Have you ever seen a "very manly girl"? The heroine in this story, Oikawa Ibuki, is just that type of girl. To find her true soul mate, after transferring schools, Ibuki was determined to act like a gentle lady. Yet on her first day of transfer, due to her righteous sense she went to save a small dog, and at the time she was seen by the suspicious "crow messenger"! Is Ibuki's whole image ruined!? And who is this mysterious "crow messenger"!?

She uses a male pseudonym and draws herself as a man, but she's actually female."If my stories can touch you, make you laugh, forget unhappy things, or even give you that 'good job' feeling, then I'll be super, super happy!" - Kyousuke Motomi
Manga Status: Complete Number of Chapters: 5 Genres: Shoujo, Comedy, Romance
This review is for the manga series as a whole.
Oikawa Ibuki is a high school student who has a very manly personality. She has no qualms about entering fights and doing things that are very unfeminine, but she's determined to change that... and find a boyfriend who's even manlier than she is. After transferring schools, she hears about the mysterious student council - no one knows who the members are, or even where their club room is located - and is warned away from the beads club by her classmates. However, she meets a boy with a dark aura, who chooses her to be the vice president of his club!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love Motomi Kyousuke? Because I do. I love her. She is on my list of best mangakas ever. While Otokomae! Beads Club is extremely short, I can't tell you how many times I laughed, and how much I suddenly loved these characters, and more.
The characters are really simplistic and don't really have a backstory, but they are somehow charming all the same. Ibuki is just like a slightly more reckless version of Teru from Electric Daisy, Vol. 1, so that was pretty much instant love. Her love interest, Takumi, is a dark-haired, slightly more perverted Kurosaki, and despite his overall flatness as a character, I found myself liking him, too. The other club members were funny but aren't memorable; I don't even know their names.
My usual complaint with mangas this short is that there isn't much room for development, for the characters or the plot (as you may have guessed, I tend to like long mangas).Otokomae! Beads Club is no exception. The plot feels fairly episodic, but it was really more laughs than anything else, and I was okay with that.
Overall, I liked the manga and it's worth it to take some time out of your day to read the chapters. Plus, the A+ artwork is absolutely gorgeous. Now I have a hankering to reread Dengeki Daisy...
The Beads Club is really really not for you dear. (6 v <)
Sebenarnya dulu udah pernah baca.
Oh, I actually loved this one. A Bead's club, a mysterious SCA, one arrogant (also pervert, according to Ibuki) council president and a very manly girl student, will bring you laughter. It was really well-drawn and I found myself falling in love with the characters. Unfortunately, it's just one volume.
The story was good although it seemed that the character needed more depth, they had personality but I would have liked to get to know the characters better. The art was good but that can be expected from Kyousuke Motomi:)
love the part where she was sleep walking in the road and the part where she meets the club, I absolutely fell in love with all the silly characters and their crazy antics, I truly wish it would go on forever.
Although is was really really short, but it was a really fun Manga to read. A story of a really strong girl who tries to act delicate in order to fit in, but ends up in the most odd and unusual club in the school. But fear not, she Will find LOVE and Happiness....
Not really my favorite Motomi-sensei read, but it's still pretty sweet and lovable. As usual, it is reminiscent of her other characters (in terms of personality and the art). The love at first sight thing was honestly a turn-off for me, though.
It was a nice read, and well, I love beading. If only i had the time, space, and resources to do it myself. It was a nice combination, definately worth a re-read.
I would have loved to see more volumes about those characters, but oh well I still loved it (I think I love everything Kyousuke Motomi does....definitely one of my favorites mangakas)!
