This landmark book was written as a scientific refutation of evolution. Dr. John Andelin, a pathologist, draws from his experience in a scientific field in his analysis of evolutionary biology. Early in his book, Dr. Andelin documents that evolutionary biology fails as a scientific discipline by virtue of the abandonment of standards of scientific integrity in the promotion of a worldview. All of the major lines of evidence presented in defense of evolution are carefully evaluated. Most of these perceived “evidences” are philosophy-based and are therefore invalid. Others, such as radiometric dating and paelontology, employ corrupt practices of science and must therefore be rejected. In a masterful writing style, Dr. Andelin explains that when all religious assumptions are stripped away, no compelling scientific evidence for evolution can be found. This book is written in a scholarly style, yet has can be understood by those who lack expertise in a scientific field. Evolution: Mask of Science is a comprehensive book which eviscerates the entire treatise of Darwinism. Many of the arguments presented are unique and have never been published in the forum of the evolution/creation debate. This book includes multiple illustrations and photographs. Included are over 450 references A must-read for those who questions the popularized dogmas of secularism.
This book's basic statement is: evolution is a worldview, and its proponents exaggerate and philosophize evidence to support it. The writer, J.B. Andelin is a pathologist and a sculptor, and he makes his argument debunking evolution mainly by utilizing scientific reasoning which evolutionists erroneously claim is wholly on their side. His arguments are thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating. In the very beginning, Dr. Andelin states that his book is written to those who feel conflicted about accepting evolution which seems to strike at their deepest convictions, but which also seems to be hailed far and wide as irrefutable science by the accepted science communities of today. Dr. Andelin's book shows those who feel so conflicted the many flaws in evolutionary reasoning. One can read this book and see that evolution is mostly a myth put forth by a generation of scientists determined to deny any intrinsic purpose or divine power in the universe. For me, this book opened my mind to many things I had never known. I now understand carbon-dating much better. I know many of the arguments evolutionists make. My attention is drawn to the beautiful details of nature which fill me with wonder. After reading this book, I feel I can state my beliefs with greater confidence and information even in the face of our devoted scientists in the study of evolution.
I have often been troubled by what I have been taught regarding evolution, but who was I to doubt the scientists? No one in academia presents anything but evolution as fact. Anyone who doubts is deemed religiously deluded.
Dr. Andelin disassembles the theory of evolution to it's most basic, unprovable assumptions and tackles its tenets one be one. This book has empowered me and given me confidence I previously lacked on this issue. I was particularly fascinated on Dr. Andelin's handling of human evolution. I no longer feel threatened by fossils, and am left thinking "I wouldn't be able to believe evolution even if I were an atheist."
I admit the book is a bit redundant, and could have been more concisely organized, but that is a small matter. I give it five stars anyway since the content has expanded my understanding and profoundly affected my thinking for the better.
