Fire Me Up
Travis “Cash” Sinclair values only two things from his days with the Deacons of Bourbon Street: his prized Harley Davidson and the man who gave it to him. But now Priest Lombard ...more
First let me say I have read the first book in this series, Make You Burn by author Megan Crane, and loved it. The author of this book, Rachael Johns, is part of a four author collaboration to write a MC series about New Orleans. As an avid biker/MC romance reader, I am always looking for quality romances with good writing and characters as well as a good plot with a little angst. So far the books in this series have exceeded my ...more
Billie transplanted to the U.S.A. with an American dream...to own her own gallery and find an outlet to express her art. She fell in love with the French Qu ...more
- The Good : Travis and Billie have a bit of a rough start, but I liked their connection. There was good sex, but there were proper conversations that showed their chemistry in a non-sexual way. Getting Travis’ backstory and motivations was very appreciated and it made his actions make sense instead of just “because I’m a biker, b!tch” and I liked that.
- The Bad : Still not feeling the mystery of Priest. It’s a very tenuous thread that’s barely been expanded on between two books now. Essentially ...more
Billie is finally making a life for herself on her own – doing something she enjoys when Travis walks in and turns her world upside down. The only problem is that she might hate him just as much as she wants to sleep with him.

Okay, THIS MC romance is a little closer to my speed. The hero wasn't a complete jerk, the heroine had some backbone. Maybe I'll never like true MC romances but I sure as hell liked this one!
Billie was totally cute! She's kind of a bohemian-type of girl and she's incredibly sweet and kind. I loved how positive and upbeat she was. Especially since it seemed that being that way was a conscious choice for her. She had a crappy marriage before she ...more
She used to prefer her art on the walls...
I was excited to read Fire Me Up because I wanted some answers to questions raised in the previous book. And, I was hoping for some more Ajax with his filthy mouth and caveman attitude. However; being that this 2nd book has a different author it seemed like he had a personality transplant, he lost his swagger. I think part of the change is because Billie, and maybe the author as well is from the UK and the dialogue is much mo ...more
Billie rents the building that used to be the clubhouse of the Deacons MC. It is now an Art Gallery. Art is something she has always had a passion for. She has talent herself but her family and ex-husband stifled her and ruined her confidence when they told her it was a waste of time. So while she does draw at times, she doesn't showcase her art, she showcases other peoples.

I am loving this story and the overall concept of this series. Four different authors, each telling the story of a different MC brother, while also continuing the overarching story of the death of their club president. It’s something different after reading a lot of repetition in stories out there.
I love the world that has been created in my mind with the descriptions of the French Quarter, so colorful and vivid that I can almost feel the Lou ...more
I really loved this book, there was a new twist to the MC Romance novel here. We have a broken up MC, The Deacons of Bourbon Street, with men who had to give up their brotherhood and go out and find a place in the world they had turned their backs on.
The story brings Travis "Cash" Sinclair back to New Orleans, a place he swear he hates from the pain and betrayal he felt when he left here. When Priest Lombard , the former President of the Deacons, dies the club members re ...more
If you have read the first in the series, MAKE YOU BURN by Megan Crane, then you would have already met Travis "Cash" Sinclair, one of the four original members who have come back together in order to say goodbye to their dead president. Cash has inherited some of the "Deacons" property, which happens to be in use ...more
Billie Taylor can't believe the arrogance of Travis, he waltzes in as if he owns the place. Well he does, but Billie is not giving it up without a fight. Sparks ...more
I can handle an asshole hero and I can even sometimes handle sex scenes with other women before the hero and heroine hook up but when you combine the two together it completely ruins any chance of redemption in my eyes... Not even gonna bother going any further with this one.

Fire Me Up tells the story of Travis-- former MC member, former outlaw, current security analyist--and Billie—recently divorced, former artist, current gallery proprietor.
Travis returns to New Orleans to pay his respects when Priest, the President of “The Deacons” (Travis’s old MC), dies mysteriously. He feels obligated to stay and help his “brothers” get to the bottom of the suspicious death. Travis,...more
In this installment, our male lead is Cash (Travis) who, since being exiled from the Deacons, has been working as a security analyst in Tallahassee. Cash got his name because he was good with computers and finances. Our female lead is Billie, the artist who rents ...more
Didn't work for me.
I do love a good MC book so when I noticed this on NetGalley I put in my request, the blurb sounded good and I liked the idea of it being set in New Orleans, I think this is the first MC book I've read that's been set there it's also the first book I've read by this author.
I didn't realise when I requested this that it was actually book 2 in the 'Deacons of Bourbon Street' and while it was ok as a standalone I did feel I was missing information and background on the club in pa ...more
I enjoyed it but I’m still left with so many questions unanswered, I’m not a fan of having to read 4 books before the questions are answered.
This isn’t your typical MC read, 10 years ago 4 brothers from the Deacons of Bourbon MC were banished from New Orleans by their president Priest after a run went terribly wrong. Now Priest has been murdered and the brothers have been summoned home to attend the funeral and to bring Priest’s killer to justice. Travis has made a new life for himself ...more
Travis, road name Cash, came back to NOLA to pay his respects to Priest, the President of the Deacons Motorcycle Club. Travis has been out of the life for the last ten years. New Orleans is the last place he wants to be. After the reading of Priest's will, Travis finds out that he, along with the other brothers, has been left property. Property he wants nothing to do with. He wants to be back in Tallahassee to the life h ...more
I have been really enjoying this series! This installment is about Cash and Andrea. Cash reluctantly comes back to NOLA to pay his respects to Priest, his fallen club pres. He sure doesn't expect to stick around or fall in love with a bohemian artist who's taken over the clubs courtyard with her art gallery. I thought cash and Andrea displayed good chemistry. Andrea was a well written love interest. She's rebounding from a di ...more
I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley.
The book is terrific. The writing is excellent. The love scenes are fantastic & hot. No spoiler here, but the end of the book was abrupt, no hint as to the subject of the next books' main character. Who will be next? I'm hoping it's Blues turn next! I cannot wait to find out.
