Basic Mixing Techniques the Basic Series
by Paul White
(Music Sales America). In music recording, the quality of a mix is every bit as important as the quality of the performance, and potential hit singles have been ruined by poor mixing. This helpful guide blows the lid off the secrets of mixing and explains in easy and illustrated terms how you can create a professional-quality recording with even the most basic equipment.

Pretty good - the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's a bit dated, like the rest of this series. These books do what the "Dummies" series claim but sometimes fail to do: they provide enough concrete information, in clear terms, for a beginner to achieve what he/she wants. Recommended for people without much musical experience getting into recording and for more experienced musicians who haven't played with the electronic side of things much.
