Book 2 in the Triple Creek Ranch series & wow! This book! I absolutely loved Lena & Gideon!
This one is ex secret service agent/first daughter, age gap, protective & grumpy MMC, and a badass/ strong FMC!
The narration for this one by Sean Masters & Avery Caris was perfect for these characters! They brought all the tension, emotions, and yearning into this performance!
This was a fun read, full of so much tension, forced proximity, and absolute heat! I loved the training moments with these two & the added suspense this one gave me. It kept me hooked in and loving this story! The found family vibes from this series is so special and I loved the added heart it brings to this story.
Truly such a great read by Kristen & I can’t wait to see what else comes from this series!

Add Triple Creek Montana to your dream destination spot — Kristen Proby has, once again, painted a backdrop that I want to sink into and stay forevermore.
And maybe, just maybe, find a rugged Montana man with some emotional trauma and a helluva lot of heart.
Safe Keeping (narrated in dual by Avery Caris an Sean Masters) lives up to its name — Montana is a soft place to land for Lena; she’s the President’s twenty-four year old daughter who finds herself in danger. The only solution is to get her out of Washington D.C. and to the secluded ranch of her former protector, Gideon James. She arrives broken and lost, collects her own strength (along with Gideon’s heart), and sketches her own portrait of happiness.
Lena is voiced by Avery Caris and it was everything I expected (I’ve been patiently waiting for this story since the end of book one!). Lena is young, and has come into her womanhood under her veil of her mother’s presidency. There is a level of jaded maturity in Avery’s voice, matching how I picture Lena off the page — she’s craved, but never had, a normal life. Her desire for Gideon is unrequited love meets trauma bond….and a healthy dose of female hormones.
Avery brings Lena to life and leads her to love in such a beautiful way. I really loved the interactions between Willow and Avery — this is a beautifully blossoming female friendship that was integral to the story.
Gideon piqued my curiosity in book one, and he stands proudly next to Ryker in my Montana heart of hearts - I wouldn’t be able to choose between the two. Sean Masters matches Gideon’s energy beat for beat - a man who found his family as a teenager on a ranch and as an adult who left his purpose behind in Washington D.C. Sean gives Gideon a guarded edge — the man does not want to be attracted to Lena so powerfully and wrestles with this guilt in Sean’s vocal performance.
My favorite Sean performance in this is when he is having conversations with Willow; heartfelt, hurt, and hilarity are a history of love between this found family version of “brother” and “sister”.
Kristen has taken on emotional damage and second chances in a way that had me loving the forbidden “bodyguard” romance — the mutual pining is impossible to ignore and Avery and Sean are in perfect step as they navigate the story together.

this story was everything to me and more! if you are like me and constantly rewatch my date with the presidents daughter, chasing liberty, and first daughter- this fits the vibe! I truly could not put this book down. we got to see a small glimpse of Gideon in Safe Haven and I instantly knew I was going to love his story. Gideon had a rough childhood and that is how he found himself at the Triple Creek Ranch. I loved how we got to see more of the dynamic of him, Willow, and Ryker. Lena is the president's daughter and she has her own set of ptsd/trauma that we get to see her learn how to come to terms with. I love how down bad they both were for each other. for Gideon it was super forbidden since he was one of the people protecting her. as for Lena, she had such a crush on him (honestly me too sis) but there was an age gap and sooo forbidden. she becomes in danger and then is sent to the ranch to hid out. I loved seeing Gideon teach her how to defend herself and push her to new limits. we got to see flashbacks from the past and the accident that leads to Gideon retiring from the secret service and how to all went down. seeing them cave to their obvious attraction for one another made me secretly cheer them on. I love nothing more than a man who will lay their life on the line for their girl (in this case literally). there was so much character growth for both of them individually and I ate that up. I truly could not love this story more and I will be re-reading so so soon!

I thought I loved Willow and Ryker, but oh my god, Lena and Gideon were just pure perfection 😩💖
He was her bodyguard five years ago, because she’s de daughter of the president, but when Gideon got hurt protecting her, he had to leave his job at the Secret Service and went to his family ranch in Montana, now after all those years, Lena was in danger again so her mother made the decision to send her with Gideon so he can protect her while they try to catch the people who wanted to hurt her 🙂↔️✨
And front the first moment they saw each other again, the tension was there and oh my god, I loved ever second of it, I loved the fact that Lena only felt safe next to Gideon, and I loved the way he was always taking care of her but also training her so she could keep herself safe, not because he wouldn’t burn the entire world for Lena, but because he knew she would felt even better knowing she could kick some ass too, I loved how they manage to help heal each others feelings, because Gideon gave Lena all the love she never knew growing up, and Lena gave Gideon all the peace he never was able to get, I love their dynamics and chemistry, and of course all the things Gideon did for her had me swooning 😩💖
My heart hurt for Lena the first time she met Willow, and I love my girl Wills and I understood why she didn’t liked Lena in the beginning, but that doesn’t mean my heart was happy with that 👀
This books is now one of my favorites because Lena literally craved for love and belonging and peace and family, and Gideon gave her all of that and more without even trying and it was so beautiful to read 💖
And yes I’m sad because I don’t want to say goodbye to this characters and to Triple Creek Ranch because I love them all so much 😭💖 and I really wish we can have someday an Aiden’s book 🙈

I genuinely could not put this down! Kristen Proby nails romance with high-stakes tension in this small town once again.
This had some of my favorite internal dialogue from a male main character in a long time. He is so funny without trying to be, but also deeply intense in that way where you can feel the yearning. The way he wants to protect Lena while also completely devouring her… yeah, I ate that up.
And Lena!! I loved her. Her vulnerability felt so real, especially that underlying loneliness and just craving to be loved. It made everything between them hit harder.
The suspense is there, but it really takes a backseat to the push & pull between these two. And when they finally give in… fireworks. The tension pays off in the best way.
The banter is great, but what really stood out to me was the emotional connection. Also loved seeing Lena & Willow go from a rough first meeting to becoming so close. That kind of female friendship arc always gets me.
Kristen Proby just does this so well. Her worlds are always immersive & hit that perfect mix of romance, tension, & a little danger. It’s why her books always stick with me.
🎧 Now let's talk about the audiobook! So freaking good!! The dual narration by Sean Masters & Avery Caris absolutely elevated this. Sean Masters especially!! I need more of him immediately.
If you're a lover of romantic suspense where the chemistry is front & center, with a protective, slightly obsessed MMC & a heroine you just want to hug, this is it. I can't wait for the next book!!!

This had some of my favorite internal dialogue from a male main character in a long time. He is so funny without trying to be, but also deeply intense in that way where you can feel the yearning. The way he wants to protect Lena while also completely devouring her… yeah, I ate that up.
And Lena!! I loved her. Her vulnerability felt so real, especially that underlying loneliness and just craving to be loved. It made everything between them hit harder.
The suspense is there, but it really takes a backseat to the push & pull between these two. And when they finally give in… fireworks. The tension pays off in the best way.
The banter is great, but what really stood out to me was the emotional connection. Also loved seeing Lena & Willow go from a rough first meeting to becoming so close. That kind of female friendship arc always gets me.
Kristen Proby just does this so well. Her worlds are always immersive & hit that perfect mix of romance, tension, & a little danger. It’s why her books always stick with me.
🎧 Now let's talk about the audiobook! So freaking good!! The dual narration by Sean Masters & Avery Caris absolutely elevated this. Sean Masters especially!! I need more of him immediately.

I couldn't wait to read Safe Keeping after all the sneak peaks about Gideon and Blackbird. So when this book dropped in my Kindle I forgot all my adult responsibilities and dive in Gideon and Lena's story. Let's just say I loved that code name for Lena but the nickname was so good. She had a teen crush on him while he was her detail and did everything to keep her safe. And that's the reason for his career change. I loved it that the ranch was his home and work base. And then all of a sudden he has to protect Lena again. And this time is so much different than before. And she's not a teen anymore. Let's just say that the tension and the mutual pinning were chef's kiss. And they were pure fire together and so good for each other. And he helped her build her confidence and to stand up for herself. The witty banter was so good but that emotional connection between them run deep. Loved it that he started training her and Lena was such a baddie. But... I didn't liked Willow's reaction one bit but she protected her brother so that's understandable. And then they become besties and that was sweet but not so simple. That suspense line that run through the story was so good. And for once I loved it that I could guess some of it. That last couple of chapters broke my heart and then put it back together. That ending was amazing. And I loved that part with the painting, that one little bit of it melted my heart. Now if you didn't started reading the Triple Creek Ranch series what are you waiting for? Go get it!

Ever since the ending of book one I have been dying for Gideon's story! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Lena and Gideon were perfect!
First can we talk about these tropes?? Secret Service Agent and the First Daughter?! Forbidden on a whole new level!! Gideon was hurt four years ago and unable to continue as an agent for Lena. Now she is in trouble and the President called Gideon to protect her until the treat was handled. They hide out at his home in Montana and the forced proximity and training becomes to much to handle! The chemistry and tension was so freaking good! I loved how protective Gideon was of Lena but also that he wanted to train her to fight for herself! He was so supportive of her dreams and I loved how he pushed her to reach for them. Their push and pull banter was fantastic and they had such a beautiful emotional connection. The found family in this one is so special and I loved it. And the ending was my favorite part! The painting! Cue the tears!! One of my favorite Kristen books to date!
AUDIO: This was narrated by Sean Masters and Avery Caris and they were perfect for these characters!! The tension, the yearning, the chemistry! It was brought to life! I opened Safe Keeping excited to see if he would be able to complete his mission of protecting Blackbird, the first daughter, or would he find a new purpose.
Four years after Gideon's retirement from Secret Service everything changes. Lena, the first daughter, is in danger. A kidnapping has been foiled but the complications are overwhelming. The author had my mind all over the place. I really, really needed to know what was going on. Was Lena still in danger? Did Lena's latest close encounter trigger her? What would all of this do for Gideon?
When the pages started steaming; I hoped the problem would never be solved. Forget the age gap or that Gideon was supposed to be protecting her. The chemistry between the two of them had me swooning, drooling and excited for every page flip.

I knew when I read about Gideon in Safe Haven that I will love his book and safe to say (no pun intended) that I was right. I immersed read this and the audiobook narrators Avery and Sean did amazing. They perfectly embody the characters through their voices and made the listening experience great.
I love the premise of the story. We meet Gideon, broody and grumpy ex-Secret Service detail to Lena, the President's only daughter. These two share a life changing experience and connection and when Lena's life is once again threatened, Gideon took her in for "safe keeping". Attraction and passions spill over and we see their love story unfold. I liked both Lena and Gideon. I like that even though there is a clear age gap, it was not the focus of the story besides a couple of ribbing and jokes about it. Love how the author matured Lena after the incident. I love protective and jealous Gideon - showed his layers beyond his natural broodiness. I enjoyed Aiden, Ryker and Willow (not so much in the beginning 😒). I appreciate the conflict in the third act - it's dramatic enough for the pause. I wish there wasnt a big switch up with Lena's parents (going from threatening to then being all accepting). Spice is not too much but when it's on, it's spicy 🌶️.

Triple Creek Ranch is the series to read! This is book two and I am all in!! Gideon had a tough childhood and then he found a family. A family that loved him and taught him how to protect his family. Then he was a professional protector and he was hurt ..bad. But it’s one of those things that’s always in the back in your head. Lena was young when her mom became the president. She gave the secret service a hard time and one man paid for her behavior…and now she needs his help. Because she is in danger and needs his protection. Gideon and Lena are reunited and boy do these two have beyond sassy banter…and chemistry that will burn any kindle within minutes…because this book was hot! As these two spend time together they have a lot to work on. Because they need to get over what happened in the past so they can figure out if they can have a future. This is a well layered read with a lot going on and I was here for it. The characters had great depth and definitely brought the drama and told a heck of a story. A story about second chances, figuring out your destiny and everything in between. I loved how protective he was of her…talk about swoon worthy. Then there is the side characters giving there two cents and truly being a big part of this amazing story. I am Truly loving this series and I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next.

I have decided, I want Gideon to be my bodyguard. The way these two banter is amazing. Her calling him Big Guy and him calling her Rebel. A few years after Gideon left his job in protecting the First Daughter (Blackbird), he is called by the President telling him that she needs him to protect Lena again. The only choice he has is to take her to his house on the family ranch. These two are holding so much back when it comes to the other because both believe that they aren’t enough for the other. But it was so much fun to listen to them voiced as Avery Caris as Lena and Sean Masters as Gideon as they were perfectly casted. Lena is perfect for Gideon. She gives him a breath of fresh air that he never really had. He might have had a difficult childhood, but the man went into the service and then found his way to the Secret Service. I love that we get to really know these two in a way that allows them to become even more for the other. It is both of them fighting the chemistry. There is something about watching the super, big strong guy falling so hard for the one female he isn’t supposed to. I seriously am just here for these two figures out how perfect the other is and the banter that made me laugh so much. Seriously makes me giggle thinking about the conversations. Kristen managed to give us yet another truly phenomenal read.

Lena and Gideon's story was utter perfection. I loved it.
Safe Keeping was swoony, sweet, sexy, steamy and just overall a fun and sassy read that packed emotion. I enjoyed it immensely. It drew me in from page one, well really it drew me in from the previous book because I was beyond excited to get my hands on Gideon's story after reading Safe Haven. His book didn't disappoint at all, hello tatted bodyguard, grumpy and growly with a heart that melts only for the heroine *cue the swoons* I really loved how protective he was of Lena and I loved that she was feisty and sassy. Their banter was awesome. I loved the back and forth between them as well as the tension between. Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved the way the suspense element was woven into the story. Even though I figured it out before it was revealed it did not take away from my overall enjoyment.
Avery Caris and Sean Masters as per usual did an amazing job. I love Sean Masters voice, the deep, dark texture of it. He is always a joy to listen to as is Avery Caris. I truly enjoyed listening to them masterfully bring this book to life. I loved how they voiced these characters and their emotions. They embodied Lena and Gideon to a T.
Safe Keeping was an absolute joy to read. I can't recommend it enough.

4.5⭐ I love this story! Kristen Proby wrote another kick-butt story that I had trouble putting down. So many feels, the highs and lows of falling in love, the angst of being targeted, the disappointment when love is forbidden, and the glee when it all falls into place and their HEA happens.
I had already fallen in love with Gideon in Safe Haven, Book 1 of this series. But in this one, we really get to know him better, and find out what really happened the night his career as a secret service agent ended. But when Lena’s life is once again in danger, her mother turns to Gideon to help protect her.
Falling in love was inevitable, because their chemistry was off the charts! She’s all grown up, and has Gideon breaking all his rules.
I also listened to the audiobook for this story, and I swear, the story was so much better with Avery Caris and Sean Masters reading it to me! These two narrators are perfection. Gideon’s grumpiness as it breaks through into happiness for having Lena in his life. Lena’s frustration at Gideon for making her train. Her determination to make it through the course without failing. The nuances. The smexy scenes. All of it, with all of the feels. It was amazing.

Sean’s deep, warm timbre encompassed Gideon’s “touch her and die” protective vibes, making this man simply irresistible. Both narrators created a magnetic, steamy chemistry between Lena and Gideon that made me melt.

this was such a fun mix of suspense and romance, and i just love a bodyguard romance. lena and gideon already having so much history added the perfect amount of tension, and i loved the underlying guilt and longing between them being equal. the forced proximity on the ranch was absolutely delicious and pairing that with lena finding her strength and independence while gideon tried to keep things strictly professional is just my fave type of book. their connection felt so real and then the forbidden element was elite. just the third act breakup annoyed me.

I fell so hard for Gideon in this book! When Kristen Proby writes a character she does it with a bang and a side of swoon. I love this story and the way that you can feel the emotions of the characters from the pages. But that is the way Kristen writes a book. You can always step into your feelings and roll around while you devour her stories.
Lena and Gideon are that match that you don't see coming. Ther is an age gap and definitely some conflict of interest. But the chemistry between these two is hard to ignore and I am so glad that they set fire to the boundaries. Lena is needing protection and to be hidden for a while and Gideon is just the man for the job. I loved the way that Gideon protects Lena, but also lets her be herself at the same time.
