this is book 1 out of 3 for me in the series to have the pleasure of ARC reading.
The way I was giggling from the beginning was amazing! - Tate & Callum meet when Tate accidentally falls out of the mermaid tank to berate a customer on being *naughty* during her performance and whos the handsome tattooed paramedic that comes to her rescue..Callum!
Both their inner monologues when they talk about eachother is hilarious. when the *accident* happens on their date, Tate blames herself as shes known as 'Calamity Tate'. That doesn't stop those two!
This book is hilarious, cute, swoony & a perfect start to this series! Can't wait to read the rest!
This was a super cute and funny christmas story. It was a little over the top, but I really enjoyed the dramatics and can't wait to see what happens next in the series.
I loved that Callum was hit by Cupid and fell hard for Tate. It was also hilarious that their romance was forced into more of a slow burn situation due to... injuries... (definitely can't say that with a straight face).
The group of friends between the characters was rowdy and razzed each other. It was good banter and I liked seeing the big group come together.
If this book doesn’t have you rolling in laughter you might be broken! Calamity Tate is a sweet but clumsy girl who is a dream in the water. After a Pervy mervy starts things when she’s preforming she topples out of the tank and into what she thinks is a dream. It’s sweet, it’s so funny and unpredictable and just a jolly holiday short!
A very adorable meet cute! Tate and Callum are just a lovable couple of characters. This novella had me giggling and I just could not put them book down until I was finished. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ARC Read: omg this was such a cute fun read and I found myself chuckling quite a bit. The EMT & the mermaid. Ugh I loved this short and oh so much fun read. Callum all swoo worthy and clumsy beautiful Tate, they are literally perfect for each other. I can’t wait to dive into second book of this merry mermaids series!
Callum hasn’t been a paramedic for long, but he’s fairly certain a “mermaid in distress” call will be the strangest incident call he’s ever going to get.
Falling in love with the fallen mermaid, even more unexpected.
Who knew such a tiny little thing could have such an impact on his heart, and do so much damage to...another part of his anatomy.
Tropes: Paramedic, Mermaid, Insta-love,
Seas & Greetings is the 1st book in the Merry Mermaids Trilogy a multi-author interconnected trilogy. This 1st book is written by Christina Berry.
This book was so much fun to read, from the very beginning it had me laughing, it was just stunning and enthralling. Tate accidentally falls out of the mermaid tank in order to reprehend a customer on being disrespectful during her performance. And Callum…just happens to be the drop-dead gorgeous tattooed paramedic who comes to Tate’s rescue.
I found both Tate and Callum’s inner monologues where we got to hear their thoughts about each other and it’s just hilarious. And then we get to watch this *accident* happen on their first date. Tate of course blames herself; all her friends call her ‘Calamity Tate’. But I love how it doesn’t stop Tate or Callum.
I do have to say that the chemistry between Tate and Callum is out of this world, it’s hot, intense, and their insta-burn, simmering attraction is simply outstanding. Tate and Callum are the perfect combination and their relationship is fated and you can tell that from the very moment they first meet.
I love that in this series you are going to find a found family that doesn’t stop at the first book and because of that the best way to enjoy this series is to read this series from the first book on.
I just loved this hilarious book, it’s cute, swoon worthy & this is the perfect book to start this series and I am so excited to read the next two books. I really can’t wait to read what our next two authors have to offer us.
This book and this entire series is a must read and I am so excited to see where our characters go from here and who we meet next.
This is the first book in the Merry Mermaids series that spans 3 books by 3 wonderful authors and Christina Berry has written the delightful first book ,Seas and Greetings. This is a great little series of holiday books which has a fun spin on the Holiday season. It is instant attraction between Callum and Tate who meet for the first time in an unusual situation. Callum is at Tate's rescue when she falls out of a tank full of water at her place of work(she is a live Mermaid). Callum is a Paramedic and he along with his partner Bas attend the incident,Callum is new in town and has only been on the job 3 months.I don't think he ever expected to ever come to the aid of a Mermaid. As soon as he sees Tate something inside him shifts and he thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Tate is the same as she looks up at Callum she is entranced by his size, his tattoos and his voice and from there they have a connection. This is a slowburn adorable romance and I loved Callum and Tate together they are so cute and steamy..The towns people are quirky too and it is a place you wish was real so you could visit there. Seas and Greetings is a very enjoyable, funny and heartwarming novella, and I am looking forward to reading the other 2 books. Fabulous 5 Stars.
You will laugh and sigh your way through this hilarious, quirky, and steamy Rom Com. From the very first pages, the story reels you in with a perfectly chaotic meet-cute between a clumsy mermaid and the sweetest cinnamon-roll EMT you’ll ever meet.
I’m a total sucker for a relatable, accident-prone heroine, and “Calamity Tate” might be one of my favorites yet. She’s endearing from head to toe: warm, funny, and impossible not to root for with her fabulous inner monologuing.
Callum, meanwhile, is pure swoon. His injury (ouch!) introduces a clever, medically-mandated slow burn that lets their connection deepen at the most delicious pace. Watching the two of them yearning, flirting, and bonding felt wholesome and electric all at once. Their chemistry practically glows off the page.
The writing itself is crisp and witty, filled with banter that feels effortless and character dynamics that feel natural. The story is sprinkled with just enough holiday cheer to give you holly jolly vibes without ever tipping into over-the-top Christmas chaos.
As the first book in the Merry Mermaids series, it’s an absolute triumph. I’m excited to dive into the next installment and hope there are many more books to come.
*Seas & Greetings* by Christina Berry is the first book in the multi-author three-novella series *Merry Mermaids*. I haven't laughed this hard while reading in a long time! Tate and Callum's short instalove story is truly refreshing and fun—an easy read that I wish were longer. I never realized how much I needed a hot, sexy paramedic and a mermaid in one of the funniest meet-cutes I've ever encountered. The chemistry between Tate and Callum is off the charts—hot, intense, and their slow burn is simply outstanding.
Tate and Callum are perfect for each other, and you can't help but fall in love with them. Their story stands alone, but it is part of this amazing, interconnected series best enjoyed in order, featuring a found family that continues in the next book—hands down a must-read!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book as an eARC from BookSirens and am leaving this review voluntarily
This was such a quick, fun, and easy read! I have always loved mermaids and would love to be able to be one- I’ve had a few opportunities to wear a tail including at my bachelorette- so this book called my name. As someone who is also clumsy and accident prone, I was that much more invested.
Seas & Greetings made me laugh out loud several times and while we don’t get much of the intimate conversations of the characters, we get their inner thoughts and they are incredibly relatable. I partly wish that we had gotten more of characters, but this was still nonetheless a great fun read to kick off my holiday season! As the reader, you follow the buildup with our main characters attraction and physical connection to the very end. In a small full circle moment, we also get to see how one moment can change a person’s life- in an awkward but funny way! 🧜🏽♀️
Seas & Greetings By Christina Berry is about Tate, a clumsy mermaid bartender; she bartends in a cool bar that has human mermaids swimming around. Cool, right? Well, let’s just say this sweet, cute young lady is extremely accident-prone. One day while trying to get the attention of a man that was being inappropriate towards her & the other patrons of the bar. She falls out of the mermaid tank & hurts herself. They called the local paramedics to have her checked out. One of the local paramedics that comes to rescue the mermaid in distress is a sexy tattooed man named Callum. With his good looks & many tattoos, would Miss Tate have a crush on this man that she keeps running into in many clumsy ways? The chemistry in this book was undeniable, from her first clumsy mishap that landed her in the sexy paramedic Callum’s capable hands. Will she land this handsome protector’s heart for being her beautiful, ethereal, accident-prone self?
Since most of her friends have paired off and started families, Goth music and lifestyle vlogger Nicola Saint-Germain accepts an invitation to spend the holidays on a remote Newfoundland island, documenting an ancient Winter Solstice ritual for her channel. Along with her cameraman, Gabe Valdez, Nic senses there’s something strange taking place in and around the quaint seaside village… and Nic and Gabe might not be the first to fall prey to the locals’ eerie and occult practices.
And who is the striking woman Nic glimpses fading in and out of the chilly mist? Is she a friend, an enemy, or just another abandoned soul desperate for warmth and light in the long, dark winter? Even if they can find common ground amidst the oceans of difference between them, how will any of them escape the isolated island… and the unspeakable horrors it has nurtured for centuries?
Seas & Greetings by Christina Berry is the first novella in the Merry Mermaids series, and it’s a funny, heartwarming, and delightfully whimsical start. The writing is sharp, the characters are well developed, and the small-island setting adds so much charm. 🏝️✨
Tate the mermaid and Callum the EMT/paramedic had me giggling from the very beginning. Their meet-cute is chaotic in the best way, and their dynamic only gets better. Their banter is fun, their chemistry is undeniable, and the spice? Sizzling.🔥🧜♀️🚑 The slow-burn tension builds beautifully, making the payoff even sweeter. These two are absolutely perfect for each other.
A wonderful kickoff to this multi-author trilogy—I definitely recommend diving into it. 🌊💙
Thank you to Christina Berry and The Author Agency for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Besties… you ever pick up a book and immediately think, “Ok, this is gonna be fun,” and then suddenly you're cackling over “tit-hays” and lowkey swooning over a tattooed paramedic? That was "Seas & Greetings". Tate is the most accident-prone little chaos mermaid I’ve ever read! She's tiny, adorable, and somehow causing major… injury to Callum’s anatomy. The instalove turned slow burn was sweet and filled with good edging in the best holiday rom-com way, and honestly, this novella was the perfect palate cleanser between my darker reads. Quick, little bit on spice, island vibes, and serotonin-loaded... exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for something festive, fun, and flirty? OMG Besties… this series might be it. Throw it in your stocking ASAP.
This book is sooo friggin cute!! I absolutely adored book 1 in this interconnected series and starting us off is Seas and Greetings and let me friggintellyou this will have you howling and laughing from the very beginning.
Callum and Tate Hays instalove vibe and how they meet is honestly one of the best laughs I've read within a book this year!🤣 But also the underlying care, attention, chemistry and love between these two really will leave you swooning!!
I love the humour. The meet cute. The inner dialogue and the accident is *chefs kiss* add in the tension, chemistry and side characters all play a vital role in the fabulousness of this book. FOR me the way this book is written is truely friggin hilarious and had me devouring!
Callum and Tate share quite the meet cute. It sure is a memorable one. It all started with the "mervert". Tate and Callum are so good together. Yet, they are both kind of klutz's. It was like watching two "nerds" dating for the first time.
There are so many hilarious moments to be found throughout this book. I was laughing so much that my sides almost hurt. All of the other characters in this book are awesome. None of them are side characters. Tate has great friends, and Callum should count himself lucky that Tate has amazing friends. They almost ended up in another horrible disaster. Thank goodness for soft landings.
This book gets five seashells! It is a must read. Even Ariel would agree. Seas & Greetings is a "splash" of a read!
Seas & Greetings By Christina Berry 4⭐️ Book 1 of the Merry Mermaid series all short novellas all standalones. From the very first sent in the book till the end will have you laughing and swoony over Tate & Callum. Tate acts as a mermaid at her local bar and accidently falls out of the tank after try to yell at a customer for doing “naughty” things out in public. Callum a local paramedic, who has only been on the job for a few months, gets a call to come and rescue a mermaid at a local bar. This is a slow burn, but a cute romance that you will want to visit if it was a real place. Thank you Christina Berry for letting me ARC book 1 of the series and I can’t wait to start book 2 Tropical Tidings.
Of course Christina Berry would tackle bartenders who are also mermaids! Okay, well, not real mermaids (they are real, you know!), but bartenders who perform as mermaids. Why would she tackle them? Because she's Christina Berry, and nothing is off limits! The more creative the better seems to be her motto, as is, let's bring on the spice! In this novella, Berry showcases her skills at grounding the reader in the setting, providing a memorable and humorous meet-cute, and giving readers a slow-burn romance that keeps readers turning the page. Calamity Tate is relatable and real, and Callum is swoonworthy and sexy. Another fantastic read from Berry!
Seas & Greetings is a funny, cute-meet, Christmas novella that will have you wanting more of Tate, aka Calamity Tate, and Callum. Right from the start, I knew that Ms. Berry was going to give us a book where we would need tissues, not for crying from sadness, but crying because we could not stop laughing. Tate is the woman who you could say holds nothing back and she tells it like it is, well, maybe to herself. Callum will have you wanting to fall out of a tank to have him be your paramedic. The inner talks that each of them had had me in stitches. Just wait till you read the date scene, where things do not go as planned. Seas & Greeting is the perfect pick-me-up novella.
Seas & Greetings is a holiday novella. It's the first book in the Merry Mermaids series.
Tate works as a live mermaid performer but is clumsy on land, earning her the nickname "Calamity Tate" from her friends.
She meets Callum after falling out of her mermaid tank while scolding a rude customer. Callum, a tattooed paramedic responds to the strange "mermaid in distress" call. It’s instant attraction for both of them.
Their dates are filled with funny accidents and great chemistry. Callum is a swoon-worthy MMC, and he loves Tate for her unique, accident-prone personality.
This is a short, spicy romance with a lot of humor, a small-town tropical setting.
Yep, this story was hilarious and witty and full of longing. Slow-burn, but completely worth the wait and a very specific reason why we all have to wait.
We have Calamity Tate falling for Paramedic Callum, every accident-prone mermaid needs a protective tank of a man to manhandle her properly. These two are perfect for each other in their banter and how they just fit together.
I love the story, and we finally get to see the whole picture from the Fast and Dirty epilogue! Well, Tate and Callum’s story, there’s clearly more to see with the other besties from the Salty Palms.
What a delightful Holiday read! This novella captures pure and sweet love, desire in overdrive, and comic disaster in one tiny package. Like its heroine, the book is short, sweet, sexy and funny. This is the first of Berry's books to really tap into her delightful sense of humor. Several scenes are truly I-Love-Lucy level funny. As in all of her books, Berry's characters are charming and easy to know. They are the kind of folks you wish you could meet more often in real life. And yes, intense attraction and hot sex. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the other two books in the series.
-A clumsy mermaid performer and a charming paramedic collide in one of the funniest holiday meet-cutes you can imagine. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Their instant spark melts into a warm, fizzy romance that’s equal parts sweet chaos and swoony chemistry. Tate’s mishaps and Callum’s steady care create a delightful balance that keeps the story irresistibly fun.
A short, joyful read bursting with humor, heat, and an unforgettable found-family vibe.
Light, funny, and full of charm. Tate is clumsy on land but magical when she’s performing as a mermaid, sweet, quirky, and always trying her best even when things go wrong.
Her first encounter with Callum was such a perfect meet-cute. The sparks between them were instant, and I couldn’t stop laughing at the chaos that brought them together.
The holiday setting added just the right touch of warmth without being over the top. The side characters and the island atmosphere made the story even more fun.
This is the first book in the Merry Mermaids series and I loved every bit of it. This book is full of everything that a reader looking for a good time wants. It's funny, romantic, spicy, and even better short. I love that the author was able to get some much into teh pages, and it kept me reading with enjoyment. Tate and Callum are such a cute pair, and how they meet makes this story even better. I'm so glad I took a chance on this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and am breezing through the next two.
This mini contemporary romance that was a quick and fun read. I mean who does not like mermaids. I will say that this was a 3.5 star read for me. It truly had me laughing and I pretty much chuckled out loud when the FMC said something along the lines of not injure his manhood. This is FMC is accident prone and I enjoyed how the MMC tried to stay gentleman like despite feeling this intense chemistry toward the FMC. Overall, a quick and super funny read.
Seas and Greetings is book one of the Merry Mermaids Series.
If something could go wrong for Tate, then it definitely would. She is one of the most accident prone people I have ever read about. It seems like nothing is safe on land with her. After one major accident, Callum comes to the rescue as the EMT and instantly wants to get to know her better. This was just one laugh after another. Such a fun and cute read. These two were perfect together.
I really enjoyed this first book! I laughed at Tate’s disastrous ways. I loved how Callum was as just so smitten by her that he just over looks all of her walking disasters. Of course he also doesn’t blame her for his major injury.
These characters in this story are all great! They make you laugh and keep you wondering what will happen next.
Check this one out! You will enjoy this and enjoy the laughs!
Poor Tate, we meet her when she falls out of the mermaid tank after seeing a guy do something he should not be doing in public. Thankfully Callum comes in to make sure shes not hurt and the sparks that fly between these two was amazing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this holiday romance read! It had me cracking up so much during the story and the characters were so relatable. I loved how they owned their feelings and how their story came to life. This is the first time reading this author but it definitely won’t be the last!
