There was no option to simply remove this from "currently reading" without moving it to "read" on Goodreads, unfortunately.

I did not finish reading this because I thought it was incredibly dry. The chapters are essentially "here are some APIs in the android SDK. Here is an example of how you can use them."

I was hoping for something that went more into detail regarding what some of these APIs do in the background. For example, an in-depth look of the activity and/or fragment lifecycle, deeper than "this is the sequence in which the callbacks are invoked" would be useful. I've looked at logcat output and see a lot is going on in the system as an app goes through its motions, I was hoping I'd learn something new in that regard.

---

Perhaps my review is a bit critical, in my mind I'm pitting this book against Jon Skeet's "C# in Depth", which stayed interesting throughout and taught a lot of things you might not pick up on while doing regular work--things that are very helpful in regular work going forward however.
