Miami bred, Bella Jay (born Precious Rodgers) has had a love for books since she was a little girl. Getting lost in them was a favorite past time but writing them has become a true love. In 2018, with a little push she stepped out on faith and released her first novel to the world allowing her writer alter ego, Bella Jay, to take flight into the writing industry.
She writes spicy & contemporary Black romance books with unapologetically flawed characters who she loves to fix.
When she’s not wrapped up in her characters, she can be found traveling the world, building her empire, sipping on tea or wine while reading a book, and wishing healthy eats were pancakes or cupcakes.
First, I am so incredibly grateful to Bella Jay for sending me an ARC.
With Kookies on Top is a confectionery masterpiece, filled with hot times, sweet times, sad times, and moments of reflection. I'm so glad I read Kookie Dough prior to this because it really helped me be on one band, one sound with Kayadah and Jonel's journey!
Yadah is so completely lovable. She's a smart, interesting, flawed, thoughtful, and at her core, she wants to be seen, chosen, and loved. Even though she has a past of being a side chick to married men, her journey of self discovery and self worth was a journey a lot of young women need to stand witness to. The thing I loved most about this book is that we so often as women are happy to read romances where the men are h00rs and get around—even with married or otherwise taken women—only settling down when the FMC comes around. In Yadah and Nelly's story, they BOTH are this person. And it helped me be extremely sympathetic to how a woman could find herself in that position. Not in a way that condones it, but in a way that ushered in a desire to see Yadah heal and learn and grow.
Nelly is lowkey such a loverboy and the simpest of simps. Long before Yadah started walking that path with him, he was ten toes down and not playing about Yadah. The way it seamlessly went from her working for him, to them beginning to hook up again, to them falling in love was such a journey. The thing I loved most about their love story was how they both worked hard to encourage the other to dream big and held space to witness their dreams coming true.
Don't be deterred by the length of this book! On the one hand, I could've read so much more (and I will be picking up With Kookies on Top: Kookie Crumbs when I'm able to). On the other hand, the length of this novel gave Yadah and Nelly a really natural progression of things. Every character felt well-developed and I was so completely plugged in and rooting for everyone to win. I have a feeling I know who the next couple is in this series and I love that for me in advance. There are some challenging topics within. I feel like they were handled with care and sometimes with humor, which is necessary.
This is truly one of my favorite stories of all time. Read Kookie Dough then dive into this! Black romance, you will always be famous!
Side note: Bella Jay, you win! Yoni is your word and I ain't complaining no more because you ate every syllable of this!
Approximately two and half years after their one week affair in Luminique (please see Kookie Dough), Nelly and Yadah are back in close proximity. And, as hinted in Kookie Dough’s epilogue, Nelly was coming back for that cookie. 🤭
Yadah is rebuilding her life after it blew up between the ending of Kookie Dough and its epilogue (to be fair, Yadah foreshadowed her own downfall in Kookie Dough, but I can’t stand an unnecessarily petty bitch, so FDNandHW). She hasn’t seen Nelly since Luminique and he hires her to be his personal assistant as a favor to his sister-in-law, Kristmas (see Finding Kristmas—not necessary to understand this book, but always fun to have background). Don’t forget—Yadah don’t change her mind and she stands on her rules. Well, Nelly dgaf and I loved every second of that for her.
What I loved: —Spicy, but not smutty. While Yadah and Nelly’s escapades will absolutely raise your blood pressure, they form a legitimate, sustaining, romantic relationship where they have to address and deal with their internal issues before reaching their HEA. And have phenomenal moments of intimacy during the journey (one foot on the headboard and the other on the mattress 😏) —The Delulu: Y’all were in a whole ass relationship by chapter 18 talking ‘bout, “nah, this casual.” Yeah. Okay. *insert why you always lying clip* The emotional check-ins? The strawberry sunset? Don’t piss me off. 😍😩 As a SoFla girly, I was here for all of that; take me to Knaus Berry farm for cinnamon rolls and strawberry picking please! —Dance Therapy: I loved the accurate portrayal of healing after trauma because iykyk 😮💨 it’s a process and even when you think you’re healed, you’re never fully confident in your decision-making again (I’m definitely going to ask my therapist to recommend a dance therapist for me to try it!) —Consistency between Finding Kristmas, Kookie Dough, and WKOT: TECHNICALLY, you don’t have to read Finding Kristmas or Kookie Dough to understand WKOT, but it makes it so much better! —Bellaverse crumbs: I see you Drayton family ❤️ Now. If I purchased 12:01 last year, will the Bellaverse automatically update? ——Tahj and his mama’s sketchy family…any connection to Power?! I’d have to go back and reread but, if so, yaaaaaas! —The Playlist: I don’t typically tune into curated playlists for novels but, I really wanted to immerse myself in the experience as designed by the author. [My bad to the authors whose novels I read without using the playlists!] What an experience! I created a playlist on Apple, pressed repeat, and added the songs as introduced in the recipe. I could absolutely imagine Nelly walking into his birthday party with Grillz playing in the background and Yadah losing her gotdamn mind when his grill blinged. Biiiihhhhhh 🥵💦
I ain’t gon hold you—when Bella Jay said ~700 pages, I was like, FOR WHY?! Again. My bad. She an artist and I won’t disrespect her shit ever again.
If I’d read this book a decade ago, it would have triggered tf out of me (shout out to Jesus and my therapist). So, protect your heart. TW: extramarital affairs, grieving death of family members, fertility issues, pregnancy loss, ain’t-shit-niggas, and ain’t-shit-hoes.
Thank you, Bella Jay, for providing me with an ARC! I’m excited for my pre-order with the finalized cover!
Also—not Jay potentially having the messiest story 😂
First thank you Chef Bella for letting me taste test With Kookies on Top - truly delicious
This Kookie was THIQUE!! But worth every page! It picks up right where Kookie Dough left off. We get to experience the start of their relationship and move and grow with them as they set rules, break those rules and set new ones only to end up exactly where we all knew it was headed because IT DAMN WELL HAD BETTER! Bella Jay took her time baking this one and I ate it right on up!
I wouldn’t call this a slow burn because even when they tried not to cross that line, Yadah and Nelly were still coming in hot. They couldn’t stay away from each other and I couldn’t stop reading it.
The growth for both Nelly and Kayadah was beautiful to experience. Nelly had the most growth between the two but Kayadah’s healing journey is soooo good! I’m sad that their story is over but I have a feeling that Jay’s book will be coming eventually and we’ll get to see more of Kookie and her Kookie Monster, because the way Mariah and his frat brother did him was nasty work and there are some crumbles (you see what I did there) that points to him being up next.
This story has plenty of spice but not freaky spice (there’s a difference). Both of them were real delusional at times because they were definitely in a relationship before they claimed they were. And they were terrible at hiding it lol! However, I hated the way Kristmas initially reacted when she found out- yes she explained why she reacted that way but whew, I wanted to choke her. I loved the check ins because they were needed. After what Yadah went through previously I was happy they did those because I think Nelly needed those check-ins as much as she did. I also truly enjoyed the internal thoughts because it was realistic and relatable. The things Kayadah said internal mirrored what I thought. This book made me laugh, nod my head in agreement, think about the gems Gracie (the therapist) was dropping and even shed a few tears. I don’t often cry at books but there was a part that made me tear up.
Bottom line- Bella Jay did not miss with this one and it was worth evey page!
If you want to laugh and rub your feet together, this is the perfect read for you. This was spicy, hilarious, heartbreaking, and drama filled. Everything you are looking for in a good read will be in this book.
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. One moment, I was smiling from ear to ear, and the next, I was laughing with tears in my eyes. Some scenes had me feeling hot and bothered, all while sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for a happily ever after.
Sidenote: Ms. Bella Jay, how do you come up with this stuff? I knew absence made the heart grow fonder, but nobody told me it made the d*** go deeper.
2.5 years after the wet dream inducing events of Kookie Dough, Nelly and Yadah are forced back into each other's lives. Nelly is more successful, even finer and still opposed to love and commitment. Yadah has been through some things and really needs this job working for Nelly. Unfortunately for him she looks even better than he remembers and boy does he remember. It went down on that island! But working next to "trophy d..." everyday and not jumping back on for another leg shaking, toe curling ride is gonna require Yadah to have some helluva willpower. Let the yearning begin!
I loved this book and I love this couple so much! Their love story was a sexy, beautiful journey. The banter was top tier and the spice was spicing! I won't ever look at strawberries the same again. I experienced all the feels with this book. Jonel "Nelly" Jacobs is a certified book bae. This book is long but you will miss these characters when you are done!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review: With Kookies on Top by Bella Jay
If you haven’t read Kookie Dough... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
Bella Jay does it AGAIN. With Kookies on Top picks up right where we left off with Yadah and Nelly, and let me tell you—Chef Bella left NO CRUMBS. I mean that with my whole chest. This story is raw, emotional, blissful, and MUY CALIENTE 🔥🔥🔥. Buckle up, because this ride is one you won’t want to get off.
From the first page, I laughed, cried, and got mad all in one sitting. We saw Yadah in Kookie Dough making some less-than-stellar choices during her hot girl summer—but life has a way of humbling you, and a series of unfortunate events forces her into a journey of healing and rediscovery. And when I say my girl went THROUGH IT?! Whew 😮💨
Enter: Queen Kristmas. If you have a best friend like her, you are truly BLESSED. Ride or die, no questions asked. Despite her own flaws and struggles, she never wavered in being the friend Yadah needed. And let’s not forget Dale—solid, supportive, and just what Yadah needed during some of her darkest moments.
Now... The Jacob Brothers. 🥵🥵🥵 Deuce. Jay. Nelly. Jay NEEDS his own book (Bella, don’t play with us—we need answers!). But let’s talk about Nelly... “That’s a good man, Savannah.” 😩
Nelly, the playboy, the chef, the F-boy (or so we thought)—he surprised us all. Yadah returning to his life as his assistant managing his day-to-day? A recipe for emotional chaos and healing. Their “strictly professional” arrangement was doomed from the start, and thank GOD for that. What unfolds is a beautifully messy, real, and passionate love story. A story of two people broken in their own ways, finding peace, purpose, and passion in each other.
I savored every single crumb of this book. Don’t let the cookies cool before you devour them. With Kookies on Top is everything I didn’t know I needed, and more. 💜
Thank you Bella Jay for letting me be part of this exclusive taste test. You did that. Again. 😘🍪
First, thank you for the Advanced Taste Test Copy 🤭🖤
If you want a couple that’s going to STRESS. YOU. OUT. look no futher because Nelly and Kayadah had me ready to pull my hair out 🤣 but in a “I need yall to get yall ish together” way lol. This picks up exactly where Kookie Dough left off. And BABYYYY, the vacation fling did NOT stay on vacay. Life got reallll real and they had to decide if sticking together was worth it.
I wanted a deeper dive into Kayadah and Nelly after Kookie Dough and this didn’t disappoint. There were a few parts that had me ready to throw the boook lmao, but i’m happy they worked through all their issues for a sweet HEA. Also my girl is FINALLY selling her cookies! 🍪 (would be a cute pop up Bella Jay 😉)
Now don’t be like me and think this book is the same length as Kookie Dough 🤩 WKOT is THIQUE and she deserves every bit of your attention. I’m not mad at it though—we got to see their relationship develop and go thru ish in real time. Eff a time jump or instalove & this is whyyyy Ms. Bella’s pen is UNFCKWITTABLE!
WKOT is a banger. You remember Yadah and Nelly from Kookie Dough? Yea, this is their part 2. Remember how the plan was only for that one week on vacation?? Yea... Yadah tried, she tried really hard. With Kookies On Top being 2 years later and now Nelly is Yadah's boss... we see how messy FWB can be. We get to see everyone, Kristmas, Deuce, Jay, Dale and Tiff! Bella Jay brings the DRAMA, okay? She took her time with this masterpiece, and I enjoyed every second 😍 Thank for ARC
First, huge thank you to the author for the privilege of getting this ARC! ❤️
I have been waiting on Nelly and Yadah’s story since Kookie Dough and this did not disappoint. - While the book is long, I found that it didn’t bother me and I actually appreciated it. We have so many insta-love stories with folks having babies two weeks in or married in 2days. I like how the author gave us a real live look into the slow progression of their love story. -Nelly and Yadah had a lot of growth in this book. They were both frustrating at times but they definitely had me cheesing. My favorite growth story in this is Nelly’s. From playboy to lover boy? Has me swooning! - Now I’m looking forward to Jonah’s story. My guy was crashing!!!!! 😮💨😮💨😮💨
This was a really great slow build FWB to lovers that did not disappoint. Oh and spice? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
ARC reader and I’ve been waiting for the story of Nelly and Yadah and it did not disappoint. Yadah really had to work through some trauma and Nelly really was a playboy but I enjoyed their banter. Bella Jay, the references to things like The Cosby Show had me so weak 😂. I also love the display of kinks in the book cause Yadah and Nelly were nasty but I loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
ARC Review – With Kookies on Top by Bella Jay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5 stars) 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️(5 Spice)
This follow-up to Kookie Dough gave everything I wanted and more! Bella Jay brings the heat and heart in this FWB-to-lovers story featuring a smooth-talking playboy MMC and a guarded, no-nonsense FMC. Neither of them wanted love — just good vibes and even better nights — but you know how sneaky feelings can be. 👀
They were the true definition of a sneaky link! The slow buildup gave me time to fall for them, and the story had the perfect balance of spice, family drama, and real emotional depth. (read the TW first!)
It’s sexy, messy, and surprisingly sweet — all with Bella Jay’s signature banter and charm. A great feel-good read that doesn’t shy away from the heat. Highly recommend if you’re into spicy romance with heart!
ARC Review Thank you Bella Jay for this ARC First and foremost this book kept me hooked
I absolutely loved this book! Nelly and Yadah’s story started in Luminique in Kookie Dough and truly blossomed here with Kookies on top. It felt unique and refreshing, and it kept me completely engaged the entire time. I always wanted to know what would happen next. The symbolism with the cookies was also cute. The spice was just right.
One of the things I love most about this series is the flow. Characters from Book 1 and 2 are still present, and it all feels like a seamless continuation but not cliffhanger. It is just a satisfying, well-written novel that gave me everything I was hoping for and made me smile while reading . Definitely a 5-star read!
When we left off in Kookie Dough, Nelly and Yadah had just ended their little week-long friends-with-benefits situationship and went their separate ways. But two years later… guess who walks into Nelly’s office with a resume in hand? Yup. Yadah.
From the minute she showed up, I was ready for the drama, the tension, and that undeniable chemistry to come right back. These two gave me LIFE in the first book, so seeing them reconnect in this one? Chef’s kiss.
Even though Yadah kept trying to set “rules” between them, let’s be real, we all knew rules were made to be broken. 😂 Nelly and his little smart-mouth quips had me cracking up, and Yadah? Sass for days. The banter was everything, and the love that bloomed between them felt so real, you could literally feel it coming off the page.
But whew… when I learned what Yadah had gone through? I teared up. And then Nelly’s lil’ f-boy side pieces decided to act up? Oh, I was this close to throwing my Kindle across the room. Like, why y’all always choosing violence? 😤
This book is a thicky, no doubt—but I devoured it in like a day and a half. Couldn’t put it down. Couldn't walk away. The pacing, the heat, the emotion, it was all there.
So if you’ve been thinking about picking it up? Do it. Immediately. Come on and #read.these.damn.books because this one gave everything it needed to give.
When I say that this is great, that's your sign to go get it.
This is a spicy office romance. You will feel all the feels. Just note, there are secrets. Who doesn't want to know the secret or try to figure it out? I'll wait.
I loved everything about the relationship because it was written so well and felt so real. I don't want to say too much, but know that you will not be disappointed.
MARVELOUS!!!!
Do you have a kookie that's too sweet to resist? If so, let's talk about it.
This was such a delicious read but I didn’t expect anything less from Bella Jay! I am such a fan of hers and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
ARC review. Thank you to Bella Jay for an advanced copy of this book! I’ve just got in to Bella Jay this year and not one book out of the five I’ve read so far have disappointed me. Reading Kookie Dough was great and left me wanting to know more about what could happen between Nelly and Yadah. Although they both didn’t want to be in a relationship, the attraction was there. This book was definitely worth the wait. Every page was good. One of the best friends with benefits to lovers book I’ve read. They were in a relationship before they admitted it.
Get ready for a satisfying emotional roller coaster ride. You won’t be disappointed. This book holds your attention Bella Jay style! One minute you’re laughing, then you’re crying, and next you’re want more.
I enjoyed seeing their journeys as individuals but also as a couple! The level of spice in this book is just right.🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. They were definitely meant to be together. Their journey is amazing. It’s a great read! Make sure you pick it up! If you’re in a reading slump this book can get you out of it. It released on 7/31.
Oh my goodness, I have been waiting for this release and was chosen for ARC and let me tell you I was not disappointed. Yadah and Nellys chemistry is still explosive and Bella wrote some hot scenes. I loved reading their journey and seeing how they grew individually and together. It had a spice of drama thrown in there with full of laughter and love. It was written beautifully, and I loved how we still saw into the other characters life's so well, that it flowed perfectly. I was sick and read and finished this within under 24hours and enjoyed every bit of it. You wont be disappointed. Yadah and Nelly are my favorite.
ARC Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The wait for the continuation of the story of Yadah & Nelly was definitely worth it! This story in the series was just what the readers needed to understand each of the characters deeper being around the folks they mean the most to and how they grow together. The rollercoaster was not expected but felt so natural to the follow of the characters. I found myself rooting for both characters to find the happiness they deserved. It’s definitely a story I will read again and truly recommend to anyone who likes lots of spice with a great storyline for FWB to something real. Bella Jay hit it out the park again! 🫶🏾🙌🏾
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I always enjoy how Bella Jay puts so much thought and thoroughness into her works. And for Yadah and Nelly.. the thoroughness was needed. This friends-to-lovers story explored how messy and joyous falling in love with your friend can be. We rode the wave of Yadah discovering herself and healing after heartbreak and Nelly coming to terms with being a one woman man. And when I say I enjoyed every single sentence of this journey.. I was kicking my feet and giggling. I feel like I could go on all day about this one so ima just say.. READ IT
when Friends with Benefits become soooo much more... Read Kookie Dough first and follow up with With Kookies on Top to follow the story of Nelly and Yadah. I received an ARC and thoroughly enjoyed reading about the emotions they went through and loved witnessing the growth that can reveal itself once you get out your own way. Bella Jay did her BIG one with this steamy read. Get your copy July 31st!
*****ARC Review***** Thank you Bella Jay for the opportunity!! Storyline ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️️
This book gave everything that it was supposed to give. 12:01 was my favorite story from Bella Jay. But this story has skyrocketed to the top of the class!!!!!
Backstory: Jonel "Nelly" Jacobs was introduced in Finding Kristmas. Kayadah "Yadah" Kookman was mentioned due to her being Kristmas's best friend. Kristmas is Nelly's sister-in-law, married to his brother Jonathan "Deuce" Jacobs. Something sparked in Finding Kristmas that moved you to Kookie Dough. If you choose not to read Finding Kristmas, please ensure that you read Kookie Dough bc that leads into this story of Nelly & Yadah. This a FWB to Lovers trope. Nelly was a certified lifetime player. And Yadah was a comfortable side piece. They both grew up in the same small town with Yadah being almost 4 years Nelly's senior. Both left the small town to pursue their life/dreams. Nelly opening a restaurant after completing culinary school and Yadah moving to Texas to further her career. Life and tragedy happens and it sends Yadah back "home" where she acquires a job from Nelly. They know that they have sexual tension due to what transpired in Kookie Dough. They try their best to fight it due to Nelly having a rotation and also the thing that ran Yadah from Texas at the forefront of her memory. Of COURSE they cave. And some rules are put into play. Kristmas could NEVER find out. HA!!! This book has a mixture of everything. You have laughter, crying, infertility, pregnancy scare, scandals (multiple), pregnancy loss, mental health, infidelity, trust broken, crash outs, and healing.
This book comes out on 7/31/2025. You have time to read Finding Kristmas and Kookie Dough before then. Please add this to your TBR and she is taking preorders right.
ARC REVIEW Kookie With Kookies on Top is an emotional roller coaster I never wanted to get off. Bella Jay delivers a sizzling, heartfelt, and laugh-out-loud love story that proves some temptations are just too delicious to resist.
From the moment Kayadah "Kookie" Kookman ends up working for Jonel Jacobs—her unforgettable vacation fling turned new boss—I knew I was in for a spicy, complicated ride. The chemistry between them? Off the charts. Their tension, banter, and blatant denial had me grinning from ear to ear. Watching them try to stay "strictly professional" while clearly falling deeper was messy, tender, and incredibly entertaining.
Bella masterfully balances spice with substance. There’s plenty of heat (and I do mean plenty), but it’s paired with real emotional depth and character development. Yadah and Nelly’s journey from sneaky flirtation to something solid felt earned. They didn’t just fall in love—they chose each other, over and over, even through the chaos.
And let’s talk about the side characters! Kristmas had me wanting to scream and hug her at the same time. Her frustration felt raw and real, and while her actions made me mad, I got her. Jay’s subplot? I saw the signs early on and was still shocked when it unfolded. I need more of that storyline, stat.
Every character felt alive. The world Bella created was vibrant, dramatic, sexy, and full of personality. Whether it was the spicy scenes, the emotional unraveling, or the quiet moments of vulnerability, every beat landed.
Bottom line: With Kookies on Top is gold. Bella Jay’s pen game is strong, unflinching, and unforgettable. This story is sweet, steamy, and soulful—just like the best cookies. 🍪🔥
ARC Review 📚 Book Title: Kookies on Top ✍🏽Author: Bella Jay Format: eBook = 📱 ⭐️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Stellar Read 🌶 Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶🌶 = Medium/Hot
🕑Quick Take: Kayadah “Yadah” Kookman, affectionately known as "Kookie" by Nelly, has a history with Jonell "Nelly" Jacobs, the owner of The Brunch Bar and Nelly 101.
In "Kookies on Top," Yadah returns to her hometown of Southgate seeking a fresh start. She takes on the role of Nelly’s personal assistant, but as they work together, will they be able to resist the lingering attraction between them?
💕What I Loved: Yadah and Nelly stressed me out quite a bit. However, I persevered because I understood that they needed to work through their individual issues and learn to trust each other. I appreciated Bella Jay’s careful handling of sensitive topics. Additionally, Yadah loved Gilmore Girls, which was a win! I also enjoyed the cookie-baking theme woven throughout the story.
Tropes: - Forced Proximity - Forbidden Love - Fling to Forever - Second Chance
⚠️ Heads Up (Trigger/Content Warnings): - Reproductive Health Issues - Infidelity
💭Final Thoughts: My first read by Bella was “12:01,” and she continues to impress me. I still need to explore her earlier works. This novel was quite thick, which made it incredibly satisfying. I took my time to savor every moment! I highly recommend checking out “Kookies on Top,” which will be fresh out of the oven on July 31, 2025. Run, don’t walk—pre-order it!
Thanks to Bella Jay for this advanced reader’s copy.
With Kookies on Top is the sequel to Kookie Dough, and it dives deeper into the friends-with-benefits dynamic between Nelly and Yadah. I’m usually not a fan of that trope, I prefer my fictional men either instantly obsessed or full-on enemies, with ALL the strings attached (preferably used to blindfold and tie up the FMC). So when their relationship started off string-free, I was cautious.
But it’s Bella Jay, and she never lets me down. Around 40% in, my reader needs were not only met—they were exceeded. I fell hard for Nelly and Yadah, especially how they loved each other, their families, and themselves.
Any book that includes: Besties who tell you the truth (Kristmas, Dale, Tiffani) Therapy, therapy, therapy Complicated motherhood/pregnancy dynamics Spice (&spice with food) Personal nicknames A man ready to go to jail for you
…is always a hit for me. I still don’t love friends with benefits, but I’ll make an exception for these two because they had me laughing, crying, clenching my thighs, and giggling.
I don't think there was one emotion I didn't feel throughout this book. There was a lot of arm flailing. Talking about a burning flame between Yadah and Nelly. I wouldn't call this a slow burn but these two were definitely slow in denying the inevitable. They call themselves being secretive when everyone already peeped game. I loved the showcase of mental health and healing, and communication without transparency can cause ripples. I enjoyed every moment of this couple's growth as individuals, their banter, their spice, and their journey to their happily ever after together. My only con about this book is that there wasn't enough violence in this book. Because Mariah, Noah, and Nikki all deserve to have hands laid on them!
Thank you to Bella Jay for an advanced copy of this book! I’ve just got in to Bella Jay last year and I am so glad that I did! I thought 12:01 was my top from her, but this book might have taken that top spot!! 🔥🔥
Before you read this please make sure you read Kookie Dough to see the beginning of Yadah and Nelly’s relationship or else you will be lost going in to this!
These two are EVERYTHING! I love them bad, they stress me out one minute and then have me giggling and kicking my feet! I knew it was only going to be a matter of time before those two got that act together and I’m so glad that they did because you could tell from Book 1 that they were meant for each other and I’m so happy they both their pride aside to realize that!!
I also really enjoyed seeing their journeys as individuals but also as a couple! Also as heads up these two definitely get freaky and Nelly put my girl through the mattress more than a few times lol.
But this was such a great read and it releases 7/31. So, go pick it up when it does!!!
Some connections are so strong even time and distance can’t stop it! Nelly and Yadah had to find that out and watching their journey was amazing! Seeing two people growing and evolve not just for the other, but for themselves had me teary eyed a lot. The check ins they made a priority was everything!! I went from laughing to crying to a lil hot and bothered with these two 🤭
Bella wrote such a well rounded story that the fact that it’s a thickiana didnt even matter!!!!! You’ll be sucked in so much to the point where you don’t wanna put it down! Even when the story ends you’ll still wanted one more chapter just because ☺️
I have so many thoughts and words for this book. But I’ve been in the author’s DMs being a menace already. So, I’ll leave it at this. I’m glad Nelly & Yadah quit playing in each other’s and our faces. #TwoBadBitches IYKYK 😆 Also,#TeamJonah
