous storylines from her earlier books to spin up new explosive storylines that are incredibly addictive. For a long time reader her books are an enjoyable gift, the opportunity to become immersed in a world filled with big bad operators and their loved ones watching them continue to live and interact. New characters are seamlessly blended into this magnificent world and the high octane storylines continue on new paths full of endless enjoyment and suspense. She builds connections between new romantic partners that simmer with sexual tension and just keep building until as a reader you almost combust.

Audrey deals with seemingly endless betrays of her trust from surprising sources, but she keeps rising to face the next challenge. Her attraction to Alejandro/Alex sparks when she meets him at Christmas when she first meets her brother, Ryder. Audrey & Alejandro have so much in common, but their road to a HEA is fraught with danger, suspense, misunderstandings and the complication of each of their ex’s.

Storyline is like a plunko game, it keeps bouncing in unexpected directions leaving you guessing where in the world it’s going next and what new secret is going to be uncovered.

I love Brittney’s books and each one is my new favorite! Her books could be twice as long and I’d still want more when I reach the end.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

If you love slow burn + single mom + brother’s best friend + military romance suspense… this one needs to be on your TBR immediately. 🔥

In the second installment of the Delta Shield Security series, we finally get Alejandro (Alex) and Audrey’s story — and it delivers.

Audrey is DONE with love.
After two failed marriages filled with betrayal and trauma, she’s focused on one thing only: her son. Trusting another man again? Absolutely not.

Alejandro?
His ex-wife nearly got him killed. The betrayal shattered him — and trusting someone new is the last thing on his mind.

But when Audrey’s home is invaded, everything changes.
What starts as a terrifying break-in quickly spirals into something far more dangerous — a national security threat. Now Alejandro is assigned to protect her… and keeping things professional becomes nearly impossible.

And just when you think you know where the story is headed?
Plot twists. After plot twists. 👀

The suspense keeps escalating.
The danger feels real.
The emotional tension? Chef’s kiss.
Two guarded hearts.
Forced proximity.
High stakes.
And feelings that could either save them… or cost them everything.

If you’re into:
✔️ Slow burn romance
✔️ Single mom heroine
✔️ Brother’s best friend
✔️ Interracial Romance
✔️ Romantic suspense with major twists

Add this military romance to your list ASAP.

The buildup. The chemistry. The unexpected turns.
It’s absolutely worth it. 💥📚

Plot twists whichever way you turn

With Into The Deep Brittney Sahin delivers another great book. It is the second installment in her Delta Shields series. I would recommend to start with the first book for maximum enjoyment. There are so many people within this book that it's very easy to loose track of who is who and who belongs to which team. Nevertheless I enjoyed the short cameos of beloved characters; I just wish we would have seen more of them, but I guess that would have disrupted the flow of the storyline. I liked Alejandro and Audrey - they are well-matched and I think they will make a great pair going forward. The only thing that didn't sit right with me is that they developed deep feelings for each other in a really short timespan and after both swore to never love again - because love always leaves them hurt and broken. The emotional trauma that left them feeling like this was relatively recent and suddenly they are in love with each other. Maybe that's just me, but it made it hard to connect with the main pairing on an emotional level sometimes. Honestly I was more interested in Audrey's ex-husband and where his journey might take him.
If you're looking for an action-packed story with twists and turns and a bit of love sprinkled in between give it a try; if you're searching for the love story of a lifetime maybe pick something else.

Into the Deep is the second book in the new Delta Shield Security series by the one and only talented Brittney Sahin. If you have the time to read the first book in the series, Against All Odds, I highly recommend you do so before you read this book. That was you are somewhat up to date on what has happened already and are familiar with some of the characters. For those who are fans of Brittney’s and have read all her books up until this one, you are in for a treat. This book will give you all the feels and make your crossover loving heart extremely happy. 😍

Into the Deep is a romantic suspense story that will have you reading into the dark hours of the night and blowing your mind at the twists, tricks, and revelations that occur. My jaw dropped at least twice in this book and I mentally applauded Brittney for the mastermind that she is. The love story between Alejandro “Alex” Rodriguez and Audrey Langston is one that restores your belief in true love and the saying that goes, “love heals all wounds.” These two haven’t had it easy in the love department and they were reluctant in finding love again, but when you know you know. 😉

There is so much I want to say, but don’t want to spoil anything. I will write an updated review once the book releases. Just trust me when I say, this book is phenomenal and you need to pre-order it ASAP!! I don’t know how Brittney is able to do it, but each book she writes gets better and better. So go ahead and one click this book and add it to your Goodreads shelf because on February 24th, be ready to dive in to the world of Delta Shield Security!

Audrey & Alejandro

I Know. I KNOW!!! I swore after my last review I wouldn’t do it again. But I have…. I’ve waited till the last minute to write my review. Because why? Because I went back and read it a second time immediately!!!
Brittney Sahin knows how to wring every bit of emotion out of you as you invest your time and emotions into these series. And with each new story you become more and more invested into these peoples’ lives.
Audrey and Alejandro are no exception. There are so many layers to each of their journeys that an ‘Oh My’ just doesn’t even touch it! Finding out you have a brother you didn’t know about, meeting his team of incredible guys, trying to do right by your son, keep a positive relationship with his dad, keep your head above water trying to keep it all together, then out of left field have your world completely turned upside down. It’s a whole lot for one single mom to juggle. Neither Audrey nor Alex is looking for a relationship. Sometimes though, the universe doesn’t ask.
If you haven’t read any of Brittney’s books you are seriously missing out. The world building, the layers and ‘entertwinings’ of these relationships is well worth every second of sleep you give up!!!

FIRST OF ALL, THERE WAS A COSTA BROTHERS CAMEO. SO HAPPY TO SEE MY BABIES AGAIN. IDC IF IT WAS ONLY FOR A MINUTE. 😂

Brittney has a way of setting up scenarios so perfectlyyyy. It's like watching a movie as I read.

The book starts out with immediate action. Then enters the protective MMC. 🥵 The found family (literally, iykyk lol) in this is sooo good. The FMC is a single mom, but I appreciate how well her and her ex-husband co-parent. There was no toxicity there, and although there is some OMD (kinda - hard to describe without spoilers), it's not with her child's father. And she doesn't actively involve herself in that OMD. You'll see what I mean lol

This book is loaded with action, military/ex-military men, suspense, betrayal, a little mystery, emotion, love, and some spicy scenes! Pick it up. Read it. You'll be happy you did!

This book seriously got me out of my reading slump. I was bouncing between fantasy and dark romance because contemporary romance hasn't been doing it for me lately, BUT THIS? Romance Suspense??? Obsessed. It's a happy medium between contemporary and dark romance, in my opinion!

**This is book 2 in a series and CAN be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading book 1 as well!

So what happens when the single mom who’s been burned one too many times meets the guarded operative assigned to protect her, who has also sworn off love? Well, you get the whirlwind that is Alejandro (Alex) & Audrey's story!

🩵 Brother's Best Friend
🖤 Single Mom
🩵 Military Romance
🖤 Slow Burn
🩵 Forced Proximity
🖤 Romantic Suspense

Audrey is the newly discovered sister of Alex's team leader. When a disturbing home invasion occurs, Alex is assigned to protect her, which becomes a little bit of a problem considering these two share some feelings towards one another. Alex’s priority is Audrey's protection above all else, so the slow burn between them is perfectly drawn out.

One of the things I love about Brittney's writing is that it completely unfolds like a movie. The connections, the secrets, the slow burn, the suspense-it's an action love story which I ate up! If you have yet to read Brittney, please I beg of you, make 2026 the year because she is absolutely amazing!

I've loved Ryder & now Alex's story, but I am SO excited for Reed! I called it in the very beginning, but I am claiming Reed ;)

Another winner from Brittney Sahin. She writes our tough alpha males with hearts of gold and the ability to take out the enemy so efficiently. We met Audrey at the end of the previous book; she turned out to be Ryder, the MMC's sister. Alex is the handsome, happy member of the team, and he's drawn to Audrey and her young son. When we enter the story, new complications have arisen, and the team is sent in to protect Audrey and her son and to work with her ex-husband. Sounds complicated? It's really not. What's more important is the story of Audrey and Alex as they fight their attraction and loyalties to Ryder, not to cross lines. The bad guys are persistent, and it is much deeper than any of them suspect. It involves people from both Audrey and Alex's pasts whom they would prefer not to encounter. There are lies upon lies the government has hidden, and all of it culminates in a fantastic showdown. Crossovers galore! It was a delight. I love how her worlds are intertwining and crossing over, which makes her reads so very, very enjoyable and keeps me coming back to revisit old friends.

Thank you, NetGalley and Montlake, for the eArc. These opinions are mine.
