4.5 stars - WOW! Could not put this book down and finished it in a day. This is the first book I've read from Tamara Tilley, but will definitely not be the last. It's quick-paced without feeling rushed and just the right amount of action, romance and Christian message. The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because I was disappointed with who ended up with whom. But this was a just a personal preference and nothing against the author or book. Highly - HIGHLY recommend this book an ...more

I enjoyed “One Saturday” so much, that I thought I’d try another of Tamara Tilley’s novels and I’m not sorry for it. “Badge of Respect” is a well written excursion into suspense, intrigue and mystery about the lives of three first-responders. This romantic who-dun-it threw me for a loop. Had no clue until the end.

What I adored about this book was that it isn't your typical, predictable Inspirational Romantic Suspense. The author has a real talent for character development. I felt like I knew the main characters right away and cared about their lives and circumstances. The storyline flowed nicely with bits of tense action, romance, introspection, and a crime-solving mystery. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the ending completely shocked me. As some reviewers have mentioned, it wasn't a typica ...more

I liked this book. As others have said, it isn't your typical police procedural or romance. The conflict at the beginning of the story, after learning of the tragedy of Joanna's childhood, was a great way to start it off. It was great to follow the main character as she overcame obstacles and proved herself. In a field dominated by men, Joanna proved her self and earned the respect of her male counterparts. Being Christian fiction, I loved the way the Christian theme was woven into the story but ...more

I was pulled right into this book right from the start! Joanna's life was never the same after an accident took her parents lives. She becomes a police officer and being a woman never makes that an easy job. I was pulled into her life and the unusual circumstances of her job. A serial murderer of prostitutes, harassment on the job, not easily trusting any partner after she turns in a corrupt partner, going undercover, Joanna has her faith and little else to rely on.. Realistic and characters tha ...more

This is my first Tamara Tilley book - it is very well written, believable dialogue and situations with surprises along the way. It is NOT your typical romantic kind of novel and has a surprise ending that may not satisfy everyone but is certainly realistic. We don't always have totally happy smooth lives as Christians. God didn't promise us a rose garden but He is with us always and we can lean on Him. I would recommend this book but be prepared for some unexpected twists and a not always rosy p ...more
