Road To Ruin: A Dark Sapphic Why Choose Motorcycle Club Romance

Rate this book
They were my escape, but now I’m their captive.

I’m not sure what compelled me to hop on the back of her motorcycle and blow up my life — my boyfriend, my job, and life as I’d known it are gone.

All I have left in the wake of that explosive, drunken night is a pile of rubble that looks suspiciously like my ruinous past.

But could I trust the mysterious women who’d made this mess to help me sort through the wreckage?

SPENCER: the hard-working bike mechanic trying to fix the system that broke her.

LEO: the retired military doctor who might just be able to heal that broken bit inside of me.

And DOM: disgraced heir to the powerful Zeus Industries throne. From the way she treats me, you’d think I’d ruined her life. But if whatever I’d done was so bad, then why wouldn’t she let me leave?

One bad choice is spiralling out into a turf-war of deadly proportions, and somehow I haven’t just become Zeus Industries’ enemy number one — I’m also a captive in this strangely familiar mansion.

To survive this threat, I’ll need to dig up my murky past. And the more I learn about my captors, the clearer it becomes that they have the answers I’m seeking — tangled up in a web of secrets they’d kill to protect.

I can’t trust them, and I certainly can’t fall for them. Even if it ruins me.

ROAD TO RUIN is a dark, sapphic/lesbian, why choose/polyamorous (F/F/F/F), motorcycle club romance. Please see the Content Note for a full TW’s list.

Honestly? this ate.

only complaints
- that cliffhanger/ending? criminal
- the fact that Dom knew Kiera when she was a kid/teenager (exact age unclear) which makes the fact that she’ll become a lover/partner in this whole situation at some point, weird
- the shortness of the chapters was sooo unnecessary. The anount of times a chapter would end and then immediately continue on with the scene in the next chapter without a POV change made no sense and started to annoy me for the last 25% of the book

Truly the palate cleanser I needed and I am tired of pretending I’m not a slut for a dark romance. The curtain has been lifted, this is who I truly am. Sign. Me. Up. For. A. Sapphic. Dark. Romance. Always. (I will probably complain about it tho, don’t even get me STARTED on the way CNC is often treated in dark romances. That in particular wasn’t an issue in this book, to be clear.) So pumped for the sequel in April. I will 100% forget everything that happened in this book.

DNF at 83%.

I had thought this was a standalone, since I’ve now learned it’s going to be a series, it makes a bit more sense how unfinished it was feeling. I was 80% into the book and questions were still not answered or even being hinted at being answered. What is the oracle and how does it tie in? What is the history that Dom and Kiera have? And that whole dynamic is odd, because it feels like they are close in age, but again with the secret history it feels like Dom is a lot older?
Why Choose feels a bit misleading since so far it’s mostly just a lot of flirting and a lot of confused feelings. The “straight” ness of Kiera is irritating the hell out of me. I understand that people can be confused and come out later in life, but it’s annoying as hell from Kiera’s POV.

I'm slightly disappointed with this book. It felt way too similar to the interconnected series like the characters were the same but with different names. To be honest not too much even happened in this book and I couldn't feel the danger the main character was in because nothing happened we were told she was in danger but we weren't shown why. Also the illness was so random but maybe it plays a big part in the second book? I liked Kiera, Spencer and Leo but Dom was insufferable just angry ALL the time with absolutely no explanation and she handles her emotions like a child. I get the feeling we're supposed to find her brooding and anger attractive but it's just so annoying like can she not just talk through her feelings even if it's just to explain to her best friends. Having said that I will be reading the second book I hope it just explains more of every aspect of this book really and I hope it's better than this one

Holy hell did this book suck me in immediately! Kiera is SUCH a badass. I loved that our introduction to her is her saying enough and taking her life back into her own hands. I just knew this was gonna be a wild as hell ride.

The banter between Spencer and Leo, usually at Dom's and Kiera's expense had me rolling 🤣 There are so many laugh out loud moments throughout this book, I swear I've highlighted more than half of it! Dom has some explaining to do, she is absolutely keeping something important off the table and I want some damn answers.

The underlying mystery of the missing girls in Valemont really piqued my interest, and I am dying to know who's behind the disappearances...I do have my suspicions though...🤔

The slow burn kind of hurt my feelings because Kiera come on honey, you know what you really want, it's okay to freaking grab it and runnnnn. But, it was also done so well that I was shivering in anticipation.

The hate I have for Gabe and Isaac is probably stronger than the heat of a thousand suns, and I am ready for Kiera to get her revenge. am also desperate for more details on her father's death and how it all ties into the corruption happening.

I am so ready to jump back into the world of Valemont Violence to see relationships deepen, mysteries be solved, and hell be paid.

I might re-review this later depending on my feelings after I read the second book.

So first off major cliffhanger ending, usually I don't mind that so much but the book felt long given how little seemed to have happened from beginning to end. I've still only got a vague idea at the overarching plot. While I liked Leo and Spencer who were both cute in their own ways Dom fell a bit flat. She did not feel like she was fleshed out as a character compared to the others, there's lots of potential there and I am by far most curious about her but all of that was unrealized potential in this book (this feels tied to my thoughts on the vagueness of the overall plot).

I had mixed feelings about Keira's slowly growing attraction to Spencer and Leo through the story to the point I wasn't sure I'd like it but towards the end of the book certain things are said\narrated and done that redeemed that for me.

Very good

Great follow up to the Killer Queens series. It gives major Tricky Girls by Holly Thorne vibes. A straight femme pursued by two mascs who are obsessed with her and one masc who is an angry bully because of reasons from childhood the FMC doesn't remember. Can't wait for book two!

If you enjoy in a book:
• Healthy relationships
• Strong character development
• Subtle writing
• Plot-driven storytelling over spice

This book is NOT it. Look somewhere else.

1) Character depth is absent (motivation is unexplained and immature).
2) Smut is not worth it and it’s imbalanced. No clear consent and/or boundaries.
3) writing and editing is subpar or even offensive (mistakes, grammar all over the place, some sentences don’t make sense as if they were dropped and forgotten, uneven pacing, clunky and primitive dialogue).
Waste of time and money.

Who doesn’t love a motorcycle chick or two… who come to your rescue when you’re in a pickle? Buckle up, kids. Lock and load that helmet pull down that visor and hang on tight, because this is about to be the wildest ride of your lives.

You know when you read a book that’s so good you refuse to check how many pages are left because you don’t want it to end? Well, this is one of those books for me.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Kylie’s books because they dive into the kind of things we are all secretly too shy to admit we fantasize about. If you haven’t read the Killer Queens series, you absolutely should. While this book can be read as a standalone, there are mentions of characters from that series that you'll get to reminisce about and I truly love this about all of my favorite authors, they never forget the OG's.

I didn’t expect the beginning of the story to end up where it did, but of course, Kylie did it again. Spencer, Leo, and Dom will pull your mind in one direction and your heart in another. And then there’s Kiera, the “innocent” MC. She starts out in the book closed off but has every reason for it and you'll find out why. She is almost sheepish, but watching her gradually change after being rescued by two seriously hot bikers is almost like a confidence booster for her. Of course, that rescue comes at a price… and trust me, you won’t believe what that price is.

If I didn’t already know better, I’d swear Dom is related to Xander from the Killer Queens series in some way because, that dominance and power and need for control is well 🔥. The attraction between the characters is perfectly built, and you definitely won’t be disappointed with the spice.

I loved that I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book and honestly, I’m still on the edge because wait............there's more!!! Next release Road to Revenge is April 2026 and it will have my heart doing donuts in some wide open parking lot while hanging on for dear life 😜

Quadruple 1st Person POV. 5🌟 3🌶️. 458 pages
3 Spicy Scenes

I’m a massive fan of Kylie Cross’s work, the Killer Queens series is one of my all time favourite trilogies and I had been impatiently waiting the release of Road to Ruin and it did not disappoint, who doesn’t love a hot masc biker (I have my own at home). Kylie Cross ate and left no crumbs with this book!

Much like the Killer Queens series Road to Ruin is about a group of vigilantes that take justice into their own hands and rid the world of abusers, however this time instead of a hot sorority with lesbian orgies, Cross has brought us a hot masc biker gang. And the damsel in distress is a “straight” girl fleeing her abusive boyfriend, what could possibly go wrong!

I loved 99.9% of this book and that minute 0.1% that I didn’t is simply the fact that these hot masc bikers:
1)drive sports bikes, I mean come on could’ve given us a delicious cruiser, a chopper or even a retro classic, but sports bikes (I can’t get down with that) and
2)I’ve said it before but I need to say it again muscles are great, they’re drool worthy in fact, but why can’t we have a nice buff but chubby masc, put a bit of fluff on them!

Other than those two very personal preferences everything else about his book was the perfect opener to a new drool worthy series and I cannot wait for the next book! Do yourself a favour and read all of Kylie’s work, like yesterday!

I’ve got a bone to pick with Kylie because what do you mean my darling and amazing girl Leo doesn’t even get a real kiss from Keira??? Meanwhile Spencer gets her fill more than once? I expected Dom to be left out until the end of next book but not my sweet girl Leo 😭

Anyway, I’m intrigued enough to continue because I need to know Dom and Keira’s past, and I need more of my darling girl Leo. However, Keira annoyed me beyond reason. Her constant “oh they aren’t good and are bad for me but why do i feel so safe with them” was so tiring to witness.

Leo of course was the star of the show for me, then obviously Spencer. All of Dom’s secrets are intriguing to me, just as much as Keira’s past because she has no idea Dom is part of it and I literally just want that reveal already.

Anyway, the writing was so easy to read and get through. Love the flirtations, tension and build up (Leo’s turn better fucking blow my mind or I will riot). Spice was amazing but I couldn’t let myself enjoy the second scene between Spencer and Keira because I was so mad that they were actively leaving Leo out 😭

Okay rant and review over lol.

There is just too much to say about this book! Fast paced, intense and leaves you getting for the next instalment. In case you hadn't gathered I absolutely loved it. I mean what's not to love about sexy, vigilante bikers.
