Man, does it feel good to be back with the Maxwell family! According to my goodreads, I added Broken Record to my tbr back in 2014 so I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time and it was worth the wait! I loved Savannah’s story.
Savannah Maxwell and Lucas Atwood have basically been friends since birth, but the timing has never been right for them. They’ve both graduated college and end up in the same town. The only thing standing in their way is Savannah’s boyfriend of three yea ...more

Broken Record by K A Linde is the fifth book in the Record series. I had no clue it was a part of a series until I received an advanced copy for review. Fortunately, it can be read as a standalone.
Characters from the previous installment made an appearance, but their roles were not integral to the plot. However, they provided some relief from the actions of the main characters, which I found annoying and immature.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone story.
For all of their lives Savannah and Lucas have been friends. Their parents are close too so they have grown up sharing holidays and special events. At one time Savannah thought they could end up more than friends but things changed as they got older and moved on with their lives.

Oh buddy, friends to lovers to enemies and then back to lovers.
Broken Record was so freaking good. No regrets about starting with book 5 instead of going with the first book of this series. In it, you will meet Savannah and Lucas. Now I have no idea what it's like to have two families try to push you and someone else together all the time. Yes, Savi's and Lucas's parents are best friends and I did think it was cute that their moms had a dream of them getting married eventually down the road. BUT ...more

K.A. Linde certainly knows how to write some angsty, emotional stories. And this one was no different. Savannah is stuck between two guys who she genuinely adores. I enjoyed feeling her feelings right along with her. Lucas was an enigma most of the story but I really enjoyed his absolute love for Sav. The story was full of back and forth feelings and emotion. It was also steamy yet also romantic. I hadn't read the other books in this series and it didn't ruin the story at all. It mad ...more

What I loved: The steam factor was off the charts! The UNC shout outs. Seeing the whole Maxwell family again. Lucas <3
What I didn't love: Savannah. I personally don't do well with characters that are wishy washy. I found myself being annoyed at her most of the book.

At last, K A Linde lets us spend quality time with Lucas Atwood. I've loved him from afar (and a little closer, thanks to Linde sharing chapters of this book through her newsletter), and after getting to know him, I find myself wanting more.

I've been a fan of the Record series ever since OFF THE RECORD came out in 2014... the first three books were about Brady and Liz, then the book was about Clay and Andrea and this one is about the youngest Maxwell sibling, Savannah. I first met her on Brady and Liz's story.
This book is about Savannah and her childhood best-friend Lucas... oh my gosh, these two were like gasoline and fire, and we all know what happens when fire and gasoline meet.

Look at how elegantly and effortlessly sexy that cover is. Those sentiments are beautifully reflected in the telling of this love story.
I don't normally do love triangles - I don't like the duplicity. But because of the author, I thought I would give this one a go - and I'm glad I did. I really loved this couple's struggle to work out how to find what they wanted - even if that wasn't each other.

Broken Record by K.A. Linde is full of chemistry, charming, desirable, and has two characters you're going to absolute love. I was hooked from beginning to end and was so excited to be diving back into the Maxwell family.

M/F Romance - Second Chance Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
I read only the first book in this series and then this one. While I didn't necessarily felt that something was missing, I'm unsure if the backstory between the main characters happens in previous books.

I love books where the characters are faced with situations that feel real. And, I get it, sometimes characters are spies and being shot at is real. However, in this title, there is something between Savannah and Lucas. The problem? Easton; Savannah's long term boyfriend.

For most part, I love K.A. Linde's writing and she can do angst really well. But unfortunately I didn't get really into Broken Record. It's a good book, don't get me wrong, but for me I felt like I missed the story from the beginning to the end.
The beginning was a bit confusing for me and then I felt like things resolved too fast, without much angst, which I craved from this book, and then it ended.

So I’ve read a couple of the books in this series but not all of them. It doesn’t matter what books you have and haven’t read, you’ll enjoy Broken Record and getting to know Savannah a bit more. This was a tough one for me. I’m not huge into triangle love stories and I generally end up feeling a bit sour on someone in the trio. I found that I liked all three of them. They seemed like they all wanted happiness for Savannah, who was the point person in this trio. I liked Easton, and I was kind of

This book is the last of Maxwell siblings. This is Savannah’s story. Savannah’s story was originally released in chapters as part of K.A. Linde’s newsletter. She did it again. I love this series and I need Kyla to keep finding reasons to write more books.
This can be read as a standalone in this series. Though I would say go read the rest as well, you won't regret it. This is one of those worlds you are happy to dive back into. The angst and emotions are real in Kyla's books and as another reviews pointed out, this one showcases that perfectly.

When I pick up a book by KA Linde I know it will be enjoyable with great writing and characters. That’s what Broken Record is! Honestly I did not read the first 4 books of the series but now I do plan to go back and read about Brady and Liz and Clay and Andrea. Broken Record is about Brady and Clay’s little sister, Savannah. Savi and her best friend from birth, Lucas, keep getting involved then not then she’s dating someone and he’s jealous and they fight...and this goes on and on like a Broken

I've been really waiting for this book and anxious to read it. I was glad to finally get the story of Savannah and Lucas. I found that I didn't like this book as much as the others in the series. It was good, and I enjoyed it very much, but it seemed like Savannah just didn't know what, or who, she wanted. I wasn't comfortable with the way everything happened with Lucas and Eason, and I was bothered by how long she took to decide which one she wanted to be with. The uncertainty there made me fee

This book was a gift to her readers. We have been reading it piece by piece in her newsletter. I was great at the beginning, reading each chapter as she released them, but as time went on, I lost track, and I almost didn't want to know the ending. I am thinking this is the last of the Maxwells for KA Linde, and I honestly didn't want it to end. But I buckled down, and dove in, and KA Linde has shown herself once again as the Queen of Angst.

Oh my heart! This book was definitely continuously pulling me in different directions-I have no reservations when I read, so cheating was not a deal breaker for me. To be honest, it made the book so much more angsty. The chemistry between Savannah and Lucas was undeniable-throughout the whole book-even when they fought. However, there was a likable feature about her boyfriend as well. As readers we’re stuck in an epic love triangle that I really couldn’t put down. It can definitely be read as a

I had read this book in increments before, and it was nice to revisit it in its entirety. Broken Record was an angsty friends-to-lovers story with drama and heat, and I’m seriously considering revisiting the series as a refresher. This could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books in this series for a richer backstory (or re-reading if it’s been a while since you’ve read them).
