The book had promise but ultimately just didnt seem like it knew what it was doing.
The whole thing was about a plane crash(es), except they are rescued by the 30% mark and she was only there for a couple of VERY non eventful days. The rest is just them sort of....taking a long time to explain nothing.
The pacing was roughhhh. They got rescued which should have been momentous but honestly happened in a paragraph that I legit almost missed and was super vague and rushed through. They spent more time talking about how she broke a nail then on the rescue. Thats just an example but that kept going throughout the rest of the book. Things just sort of happened with no lead up and no true causality, and no memorable fallout. There was no intense emotion at ALL.
The characters were....not so great either. Two of them were fairly alike, and then the one guy who was just the absolute stereotype for entitled f-boy douchecanoe who seemed like he was a narcissist. He was built to be THE 'c0ntention character' and had to defy everyone at every turn for literally no reason at all. He was a lazy jackwad and was like "I'll turn things around" the moment he was on dry land only to do exactly NONE of that. He basically pressured everyone into the situationship then spent the rest of ever complaining about it the moment after he got his fix. But it wasnt for any reason, and there was no drive. It was a very flat and emotionless and pointless switch.
The whole relationship was tepid and bland and just regrettable. They didnt have any emotion or care, they just sort of shrugged and went 'I guess I could get boned, but also im kinda tired, idk". And the pacing for the entire thing was horrendous.
Honestly I could keep going and give more details but, like the characters in this book, I just dont care.
If youre desperately bored then sure this might entertain you for an hour or so. And this is coming from someone who likes pretty trashy books (I do NOT have high standards).
