Poppy is a successful event organizer. She is very good at what she does and professionally things couldn't be better. When it comes to relationships Poppy keeps getting hurt though. Her boyfriends often cheat on her and she's never had something long and lasting. It's time to change that, so Poppy decides to stay away from the bad boys she's usually attracted to. She wants to find her soulmate instead. She will give online dating sites a try and she also doesn't mind if one of her friends sets ...more

I want to say thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book was a very good and very enjoyable read. It was an equal mix of funny, romantic, and sad. I think Ellen Butler has a promising future as a writer if she continues on like she did with this book. Can't wait to see more from her....Stormi

Back in August, during a book tour I got the chance to read a new book by a new-to-me author, Ellen Butler. The title of the book was Heart of Design. I really enjoyed the book and gave it a 4 star review. So when the author contacted me about reading/reviewing the next book in the series, I was all over that.

Poppy is Sophie's best friend and runs an event planning company that Sophie occasionally worked at. Poppy actually introduced Sophie and Ian, so I was excited to see her get her own story.

I received this book as an arc for a honest review. Poppy, a California event or party planner, stops by her boy friends apartment to drop off some items for their special Valentines Day dinner, she finds him cheating on her. What she does is priceless!! You gotta read it! No spoilers though. She then decides with her friend Sophie (Sophie and Ian were in Heart of Design if you have read it) to let a dating website match her up since she picks bad boy losers. She will plan her dates like she pla ...more

This book was so much fun to read! I loved Poppy's character! She was smart in business and so brave in her online dating adventures! Adam was the type of man every girl dreams of, handsome, sweet and very sexy! I really love Ellen Butler's writing style. The dialogue and descriptions are very relatable to my own every day life and that brings the characters to life for me and makes the stories she tells so believable!! I can't wait to read more of her books!

This was such a fun book to read. The dates that Poppy went on were hilarious and I loved the chemistry between Poppy and Adam. Poppy was such a great heroine and Adam was just as swoon-worthy. I highly reccommend if you're looking for a fun, low angst read with great writing.

Planning for Love was sweet and romantic. Poppy Reagan ran her life with order and lots of planning. She owned a successful party planning company in California and was surrounded by great friends and a dependable staff. She even had what she thought was a dependable boyfriend, until she caught him cheating. At that point Poppy decided to start online dating and made sure her selection geared towards the complete opposite of the “bad boys” she usually went for. Poppy had yet to realize

I smiled, I laughed out loud, I wanted more!

Poppy is definitely her own woman. She knows what she wants and she works hard to get it. She’s open-minded in some regards, closed in others – just the right amount of balance. Adam is definitely a patient man. He’d only enjoyed a week with Poppy- as her rebound guy, but afterwards they developed an electronic friendship – communicating through email, texts, and occasional phone calls. It was enough for him to know he wanted her, and he set o

This is the fourth book I have read by Ellen Butler. I didn't realize it when I started Planning for Love, but this book is a companion to her last. The woman at the center of this book is a secondary character in the last, and vice versa. I found it appealing because not only could I quickly jump in and catch up on the status of the last couple, but it felt comfortable, like coming back to a place I had enjoyed before. While interrelated and linear, both books can be read as a stand alone or ev ...more

The synopsis for Planning For Love seems like a total plotline for a great Contemporary Romance starring Sandra Bullock and Matthew McConaughey. After just reading the synopsis, I knew I had to read this book as it seemed like it would be a great read. Let me tell you, the synopsis doesn't lie as I really did enjoy myself in this great by Ellen Butler. As it was my first chance of reading a book by this wonderful author, I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Having read #1 "Heart of Design" it felt like meeting up with old friends again ans making new ones.
I've missed Poppy , she makes me laugh!  It was good to see that Holly and her daughter were settling in. Holly went through a really tough time with an abusive ex husband. She now has a new job , a fresh start and a life free of fear.

Poppy has impeccable taste when it comes to her party planning business but the same can't be sai

Poppy has terrible luck with men. She tends to gravitate toward bad boys and it always ends badly. At a stage in life where she wants to settle down, Poppy signs up to a few online dating sites and waits for the magic to happen.

Adam can’t get his holiday fling out of his head – smart and sassy, Poppy is everything he wants in a woman. Problem is – he lives in Ohio and she lives in California, plus – she seems pretty intent on finding her Mr.

I think Poppy is my favourite character from the series. She's smart, funny, successful and beautiful. She has no shortage of men wanting to date her but she has terrible taste and always ends up with a two-timing eejit.

There is a high element of comedy in the story.
I had to laugh at how Poppy responded after catching her last boyfriend with his trousers down. Her revenge involved a good mix of ingenuity and gumption!
After this, she decides to join an online dating site which results in many hi

Another fun romance with Butler's trademark style. Butler manages to weave serious moments in with the fun for an engaging, heartwarming, and at times hilarious story. As Poppy struggles to find time in her busy life to find Mr Right, Adam struggles to convince her that he's the One. This story includes the familiar challenges of a long-distance relationship as well as going from friends to something more. Butler uses her usual technique of transitioning between 1st person (Poppy's thoughts) and ...more

Planning for Love is a fresh and wonderfully written romantic comedy that takes an honest look at the dating life of the modern woman. When the beautiful Poppy Reagan is wronged by her boyfriend she gets even in a unique way that I'm sure most women wish they could have thought of first. The perils and pitfalls of dating life are humorously showcased by Ms. Butler so much so that I'm glad I'm married.
