This book on forgiveness had some good material in it, but overall it was hit-or-miss with quality. The book is separated into five parts. The first two parts have a variety of writers telling a variety of tales about forgiveness. These stories may be about forgiving a spouse for cheating, or forgiving someone that abused you. There were numerous stories about very specific types of things that needed to be forgiven. Even though I didn't resonate with each individual story, there were still encouraging aspects about these stories. However, I enjoyed Parts 3 and 4 more, as they dealt with more practical application. Part 3 was about the process of forgiving someone, and Part 4 was about the benefits of forgiving. The final section of the book were various prayers written out so that people that had experienced specific things could pray specific prayers of forgiveness. I've never really enjoyed reading prayers that authors suggest for their readers, so I skimmed most of this section.

What a great book! This is definitely one for my bedside table to read over and over again. The knowledge set forth about what forgiveness is and what it is not... really hit home. The 12 steps laid out a bit later really help you to gain the edge over a situation when you are emotionally confused and hurting. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone needed to find some peace at last.

I love how the author states the past is His story. Let go and turn it over to God. Forgive so you can live freely.

Only through the Holy Spirit can we forgive some offenses...including ourselves. The stories of forgiveness told in Part 1 are so very powerful and inspiring!

I did not read the entire book because some situations didn't fit. The ones I needed were spot on. So happy to have found this resource.
