A Little Christmas: Rivi

Rate this book
Rivi: I’ve known I’m a little for a long time but never acted on it.

I’m far too shy to go looking for daddies, even online. Dating sites are untrustworthy. Besides, who would want me? I’m too small, annoyingly quiet and I wear awful, thick glasses that make my eyes look too big. No one would glance my way even if I did get up the courage to go to a club or gay bar.

But then I find out my uncle, Trent Winterbourne, owns a large kink club and has a little for a significant other. How did I never know this before? Uncle Trent is having a huge but very private Christmas party at his country estate in the middle of a Christmas tree farm. This man must know lots of daddies.

If I do anything right with my life from now on, I need to wrangle an invitation to stay with my uncle through the holidays. Maybe then I can finally begin the hunt for my one true daddy.

Briar: I’m an experienced dom and daddy but I’ve lost my fire in the past year or so. I work at a kink club and night after night it’s the same thing. Am I bored? Do I need change in my life?

These days, I focus mainly on work, until my friend Trent Winterbourne invites me to his estate for the Christmas holidays. There will be mostly kink “family” members there, and an exclusive kink party in his secret BDSM basement.

There, I meet Rivi, and my life is never the same again.

MM romance, daddy/little, holiday, Christmas, first time, size difference, cute onesies, age play, age gap, sweet HEA.

Trent Winterbourne is a recurring character in my Little Mister Perfect series and was first introduced in A Little Ozzy’s Secret and also appears in A Little Kit and A Daddy for Maddy.

Rivi has been keeping a secret…he’s a little, but he hasn’t been able to explore that side of himself yet. When he finds out his uncle Trent runs a kink-friendly Christmas party every year, he gets himself an invite. Rivi is a shy little, but he wants to enjoy that side of himself and wear his jammies and not feel wrong. Arriving at the party, Rivi meets the physically intimidating Briar, but as they get closer, he learns that Briar is a Daddy.
Rivi and Briar are just the cutest little/daddy combo! Watching Rivi explore that side of himself with Briar there to keep him safe was amazing. My only complaint is I could have read more of these two 🤣!!!

This was a sweet and oh so delightful holiday romance. The little/daddy kink was just the icing on the cake. Rivi being new to the kink was so lucky to have an attentive and caring uncle and also finding the right daddy. This was a slow burn romance with a little age gap...not too bad but Rivi being young to the kink and innocent might cause some reservations but having Briar as his daddy was just plain ol fate. No miscommunications due to Rivi's inquisitive personality and Briar's honesty...they were such a lovely couple. Very Nice HEA...I recommend.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A Little Christmas: Rivi is part of the multi author A Little Christmas Season 4 series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Rivi and Briar. This is a Daddy/lb story so if this isn't your jam this book might not be for you, but for me it's perfect because I love daddies and littles. Rivi has known he's a little for a long time but never did anything about it because of how shy and self-conscious he is. Briar is a daddy and a dom but is missing something in his life. These two are just perfect for each other. I loved how well these two communicated with each other. I loved this low angst story for the holidays. This was the perfect start for my holiday reading. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book.

A Little Christmas: Rivi by Wendy Rathbone is part of the A Little Christmas Season 4 series by various authors. This is the story of a sweet shy Little who takes a chance at finding a Daddy at his Uncle’s Christmas party and hits the jackpot after going through a few setbacks. Rivi has turned 21 and is living with his mother who is a substitute teacher, and he works as a drink server at a local Indian casino. His uncle, Trent Winterbourne, is very rich and even though they are second cousins, he took care of them by buying a house for them, sending “child support”, and visiting them every month. Rivi is a Little in secret, not even his mother knows. He longs for a Daddy but is very shy and would never go to a club or bar plus he thinks people see him as being too weird and too small, and he wears huge glasses that hide his beautiful eyes. He only has a few Little things and found out about a kink store in the city so he finds the courage to visit it. He finds lots of treasures there but also overheard something very interesting. Two men were talking about his Uncle Trent and that he owned a kink club, Club 99, and he was having a huge Christmas party at his Christmas Farm which is like a luxurious resort. Rivi decided he had to get an invitation to that party because he knows he will be safe there so he calls him, explains that he came out and that he is a Little and that he really wants to go to the party and since his uncle is so kind, caring, and protective he says yes. When he gets there, he is a little late for dinner and he sits next to Briar. Briar has worked for Trent as a bouncer at his club for over 10 years and considers him a brother. He is a Daddy and a Dom but hasn’t had a relationship or played in a long time. Trent extended an invitation to the party and he was reluctant to go but finally said yes and hoped to meet someone at it. When Briar and Rivi see each other there is an instant attraction but Rivi thinks Briar is gruff and scary until they start talking. They spend time doing activities at the farm and go on walks and start to get to know one another. But Trent is very protective and tries to warn Briar away because he’s so much older than Rivi and Rivi is innocent and has not experience with other men. But the attraction is strong so both men talk to Trent with Rivi saying he’s old enough to make his own decisions and Briar saying he will go slow and go at Rivi’s speed and treat him the way he deserves to be treated. It took some time and a few hurt feelings but Trent finally relented and gave them the go ahead to see where the relationship could take them. They shared kisses which led to some hot love scenes and when their stay ended, they continued to see each other and finally said I love you. I really enjoyed this story. Rivi was so sweet and innocent but he knew he was lonely and wanted to find a Daddy and when the chance to go to his uncle’s party came up and he knew he would be safe there so he took it. He captivated Briar from the beginning and he knew he had to have him. Briar was strong and protective and came off as scary at first but Rivi soon learned that he would be the perfect Daddy for him. There was lots of play time, especially with other Littles who were at the party, especially Ozzy, Trent’s partner, and Maddy who was Colin’s partner. Rivi got to wear the new play clothes he got and was able to be the Little he always wanted to be and play with others. Trent played a big part in the story because neither Briar nor Rivi wanted to get on the wrong side of him because they had such a friendship and love for him and didn’t want to lose it. Luckily Trent was a good man and saw that they really wanted to be together and gave his blessing. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories about an innocent Little who has never been able to show that side of him to anyone but himself, a Daddy who had been without a Little for a while, a party at a mansion that brought them together, and after a little adversity they were able to find love together.

This book is part of the multi-author Little Christmas Season 4 series. Each book is a standalone read and this book is the story of Rivi and Briar. Rivi knows that he is a little but he is too shy to do anything about it. He is naive and inexperienced. While secretly buying a few little outfits, he hears about a Christmas party in the country for littles and daddies. While too shy to even go to a club, when he hears who is holding it everything changes. His uncle is throwing the party. So Rivi calls him up and wrangles an invitation for the week. Even if he doesn't find a daddy for himself, he is excited to just spend time with another little. Something he hasn't done yet either. Briar is a Dom and a Daddy. He also works security for Levi's uncle Trent and they have been kink friends for 10 years. Briar hasn't been in a relationship for years. With his burly physique, he always seemed to attract those that were gruffer and wanted rougher treatment. No one equated him with caring and sweet. And that was what he really wanted. Trent invited him to his Christmas celebration in the countryside. Maybe this was a chance to find someone. Briar was tired of being alone. The two meet at supper the first day. While initially intimidated, Rivi enjoyed talking to Briar. He was open and kind. He made Rivi feel safe. As Briar offers to show and explain everything about little/daddy relationships and other kinks happening, Rivi soaks all the information up. Rivi is excited to spend time with other littles and he is comfortable trying things out as he knows that Briar will keep him safe. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from GRR and I am voluntarily leaving a review. As Briar and Rivi spend more time together, you get to see the soft and squishy side of Briar. I enjoyed that. Of course, there are a few bumps along the way before they get their HEA. This is a sweet and fun read.

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS: RIVI is part of A Little Christmas, Season Four. I love it when these books start to come out. It is one of my yearly treats, and none more so than Wendy Rathbone's addition.

Everyone has a favourite trope in the Daddy / little stories; my top one is caretaking. You can keep your brats who need firm discipline. Give me a caretaker with all the warm fuzzies, and I'm there every single time!!! And this book delivers that in spades.

Rivi is only twenty-one, is a virgin, doesn't have a boyfriend (or Daddy), but is in no doubt about himself and what he wants. I loved him so much! Just because you are shy and innocent (in some situations), doesn't mean you are stupid or don't know your own mind!

When Rivi meets Briar at a private Christmas party, he knows Briar is just who Rivi wants. There is a little fly in the ointment who goes by the name of Trent! His heart was in the right place, so maybe I'll let him off, but he hurt Rivi in the process, which was NOT good!

Briar is a marshmallow who wants nothing more than to have Rivi as his boy. He loves everything about Rivi, and is proud from the beginning that Rivi is with him (in a good way). There is no miscommunication in here or unnecessary complications. Instead, everything is discussed and sorted out in a way that suits everyone, showing trust in each other.

This was a fantastic book that enveloped me in a hug from the very first page. A great read and recommended by me.

** Same worded review will appear elsewhere. **

Rivi, a shy and self-conscious little, has long yearned for a nurturing connection but never dared to seek it—until a surprising discovery about his uncle Trent’s kink-friendly Christmas gathering offers a glimmer of possibility. Determined to attend, Rivi sees the holiday as a chance to finally find the daddy he's been dreaming of. Briar, a seasoned dom and daddy, feels emotionally adrift despite his experience. Burned out and uninspired, he accepts Trent’s invitation to the estate, hoping for a change. What he doesn’t expect is Rivi—a gentle soul who reignites something powerful within him. Set against the backdrop of a cozy, kink-positive Christmas retreat, their meeting sparks a transformative journey of trust, desire, and emotional renewal. It’s a story of second chances, self-acceptance, and the magic of finding someone who sees—and cherishes—you completely.

I really enjoyed this story where Rivi’s journey begins with deep insecurity—his quiet nature, appearance, and fear of rejection have kept him from embracing his identity as a little. The story explores how self-acceptance is a courageous act, especially when it means stepping into spaces where one feels exposed. His decision to attend the party is a turning point, symbolizing his readiness to be seen and valued. The dom/little dynamic is portrayed not as control, but as care. The story emphasised that power exchange, when rooted in trust and mutual respect, can be profoundly nurturing. Briar’s protective instincts and Rivi’s yearning for guidance create a bond that’s emotionally rich and deeply affirming. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

This book is a really sweet tale of inexperienced Little Rivi attending a Christmas getaway at his Uncle’s mansion and meeting Briar, the Daddy of his dreams. Rivi has known he was a little for several years, but he has never had any experience sexually or with a Daddy, and he is hoping to change that at his Uncle’s home for ten days over Christmas. When he meets Briar, something clicks between the two of them, and they are practically inseparable the entire time. Briar is so caring and understanding, explaining things to Rivi during the after Christmas kink party, treating him like something precious, answering questions, letting him explore, taking him on a date, and always protecting him and making him feel safe. I really felt Rivi in his little persona, not something that always seems true in all Daddy/little stories, but in this one I could clearly picture adult Rivi but also when he was obviously in his little space. I loved the cover, his glasses really stood out and just somehow made the character for me, I could picture him so clearly. I was drawn into the story from the first pages, and was captivated and engaged the whole time. I think this is one of my favorite Daddy/little books, one I will reread more than once. For a totally delightful Christmas story, this one can’t be beat, in my opinion. Loved it.

I received an advance reader copy and this is my voluntary review.

A Little Christmas: Rivi is an utterly charming festive romance that warmed my heart from start to finish. Rivi is such a loveable character—sweet, shy, and longing for a place where he can finally be himself. Watching him gather the courage to step into his uncle Trent’s world of kindness and kink felt both tender and empowering. The Christmas estate setting is magical, giving the whole story a cosy, fairy-lit glow.

Briar, meanwhile, is the perfect counterbalance: steady, experienced, and quietly yearning for connection. The instant spark between them is lovely, but what really won me over was the gentle pacing of their relationship—full of trust, patient understanding, and those soft little moments that make a Daddy/little dynamic shine. The supporting cast adds so much warmth, especially the protective-but-fair Trent and the playful Littles who help Rivi feel truly at home.

There’s sweetness, heat, and a genuine emotional journey here, all wrapped up in a festive bow and topped with a satisfying HEA. An adorable holiday read for anyone who loves shy Littles, steady Daddies, and Christmas magic.

I received a free ARC copy and this is my honest review.

A wonderful story!

I loved this book! The story of Rivi and Briar is filled with loving family, great friends and new beginnings and I absolutely loved it! Rivi is a little who is too shy to go out to clubs but wants a daddy. A trip to a kink store will have him finding out a bit more about his Uncle Trent. And his kinky Christmas party! Rivi will get himself invited and it will change his life! Briar and Trent have been friends for years and Briar works security in Trent’s club. An invitation to get out of his lonely apartment and back into the world of kink when he isn’t working will bring Briar and Rivi together. At first, Trent is very protective of Rivi and it makes it hard for Briar to get close. But when the truth is out in the open, it will allow Briar to get closer to Rivi, who happens to be the little of his dreams. Rivi’s first glimpse at this new dynamic will bring to him the happily ever after he never even dared to reach for!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I truly like the Daddy/little trope, and this story gave me everything I wanted. Rivi is so stinkin’ cute. I could just imagine him sitting alone in his room, sewing his own adult onesies and dreaming of his perfect Daddy. I’m so glad he went to The Haven when he did and things clicked into place, leading him to Briar.

Briar was the perfect match for Rivi - a completely inexperienced little paired with an experienced Dom who was ready for something different. Their connection felt instant and sweet.

I really like when a book has a character that is possessive. Uncle Trent and his protectiveness of Rivi totally checked that box.

It was also a treat to catch up with past characters. Ozzy and Maddy were just as adorable as I remembered. I had forgotten how fabulous Trent’s mansion is at Christmastime, and I think he outdid himself this year. It’s a magical dream getaway and the perfect setting for Rivi and Briar to make their connection.

I hope to catch up with all of these guys in a future book. Looking forward to more!

Season four? We're up to Season four and Wendy Rathbone has offered us another gem of Daddy/Little Boy love. Rivi is adorable, but he doesn't have the confidence or positive self image to find himself a Daddy. Briar is a little bit more cookie cutter-ish. He's a Daddy Dom currently without a boy of his own. Suffers ennui.... yada, yada, yada. Along comes Uncle Trent, Trent Winterbourne. He's the owner of (shocker) a kink club, and his partner is a Little. Invited to his uncle's estate, Rivi meets Briar.
Spicy, steamy, sizzle. We could end the book right there. But Ms. Rathbone shows us that the pair are compatible. Very compatible. So we get to see Rivi explore his Little side under Briar's care. Sweet. So little angst. Such a bit of lite and fluff. A perfect read on a holiday night.
Here's to hoping we'll get a glimpse or cameo in another Rathbone story. This world of lucky Daddies and sweet Boys is all connected. Another reason to enjoy them, their continuity.
I received an advanced ebook from GRR and this is my review.

"Maybe I would meet someone new. Maybe I could hang onto hope through yet one more Christmas season."

This is the first book released in the multi-authored series, A Little Christmas Season 4. This is my fourth year reading this popular Christmas series and I look forward to it every year. This book was by Wendy Rathbone, based on past history her book is the first in the series to be released every year.

A daddy comes to the realization that he might never find the right little for him. He's looking for something sweet instead of the gruffer types he normally attracts. A 21-year-old virgin little that's too shy to go out looking on his own.

15 year age gap, Daddy/little, size difference, a fortuitous overheard conversation, 10 days at a beautiful resort like estate, found family

This story had all the right elements for a charming, kinky, warm and fuzzy festive romance, but it ultimately fell flat for me.

I'm all for an insta-lust rollercoaster ride to insta-love, but I still need the ride to have some "there" there. The "intimate banter" between Rivi and Briar felt stifled, the intimacy rushed, and the playful spark of discovery and a new relationship never quite landed. Seeing the missed or glossed over opportunities for sweet little moments between the two MCs was disappointing and left me wondering if lack of time or pages was the culprit here.

The story wasn't without some bright spots, though. It's dripping with Christmassy goodness, and it features a couple of strong secondary characters. I especialy liked the Uncle Trent angle. His backstory would likely make for an interesting (and preferably deeper) read.

Reading books about characters that are "littles" are not typically my books of choice. Well, after reading this one, that is likely to change. My heart was full with this beautiful story of little Rivi and Dom/Daddy Briar. This characters in this book expressed so many emotions and I as a reader felt some of those same emotions. Rivi, who fears dues to his looks and size that the will never find a daddy, touched my heart. I loved how Briar who was simply just living his boring life till he met Rivi and suddenly there was more to life, of course it has to be for his boss's nephew. I was all in on this one and am sure I now read to read the other books in this multi-author series. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

This had all the ingredients to be a sweet, kinky holiday read - a christmas tree farm, found kinky family, and a daddy/little dynamic. But the story felt entirely too rushed. I love instalust/instalove, but the foundation of the story has to be solid and believable, and this one just wasn't. I just wasn't convinced that the relationship was actually real. The connection didn't feel earned, and I had a hard time getting into the romance. Still, it was nice to revisit the Winterbourne estate. The setting is fun, the vibes are festive, and readers who enjoy a little bit of soft kink dynamics with a guaranteed happy ever after might still enjoy this holiday escape.

I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Rivi and Briar. Rivi was so sweet and innocent and I loved the pull and connection between him and Briar. Briar was the perfect match for Rivi. He was caring, patient, and helped Rivi understand the community and go at his own pace. I also really liked Trent. Rivi's uncle was protective, but I liked that he wasn't over-the-top friendship ending and I liked that arc of the story.

'As I walked from the room, Trent caught my eye and sent me a quick smile. Then he looked away. His gesture seemed almost insignificant, but it spoke volumes. He was giving his boy to me. The son he’d wished he’d had.
That was a very big deal.'

A cute read. 4 stars

Not enough stars!!! Rivi thanks the day he went on the special shopping trip. He discovers his uncle/second cousin is into exactly what his dreams are made of. Getting invited to his uncles/second cousins country estate, Christmas extravaganza is only the start. Briar works for Trent Winterbourne, he's also a trusted friend. We have had Trent feature in a previous book, he is still super protective of those he loves. Rivi gets to find his lifestyle family and the best Daddy suited to him. It's a super nice story, well written with great characters and I loved it!!! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Part of season four of the Little Mister Perfect series (of which this is the third Christmas book and the fifth book overall) has Rivi and Briar finding each other over the holidays. Rivi is Trent Winterbourne’s nephew with whom he’s very protective and close. Rivi is a Little and finds out his uncle is hosting an exclusive party at Christmas and gets himself an invite. Briar is security and a friend to Trent and also is invited to Christmas. Similar tones as previous books in series overall. I liked how Rivi was really straightforward for a Little and yet so inexperienced at the same time. Sweet overtones, Little/Daddy story.

I really liked this book! This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I read this as a standalone (I haven't read the other books in this series). I loved how sweet and brave Rivi was! It is set at a christmas party and Rory and Briar are just instantly drawn to each other. Rivi is a Little and Briar is a Daddy. I liked everything about this book except for the last scene before the epilogue. Watch out! Spoiler ahead.

Tropes:
🎄Age gap (15 years; 21 and 36)
🎄Daddy x Little

Overall all this was a sweet short read that left me wanting more. I enjoyed Rivi and Briar's story. Rivi is sweet and shy but is ready to explore. Briar is been in the lifestyle for years and has grown lonely. These two are opposites but perfect together. Briar is more than willing to help Rivi with opening his eyes to the lifestyle and being his Daddy. This was a short yet sweet read and I can't wait for the rest of the series.

This was very cute. I loved Rivi from the start and am so happy he got a lovely story with Briar. The set-up for the story was good given how shy Rivi was so it worked out well that he could explore and express himself in a safe environment. Finding a good match for him was an added bonus. The story was pretty light and fluffy with a little angst from Rivi's uncle but he came around after an open and honest conversation with Briar.
Sweet, cute and quick read.

Yay! It’s that time of year when we get ‘A Little Christmas’ stories. I absolutely love these books, so full of wonder and feelings. Here with Rivi and Briar we get to meet some old friends, which is always a bonus for me. Wendy Rathbone writes such lovely stories that her offering is always top of my list as they are one of my ‘one click’ authors; they write it then I am reading it whichever universe it is set in. I am now looking forward to the other books in this multi author series

Adorable and sweet. Usually I'm not into the Daddy/little genre. But, I was absolutely entertained and delighted with this book. Rivi and Briar are so cute together. Rivi starts out as closeted little, and longs for a Daddy. Briar is an older Daddy, who pines for his perfect little.

I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Rivi is 21, small, shy with thick lenses and a Little. His Uncle Trent that owns a kink club invites him to his house at Christmas and a kink party. There he meets Briar, a Daddy Dom and the two immediately fall for each other but take it slowly as Rivi has never been with anyone before. Rivi knows what he wants even if he is inexperienced. Briar hasn't been a Daddy for a long time and is ready for a sweet boy like Rivi. I received a copy of this through GRR and this is my voluntary opinion.

Briar is head of security at Club 99, an upscale kink club. For the holidays, his boss and friend. Trent. invites him to his estate to celebrate. After arriving, he meets Rivi, Trent's nephew. Rivi is new to the kink world and is just exploring his little side. Briar finds his Daddy instincts awakening, and he wants to take him under his care. This was a sweet holiday novella that left me wanting more in the best way.

a lovely story

This was a lovely daddy/little Christmas story with great characters and a lovely storyline. My only issue is it could have been edited a little better, in particular one chapter seemed confused as to whose POV it was, it was marked as Rivi but slipped in and out of Briars POv which was a little confusing, it’s not a major thing but I believe more attention to detail could have been exercised, still a great story I enjoyed it

Briar and Rivi

An age gap book, where an experienced Daddy Dom mets a younger, inexperienced little. To top it off, they met at Rivi's uncles house for his kinky Christmas party.
Briar was Rivi's uncles best friend, so he had to win his approval, but who could say no to a sweet little.

Rivi and Briar story was interesting with a sweet side, cuteness, and a bit of angst.
There were insecurities, misunderstandings, and protectiveness, but also communication, patience, reassurance, and sweet moments.
I loved their chemistry, how they became confident in their feelings, and how all their needs were met.
