After struggling to survive and take care of her sick grandmother for years, she’s taken away to an unknown location to serve her sentence. After all, she owes a lot of money to a lot of people…
But it seems that the place she’s taken to isn’t your usual run-of-the-mill prison.
They offer to reduce her life-sentence to a single year. But there’s a catch…In order to be free, she has to take part in the Zodiac Repopulation program, marry a strange Alien she’s never met and give him a child.
Ghauro is green, horned, and way too hot to be true.
Will Melanie even want to leave once she gets to know him better?
OMG, this felt similar yet different from a series I LOVED, so this was my jam, butter and knife! Loved the story, I just wish the tribe was a little more developed, looking forward to new books in a month! also the main character was not TOO annoying, I actually appreciated it so much more because of it!
I absolutely loved this book! It was funny, lighthearted, and spicy. Melanie is such a lovable and relatable character. And Ghauro, I mean look at him, no notes! 🥵 I also absolutely loved this universe and I am so excited to explore it more in the coming books. Laetitia is such an incredible writer, in just a short 150 pages she was able to create such a vivid world that was so immersive. The pacing was perfect, this is a one sitting type read for sure!
I loved the cover!!!!! Love it!!!! Shout out to Cover by Kelci @Kelci2d. I've been on a let the cover pull me in binge. Beautiful!
I like how the aspect of tribal living was written. I don't want to compare it to the Maasai but the chance that I got to visit a village and the way we were taken through the educational tour of the huts etc was a similar set up to this story.
Ghauro went from this meeting could have been an email to the sweetest softie with Melanie and I loved it!
I loved the zodiac sign element incorporation for the species. I don't know/can't remember if it means for each book going forward basically the zodiac is the Alien species name but might I suggest it doesn't necessarily have to be the species name but basically appear somewhere amongst the Alien lifestyle in that particular story? I've just checked again and seen for this one, it's actually the planet named Taurus. But basically my appeal, of which it won't take away from the stories is a difference in where the zodiac name appears, not for all books it's the species or planet name.
Anyway, moving on. Loved the smut! As the author writes we have little plot, a lot of smut and that doesn't take away from the story. Read it for the smut if that's the only thing you want but the plot was strong enough.
There was a bit of phrasing that was off:
lifting his arms in the air in desperation
exasperation not desperation.
checked every inches
every inch.
I would gut you right here and there!”
right here and now.
I hate miscommunication as a plot device and it features somewhat in this story. Not enough to irk me the way it does but enough for me to say girl, you should have told him sooner.
So, great start to the series. Will definitely be reading on.
Melanie is a human, and she is whisked away to space to participate in the Zodiac Bride program - unwillingly I might add - to pay back her debt from when she stone something on Earth. She can either stay for a year, or until she has a baby, with the male she is supposed to marry, or spend 20 years in lock up. The choice is an easy one for her, especially when she is trying to get back to Earth so she can help take care of her sick grandmother. What she doesn't expect is her new husband to be hot, sweet, and possibly falling for her already.
For being a story focused around breeding - the people of the "zodiac" classification are dying out and no new babies have been born in years - I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would. The pregnancy trope is my least favorite, but thankfully there was just talk of it and nothing on page. This is a good start to what I can see shaping up to be a cute series!
WHAT WAS THATTTT 😭😭😭 This was SO GOOD I genuinely couldn’t stop reading. I spent the whole book giggling, laughing, getting mad at the misunderstandings, then falling in love again two pages later 💀 And Ghauro ??? OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS MANNNN. He’s so gentle and thoughtful and unintentionally adorable that I got attached immediately. The romance had me kicking my feet one second and emotionally invested the next. I loved the chemistry SO MUCH and the whole vibe of the book was just addictive. Easy easy EASY 5 stars. I already miss them and my standards are ruined now 😭
I came for the spice because I heard four knots It was immediately intrigued. But the plot ended up being very interesting and there was spice in here that I enjoyed but overall the book was just very entertaining and I would hardly recommend it.
Lovely quick little read ! I would have loved it to be even longer, to dive more into all the human questions, figuring out each other’s little quirks. Can’t wait for book 2 !!
Okay, this was my first alien/monster romance in a long while. I honestly read this for fun and was not expecting anything from it, but damn. I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would lol, I am not going to lie, the miscommunication trope was so so big in this one, but seeing as it was a novella, I can't really complain too much. I personally think it should have been longer because it felt rushed (they confessed in eight days).
I love love love Ghauro and the constant effort he makes to understand Melanie and her wants and needs (bring me a man like that, I beggg). The only thing that made me look at him sideways was how constantly he used submission when talking about sex, which is a more personal thing lol. As for Melenie, I know she was stressed about her granny, but I was happy to see her letting herself be cared for and loved like she deserves because the poor girl has been through (also fuck her stupid ex). They were genuinely so cute together, even if it was more insta love than anything. The part I loved the most was when Ghauro decided to give her a reason to stay before ever trying to fuck her because of how down bad he already was for her. I personally found that to be the cutest thing ever.
I found this book through my booksta when I scrolled and saw a post by the author. I am so glad I instantly added it to my Kindle. The story starts off with a situation that's baffling and hilarious. Human women being bought by old entitled men on another planet and taken from prison on earth which is very much a dying sh!t show of a planet. The FMC is brought to these dbags and she is offered several options the best being to marry the hot as sin green alien and let him breed you and you can go home in a year after having his child to help the population since they are unable to breed each other now. Her husband is like a mix of a sexy green giant muscular alien/humanoid but also very minotaur like with his tail and horns. The spice is hot as a raging inferno and the added humor, the HUGE green eggplant with four knots, and the HEA just equal a fantastic smutty little treat. It's only about 160 pages so a quick read and I believe anyone who thinks this sounds awesome should give it a read and review it because I am obsessed! I have a new book boyfriend for sure and he's delicious!
Absolutely Perfect! Sweet, Laugh-Out-Out Loud Funny, and Scorching Hot!
OMG, this novella was an absolute masterpiece! While I’m already a huge fan of Laetitia’s writing and will read anything she puts out, I’m actually pretty new to the alien romance genre this is only my second one, but my goodness, I am officially hooked.
What I loved: • The Ultimate Book Boyfriend: Ghauro is hands-down the sweetest hero ever. He is so incredibly attentive and devoted that I honestly wanted to jump right into the pages and steal him for myself! Melanie is officially the luckiest FMC in the universe.
• The Perfect Balance: This story has a little bit of everything. There were hilarious scenes that had me laughing out loud, paired with moments so incredibly tender that my heart completely melted. 🫠
• The Spice: And then comes the heat… oh, let me tell you, Ghauro definitely knows exactly what he is doing. 🥵 The spice was top-tier!
If you are looking for a quick, feel-good, sci-fi romance that delivers on both emotional sweetness and scorching hot chemistry, look no further. I need more of these aliens ASAP!
The Zodiac Brides Series was such a fun and refreshing read. The world-building felt magical and immersive, and I loved how each character brought their own personality and energy into the story. The fantasy elements mixed with romance created a perfect balance of sweet, emotional, and intriguing moments that kept me wanting to read more. The relationships felt genuine, and the overall atmosphere gave off fairytale-meets-fantasy-romance vibes in the best way. This series felt creative, cozy, and addictive all at once. If you love fantasy romance with unique characters, magical worlds, and emotional connection, this is definitely worth checking out.
Just another spicy (suprising, I know!) little book with an alien as a main man. I quite liked the concept of this one, even if it was not overly expanded upon due to the low page count.
The idea of Ghauro not wanting to do anything she didn't want was adorable. I love me an alien man who is down bad for his girl from moment 1. His fanily was sweet as well, thank heavens.
Melanie was also as well written as she could be. I understood and sympathised with her desire to just be *done* with everything, and allowed to return to whatever dystopia state Earth is in in her world.
Will probably read book two when it comes out on the 21st, but then again, unsure how I'll do with a MFM. We'll see.
Cute, fluffy and deliciously knotty alien romance 😊. Short and easy read. Perfect if you're in the mood for something light and fluffy.
She didn't enter the zodiac brides program willingly, but who would hold her wish to stay and not return to earth afterwards against her. Girl, same. No pollution. No capitalism or rich pricks. Free food, health care and fair trading system. Community. Handsome and cute mate that practically gets a heart attack every time she gets only as much as scratched... Sounds like paradise.
And the Gemini one sounds so intriguing! A bit like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Can't wait to get to know more about that planet! Definitely going to check out the next book! 😍
i absolutely loved this book😍 if you need a quick alien/monster romance i highly recommend this book
i needed an another book from this amazing author, the first chapter i was invested, Melanie is such a relatable character and Ghauro stop my heart hurts from how caring and loving he is, i love an alien/monster romance where they learn so much from each other it’s so cute
‘If you ever wanted to grab a green bull-man by the horns and climb him like a gigantic tree, this book is for you.’ HELL YEAH IT WAS THE BOOK FOR ME, absolutely amazing story line and the plot perfection
💍-arranged marriage 👽-alien/monster MMC 🏠-forced proximity ❤️🔥-he falls first ✅-green flag MMC 🪢-ing👀😏
This was such a delightful, delicious, spicy novella. I absolutely fell in love with Ghauro and Melanie. Despite the circumstances they found themselves in, their chemistry and just natural blossoming of love was just so beautiful.
And of course what is a monster romance without some delicious spicy times?? I was absolutely blushing and kicking my feet cause Ghauro and Melanie are just too adorable and their exploring of each other was just...delicious.
I could absolutely read more about these two and I cannot wait to read more from this author!!! I just had a giggle and blush worthy time reading this story!
Enjoyed it thoroughly and my only grief is that there is not more to read. I hope this story can get a sequel focused on the Tauri and the MC's relationship. As much as we are warned there isn't much plot, I felt like there was enough worldbuilding that it helped to create a promising story and now I only want more.
Looking forward to the rest in the series, but 100% the Taurus book needs a sequel!
A quick little story about a sweet green alien and his human. It would probably had benifited from being like 100 pages more with more in-depth connection between the two to make it come together more. But hey, for a short story it’s ok. I actually would like to follow Ernesto’s story seeing how he’s gay, but it’s seems we’re going with another species for the next book. Don’t know if that’s the smartest choice, seeing how we just barely got to know this planet and it’s inhabitants.
Great little read 😁 With a dedication like it has I wasn't expecting much plot at all and although there isn't much, what is there is really good. I like that this book will lead us on to the next story. Which I'm very excited to read 😄 The smut was smutting ❤️🔥 it made me laugh that he had to learn about a human females body and how it works 😂 Would recommend if you need something quick, not to taxing on the brain and has good spicy scenes 😘
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I mean it's a cute spicy novella with a clueless but adorable male who's obsessed with his new wife, what more could a girl ask for? Oh and he has 4 knots 🙃✌️
I'm super excited for this whole series and my only complaint is that they are all novellas cuz I could read 100 more pages of domestic fluff with these characters and I know I'll feel the same about the other couples LOL
Such a cute and spicy novella. Love how much the main male character loves his new human female-he's so wholesome. I chuckled at a few moments in this story. I am invested and want to read the rest of this series...hopefully I will see this couple mentioned again. I have high hopes that they will.
